Outrageous Proposal

Rate this book
Old British money buys you a lot of perks… I just never thought I’d be one of them. The idea of a week-long getaway to Bali with a bunch of my girlfriends sounded like just the thing I needed to forget about my recent breakup, so I probably ignored some of the signs that they were up to something. I just never expected that they’d book us into a sex club! (I didn’t care if that isn’t what they called it, that’s what it was!) Still, I thought I could just keep to myself and have a nice, quiet holiday while they did their thing. But that was before I met the absolutely gorgeous British sex-god that owned the place. As soon as I met him, I knew he was trouble, and that was before he even approached me with his absolutely outrageous proposal. I should have boarded the first flight back home. I should have at least run back to my hotel room and hid under my blankets. Alone. The absolute last thing in the world I should have done was actually agree to his terms... Outrageous Proposal is a full-length, stand-alone romance novel with an HEA, and includes special bonuses for my loyal fans!

2.5... Maybe ... I don't feel like being generous and rounding up.

I borrowed this book for free from the Kindle lending library.... Thank goodness it was free!

The book is short and more of a novella. It follows Clarice and her three friends, who under false pretenses brought her on a vacation to a hedonistic resort in Bali. Not DTF every male she meets, Clarice instead agrees to play the fake fiancé to the resort manager/owner.

In typical fashion, the two fall in love, the guy messes up and they fight ending with her kicking him out, only to spend a day apart realizing how much they are really in love and they reunite and express their mutual love.

Other quirks... Two characters are Clarice and Trudy. Made me think/ picture Steel Magnolia characters the whole time. Also, there were a few grammatical or story errors in the book that irked me. Which now I find amusing due to the acknowledgment at the ending thanking the Editor for not allowing the book to appear as if written by a 3rd grader.

Overall, a quick read with a sweet ending. Just don't expect more than it really is.

I received this book for free to give my True and Honest Review

Now this is such a sweet kinda love story for a great holiday romance out of this world I think could be a lovely sweetheart movie, where 4 bestmates go on an exclusive trip to Bali where 3 of them practically kidnap Clarice to go to a sex resort as she hasn't been herself since her last break up 18 mths-2 yrs before, where Sex love god I'll call him, British Harrison who runs the resort and is the son and heir of the owner George Moores write an email whilst drunk saying he's gotten engaged and this is where the story entwines as his parents say they're coming over to meet their future daughter which is quite comical especially in the way he asks the favour to be his pretend fiancee Lmao

3 Stars:
It has many redeeming qualities. The characters were likable at best neutral at worst. The writing was much better than expected. I developed an interest that withstood to the end. The plot was nice, somewhat original or had its own unique flair. The writing was good, and the pretense wasn’t half bad, the romance was simmering with few exceptions. The male/female lead showed hints of abuse both verbal and/or physical or signs of spot-on or forced chemistry. It was a tiny bit predictable. Overall, liked it enough, entertaining.

The title is misleading. The book could of had the leading man from anywhere. British really didn't play into it nor arrogant bastard. Harrison was typical young stud who managed a sex resort. I actually excepted him to be skeezier. So this book was insta love with both parties madly in LOVE by week's end. If you like that than this is your book. yum.

Very sweet

It is a sweet kind of fairy tale story, which I enjoyed a lot. For a change things are simple and uncomplicated between Clarice and Harrison. However, I think the author should have worked a little harder on the story details. It is annoying for the reader to see so many inconsistencies regarding times of the event, although the story evolves within a week time it is never clear in the story what is the time of the day or which day of the week, or night, evening, daytime for that matter. Good storyline has meticulous attention to details to make the story believable and likeable. The story idea is great but for the reasons I mentioned above it gets only four stars.

