I’ve just done re-read and this time it didn’t hold the same appeal. I think last time it was just the right book at the right time. This time the editing mistakes bothered me more and it was definitely more of a 3* read for me.

Original review and 4* rating.

OMG.
That sums up my feelings about this book. It's crazy, far-fetched with some difficult scenes (one in particular I struggled with but more about that later) despite there being a lot I didn't like this book held me completely from the first page to the last.
Lily is beautiful yet she's married to a pig of a man who lives the life of a single man despite the fact that they have two children together. Not only does her husband Marshall disappear for huge periods of time but when he's back he doesn't touch her. I've no idea why considering she's beautiful and willing but he doesn't.
Anyway Marshall has borrowed five million dollars from the wrong man and he's come to collect.
Lucifer is not a man to be crossed and while he wants his five million dollars he also wants Marshalls wife Lily. He takes Lily and the two children as his own and despite her best intentions Lily melts the second he touches her.
For all it's faults I found I loved this book, I couldn't put it down I was held and completely mesmerised by it I absolutely loved how much Lucifer wanted Lily and this alone guaranteed I'd enjoy this.
I loved it so much that despite having a huge to-read list I'm moving straight onto the next book 'Stealing Amy'

I have no idea why I have read this book... or why I even started to read it, or why on earth I didn't drop it. Hell if I know!

Curiosity killed the cat?! :)) In this case, I wasn't killed, though. It only damaged my brain cells :))

I once read a classic book about a man selling his wife, The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy. It was an epic read. Maybe, the idea of "a man selling his wife" sounded interesting again and that is why I started this book but I think it couldn't have been more wrong for me. I am the wrong person for this book and it is the wrong book for me.

Think of a gangster, a killer, a man who lives illegally and brutally; torturing and killing people and similar stuff. He takes the wife and children of a man who owes him 5 million dollars. His reason is that he is extremely attracted to her. And he gets more and more obsessed with her.

She, on the other hand, is first shocked and frustrated while all this is happening but even at first night, she sees that he doesn't need to rape her because she is also attracted to him physically. In the following days, during the day, she thinks all this is insane but at nights, she cannot resist him. All because she never had a good sex life with her husband before and because this monster of a man is too attractive and skillful in bed to resist.

So, their weird affair begins and goes on as sick as possible until And "Happy F*cking End"...

So, I recommend that you save yourself from this torture.

I will add some quotes for you to see if this kind of an affair may appeal to you. Maybe it is me or maybe it is the book, see yourselves...

“You can’t have us. We’re not objects you can own or trade away at whim. I am person , a person with rights, and I will not stand for this!”

Long, strong fingers going to the bottom of his suit jacket. He begins to unbutton his jacket as he asks me, “Who’s going to stop me?”

***

“One other thing, don’t try going to the police,” I warn. “I own them. Don’t go to your friends or neighbors for help, I will kill them. If you try to escape me, you will regret it.”

***

"I don’t give a fuck. Right or wrong. Black or white. It’s all in the eye of the beholder. In my world, I see something I want, I take it. I took you.”

***

Maybe if I wasn’t so sexually frustrated… Maybe if I had gotten to enjoy sex more than once a year, I’d have the strength or the fortitude to stand up to him. But I don’t. I just don’t have it. I’m a weak, pitiful woman.

**

This man, he is my weakness. He is my kryptonite. I’m drawn to him. Like the moth to the flame. He’s going to burn me and consume me. Inside I know he’s going to hurt me, but there’s something wrong with my wiring. I don’t even try to escape.

**

I’m happy with my new family, ready-made as it is. I have a woman I can barely control my baser instincts around, two small children who are becoming… A welcome intrusion? The two little living, thinking, sentient beings are growing on me.

***

I think I’ve been drunk on sex. The past two weeks have gone by in a haze of orgasms and ecstasy. I was deprived for so long I feel like I’ve been overdosing on endorphins, and it’s seriously impacting my decision making capabilities.

