The deadliest virus in human history isn’t finished with us yet.
An ancient virus has just unleashed a terrifying new threat on the surviving population: a resilient organism that has been dormant for millions of years.
An organism we are not prepared to fight.
At a remote research base in Greenland, Paul Nassai and a small group of survivors discover prehistoric animals frozen in the ice. The creatures are infected with an invasive parasite that can adapt itself to any host.
As Paul races to find a cure, survivors of the viral apocalypse in a transformed America band together to face an army of infected humans controlled by an old foe — a tyrant who will stop at nothing to rule what is left of a dying world.
Zero Dawn is the sequel to the best selling Genesis Plague, and continues in its predecessor’s footsteps by offering you an action-packed post-apocalyptic adventure where the very soul of humanity hangs in the balance.
Samuel's horror novels usually focus on the epic theme of good versus evil but on a human scale. He likes stories that show ordinary people facing extraordinary odds, with enough heart-pumping action to keep the pages turning.
Many of his books will be or have been revised, enhanced, and re-released under the name Samuel Best.
I've been a long-time fan of Sam Best's work. His ability to create a fast-paced thriller has never failed to entertain, and this is yet another example. A virus has killed off most of the human population, and a parasite is trying to take over the survivors. From a bomb-blasted landscape to the harsh ice of the Arctic, two bands of survivors fight different battles that are a small part of a larger war. If you enjoy Sci-Fi thrillers, I highly recommend this series to you. Although I did receive this book from the author, I wrote this review of my own accord.
This book was every bit as good as the first one..."Genesis Plague"!! I encourage you to read both. I was hooked from the very first chapter...and I loved the characters. The premise of the book was both fun AND scary....and there are enough personalities to both love and hate. Couldn't put it down! Thank you Mr Best! Please keep writing! 👍
I bought this immediately after reading Book 1 (Genesis Plague) because I had to know how it all turned out. I was not disappointed. The story continues two months after the end of the first book as Paul, Cassidy and a handful of other survivors fight for their lives and to try to eliminate the plague that could still wipe out the remains of humanity.
Seriously loved this series, kind of wishing there was another book. I honestly wouldn't change a thing, would recommend this series to any lover of sci-fi, horror or fantasy.... actually I'd recommend It to anyone. Great work.
What an amazing ride. Sam made the characters real and the story was never dull. This was such a great story and I would highly recommend for anyone that’s a fan of dystopian novels that are unlike the rest out there.
More fun and games with parasites. I like to say that everything ends up wonderful but anything that wiped out that many people is gonna be a problem. But without giving away too much detail, the book does end well.
I disliked that there were only 2 of these books. His writing flows effortlessly with NO errors, that I found. Want a tight story to read? These will work!
I got a copy of the book from the Author in exchange for a review, which I am very happy to provide. To say I read the book would be wrong since I pretty much devoured it, I had eagerly awaited the conclusion to the series and I was not disappointed. However I would recommend for anybody who is not familiar with the first book to read that first, because this one picks up where the other one left off. It has a quick pace with lots of action and gore, to be honest almost to quick for me because I wanted it to last much longer, and I wanted to know what happened to some of the other characters that were left behind. But who knows maybe a new book could go into what life is like after the Apocalypse? Either way, very entertaining.
I feel like I waited forever for this sequel to come out. Sam Best does not disappoint. All of my questions from the first book were answered. The only question I have left is: How can someone pull on a pair of latex gloves the day after having one arm amputated? lol. If you are looking for gripping entertainment, grab a copy of Zero Dawn.
"Operation Zero Dawn...If we don't win, there won't be a tomorrow."
This is book two of a two book series (as far as I can tell this is all that's planned for by the author). I finished book one GENESIS PLAGUE right before this one and enjoyed it. And I recommend anyone thinking of reading this book to read book one first. It's not absolutely necessary but why miss half of a good story?
I liked book one as mentioned but I LOVED book two. It is action packed all the way through and I especially liked the character of Cassie in this book. Dr. Paul Nassai is back but he and Cassie switch off telling the story from each of their own points of view.
It's two months later than book one and the virus has wiped out over five billion people - over half the world's population. The virus that caused the global pandemic in the first book is still around but there are mutations and ramifications from those changes.
Loose ends are pretty well tied up at the end of this book, which I appreciate, so I really do believe there are only these two books planned.
I noticed quite a few proofreading errors in the first book. I was still able to enjoy the story but they are there. And I saw errors in this book, too. Not as many but the author really does need to find a better proofreader.
So if you like post-apocalyptic fiction, stories about pandemics, thrillers, action fiction, give this series a try. It's a fun, exciting way to spend your leisure time.