I just finished reading my 3rd story by Sienna Valentine, all three have been quite different and with each from the first page I couldn't not only put it down, but wait to turn the page! I enjoy how seamlessly the stories flow together. The only similarities between them are having both characters points of view and being an HEB. This is the first that is a standalone without another standalone story to go along with it, but how could you go wrong writing about life in paradise!
Harrison lives and runs one of his father's resorts in Bali. This one in particular the guest are ready and willing for uninhibited and unattached hedonism. Harrison has taken many liberties in this himself, and allows his employees to as well, as long as they're not on duty. Harrison's father wants him to settle down, get married and start a family before he'll pass on the reigns of his empire to his only child, Harrison completely not only despises but rebels against his father's demands. Unfortunately one night while enjoying yet another guest and drinking Sambuca, which always made him do stupid things! Including drunkedly emailing his father that'd he'd found his future wife, and she has shown him the kind of future he wants. But Harrison doesn't remember sending it and now his father and mother are coming to meet his fiancé, that he doesn't have. Now he has to figure out a plan of action! And fast!
Clarice is on vacation from New York to Bali with her three best friends, only they've kept her out of the entire planning process of the trip. She has no idea what the extra private resort is about, they're trying to get their friend back and out of the funk she's been in following a break-up with her ex. They all needed to recharge their batteries, only Clarice doesn't know the full extent of the girls' plans to get her to release some of her tension she's bottled up. But it was too much for Clarice when she found out what the resort is about, she didn't know if she could b as free as the other three. However she promised she'd do her best to relax and have a good time, even though she feared she'd disappoint them.
Harrison and his best friend Bruce tried to come up with a plan to help him out of the mess he'd made with his father. They made a list of qualities this woman would have to have to impress his father. After being shut down by every female on the island, Harrison knew he'd met the perfect woman lost in the halls today. Clarice, now he just had to convince her. While she was having dinner with her friends, he sauntered to the table and asked if he could speak to her alone. They walked out onto the beach where he laid it all out on the line for her. He gave her a beautiful engagement ring as down payment no matter what she decided. He promised he could show her a different experience since she wasn't really interested in what the resort had to offer, she told him she had to think about it. Harrison's parents were due in the next day, which meant he didn't sleep well that night. He was on his way to find her when she came to find him. She decided to take him up on his offer of an adventure. How does it turn out? Are they able to pull off the ruse for his parents, or does it backfire on Harrison, or even both of them? You'll have to read Outrageous Proposal to find out, but I'm glad I did. It was an intense but fun story to read. I smiled, laughed, and even shed some tears- sad or happy you'll have to find out on your own! I give Sienna 5 stars

This story is a hoot! As one reviewer commented, this story would make an entertaining holiday-type movie: exotic setting in Bali at a sex resort, four young professional women – one of whom they are trying to dislodge from a two-year funk after breaking up with a boyfriend, a hot bachelor who is managing the resort for his dad and taking advantage of all the perks the job has to offer, and an unexpected romance resulting from an unfortunate e-mail mistake.

As the story begins, I wasn’t too sure there was a redeeming bone in Harrison’s body, but I quickly forgave him once the banter started percolating between him and his buddy Bruce about how he (Harrison) was going to finagle his way out of an email he sent during a Sambuca-derived drunk the night before to his dad announcing that he was engaged. Then, there are the three young professional women who have dragged one of their best friends along with them on a trip to a hedonistic resort in Bali – that just happens to be managed by Harrison – to help her get over a breakup with her boyfriend two years ago. Of course, this friend is mortified to discover once she gets there exactly what her friends have in mind as the quick-fix remedy to help her get out of her dry spell, but lo and behold, it just turns out that she’s just what Harrison needs to pull off his fake engagement to his parents.

Harrison and Clarice clicked from the start and their rapport developed sweetly and romantically. They truly enjoyed one another’s company and, underneath it all, were actually just lonely souls seeking true love and acceptance from someone without judgement or unrealistic expectations – they simply played off one another and it was fun to experience their back-and-forth banter and natural, free-flowing camaraderie. These two simply fit together. The emotions they expressed to one another during the scene on the beach seemed almost palpable, as did their attraction to and passion for one another both in and out of bed. Their HEA was swoon-worthy!

Once again, Valentine delivers a fast-paced and solid story filled with delicious description, tantalizing simmer and steam, and characters you can almost believe are real. This story was so fun to read, and any reader should find herself finishing the book with a smile and a dancing heart.