***

I truly don’t think Lily understood when I took them I was not doing this on a whim, they wouldn’t be cast aside as soon as I grew bored. No, I have taken them on as mine, for good or bad they will be with me until our ends.

***

“Feel what you do to me, Lily. You make me fucking weak. You’re like a fucking drug. Your smell, your touch, your taste. I’m addicted. No other woman will do for me.”

P.S.

2 stars (maybe even less now) All was going well (for the most part) until the strip club scene

Grammar mistakes? Yup. There are some- I can overlook some of those. OTT protective/possessive H? Sign me up as long as he treats the h good and there’s no crazy shenanigans going on. But going to a strip club as a first date and allowing OW to touch you? I’m OUT!

Let me back up. Lily was used as ransom when her good-for-nothing-cheating-of-a-husband couldn’t pay the debt he owes Lucifer. Not only is she used, but her two kids as well. Lucifer (Matthew) had already seen pictures of her and thought she was gorgeous. He capitalizes on Lily’s husband being a selfish sleazeball and takes his family away from him- and now he can claim them as his own.

Lily’s world turns upside down. She knows her husband cheats on her (🤢) yet she still wants him to touch her?? Because she hasn’t had any in a while and misses the intimacy… Giiiirl… go get tested to make sure you don’t have STDs lol (apparently, it had been a year since they were intimate, so she was good). So she’s forced to go with Lucifer, but not before she has sex with him (okay… I’ll admit… that was pretty hot because she was asleep when the touching happened but eventually she wakes up).

SPOILERS AHEAD- BEWARE lol

I was enjoying the book, for the most part. I mean- the chemistry between Matthew and Lily is intense🔥. As soon as he saw her picture, he wanted her. As soon as she saw him, she wanted him as well. I mean, I even made a list of all the things I was loving (CONSTANTLY pleasing HER (especially with his mouth and fingers 😉), dubcon, somnophilia (kind of lol she ends up waking up) biting, marking, primal, alphaness,neck/hair grabbing, pinning down, clothes/underwear ripping, refusing to use protection because he wants her pregnant, attentiveness after sex, endearments, tying up… so many things I love), but it got ruined when he takes her to the strip club.

Lucifer decides that for their OFFICIAL first date, they’ll go to a strip club (even writing this gives me the nasty icky shudders). Um… WHAT?!?!? 🤔HOW is this a GOOD idea? Sure… he has to conduct some business 🙄. Yes, strip clubs are profitable 🙄but really? Really Lucifer? 🤢🤬. Then… THEN, he allows some hoar to touch him!! Meanwhile, Lily just sits there quietly, like an idiot, because he’s doing business and she needs to be still 🤬🤬🤬. This is when I got angry. Say something! Do something! Don’t just sit there and be okay with it!!!! Gawd!!!

And, AND… when she kind of WAKES UP and decides she needs to get away, she goes to a closed off bathroom and can’t go anywhere. She gets upset and realizes she wants to leave all of this behind and not be with Lucifer (good! Make him suffer and regret things Lily👏🏻). But then, when she goes back to Lucifer (her bodyguard forces her to go back), he realizes she’s upset and tells her

“…the sight of the other women has done nothing for me but left me wanting you…” 🙄🙄🙄(this COULD have been romantic, but I was too upset to care at this point)

He even states that he should’ve known bringing her here would bring our her insecurities… YA THINK??? Who wants to see their man in a strip club with all these beautiful women around them?? And then to have one touch him and he doesn’t try to stop it?? Imagine what happens when she’s not around?!? If this is in front of her, what happens when she’s at home?!? 🤬🤢🙈

Oh and the KICKER is that he tells her “I know what you need” and proceeds to fhawk her. She tells him she wants to leave, he tells her she’ll never leave because she’s his (normally, I would be swooning, but I was so pissed, I couldn’t even appreciate it) and then he phucks her… and she doesn’t even bat a damn eyelash 😑🙄. In fact, she doesn’t really fight him much. We get the internal monologue where she WANTS to fight him, but really, she always gives in, especially with s€x. Say NO and MEAN IT lily!

