Once you enter, anything goes. No fantasy—however dark and dirty and depraved it may be—is forbidden. You have no past, no inhibitions, no morals…and no memory.
All you have to cling to is the memory of a scorching touch, a searing kiss, the wet slide of skin on skin, and the heat of breath across your flesh.

This final book - okay except for the deleted door in book nine - brings a wonderful conclusion to what has been a really interesting and erotic fantasy read.
In each book Hannah and Conrad seem to grow closer and there is a huge shift between them now, a life changing shift.
So who is she supposed to be with then and was this all just a weird wacky dream? Does she even know Conrad in real life?
Not telling so you will have to read and find out :)
The Black Room: Door Eight by Jasinda Wilder is part of a serial and definitely should be read in order.
In this final installment of The Black Room, all is revealed and explained. I must admit, I had been hoping for something slightly more...fantastic?...than what the actual explanation turns out to be. As it is, though, the other doors make sense with this newfound context. I guess I just felt that there was so much anticipation built up after eight installments and I wanted the grand reveal to be...more.
Also, I found the circumstances surrounding the way that Hannah and Conrad first meet to be strange and far-fetched. Considering everything else that's happened in this series, I suppose it's not impossible. But I thought that it was a rather unlikely way for two people to meet and build a relationship upon.
Additionally, I should mention that the complete series probably isn't for everyone. There is A LOT of sex in this series, both in terms of quantity as well as variety (menage, group, m/f, m/f/m, m/f/f, light BDSM, etc.). Personally, I wasn't uncomfortable with it, but there are scenes that are repetitive when I just wanted more concrete plot. Also, depending on your comfort level, this series might be too intense. Besides the frequency of sex scenes, the content itself is super explicit and there are certainly things that could make readers uncomfortable.
There are also some crucial plot points that will likely bother some readers as well. The environment in which Hannah and Conrad's relationship begins and develops will probably not sit well with some people. Also, if you're a stickler for "safe" (aka no cheating) plots, this series might not be for you.
To fully appreciate the emotional payoff at the conclusion of The Black Room, the doors should be read in order, otherwise you'll likely get lost. And despite my criticisms about various things throughout the series, it was an interesting ride overall.
To sum up, the series is definitely a unique concept and I see myself going back to re-read some of the parts--Door Three, for sure, and probably Door One as well. Jasinda Wilder has a compelling writing style and I'll continue to read her books in the future.
I figured I'd review the whole series at the last book instead of individually. Not gonna lie, I'm surprised this didn't melt my iPad, it was that steamy. Book 8 tied it all together, so I can understand the need to read them in order. I'm going to be thinking about this for a while. I can see how this might not be someone's cup of tea, so if you read it, be prepared.
I could read about Conrad & Hannah for another week and not get enough. I cried so hard at the end of Door 7 when we learn that in fact Hannah is in a coma and through Door 8 she has the possibility of not waking to be with her true love, Conrad. Thank you Jasinda & Jade for sharing such a beautiful story with the world. ❤️

Incredibly moving and so well done. I had to know what happened, so I skipped ahead and purchased Book 8. I even skimmed the sex scenes just to get to the meat of it and finish this story in one sitting. One of the best books I've ever read! It goes against my nature not to give away the spoilers, but if you give this punchline away it all comes out of the bag. I'd only read books 3, 5, and part of 7 before I wanted so badly to understand what was going on I had to jump to the end. I'd read other reader's reviews hoping to get a hint and really couldn't find one. A Google AI search helped but really, it only got me even more curious. And when I asked Google AI what was revealed to be the significance of antagonist Charlie in the final story it said there really wasn't one, that the focus is solely on Hannah and Conrad. Well, yes and no, but that really isn't true, and the answer to this and all was incredibly clever. Other reviewers said oh, that was it? I was looking for something more. Not me. I thought this was very well done and honestly, shame on me for not figuring out the punchline on my own. Author Jacinda Wilder said these fantasies were referred to her by a friend she credits as Jade London, and that the Black Room series is unlike anything else she's ever written, that she sat on it and debated publishing it for a year. I'm so glad she took the leap. When something jumps to the top of the pile of the 200 - 300 romances I've read as one of the best, it's really good. You can see why Ms. Wilder broke this into 8 stories because it's LONG. But so good on so many levels. Ok, one spoiler - I do wish Conrad sounded a little more like his fantasy versions but hey, I guess that's life. I'm sure I will go back and read more, maybe even read the whole thing in order, as I wish I'd done the first time around. If you love romance and erotic romance, give this series a shot - you will not be disappointed, and the end is satisfying and tear-jerking.
I went back and read the sex scenes when I had more time. Not all were my cup of tea, but I still love how it all played out.
