Rough Hand

Rate this book
A standalone romance with a guaranteed HEA from bestselling author Olivia Chase... LEVI I’m no good for her. And she’s probably no good for me, either. But hell if I don’t find myself wanting her right now. My c*ck is slamming against my zipper at the thought of thrusting my tongue in her mouth, swallowing her moans… She’s so pure that I can almost see the glow of white around her. I’m too wicked, too dirty to touch her. But there’s something about the way I can feel her emotions pouring from her, like she’s a broken dam spilling over, that makes my chest tight. No one has ever made me feel this way. Like she could slide under my skin and see all of me with her own innocent vulnerability. Like I could be in real danger of losing my self-control, the walls that have protected me well for my whole life. I can’t let her break me apart, not when I’ve worked so hard, so long, to keep myself glued together. To be strong and impenetrable. No, I’ll just keep my distance. Surely that won’t be a problem. Even if she does live right across the street from my shop. ALEXA I’ve never had this feeling before, this burning need to be around someone as much as I can. When we touch, I want to keep on touching. When he’s inside me, our limbs tangled together, our sweat-slicked bodies connected in the most intimate way possible, I feel like I’ve found my other half. Yeah, I’m falling for him. Head over heels, all the clichés. I’m falling hard for Levi, and he’s working just as hard to keep himself from being vulnerable with me. Does this make me a fool, or can I even hope that he might start to open up to me? He’s so scared to open up to anyone. So scared to dig into the things that hurt him in his past. I just want to help him be happy. If only he’d drop all his walls and talk to me, he could let it go and move on. Will I ever be happy with Levi? Right or wrong, I need more. I need more, but the problem is, walking away from Levi makes me feel like I’ll end up with nothing at all…

I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. I didn't realize it but it is a part of the Beckett Boys series, same town although the only connection is the Outlaw's bar. Cute read without unnecessary drama.

Alexa and her sisters have lost both parents and move to a new city to start over. She is just out of college and her sisters are still in highschool. She applies for a job at Levi's motorcycle shop but he shoots her down saying she wouldn't fit in. Meeting again at Outlaws later they can't keep their hands off each other but end up leaving separately. When he sees she is working at a male hair salon he talks her into coming to working for him, doubling what ever she is making. She agrees because she needs the money for her and her sisters.

After several weeks of working together they give in to their attraction. They both have the traumatic loss of parents in their past that put walls up. The wall around Levi forces him to ultimately push her away after an argument in the shop. She loses him and her job. After they both deal with their past issues they are able to work things out and get their HEA.

This was the first book by Olivia Chase that I've read and it was quite enjoyable. Levi and Alexa's story was well written and interesting, in my opinion it could have been longer to show some of the struggle's they had as a couple, but of course we all want more when we enjoy a story. Interested to see what book 2 in this series will bring.

Loved it.

I really enjoyed Alexa and Levi's story. Hard as nails guy who falls for the big sister fighting to raise her two younger sisters the right way. They both have demons, but it makes the story great.

I started off enjoying this book but then I found myself losing some interest in it. As I continued reading I felt that Levis' character, although hot and sexy, began to bore me with his damaged bad boy persona. It dragged on too long and took away from the story.

Aside from that one aspect, the storyline was very good, the sex scenes were hot and steamy and there was a HEA. I have enjoyed Olivia Chase's other books but this one just fell a little short for me. I would still recommend this book and I look forward to reading the others in the series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on November 16, 2017.

Rough Hand was a pretty good story. Levi and Alexa both have suffered from loss. They both find ways to cope the best way possible. Their first encounter isn't ideal but they soon meet again and hit it off perfectly. Levi is closed off until he almost loses Alexa, then he comes to his senses. Alexa mends old relationship as well as Levi and then they enjoy their HEA. That's really most of the story in nutshell. It was shorter than I expected. I read the kindle unlimited version which also includes bonus content.

If you've read the Beckett Brother's This story follows a similar pattern. Levi and Alexa's pasts though...much more emotional and developed in this Olivia Chase book. I throughly enjoyed this story.

✨5 Stars✨-Amazing (couldn't put the book down-dangerous addiction),

Dual POV; Standalone; 17+readers; HEA. No cliffhanger.

What an amazing read. It tug at my heartstrings. It had it's sad moments and even made me tear up a little. Levi lives up to the definition of a strong, caring man. Alexa is a brave woman who has been dealt a heavy hand in life and she's strong enough to face it head on. A great turn of events will have you rooting for a happy ending. LOVE LEVI AND ALEXA!!

Not sure why

I loved the Beckett Boys novels, they're compelling, upbeat and hot. This story felt like it was written early on (debut?) Or had a less-skilled editor. The adjectives were awkward, as were the sexy scenes, it often felt like the author was using a thesaurus for synonyms rather than writing herself.

I liked this story. Both Alexa and Levi had horrible pasts. Levi was more or less unwilling to open up while Alexa was more open. Wish it was a little longer so we got more of a closure on the Uncle and other issues.

4-4.5 stars. Great book that takes place in Rock Bridge where the Beckett boys are from. We don't actually see the boys, but they talk about Outlaws and the town. I loved Levi and Alexa. The book got a little deep about 3/4 of the way thru but it was still awesome! A must read if you have read the Beckett Boys books.
