The hero of the story had sex with the heroine's sister, in the past, and the heroine's sister then gave birth to the hero's son without him knowing. The h was able to get over that fact pretty damn quickly, but I was not. One mc having a sexual relationship with the other mc's family member is a giant deal breaker for me. Then to top it all off, the author makes the heroine's sister the mother of the hero's child? So basically, the heroine is also going to be her own nephew's stepmother. Nope.

Spoilers ahead

Note to self
The H slept with the h's sister who had his secret baby. The h now becomes step mom to her nephew, with her sis who's slept with her man always around for the holidays. That's just a bit too much for me
**side note- imagine the kid having his buds over, it'll be like "yeah that's my dad, my aunt/stepmom and my mom" y'all need to meet new people that's just gross
**side note 2- the sister ends up with this guy's cousin so now everybody can compare notes 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I like this author's writing style but I think I'll skip the Jerry Springer episodes that are book 1 and 2

After finishing my mind was a mess, my initial thoughts were huh...what are the odds of that happening?

After it marinating and being up since four in the morning I realized it's not actually that farfetched. Although I still have an inner struggle going on with what was one of my other reactions which was come on, really?

Getting back to it not being that farfetched after all.

Spoiler-ish free review.

Gabe Lewis NFL all round good guy runs a camp for kids. He wants to settle down and have a family. Family is very important to him and each year before camp starts he has a family get together with his cousins. To relax and reconnect. This year is going to be slightly different….

Zoey Zahn famous author and proud geek has agreed to go to camp to look after her nephew as a favor to her sister. She unfortunately gets her dates mixed up and arrives a week earlier. She has always been there for her sister and this time it is no different.

Gabe and Zoey automatically hit it off. She’s invited to stay although the camp is closed and gets to know all of Gabe’s cousins and Gabe himself.

Gabe and Zoey have an instant attraction as I mentioned but me believing in that instant attraction was difficult because it all happens so quickly between them. It goes from attraction, to lust and then to love.

I guess this is meant to happen for the story otherwise it won’t pan out so I guess it does make sense. Somewhat unclear right? Oh well.

But I guess it does make sense as to what is to come. When the cat has been let out of the bag. It's a sticky situation for all parties involved.  Gabe and Zoey aren't to blame but Chloe is. I felt for Zoey and if I was in the same position I wouldn't know how to react or the choices that I would make. Dick move Gabe with the ultimatum. Luckily enough it didn't back fire at you.

You can tell that Ms. Lopez writes about up close and personal things with very real and everyday life and love. With real ups and downs don’t get me wrong I love it when a good book as ups and downs but throughout most of the book all was hunky dory and then suddenly and 18 wheeler comes out of nowhere. But I’m just not sure about this type of style and if I like it and if it worked for me.

More than anything else I'm very ambivalent about the book so I've decided to go with the standard 3 stars. I didn’t love it or hate it and I felt the same about the characters as well. I love the fact that this is a series about cousins and not siblings. Although they are just as close. But it is new and different well for me anyway.

In a way the story is very refreshing although I like to avoid that kind of drama.

On a side note what kind of name is Reardon, I mean it can be shortened to Rear and then to got shortened to ass. What were the parents thinking?

The next book in the series is Reardon & Chloe. Chloe is my main issue. Not too sure about that one to be honest but the idiot that I am I will probably request it.

Huh? What are the odds of that happening?

1 NOT FOR ME STAR

This is just my opinion so please be aware this is a purely personal review. This was not my kind of book. SPOILER AHEAD The 'hero' , Gabe, came across as egotistical and I thought the way he acted toward Zoey when he visited her after their time apart was awful. They had sex and he thought all was forgiven but when he realized she wasn't sure he acted as if she should be jumping at the chance to be with him and made it seem like she was in the wrong. He had had sex with the heroines sister years ago and she got pregnant. He never knew he had a son. Zoey' s sister Chloe , lied to everyone.

