**Previously part of the Shadows and Light anthology** Ema fights to suppress her werewolf emotions and deny her warlock powers. It isn't easy being a half-breed, but she is determined to slide through life unnoticed by either group. When the warlock leaders team up with humans to force paranormal registration, Ema believes she must choose between her two unwanted worlds. An unexpected companion shows her not all emotions are bad, and power has its benefits.

Warwolf is a short story following a pair of unlikely companions as they struggle to travel/avoid the trip to a mandated registration of supernaturals. Ema, a werewolf-warlock hybrid and Declan meet the night before their surprise journey under less than ideal circumstances. Ema has spent her life trying to completely control her emotions and Declan is a passionate werewolf. They aren't an obvious match, but it works. Declan brings out the best of Ema. It's an entertaining, quick read, but I wish it had been more developed. More or these two interesting characters wold have been appreciated.
Hybrid warlock/werewolf evades the authorities in the company of an annoying stray werewolf. The story concludes quickly with a HEA, as if the desired word count was reached, so it had to be wrapped up. It took me a while to warm up to the characters and story, but I'm glad I did. Typos: adjective used as adverb, incorrect capitalization, I/me mix up, wrong tense, were used for where, principals used for principles, missing comma.
Half werewolf, half warlock. And a trail of suspense. Ema has to decide which half she will register as and she has to do it before they catch her. What she chooses might surprise you. Intrigued? Good, read it and find out what Ema will do.
I live this author. I don’t like heavy real stories, but like to get lost in another believable reality and Melissa always delivers. Thanks for another fun read! Can’t wait to start the next one....
In typical Melissa Haag fashion there's nothing typical about this book. Yes there are werewolves, warlocks and witches in the story. Yet each of them is not like the genre trends. Of course Ema is super
Ema is part werewolf and part warlock. That seems to be rare in their world, and she does her best to not be like her mother who was ruled by her emotions. But when she runs into a strange werewolf, and then has to go register she must figure out which path she is going to take before it is too late.
This book was really good. Even though it was rather short I fell in love with the heroine. She was great, and I loved her and the hero together as well. The only downside to this book is that there isn't a second one with these same characters. I need more, this one just wasn't enough.
The mark of a great short story is when they feel FINISHED.....but yet you want to read more. That's definitely the case with Warwolf. I absolutely loved reading about so many Supe characters in one story, and the clever way the author gave them all idiosyncrasies. It was such a fun read. If you're looking for a quick read, definitely give this novella a chance.
"WarWolf" is entertaining with werewolves & witches. Definitely a new take on werewolves & witchcraft. The author, Melissa Haag, pulls you into the story, even if's a short story! Definitely reccomend this book.
Aww, the sweet romance of Melissa Haag. As always, balanced nicely with action. I wish there was more to this world. The world was built beautifully, the magic outlined without feeling that I was being taught and I dug the concept.
It took me a minute to warm up to Ema. She was so bent on not being her mother and held stereotypes for others that caused her to be antisocial. I was confused by Declan, at first, but began to see how he was used to develop Ema. I liked the character development and the uniqueness of the story.