At least her ex hubby gets tortured (albeit in front of her) before he dies for selling his family 🤷🏻‍♀️. Lucifer also divorces her from Marshall and then marries her, all without her consent (I mean, kind of swoony, but then also like what the phuck). And she just accepts it all 🙈🤔🥴. She gets mad… but then she’s like “well there’s nothing I could do about it now” 🙄. Where is her backbone? Gah. Yes, she craves security but, at this point, she is just holding all of her feelings in, has no backbone, and spending his money DOESNT FIX ANYTHING!

Trust me- I’m all for a j/p protective H… but I also want the h to have a say in things… and a backbone. She always ALWAYS gives in!!! I needed there to be a push/pull with them. And there wasn’t 😒. Maybe the book needed to be longer, but I was left feeling icky and unsatisfied.

I need to reread Simon’s book (book 4) because THAT one was amazing compared to this one 🤢. Although they go to the SAME strip club, he doesn’t like to be touched by anyone or touch bodily fluids (not even to sit down in the chair lol) because they’re all gross and it makes HIM sick to be there. He’s the type of H I need in my books. Stupid Lucifer 😑😒🤬.

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-dubcon
-no official cheating, but I still felt nasty about this all 😑😒🤢🤬
-owd- the damn Strip club incident that ruined the book for me 🤬🤢😒
-a lot of people get killed
-the h’s ex hubby gets tortured/killed (graphically at first then it’s glossed over while the h has her back to it all because she’s pregnant and can’t stand the smell/sight)

note: there are major and minor spoilers for this novel in my review.

.·:·.☽✧ 0.3 stars ✧☾.·:·.

I don't care. I don't care about Lilith, I don't care about Matthew, and I definitely do not care about Marshall. Adam and Evelyn were the only saving graces for this novel.

before I share this quote with you, I decided to put it in the spoiler tag because I'd feel sorry for anyone who had to read this quote without having some type of warning.

who told Matthew he could abolish a whole bloodline because one family member fucked up? more importantly, who said it was okay to keep this speech in the book? there are a million things wrong with what he just said, so I won't try and analyze it. but I hope that quote gives you an understanding of how hard this book is trying to be something.

whether that something is something good may be subjective to the reader. but my point is that this book tries wayyyy too hard to be something worth my time, when it obviously isn't that. Matthew tries too hard to be a badass that also has feelings. Lily tries too hard to be an independent and intelligent person when she's just annoying. and this book tries too hard to keep my attention by adding a weird plot twist at the end and giving me cringy sex scenes.

so as I said in the beginning of this review, I don't care. I don't care about Lilly because she whines too much over nothing. I don't care about Mathew because he was a boring cardboard cut-out of a badass character, but didn't have any badass qualities. and I most definitely did not care about Marshall because he was a wimp who deserves nothing. I might continue this series, but I truly doubt it.

So I've had this on my tbr list for a while and finally today, I decided to give it a go. I don't even know how to rate this book. It definitely ensnared me. I couldn't put it down. But I have to say, this is one fucked up relationship.

Lucifer/Matthew is one bad dude. He is seriously one messed up mofo. He kills people. He beats people. He kills people's family members...he erases their bloodline from this earth. I like an antihero as good as the next person but even I was kind of cringing.

I love how he was obsessed with Lily from only seeing her picture. He was determined to have her one way or another. I am glad he never forced her (we'll get to that in a minute) but there were times I thought this poor girl has absolutely no say-so in her life. He rules it all. I also loved that there was a tender side to him with Lily. He truly took care of her at times but boy at other times I was worried for her. It just was not a healthy relationship. And at the end...he forces Lily to stay and watch , I mean...WTF was that? Why? It was obviously not a place she needed to be. Usually these guys try to keep their women away from it. But whatever...I was too busy gagging to worry about her.