He just didn't get how Zoey could have still been upset seven weeks after learning all this. I got that all this happened years before Zoey and Gabe met and he never had feelings for Chloe but he clearly must have been attracted to her to have sex with her.
Then suddenly Zoey decides she loves him , goes to visit with his family with her sister.....He goes on about how Chloe will always be invited to all holidays and family events and Zoey is all smiles and agreements. Ugh. No. I hate when the Hero has been with the heroine' s sister.
Not For Me this one.

Too Tempting is the first book in the new adult contemporary romance series, called the Lewis Cousin's series, by Bethany Lopez. I liked this book, but it didn't rock my world or anything crazy like that. It was a quick contemporary romance read. To be honest the plot of this one just didn't click for me, and ultimately that was why I couldn't enjoy this story more. I would be interested to see Gabe's cousin's story, but the premise of Gabe's story didn't really grab me. Overall, it was a decent read, but I didn't love it.

Too Tempting follows Gabe and Zoey, who meet at a summer camp and start a relationship. But almost immediately a big secret from Zoey's sister's past links all of them together in a way that I just wasn't digging. From that point on, my opinion was a little tainted. It just seemed too far fetched, and the story moved a little too quickly for me to completely fall in love. But I did like Gabe and Zoey and I enjoyed their story. I just couldn't imagine something like this happening in real life. The romance was decent, but the plot line was a killer for me.

But if you think the plotline sounds like your cup of tea, you should give this book a try. it has a crazy high rating on goodreads (4.27) so there are plenty of people who have loved this one. It wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean it won't be for you.

Too Tempting was such a romantic read filled with twists and turns that will leave you wanting for more.

From the sexy cover to the synopsis, I was intrigued with the overall plot from the very beginning, and needless to say the story did not disappoint at all. We get to meet two characters whose worlds might look seem different, but they have a lot more common than they originally thought. Right from the start we get to meet Gabriel “Gabe” Lewis a retired NFL player whose fame made him wealthy and a magnet to just about every women out there. Coming back to his home town of Cherry Springs, Gabe was determined to continue doing what he loved the most, and starting his own camp for teens was just what he needed. Now he opens his camp every summer and it is then that he is also able to spend time with his siblings as well. With only just a week away from opening day he is getting ready to welcome the campers when a sudden guest arrives to his camp and everything changes after that. His attraction towards Zoey is magnetic and Gabe can't wait to make her his no matter what, but things don't always turn out like we plan them to and soon a secret threatens to pull them apart.

Zoey Zahn never expected to find herself attracted to her nephew's camping coach, but arriving ahead of schedule has put her in a awkward predicament and now she has no choice but to stay in the camp with Gabe and his siblings. Wanting to get some alone time to write proved to be difficult when all she could think about was the chemistry that she had with Gabe seemed to have the minute she arrived. But when the two couldn't hold back any longer things started escalating fast and soon her quiet evenings alone were the last thing on her mind. A sudden relationship started to blossom and as the two started to get to know each other, the more they started to fall in love. Yet, when they were just about to decide what to do next in their relationship, a sudden secret resurfaces that could endanger what they've already built.

I truly enjoyed reading Too Tempting, the main characters were funny and cute with each other. There relationship grows rather fast, but it worked well in the story. The twists that we get towards the end were definitely surprising, I did not see them coming at all. It's evident that both characters have their reservations when it comes to trusting other people, for Gabe being in constant spotlight has made him unable to find the right women who likes him for him and not his money. On the other hand, Zoey has almost the same problem, but what she worries about the most is not being good enough for Gabe. Throughout the story we get to see them both grow and in the end they learned to trust in each other if they want to have a future together. All in all, if you are looking for a steamy and sweet read filled with twists than I would highly recommend reading this book. The ending well literally melt your heart! :)

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This started out as a beautiful love story of ex-geek and retired jock falling in love. Zoey being the cool aunt went to football camp with her nephew because his mom couldn't attend. Gabe is the retired football god that runs the camp. It was insta love between him and Zoey.

