by Agata Kristi

THE MYSTERIOUS AFFAIR AT STYLES: Someone has poisoned wealthy Emily Inglethorp. But who? And how? Everyone suspects Emily's young husband, Alfred ... and Alfred seems to be actually trying to get arrested and charged. But why? And why did Emily draw up a new will on the day of her death, only to burn it in the fireplace a few hours later? The murderer has been clever ... but not clever enough to deceive Hercule Poirot!

THE MURDER ON THE LINKS: Poirot comes to France in response to a desperate plea for help to find his client already murdered — stabbed in the back and lying in an open grave. Brusque, arrogant Inspector Giraud thinks he knows who did it. But is the killer really the dead man's own son? And what does the victim's enigmatic, blackmailing neighbor, the mysterious Madame Daubreuil, have to do with it? Captain Hastings is baffled ... but Poirot is on the case.

4/5 estrellas.
Tampoco me agrado mary C, era sumamente desagradable.
Me gusto.

I love good Poirot books,never disappoints !

[Evonne · Rating 4 out of 5]

Very enjoyable. Murder on the Links beats The Mysterious Affair at Styles due either to its more straight-forward (but not predictable!) telling, or due to my having read it secondly and so was readjusted to Christie's convoluted narration. Either way it was far easier to follow: fewer characters, less hopping around, better explanations by Poirot to fill in the reader with necessary information.

Recommended.

Review thoughts

The story was too complicated and didn’t feature Hercules Poirot as much as I would have liked. Still, I love Christie’s stories.

Great read. Another Agatha Christie book I didn’t even come close to figuring out who the murderer was!

[Fernanda · Rating 3 out of 5]

Libro entretenido, aunque predecible.