Lily...I don't even know where to begin with this girl. I mean some strange guy walks into your bedroom, threatens your husband (who by the way, gives you and your kids to said stranger) and somehow you're all wet and turned on. She struggled in her mind from day to day but her "body betrayed her". Yeah...just no. I mean I realize the guy was good looking and hot but your life has ended as you know it and you can't help but be in heat most of the time? So, no, he never had to force her to have sex. She was wet and willing every single time. Oh, and WTF with that Cherry girl? Lily should have punched her in the face. I wanted to see her throw a little jealous fit. But after refusing to take her home, Lucifer just fucks her into submission and says "see you're all I need". Ummm...I still didn't like the chick all up on him.

I guess I would have just like to see them develop a little more in their actual relationship than just having sex all the time. I'm an insta-love kind of gal, but in this case, I just did not feel it. He was obsessed and she was sex starved.

Now, having said all that, you'd think I hated the book, right? Well I actually didn't hate it. Yeah there were things I'd have liked to see done differently...maybe a little less sex (yes I said that) and a little more developing of a relationship. But overall, it kept my interest and I couldn't read it fast enough. It was kind of a messed up ride but I still enjoyed it. I will definitely be picking up Andrew's story.

4 Stars!

Okay, I was loving this book in the beginning. It has an uber alpha male who is extremely possessive and obsessive of the h. He goes through questionable lengths to make her his. Lucifer is extremely dominant, and violent towards his enemy's, as the king of the corrupt underworld he has to be ruthless. But towards Lily he turns the violence within into a deep protectiveness towards her and her children.

Here's a little taste of Lucifer...

"If anyone or anything were to try to come between me and her they will die a very violent death."

"You belong to me. You're fucking home is wherever I am."

"I'll never let you go. Never. They'll have to pry you from my cold, dead hands"

My only complaint is that the end was super abrupt, it felt very rushed and it just wasn't the greatest conclusion. I felt that many things were still unresolved and a sweet epilogue can't make up for that.

Great read! Definitely recommend if you are in the mood for something a bit darker ;)

Absolutely adored this!
Lily is trapped in a bad marriage with a cheating husband. As she's about to end it, her pig of a husband Marshall sells her and her kids to Lucifer, the mafia in exchange for his debt.
I expected this to be dark and gloomy but the book was amazing. Though Lily remained married to Marshall in first half of the book, she'd been celibate for a long time - and Lucifer falls for her hard and fast.
He gets pretty obsessed with her to the point he adopts the kids, has super hot no glove sex with her, gets her divorced and marries her- all the while worshipping her.
Such amazing hot scenes- and a wonderful epilogue.
Safe with exceptions - though the hero and heroine are 100% loyal to one another- she's still married to her asshole ex for half of the book
4.75/5

DNF @ 70%

Cheesy and unrealistic dialogue. Try hard thinking and actions to make them seem tough, but it gave me the opposite effect. The word "sexy" is used multiple time to describe people and things which is a big time pet peeve of mine. Heroine sleeps with the hero literally a day after he holds her captive and has big time BBS, using the excuse it's been "months and months" since she's been laid *eye roll*, but has never had someone go down on her until the hero even though she is married and 27, like wtf? Hero takes heroine to a strip club for their first date pretty much, and let's one of the strippers rub all up on him right in front of her, then the heroine has sex with him like 5 minutes after. There are also some grammar and spelling errors. I dnfed after the strip club part though, this book, nor the hero, just aren't good enough to make me want to read about a stripper rubbing all over the hero already more than halfway into the story.

I was recommended this book by a friend and initially reading the blurb I thought oh hell, I'm not sure, but my friend knows my love of true love realistic romances so I gave it a go because I trust her. OH MY GOD I FLOVED IT! 5* truly isn't enough. I love love love love LOVED it.