Gabe and his cousins have turned going to the camp into a summer tradition. Their bond was enviable and family is everything to the Lewis cousins. They always have each other's back.

Zoey is a world famous author that doesn't have a social life. When she meets Gabe she doesn't think that it's real and that he's too perfect. Gabe was the perfect gentleman and always surprised Zoey with the sweetest things. I was all swoony while reading this and wondering what can possibly go wrong when I've already been half way thru this book and everything seems perfect. And then a twist I didn't see coming.

When I started the book it was a clear 5 stars for me until the twist that I won't mention because you need to grab the book and find out for yourself. But in all honesty, I couldn't stomach the twist and it turned me off.

I loved Gabe and Zoey and of course they got their HEA, but that twist wasn't for me.

Super Man ...yum!

Actually any one of the Lewis clan are drewal worthy. Gabe, as Zoey compared him to Super Man, is more than HOT. He's compassionate, passionate, communicates well, lives kids and family. Nearly perfect. Zoey is beautiful, smart, spends a lot of time in her head, and also loves her family. Ms. Lopez really did well in developing these characters. Her overall quality of writing was good. No cheating or cliffhanger, and you get some steamy intimacy scenes and a happy ending.

This is a new to me author and I was happy to pick up this title with it's sports tie in. This is the story of a retired NFL player and his close family of cousins. Gabe has never wanted an HEA but a mix up in weeks of his summer camp, brought Zoey to him and he can not stay away!

This book brings so much humor and good natured ribbing between the cousins. I found myself laughing out loud at their antics. I also fell completely in love with Zoey and all her quirks. Gabe and Zoey together seemed like a match made in heaven. It's a bit of insta love but the couple has some things to work on so don't think it was just smooth sailing until the end.

I'm not sure I am comfortable with the whole conflict in the story. I don't know that I have a better idea to create some tension, but it was kind of....ehhhh....for me. I think it could lead to more issues down the road.

Great start to a series. the cousins are all interesting in their own right and I look forward to reading more about them. Hopefully, we will be able to keep up with Gabe and Zoey as time goes by.

Bethany Lopez has created a beautiful world with her new series about the Lewis family. Gabe Lewis is a retired football player who opens up a camp to train young kids and where he meets zoey. Zoey is a nerd, success author who as accompanied her nephew Chistoper to the camp.
The first time they meet and the road to falling in love is sweet, funny and really really cute.
Gabe yurns out to be the perfect boyfriend material who is considerate, patient, loving and sexy. Zoey is really happy and comes out of her head space every time she's with him. However, her sister Chloe brings some life changing news which turns their world upside down.
I could relate to Zoey's moral dilema and Gabe's pain. I especially loved how Gabe handled the whole situation and could only ask Zoey to hold his hand.
The end couple of chapters where Zoey meets Gabe's family was the best. I love such big families full of love.
All in all it was a nice read and Chloe's story would be really interesting to read.

