What if you suddenly find out that vampires are for real? I am not talking about those with large canines, which drink blood and are afraid of crucifix, but about the ones that really live among us. Let me introduce them to you: they are the “psychic vampires”, also called as “psyvamps”.
The Devil has several ways of spreading his evilness so he has created psyvamps which type of attack could range from just letting people down by drawing their energy, to those capable of dominating souls and controlling people's life. Have you ever known someone that, out of the blue, had become a crazy drug addict, a killer or got a severe disease? Maybe a psyvamp has paid a visit to such subject…
So imagine how surprised does a typical aussie teenager becomes, after playing a sort of spiritual game which led her into an unknown and mysterious parallel dimension of regular spirits, suicidal spirits and psyvamps? Above all, Laura Zanini is her name, has the chance to meet Noah, a psyvamp which claims that ought to protect her from being attacked by Hugo, a very powerful psyvamp which lives inside a human body. An intriguing point is that Noah doesn’t know Laura just from this life, but from his former one too. What’s the connection between Laura and Noah, and them both with Hugo? Why Hugo wants so badly to get near Laura?
There is another problem: as much as Noah really needs to stay as closer as possible to Laura, in order to keep Hugo’s presence away, he involuntary sucks Laura's energy in this process, making her feel physically and emotionally weak. So Noah has to discover a method which allows him to proceed further with the execution of his alleged task, without affecting Laura with his psyvamp effect. Is Noah really capable of saving Laura from her awful fate?
Furthermore, Laura, which is this pretty girl of the next door punk-rock-grunge sort of type, falls in love with Noah, at the same time that she has very strong feelings for a friend of hers, Max. Anyway, both are very sexy and handsome, and could make any girl lose her heart to them: Noah is a very athletic and lusty brunet, which use to keep a low profile as farmer in the past, while Max is this cool, tanned and blond Australian surfer. Laura had the opportunity of seeing how Noah looks like, through disturbing nightmares that started to hunt her sleep since she met him. Mentally, Laura is always over this imaginary borderline struggling between what is considered socially acceptable in terms of feelings, versus what is seen as an absolutely insane behavior by all. But in her case it's worst: she has a very powerful bad energy influence over her shoulders. Laura feels that her soul is fading away... And who would know, until then, that psyvamps are everywhere: inside that depressing friend of yours, behind the scenes of a huge catastrophe or even under the skin of a cruel dictator?
Together with all this pressure, Laura still has to move forward with her international modeling career, facing the person that she hates the most: Nicole, a stunning-good-looking girl which use to be popular at school and mean to people. To makes things worse, besides being Airini’s cousin (Laura’s best friend) Nicole has a huge crush on Max.
Beautiful beaches, seductive people, mixed with all sort of exotic venues. Could you picture other place better than Sydney to be a story's setting? This, combined with all types of mysteries and intriguing twists and turns regarding the journey of a teenager that suddenly has to deal with unkown creatures of the dark, as obscure as the psyvamps and as close to us as humans in general, while managing to protect herself against an dark imminent attack, allows the Psyvamp book to be considered the next generation of paranormal fiction novel involving vampires - the real ones.