That was quite the magical mystery ride. With out giving away any spoilers I need to say this was the most unusual concept because although it was a dirty romance most times, to me it was more of a psychological mystery. I was consumed with finding out wtf was really happening to these folks and how they were all connected...some most literally. Dreams or fantasies...reality or fiction...these stories each told us a little something more about the relationships these three...sometimes four characters had. Sometimes tedious but most time very intriguing. I really am concerned Jasinda's love of wine has taken her to another realm of fantasy writing... it was all enjoyable so it can't be a bad thing!!
I received an ARC for an honest review of this work. Where do I begin, the writers didn't disappoint me. The conclusion of this endearing, erotic, heartbreaking story will give you the answers to all your questions. You understand Hannah's vision of the men in her life in Door Eight, very enlightening. Do Hannah and Conrad get their HEA? Read and find out.
this book finally brings the series to conclusion however I have to say this series was a waste of money and time to me. i like some other books by this author so I had high hopes... this series lacks emotion and connection, it has lots of sex but after the first 3 books I began skimming parts because it was so repetitive sadly.
“Once you enter, anything goes. No fantasy--however dark and dirty and depraved it may be--is forbidden. You have no past, no inhibitions, no morals...and no memory. Step through into THE BLACK ROOM.” (Book #1)
“Silence. Perfect, utter silence. A drowning quiet. A longing, deep and unfulfilled, soul-deep, a bone-deep need for something I cannot have; the first sensation. Pang of loss, gnaw of guilt, acid bite of shame, burning heat of lust, a deep delicious soreness in all the right places—all of these sensations roil and coil and mingle together, wedded; the second sensation. I open my eyes; the third sensation. I’m in the room of black doors.” (Book #2)
The Black Room Series By Jasinda Wilder and Jade London kept me enthralled from beginning to end. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this series, but the synopsis intrigued me so much that I went on a one-clicking frenzy and snapped up the entire series to devour- and devour them I did. The books are all quite short, quick and easy reads. But each one packs a punch, keeping you guessing, and completely engrossed by the story. I had so many questions right from the outset. There is a real mysteriousness to the whole story that had me trying to guess where the it was leading, and entirely unsure of the outcome. Each book adds another layer to this complex and intriguing story- there are so many facets, which when layered on top of one another begin to build a truly fascinating story. From book one where we are really not sure where we are, how we got there, or what the heck is happening, the black room, all the doors, all the discoveries, and encounters, book after book, door after door, layer upon layer- things are never quite as they appear- and they way this series/story is pieced together, and the ‘revelation’ at the end was really clever! This book/series is HOT, erotic, dark, delicious, and unputdownable. I read the entire series back to back- and enjoyed every second. This is definitely a story/series I won’t soon forget. It’s one I can see myself revisiting again in the future. Brilliant!
I- I'm spechless. Literally. Bueno, no tanto. Forever.
I wanted MORE! More end story. Epilogue perhaps? Wow just wow. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone else. Just read the books! So much sex but it is just part of the whole thing. One other request... In the epilogue include a section where Hannah can just shred Charlie. It would things all better
What a beautifully, complicated and complex love story with lots and lots of sex. Sometimes sweet, sometimes dirty. Other times very, VERY dirty. All of it good!!!
This very different than anything else I've read from Jasinda Wilder. I don't think it's for everyone. It definitely was for me though!!!
Possibly one of the most romantic, hot, sexy love story I have read. This series was beautiful and sweet and keep you never wanting it to end. Thank You for your incredible writing and story telling.
The final door has Hannah fighting her way back to Conrad. This was another great series by Jasinda Wilder. No matter what genre she writes, you’re sure to find love, heartache and everything in-between.
Although I didn't quite like the beginning of this 'door', the story soon improved. It's such an excellent series! I've read all eight 'doors' now and my compliments to the authors; it is really something else, and very well thought of too.
There was a hint of what had happened to Hannah in book 7 (door 7), which I immediately picked up on and it set me wondering (and it turned out I was right) :-)
I'm surprised and at the same time I'm not. It had to be this...... What I loved most about this series of books is that I'm surprised at every corner, the author has truly made something unique and out of the ordinary.
The feeling of love between Hannah and Conrad is almost touchable, it shines through the whole series.
At first I didn't know if I liked the series very much when I read the first book but I know this authors work so I stumbled through and now I'm happy I did.
Very good work, I think this will linger in me a while and I like that.......
I'm torn!!! I figured out what was happening a few books back, so the conclusion isn't really a problem for me. It was expected. I kind of hoped it'd turn out the way it did. My disappointment lies in the quick conclusion. We learn about HIM to a point. But I feel as though I need another few pages to garner a little more information. A few "whys" answered. Maybe perhaps a reread to fill in some blanks, but I'm not sure that'll help. I think there's more story. Or maybe I just want more story. But otherwise, great storyline!!! Oh and the otherworldly amounts of sex make sense now!
What a fantastic series. I have never read a story with such a unique concept. When I started the series I wasn't sure if this was going to be about sexual fantasies and thus all the doors but there is much more to it. Once you realize there is a common denominator, it reels you in and you just devour each instalment until the end. Just loved it. Great job Jasinda!
