How it’s possible to be attracted to a man that I can’t stand?
Christian came into my store, The Green Vegan Shop, with a t-shirt saying: I didn’t claw myself to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables? How dare he? I get that he’s a chef and meat lover, but does he have to flash it in my face every time he shops here? Honestly, here I am, proving to myself and the world that I have what it takes to run a successful business, based on sustainability and fair trade. I try to be nice to everyone. I’m a vegan after all. We’re nice people… but Christian gets under my skin like a tick. And he brings out the feisty redhead lurking inside me. How can he be the brother of my sweet friend, Violet, when he is easily the most infuriating, selfish, and cruel bastard in the city of Seattle?
Yes, I know that I should just ignore him, but here’s the tricky part; I’m spending good money on a dating agency who’s supposed to find me the right man who matches my criteria for a life partner, and yet, none of the men I meet excite me. It’s not that I’m frigid, it’s just that for some inexplicable reason I'm cursed with a strong physical attraction to the one man who I know is everything I’m NOT looking for.
Green is the third book in Elin Peer’s highly praised Clashing Colors series, where opposites attract and fiery dialogue is masterfully written. If you are into two strong characters butting heads and trying desperately to deny the attraction between them, then the shenanigans Christian and Melody come up with to get back at each other will have you chuckling all night.

Seriously can this series get any more amazing…. Honestly I thought the first two were really good, but this book pretty much topped everything. With each book you can see that Elin Peer’s writing is getting better and better with each book. I honestly have no idea how she is going to top the next one as honestly the level is pretty much set high with this book, if you haven’t read any of Elin’s work then I suggest you give this series a try. Each book can be read in any order, but I honestly think it works better by reading them in order. This story gripped me from moment one until the very end, I hate it when I get to the end of each of these books as they truly are incredible. But that just leaves me anxiously waiting for the next one, I hope that you all feel the same if you have read these books.
Now Green was nothing like Violet or Black, but it had the same effect that both stories gave when reading them. This book was all about Christian (Violet’s brother) and Melody, now they both can’t stand each other due to the fact that Melody owns a Vegan shop and Christian owns a few Steakhouses. They both believe in different things, but little do they realise is that they are both some way have something to do with Violet. You’ve probably guessed that Melody is one of Violet’s friends and of course I’ve just told you how Christian is related to Violet. Anyways this book shows how their love-hate relationship grows, throughout this book you will be rooting for both characters as honestly they are pretty much well suited to one another, but the amount of shock events that happen will most likely surprise you. There is so much more that I could say about this book, but honestly that would ruin it for you, so please do consider picking up this book when you have the chance as it’s a series you don’t want to miss out on.
Melody and Christian had me laughing out loud with their shenanigans through out this book. It was fun and emotional and masterfully played. The Vegans vs Carnivores killed me with these two as they warred constantly. But to trust your heart to someone who has totally different outlooks and views may not be a good thing. But with relatives like they each have will they be able to keep it a secret until they figure it out? A great addition to the Clashing Colors Series, as we see the interact and grow into their own relationships. They are standalone books however the characters cross over.
As with the other books the story is well developed and skillfully weaved. The characters are strong in their own rights even while they might be considered as single minded and somewhat anal they are funny and real.
3.5 Stars. Btw I didn't read any other books in the series and understand this one perfectly.
The beginning has everything I look forward into an enemies to lovers trope. Awesome banter, witty characters, and tension off the rocks. I have a few issues with this story and its probably a personal preference, but the banter started to drag past the 20-something % mark. There was a lot of back and forth about being vegan and non-vegan. It sorta got repetitive for me. Christian was extreme alpha and I loved when I saw that persona, but again there wasn't enough of it. I wanted more, it seemed that was absent 1/2 way in the book. The last 20% I started to skim some scenes bc I just wanted the story to end already and frankly Melody got a bit annoying.
I will say Elin has a knack for writing (although there were less than a handful editing issues which weren't bothersome) and I enjoyed reading this as a first for me author and might be willing to look into her other works like the Men of the North series.