Lucifer falls in love with Lily just seeing her photo. He knows she has kids and he instantly loves them too. Now that might sound a bit huh, but he EARNS their love and PROVES himself to all three and lily doesn't just give in, she grows emotionally towards him. Her p*ssy of an ex husband didn't appreciate what he had and finally someone does and even the kids bloom being around him.

I honestly would give this book 50* if I could. The plot is just genius and that double 007 moment. Oh.my.god! Genius again......did I mention that the ex husband is an as*shole? Because he really is so I cheered when the Christmas nutcracker visited him.

The blurb makes it sound more sinister than it is in my opinion. Sure it's dark but the contrast of this no holds barred mafia gangster and his dark actions vs how sweet, patient, considerate, genuine etc he was with lily and the kids made it just beautiful. That this sinister man can cherish and love something like he does......it's beautiful!

So yeah I'd recommend it. In fact it's going to be on my re read list from now on. This is by FAR one of my fav books this year.

This was…. Not good

I’m not entirely sure how it’s possible, but this book just kept getting worse and worse as it progressed. The end was just LUDICROUS! I gave some serious thought to throwing in the towel at 89%, but by then, I was so close to the end that I just skimmed and finished it.

Neither Lucifer or Lilly were likeable or believable characters. There were grammatical mistakes. The plot was a mess (especially at the end). Lilly and Lucifer’s connection was literally non-existent. They basically had sex like 3 times and then Lucifer was saying he was in love with her. Aside from boning, they barely even spoke to each other.

There was a lot towards the end that didn’t make sense, but this part really bothered me

(SPOILERS AHEAD):

Lilly is kidnapped and her kidnapper LOOKS at her and says “you didn’t tell me she was pregnant”. Lilly had only been with Lucifer for a month or so at that point. SHE didn’t even know she was pregnant. Unless the guy was psychic, there was no way that he could know that! It made me think that this book was written by a man who doesn’t understand how pregnancy works!

Lucifer, aka Matthew, is some kind of mob boss, though it's never really explained who he's affiliated with. We know he has power though, and it's enough to form alliances or to start wars. I got the impression he's mostly a big time loan shark, and Lily's husband made a mistake when he borrowed five million dollars from him.
There's some serious insta-obsession going on. From a picture alone, Lucifer decides he not only wants Lily for his wife, but he also wants her two children--a ready made family. She doesn't put up much of a fight either. Sure, there's the internal struggle of I should leave but how? He's got guards, and how would I get away with my kids? But even with that logic in mind, she's pretty willing in the sack.
It's your pretty standard story, though I do love how OTT possessive Lucifer is. The violence he rains down on any and all who threaten his family is pretty awe inspiring, but Lily was just so meh that I had trouble connecting.
There was also this... "There's a big gaping hole I've been carrying around inside me, and right now he's filling it." I realize she's not talking about her vajayjay, but because they happen to be having sex when she says this, it made me laugh out loud.

Talk about your possessive heroes! If there were an award for such things as possessiveness, Lucifer would definitely win it hands down. Once he decides to make Lily his own, there is nothing to stop him. Not even her! The lengths he goes to is mind boggling and in a dark a twisted way, swoony. Lol! This story starts lightning fast and never slows down. It is dark and violent and a bit of dubious consent included. With the exception of a rather weird ending, I loved everything about it.

I love dark reads and this wasn't a dark read! Not even dark romance! I have a love/hate relationship with Mr. Lucifer.. Obsessive and protective of Lily/Children. But come on, as the reader, I'm to believe; just overnight, one look at a picture, going to collect a debt, make an offer, this bad-ass ruthless man, just turned softie! Ridiculous! Then to come off so dominate one minute, then within seconds all vanilla talk! WTF?! No, damn it, you stay being dominant NOT vanilla! I Can't!

