COMMANDO (Short Bursts): A Sergeant's Duty

Rate this book
This is a Short Story of approximately 12,000 words...

Sergeant Dougal McTeague survived the defeat of the Royal Scots at Le Paradis, holding the line while remnants of the British Expeditionary Force retreated to Dunkirk. Now, back home in England, McTeague is haunted by the deaths of his men, and driven to fits of drunken violence.

After a particularly bloody episode puts McTeague behind bars, he learns that his release comes with a price: McTeague must prove himself in an upcoming regimental boxing match. McTeague knows that if he cannot control his anger, and focus on his duty, he may lose his rank, and worse, his honor.

A Sergeant's Duty is the second in the COMMANDO: Short Bursts series of short stories related to the COMMANDO World War Two adventure novels. It is related to events that take place in that series, but can be enjoyed on its own.
