Stricken
The world as we know it died nearly a thousand years ago. From the ashes of civilization rose the city of Darkota. Those who live within Darkota's safe walls greatly value physical perfection. With affordable cosmetic surgery and genetic enhancement, only the Stricken, the poorest Darkotians, cannot afford to look flawless. They carry their physical imperfections with shame. The richest and most powerful of the city are the Elite, and the richest family of the Elite are the Calcairs.
Vyka Calcair's father was assassinated when she was very young. He was a politician that fought for human rights, especially for those of the Stricken. Vyka sees the city in a different light than the other Elite. Now, she is fully grown and trying to find her place in a world on the brink of chaos.
Welcome to the world within the wall.