And don't get me started on Lily's, dumb sex-starved ass!! Smh. I totally understand this big bad ass dude, looking like, a sexy Viking, Alexander Skarsgård, {sigh} wanting you but that don't mean you just give up the goodies! "Oh, Mr. Lucifer, Take Me Now!" Hell No, have a little fight! Play hard to get! Seem like she was getting all these fantastic orgasms and totally forgot why she was there and her children!! Strip club scene - Mrs. Cherry Bomb with the big tits, would have been gutted with my sharp stiletto!! Just saying! I hate when women are so fuckin' disrespectful! I skimmed-through a few pages (Sex Scenes Hot But To Damn Much!) I wanted the action, the torture, the murder, Oh my!! But I did enjoy what happened to the ex-husband, Marshall.. And besides, he was a frickin' coward! But the way, Lily acted! Thank God this book was only 99 cents!!

My Favorite Quote:
“What are you going to do to my children? Are you some sort of pervert? A child mole…” Raising my hand, I stop her train of thought right there. “No, neither my men nor I are in any way such disgusting, vile things. That is a death sentence in my circle. I will personally kill any man who harms children like that.”

It was an ok read.
Thought H was a little mean to h
Too chummy with the strippers
And not enough talking between the two character.
A lot of head talking but not much interaction between the two beside sex. I felt no love connection between them.
H was obsessed with her, but only seem like for sex, and h spent most of the book hating herself for likening the sex...
Yea not enough love

Despite the hero's extremely dark behavior in meting out swift revenge for wrongs done to him, I fell in love with Lucifer. His ruthlessness, his power, his reasoning, his confidence, his possessiveness, his devotion were all simply beguiling to me.

It's a shockingly harsh book, but I loved Lucifer's relentless determination to care for Lilith and her children. He gave her absolutely no choice in the matter and eventually wore her down to his way of thinking. I liked how he claimed her immediately and knew she was the only woman for him, and I really liked how he proved that to her, in many ways.

This book isn't for everyone, but it's going on my all-time-favorites shelf because I was that awed by the power dynamics of these characters. I loved Lucifer and Lilith, Adam and Evie, and will certainly hope for more books featuring Andrew, Simon, and Peter in the future.

This was a crazy rough and wild ride!!! I mean Matthew/Lucifer was clinically nuts but it works. If you don't like lots of murder and torture against your enemies, this book is not for you. If you love when someone finally gives a horrible villain what they deserve, then you're going to love this book. This was a hot little read.

Fk on a pogo stick!!! Now when i started this book i was okay it wasn't really a dark dark romance.. and had good drama.. but the more i read the more i had mix feelings about..

Lucifer/Matthew i liked him at first he knew what he wanted when he saw Lily's picture when he was doing research on her crappy husband who stole 5 mill from him, love the OTT alphaness.. what made me sorta kinda dislike him.. he was toooo bossy took Lily to a strip club as a first date (business meeting) had her divorce her ex and married to him without her knowing and i hated how he called lily his property when someone kidnapped her.. why couldn't he say his woman?

Lily i was happy she fought back couple times with Lucifer but then gave up wherever Lucifer would be sexual with her guess a year without sex makes you a puddle of goo for sex lol Like girl you could have atleast one time escaped. Beside that i really wish she divorced her husband sooner.. a year with no intimate moments knowing your husband is cheating on you? And you still stick around? Girl.. thats sad..

What i loved!! Hands down the dirty steamy sex, the relationship between Lucifer and the kids couple moments between lily and Lucifer.... thats pretty much it.. i was okay with lily watching Lucifer torture her ex husband.(even if she hated seeing it). He did deserve it he was going to sell their children to pedos & he was going to sell her again. this is a first for me I'm okay with the sorta kinda cheating between Lucifer/Lily since Lucifer took lily and the kids before she could even go to her lawyer to divorce her crappy ex but idk when lucifer had those divorce papers already signed? He could've did that before even meeting her or before he took her so idk that timeline..

I don't think I'll read the others in the series they don't really intrest me..