This is another enjoyable opposites attract story in the Clashing Colors series. I occasionally wanted to smack the male lead, while also being amused and charmed by him. He was a handful, but also fun and sweet.
The female lead is feisty and emotional. My only one minor complaint is that they both wasted too much time bouncing around with other partners that weren't that well-developed, so I could have used less of that. Otherwise, it was a good read. I am really enjoying how different this series is from other contemporary romance.
Oh my, I have discovered a new favourite author. The only negative/disappointing thing about this book is that I can only give it 5 stars ..... I would happily give it 500.
This book took me on an emotional roller coaster and had me begging for a HEA for Melody and Christian. The author writes emotions so amazing well, and so accurately, that my heart felt like it was breaking a few times. I loved both the Hero and Heroine, they are real, imperfect and captivating characters.
The book is written 1st person from both POV's, allowing you to understand their decisions, emotions and mistakes. I liked how we learnt about their dysfunctional families, but that this wasn't harped on about as the excuse for everything they did. There were subtle examples of how it affected their behaviour but it wasn't overdone.
The writing is incredible, the plot fairly simple but a perfect complement to the complex emotions and all the characters are interesting and well developed. The book was not only easy to read but kept me gripped from beginning to end. There is no huge mystery, there is no threat or subterfuge, just an amazing and captivating (but never simple) romance.
I'm off now to read the first two books in the series, and any other books by this author as I am feeling withdrawal symptoms already.
This book is epitome of ignorance. I don't know if it's the author or the characters she wrote but honestly if your opinions are such then it's problematic.
1) The h's sister cannot conceive and everyone in her family taunts and insult her but the h and H were ignorant about it and even took that as an opening for announcing that they are expecting a child ( "melody doesn't have that problem" ~ are you kidding me it's not anyone's fault that they cannot get pregnant)
2) the hero is a jerk. No, genuinely he is a piece of shit He cheats on h after telling he loves her ( yaa definitely loves her just not enough to remain faithful). He thinks if any girl is emotional or gives her piece of mind then she is PMSing ( really??!!??) He is just shallow plain shallow with surface values
3) I have never met such a irritating h She hates that her parents forces her but she herself gives her an age limit for marriage and pregnancy otherwise she thinks her reproductive system will not work properly The way she forces the H for commitment is a different level midlife crisis like honey go and cleanse your mind, go on a self-discovering journey ( marriage and children are not everything -- they are not achievements) She really doesn't support her sister, just listens her family taunt her and her sis. She is actually ignorant about it
I just wasted my time reading this book. Never gonna read this author if she makes her characters so irritating and shallow
Lets just start out by saying that the banter between vegan Melody and carnivore Christian is hilarious. I can not count the number of time I woke my husband due to my laughing. This book is the epitome of why this series is called Clashing colors. I found it fascinating how the book starts, and was thrilled to see that it just didn't pick up from where Violet ended but went back to show the time lapse of the events. It great to see the events unfold that either were missed in Violet (because Violet books focused on her story we only got a briefing of what the others were up to) and to see the events take place from another person POV. It helps so much to be able to have double the details and really makes it come alive in you mind. Normally not a fan of when author do this because I feel the story is just being duplicated. But that was not the case here. While a few scenes came from Violet's story hearing it from Melody & Christian view was anything but duplicated. Following this cast is a bit of roller coaster ride, but I love roller coaster. This book has it all, you'll laugh ( I promise you'll laugh), you'll cheer and you may even shed a tear if you read the Epilogue ( Whatever you don't skip it)
I received this book from Bookfunnel for my honest opinion. Two strong personalities, both with loving, giving hearts, bring out the best and worst in each other. Melody is a vegan who owns Green, a vegan market who wants eventually be married with a family. She's not getting any younger and has a check list of requirements any potential man would need. Christian is a highly prized chef turned steak house entrepreneur with 3 restaurants who is the ultimate confident, sexy alpha who is happy with his playboy ways. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum. The sexual tension is off the charts between these two but the continual bickering and heated arguments only feed their silent doubts and insecurities. Even though each book can be read on it's own, it's wonderful how the characters from the previous books in the series tie into the current one. You won't go wrong with this or any book written by Elin Peer.
