Rate this book
Andrew is eager to destroy his second demon, a lawyer in New York City. With Emily's help he searches for a way to complete his task. After stalking the lawyer for a week, Emily and Andrew realize killing him will be difficult since he's a public figure. They visit a nightclub he frequents and Emily befriends one of his clients. Under her alias, Emily portrays a prostitute in an effort to get close to the lawyer. Her role playing efforts pay off until they land her in jail.

Andrew fears he will lose Emily forever if the police discover her true identity. He contacts her best friend, Troy, for help. In a matter of hours, Andrew has to find a way to destroy the demon so Troy's lawyer can step in and clear the charges against Emily. While she waits in prison she realizes the men in her life are the source of her problems. She considers her future. If she is set free, she wonders if she would be better off on her own.

ok, so fear from the end of last book - this one is most definetly not like the first book!!

Still chasing a demon, this one puts Emily in a more difficult and personally life threatening position. Andrew blames himself - and so does Troy. It's clear to say the initial bromance is over there and he has to tread carefully if they cross paths in the future.....

This one deals a lot with the growing relationship of Andrew and Emily. We see both sides together and seperately.

Due to circumstances they are forced to be apart for a few days. This gives both of them time to think. One thinks positively....while the other not so much.

Troy shows his concern and also his possessiveness over Emily by basically giving her an ultimatum......

Him or Andrew......

Gah!!!! How could he put her in that position!!! I understand his worry for her and yes it's caused her some biiiiiiig issues but surely compared to what he's done...? Shouldn't he be supporting her? Even if he doesn't agree? Yes say his opinion but still.....
Could she leave Andrew? I mean I know this is a series but she could leave and come back.....but then would she resent Troy for stopping her from doing something truly good - and for also probably her best shot at getting her way into heaven.....AND if she went with Troy- the things he'll be having her doing won't be legal so her aura will get worse and her chances dropping.....

I literally flew thru this in one sitting- I couldn't put it down. I loved it!

The chemistry between Emily and Andrew is building up really nicely - from a slow simmering raging lust to something with a bit more substance- I'm not sure how long they'll last!! And what will happen after the 6 demons collected? Hmmmm!!!!!!

As usual I love reading Mary Abshire's books! This one follows Emily and Andrew on the hunt for his second demon. And unfortunately it becomes a lot bigger task to manage than the first, because he is a public figure. There is so many twists and turns that happen and a lot of obstacles that they face, in order to nab the demon. I still love the chemistry between Andrew and Emily! Though Andrew makes a huge mistake and makes an enemy of Emily's friend troy. So now he has to work to earn both their trust and respect back. Can he do it? I believe he can! I mean come on he's an angel after all, right?

I voluntarily agreed to read is book and this was my honest review! I can't wait to read the next one!

I can always count on this author to draw me in and keep me turning pages. Andrew and Emily are on the hunt for Andrew's second demon, and of course, they get into a mess and need Troy's help. Andrew has an innocence about him that is so endearing, and he doesn't always understand how to deal with a headstrong Emily, who has a decision to make after landing in jail. The story moves along quickly with some twists, some chuckles, and a mission to kill a demon. The writing style is descriptive without being bogged down and the pace keeps a reader turning pages. Without a doubt, Mary Abshire knows how to tell a story!

Book 2 is an interesting continuation - this time job won't be that easy, the demon is a public figure.
The operation needs to be carefully taken. It makes reader feel even more on the edge.
The action is not that fast like in book 1, here more it's about talking and planning which is understandable.
I will grab book 3 for sure.

The Heaven Sent series by Ms. Abshire is interesting, but I would suggest starting with book one. It would appear each book is the quest for the next demon of which Andrew must rid the earth of six demons. The end of the story leads into the beginning of the next book so some issues will be cleared up while others will be left open-ended. The reader will need to follow along to find out what happens at the end. The writing engages the reader and despite the left behind feeling which often occurs with ongoing stories through multiple books the leader is left feeling the need to know how it all ends. Second Demon is an entertaining read but I warn anyone who takes a peek into the story will be hooked with the need to know what happens next.

Second Demon by Mary Abshire continues to follow Emily and Andrew as they try to make a plan to kill the next demon on Andrew's list. They are in New York City, and the demon is a businessman and lawyer who takes care of legal issues for the "working girls" in a nightclub he owns part of. However, their plan backfires when Emily is arrested for solicitation. Andrew calls on Troy for help, but Troy blames Andrew for Emily's arrest, and tries to convince her that she would be better off by leaving Andrew and moving on with her own life.

This second book in the Heaven Sent series is full of action, and has some suspenseful scenes as well. There are a few twists to the story than I didn't see coming. The three main characters, Andrew, Emily and Troy, continue to develop in this installment of the series. As Andrew's feelings for Emily continue to evolve, he begins to take Troy's place in her life, which causes Troy to become angry with him. The scenes are well thought out, and I enjoyed reading the book.

I did have an issue with this book, which was the proofreading and editing. It had many errors in it, so much so that I had to ask the author if I had accidentally received an early draft of the book. However, I made notes of the problems I found and sent them to the author, so I have no doubt that they will be corrected. Other than that, I found the story and characters well developed and entertaining. I will definitely read further books in the series.

I requested a review copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Second Demon is the second book in Mary Abshire's Heaven Sent series. I didn't think it was possible but I loved the characters even more in this second book. The chemistry between Andrew and Emily is amazing. They made me feel all kinds of emotions. Second Demon is well written, fast past, and keeps you engrossed in the story from start to finish. I can't wait for the third book in this series to come out.