This latest release by Sienna Valentine is certainly a must for current fans of the author or even those new to her books. Its a stand alone book with a sort of HEA in that as I got into the book all I wanted in the end was more! This story is of Harrison, a British heir to a small fortune described as a 'cad' and Clarice an American woman suffering from 'years of dude-drought'. This story takes place at a hedonistic resort in Bali but don't let this put you off.....the story is a very sweet love story about two people who share a special 'trip of a lifetime' and fall in love and has nothing to do with a 'sex resort' as Clarice describes it!

I don't know whether because I am British myself an often read of the stereotypical pretentious and snobby well off British male American authors like to write about, it took sometime for me to fall in love with Harrison as a character but when I did....boy did I. With lines like; 'You are simply the most stunning woman I've ever met, Clarice, and it's not because of this dress', Harrison soon became relate-able and lovable as we began to understand him more with his interactions with Clarice, her girlfriends (who had me laughing out loud at points, especially Trudy) and his family.

I won't spoil the story but it's certainly not one to miss.....my only disappointment is that it finished where it did. Certainly a happy ending but as always when reading many of Sienna's books I want more and I certainly wanted more of Harrison and Clarice and how their HEA ended!

A must read!

Outrageous Proposal by Sienna Valentine

Designation: Standalone with a HEA

I really enjoyed Sienna’s Black Dog MC books and couldn’t wait to see what she would do with a beach romance.

Clarice is on a vacation with her girlfriends, but she really didn’t know what kind of resort they had booked into until it was too late. She just can’t get into the carefree hookup mode of needed to enjoy the resort.

Harrison is trying to fix the mess he created with his drunk text to his father saying that he is engaged. He is really not ready to settle down, but when his dad plans to fly out to meet his future bride, he needs to find a woman to pretend for a week to be his fiancé.

To Harrison, Clarice seems like the perfect person to help him fool his parents, but will she be willing to play along? Will his parents be fooled? Will they survive the weeklong charade?

To get those answers, you have to read this book!

I really liked the way the characters met and how they fit together. They were completely believable and likeable. I couldn’t understand why Harrison put his foot in his mouth during dinner, and in fact I think there was a bit of a hole in the plot flow regarding their conversation on the dancefloor, but overall it didn’t really change the outcome of the story.

Hero: Harrison 5 stars
Heroine: Clarice 5 stars
Steam Level: 5 stars
Plot: 5 stars
Cliffhanger: no

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review (Thank you!).

Harrison had sent his father a drunken email advising him he was engaged and ready to settle down and live the life his father wanted him to. When he sobered up, he couldn’t seem to wrap his head around the fact that he’d actually sent it. Now what was he going to do? He didn’t have a woman he wanted to date long term, let alone marry! He’d have to find a pretend fiance to get him off the hook with his father. He should be able to find someone considering he ran a sex resort, right?! Clarice’s friends surprised her with this vacation. What they didn’t tell her until it was too late was it was a sex resort. What did she have to lose when the owner offered her such an Outrageous Proposal?

Outrageous Proposal has a super sexy plot, great hero and heroine, and involved, fun loving, supporting characters. It was fun and set in a romantic island paradise anyone would adore going to. The detail was woven in without the reader even realizing it. The hero was fun, but a little on the irresponsible side which he totally made up for with his flirtatious actions. He always seemed to get himself in trouble, but the heroine was there to rescue him on every occasion. That only made the hero more lovable and ramped the story up to an unforgettable level. I’m impressed with Ms. Valentine’s writing talent and I’ll always be back for more! Outrageous Proposal is a Must Read and a Keeper too! 5 Stars!