A well written and an engaging story. It has a different tone than thhe previous books in this series, Black and Violet; but it links well with these two books.
In my opinion it is particularly closely aligned to Violet; and was fascinating to read parts of the book, similar to parts in Violet but from a different perspective.
If I could only use one word to describe this book it would be "Electric" which is down to the Authors portrayal of the conflicts in the relationship between Christian and Melody.
I don't want to say anything to ruin your reading of the book, I think it would be suitable for most people who like romance books, there is some intimacy within the story, but it's not a central feature. So far, I have liked every book I have read from this Author to date; and can't wait to read her next book.
We have already been introduced to Melody, Violet's friend and Christian, Violet's brother. There is also a carry over of characters from Book 1 and 2. Ms. Peers does an outstanding job of making you feel as if you know these characters. I laughed with them, cried with them and referred to Christian as a jerk, more than once. I felt that this story was about overcoming personal issues and trying to work them out. It also shows how convoluted things can become with a lack of understanding and communication. I took a peak to see who was in the next book and she is such a likeable character that I got Book 4 immediately. Not to mention, that Violet made another prediction about her future. This book is definitely for adults only, as there is steamy sex.
This is the third book in the Clashing Colors series. It is a stand alone book, but reading the first two prior to reading this one is recommended. That being said...this is my favorite so far. I seem to think that after reading each one, but I just love the back and forth between these two characters. I found myself laughing out loud and even stopping to read some exchanges to my sister who would also laugh out loud. I always enjoy a strong female character and this book has that, but she is vulnerable at the same time. It helps to make the character believable. Elin Peer is a great writer and I highly recommend reading all of her books. She does not disappoint.
I was excited for this book after seeing how Violet ended. You start to get a feel for Melody from the last book. I was also very interested to learn more about Christian as well. I enjoyed the playful banter that this couple had and the difference they need to work through. This author just keeps getting better and better.
This book was narrated by Noelle Bridges and John Masterson, they did a great job.
Melody and Christian are as different as night and day. When these two meet sparks fly, first due to their different eating lifestyles then the attraction. They verbally fence thru emails, and are thrown together in different circumstances. I love the interaction and the side characters too. Looking forward to the next one.
Loved this latest book in the clashing colours series. I really liked the sparring between Melody and Christian but also enjoyed the way the characters from the previous books were included so that you got an update to their stories. I genuinely laughed out loud at some parts! Would recommend this series.
I really enjoyed this. The emails, the witty banter, and the whole carnivore vs. vegan thing was hilarious. I laughed out loud several times with this one. Christian was a bit of a jerk and a man-whore at times but he does redeem himself eventually. Melody was great, I really liked her flawed character and the depth to her. Overall lots of fun, I highly recommend it.
I love the way this author writes. There is depth and a good dose of reality in each book. The books merge and the friendships all follow through. You need to read them in order or you won’t understand the connection. I don’t give spoilers but the books.
Really engaging story. Christian was sexy. Melody was beautiful and smart. Lots of angst, great Jennifer got her just desserts. Still love Darren he is hilarious. Refreshing story line. LOVED the emails!!!

Great characters and storyline. A lot of back and forth between the main characters but very entertaining. Loved how there were more than one story going on without taking anything away from the stars of the show, Christian and Melody. Great read.
Really like the clashing colors series. I like how every book in the series intercepts with each other. Liked all the characters old and new. Mmc was a dimwit, like the previous two in the other books.
This is a true laugh out loud book! The shenanigans that Melody and Christian pull on each other are great. They definitely don't make it easy for one another. Elin Peer just can't go wrong. I love her characters and the stuff they get into, it is so realistic. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