No ow/ om drama (her ex hubby), kinda idk cheated?, drama, secondary charas, sexy times, no virgins

Recommend- eh maybe

"The quicker you come to terms with belonging to me, the quicker you will find happiness in surrender."

Matthew and Lily's story was quite vanilla, possessively sweet, not that dark, except for the executions and the torture. The characters have quite intriguing names, Lucifer/ Lilith and the kids, Adam/Evie and I enjoyed this book. I really wanted to know how .

1/5⭐

Not impressed

How are there so many 5 stars...????? The "love" between these two was forced, he didn't feel at all human nor like he really cared about her. Why let some slutty woman rub up on you in front of the woman you"love" then dismiss her feelings completely!?

I'm just all around disappointed & wish I never spent my money on this book.

I was really intrigued by the book and I couldn't put it down.
Lucifer was J/P and OTT caveman. But then it came that Strip Club scene! It was a huge turn off for me. He didn't even apologies, like who take his girlfriend out in a date to a Strip Club!!

Prove to me this wasn't written by a 16 year old girl imagining what it'd be like to date the 18 year old school bad boy

4 "LUCIFER THE DEVIL" STARS!

Man oh man, I LOVED this book to the banter, the jokes, the steamy scenes, the violence bloodshed to the big-gentle-giant-playing-tea-party-with-4-year-old-child! This book has it all and I gave it 4 stars for keeping it really light yet silently disturbed with the mafia thing going on!

Here's my casting for the oh, so beautiful so strong so sexy, Lucifer/Matthew

description

He's so beautiful it hurts to look upon him. The kind of beauty that's so strong, so deeply felt, it's like experiencing a piece of music that moves you and straight into the sun at the same time.

Lucifer is the boss/leader of the outfit. He's ruthless and unforgiving- a perfect example of a mafia don. At first, he looks menacing and someone you won't say "NO" but that front is only applicable outside of his house. Marshall - scumbag - owed him a large sum of money and didn't pay on time so he took matter with his own hands and along the way, he found his everything. Marshall's wife is what he has been looking for all this time - along with two children, Adam and Evie. This man is a keeper! At the comfort of his home, he wants his wife to dress nicely, and laughter of children filled the silence is what his life is for. Before all the craziness, he had nothing except work, wanton women and booze.

"I'm happy with my new family, ready-made as it is. I have a woman I can barely control my baser instincts around, two small children who are becoming....a welcome intrusion? But they are growing on me."

Lilith Meredith / Lily

description

Lily!! GOD I LOVE THIS WOMAN GO WOMAN! She's a mother of two. Before she been "taken care of" by Lucifer, she was just a lonely/sexually frustrated woman with a pot-belly good-for-nothing man. She's way too kind to divorce that a-hole of a husband. When Lucifer took a liking of her, she's not fond of becoming his possession. But, she easily fall to the devil's trap because that man worshipped her like a goddess and she can't say she hated it ;)

The romance between this two is scorching hot! Lily keeps on pushing Lucifer but that man knows how to make women go all weak with his charming grin. GOD! I honestly love Lucifer, he's so true to his words and he protect what's his and that is his ready made family.

I must say, I loved when the epilogue has HEA + pregnancy it makes life so much beautiful with unicorns farting rainbows! Or in this case, babies farting.

This book has everything from violence to humor. I laughed out loud at little munchkin Evie forcing grown-adult man to play tea party and paint his nail pink!

"I do feel sorry for Peter though; it seems he is the one sought out for tea times and makeup parties. More than once I have had to send him off to home because his nails were pink. How can a man go about collecting and taking someone out when he has bright pink fingernails?"

There's not one flaw I can find to downgrade this book. Next book will feature Andrew - one of Lucifer most trusted man and once again, OTT possessive alpha male at your service!

These two writers have done an epic work together. This book is dark, violent, and romantic at the same time. The intimate scenes have been written super professional and the characters are developed in an acceptable way. Considering the story and the writing structure I really think the rate of this book in goodreads isn't fair at all.
I expected at least 4.5