This one made me laugh and get all hot and bothered and well...where can I find a resort like this and meet sooo many willing partners?? When Clarice is kind of "dragged" on vacation with her girlfriends, she had no idea she was going to such a beautiful and hedonistic place...until she gets a glimpse of some scandalous public displays and the fact that everyone is very scantily attired. Meeting the manager of the resort, a very handsome British hottie, makes her re-think her desire to get out of there as fast as she can...maybe this week-long getaway won't be so bad after all!
A drunken text, a perfect (so he thinks) solution to a big problem, has playboy Harrison approaching Clarice with a very intriguing proposition...and the rest is history.
Although the idea has been done before and this is not the first "sex resort" type book that I have read, I found Outrageous Proposal to be a very engaging, funny and steamy novel and literally read it straight through in a couple of hours. It's the perfect beach book or vacation read and definitely one for a lonely weekend at home alone with a nice glass of something bubbly.

OMG this book made me laugh! I had to go back and make sure I was reading Sienna's work! This book was a nice departure from the dark and brooding alphas.

In it we meet Harrison...British playboy running one of his father's hotels in Bali. He wakes up one morning after another night of drunken sex to find he sent an email to his father. This email is now going to upend his whole life unless he figures out a way to solve this mess he's gotten himself into.

Then there is Clarice. After being broken hearted and in a funk for two years, her friends can't take it anymore and bring her to Bali. Only they don't tell her what the resort is known for! Her chance meeting with Harrison has the possibility to seriously impact her life....she's just not sure if that is good or bad.

You will fall in love with Clarice's circle of friends--they will have you laughing like no tomorrow! The chemistry and interactions between Clarice and Harrison are very believable and just as funny, but definitely hot! Great read from Sienna!

Wow what a great read with HE A ending

I don't know about you but sign me up for more reads from this author. This was a great story (bonus stories too). I could read this story over and over. Great HE A ending too.
Overview. Clarice has been in a 2 year funk. Since she hasn't been herself since her breakup 2 years ago, her 3 best friends decide to take her to a resort in Bali. A place that is open to "pleasuring" adventures. She doesn't know this until after they get there. Harrison was living the perfect life. All he needed was surfing, alcohol and sex. And since her owns this sexy island, he had nothing to worry about. That is until he drunk emails his dad that he is getting married and wants to follow his steps. Now her needs to find a fake bride and fast, but who. When Harrison goes to tell his friend Bruce, he meets Clarice checking in. He notices she is not happy to be here, but why? He offers her a chance to be his fake bride while his parents visit. Will Clarice accept his offer? Will Harrison be able to keep his heart safe and his parents happy?

Harrison is the rich guy in charge of the resort always with a different girl as not a relationship type of guy. Which is kind of what the resort is about really hook ups. Well until Clarice came along, something changed when he saw her for the first time. Clarice is still getting over a heartbreak and has become a bit of a hermit. So her friends whisk her away on a holiday hoping to bring back the old Clarice.
I loved the chemistry and the jokes between these two, it's like they were meant to be or something. Her friends are the best, supporting her and standing by her side no matter what. The same with his mate Bruce he helped plan what to do when his parents were coming. I just loved reading Clarice's and Harrison's story. The sex scenes where hot too when they finally got down to it. The sexual tension finally got to them haha.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions in this review are my own. I loved the luxuriously depicted and described exotic resort scenery the way Valentine described it. I could feel myself relaxing and taking everything in as if I were right there with the characters. I enjoyed the way the friendship between Clarice and her friends shone from the pages of this tale. The storyline between Clarice and Harrison is intriguing, mysterious and almost sinfully decadent. I was imagining how I might feel if I were in Clarice's situation. Others will want to read this if they are curious enough about what might be happening in Clarice's life throughout this story. I encourage other readers to pick this up and find out for themselves what the Outrageous Proposal is in this book.

So this was my face while reading this cheese-fest of a book:

The writing was...really not good. Besides being riddled with mistakes, the characters were cliche and the whole premise was just not believable. A sex hotel? Really? Needless to say, I skipped quite a bit. The insta-lust turned into insta-love because they knew each other for a total of what, 5 days? Oy. Literally no character development. The 30 year-something British Billionaire lied (while drunk) to his parents about having a fiance. And then found an idiot girl to go along with his idiotic plan of fake proposing. These characters are so childish. I cannot.

Luckily this was a short read.

It's an interesting concept for a romantic story, quick moving, a decent pace. The ending happens a little smoother than I'm used to, but it was good. The characters are sweet and likable from the very first. Harrison is kind of a man-tramp to start with, and he doesn't feel ashamed by this, but he certainly doesn't have a hateful personality that quite a few of the billionaire heroes seem to have. Clarice is a bit down on herself after a bad breakup, but she sees the need for self-improvement, not necessarily the need for a new man to complete her. These two do find each other in an odd and amusing way and they become good parts of each others' lives. Stand alone story with a HEA.

I felt like it lacked something else the way Clarice first stated she wasn't into the whole sex resort and then ended up kissing some random stranger right away threw me off, but I continued to read it and see where the story would take me. More and more little things began to not add up I couldn't feel the connection between the Clarice and ? the chemistry wasn't what I expected and the way the relationship commenced wasn't believable it went from 1 to 10 in a matter of hours. I'm a sucker for happy endings but this ending lacked so much I was left thinking "that's it that's the ending" it wasn't a definite conclusion for me. Good story line but I wished it would have had more depth.

I absolutely love Harrison and Clarice. She is one feisty heroine that is taken on a vacation by the best friends ever! While at the Hedonistic sex club in Bali, she meets Harrison. Harrison is a hot, alpha male that doesn't lack for female attention or companionship. Their attraction is instant and when Harrison finds himself in a pickle of his own making due to drinking too much Sambuca, he turns to Clarice for help. I recommend this book to everyone who needs a little vacation in their life. This fast, sexy read will not disappoint! One-click today and find out what happens. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this author.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

This is the first book I have read from this author.

While I found this a quick, quirky, easy read, I had a hard time getting into it. The repeated references to Clarice's previous relationship grated after the first couple of times. The time line is unbelievably short, one week.

I liked the secondary characters. Especially Bruce and Trudy. I’d like to see Bruce find his significant other.

Some laughs and steamy scenes. I think this book would have benefited from an epilogue or a segue of some kind into the next book if this is to be a series.

I liked her writing style. I will probably try one of her MC books.

So, this was a bonus read in a book I had just read. Normally, if I don't like the premise I don't bother but I've always had a thing for pretending. Valentine did a wonderful job of portraying Harrison as a Dbag in the beginning but what a completely different man he was when Clarice was around. I think we all figured out before the lovely couple that pretending went out the door after what? The first dinner? Nothing ever good comes from lying.

I enjoyed this. It was good and I even almost got a little tiny bit emotional when he was talking to his father. Oh and yes, we American women do have a thing for English accents. At least, I know I do.

Clarice and Harrison are a match made in paradise in this cute and sexy romance. Clarice, on vacation at a hedonistic resort, still isn't over the hurt from a failed relationship even though it's been a while, and neither is Harrison, the manager and future owner of the resort. A drunken text to his father requires he either admit it was a lie or produce a fiance. Taken by his first sight of Clarice, he convinces her to agree to a fake engagement. Falling in love wasn't part of the plan. I enjoyed this amusing and sweet romance.

Another 5 star read from Sienna! Such a fun, steamy love story that will leave you all flustered! The recipe one smoking hot, British play boy who owns/runs a Hedonistic Resort named Harrison and a raven haired beauty by the name of Clarice.
An unlikely coupling at first until they start spending time together through an outrageous proposal and the rest is a fun, bumpy, hot ride of passion and eventually love! I loved this book!

Sexy, pull on your heart strings, great read! The characters are wonderful! Harrison is the ultimate bad boy! He is fun and when he starts tapping into his feelings you can't help but fall for him. I love Clarice and her wit. She's been hiding from herself for too long. This is an absolute on your to be read list! I would love to see stories on Bruce and the girls!

Outrageous Proposal was funny, sexy, and I love the playful banter between Harrison and Clarice! These two get together to fool his parents but they become the fools when love plays them both. Fun read

This is a lighthearted romantic erotic read. It's short and sweet. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review and then downloaded the UK to read it again in a book format instead of PDFs. It's really an easy fun read with an HEA. The U.K. Version has some addition bonus books I am looking forward to reading.