This sexy Insta-Attraction romance jump starts with an electric jolt and keeps you holding on tight with its twisty turns. Bethany Lopez's new series, The Lewis Cousins, kicks off with the spirited and fast paced first installment, "Too Tempting". The hero, Gabe, is a sexy, charismatic, down to earth family man. Gabe's a retired professional NFL player who runs a summer youth sleep away football camp. The heroine, Zoey, is quirky introvert who stumbles upon Gabe and his cousins the week before the camp opens. She's unapologetic for her eccentricities and owns her nerdiness. Zoey's spending the week as a volunteer chaperone while her nephew attends the camp. But she mixed-up the dates and arrives at the campground a week early. Her appearance coincides with the annual Lewis cousins' week-long camping festivities.
"Too Tempting" sets the tone and establishes the characters for The Lewis Cousins' series. There are five cousins, three potential heroes (counting Gabe) and two upcoming heroines. Bethany Lopez takes a little time in this first novel to introduce what will be an important setting, Cherry Springs. Four out of the five cousins reside in town or just outside the city limits. The small town is likened to the "Gilmore Girls" setting of Stars Hollow. Being that Gabe is an ex-professional ballplayer he's pleased when it looks as if Zoey doesn't know of his fame. Zoey is also harboring a "secret identity" that one of Gabe's cousins figures out but doesn't share with Gabe. All of the Lewis cousins are extraordinarily charming, attractive, and entertaining. The storyline is incredibly engaging and immediately hooks you holding on to you with its fast pace and surprise turn.
"Too Tempting" is wonderfully addictive from Page One. Bethany Lopez has created characters, from main to secondary, who are engaging and interesting. Gabe and Zoey's romance is playful and sexy. The storyline is tight and intriguing. The pace is swift enough to grab your attention and keep you reading. I have two minor problems with this book. Firstly, I feel that Gabe acquiesces much too easily to the surprise which is dropped in his lap. Secondly, Zoey's reaction of being terribly conflicted and is right on target - that's not the problem. It's that she's suddenly empathic toward Gabe for a reason which had nothing to do with her original conflict. Other than Gabe's ability to take the unimaginable in stride and Zoey's rapid fire empathy, I loved "Too Tempting". I cannot wait for the next book in The Lewis Cousins series! I'm officially addicted!

Too Tempting is a cute sports romance. Gabe Lewis retired from the NFL and opened a camp for teenagers. He and his cousins go to the camp a week early so they can spend time together.
Zoey is a quirky, lonely, writer. She stumbled into the camp early, not realizing she was a week early, and ended up taking up residence in one of the cabin's on the property instead of going to a hotel.
A spark is instantly there between Gabe and Zoey, and both of them keep their identities a secret until they got to know each other better. But on the last day of camp, a wrench is thrown into their budding relationship and Zoey had to determine if what they had was worth the risk or if it was time to throw in the towel.
The story had an interesting concept. It had a family of cousins dying to spend time together with an unknown outsider thrown into their usual mix.
Gabe desired to help teens out because he was genuinely a nice guy. His enthusiasm was catchy and it made me love him.
But about halfway through the book, there was an odd twist and I felt like I started reading an entirely different book. I felt like the camp should have been all summer and not rotating the kids out every week. That way, they could still have the drama that went down but it was still in the world the book originally started in.
Two smaller issues I had was that although the writing was good, it wasn't great. Bethany kept using "as" as a connector and although it's good once in a while, she started to use it multiple times on a page. And the second thing was even though sex isn't the most important thing to me in a good romance book, a lot of the earlier sex scenes were either abrupt or you were in Zoey's head so much you were throw out of the scene. Then about halfway through, the sex scenes were really amazing and I couldn't stop reading.
Their romance started so quickly and was pretty much "love at first sight" and that bothered me but as time went on, I started to adore the easy relationship that grew between them. I also loved how Gabe's cousins made Zoey feel apart of their group.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good sports romance with a twist (even if the twist wasn't for me, others may love it).

Twist on a sports romance by mixing it up with a kids camp set up between a former NFL star & a paranormal writer

Too Tempting is my first read by Bethany Lopez but definitely won’t be my last. Bethany Lopez puts a unique twist this sports romance to make it a brilliant opposites attract read by mixing it up with a kids camp set up between a former NFL star and a paranormal writer. The book is fairly light-hearted, fast paced, with some sexy scenes, before a wicked curveball you don’t see coming adds a bit of drama into the mix to make for a great ending.

Zoey and Gabe, who tell the book through dual perspective, have an incredible instant attraction that heats up very quickly as their paths cross after a mix up leaves Zoey and Gabe spending time together without her nephew, Chris. The two characters were very likeable strong characters, Zoey in-particular having lots of little quirky and sometimes geeky moments that made her a refreshing change from just a fairly plain female lead. You do have to be open to slight insta-love / attraction to fully enjoy these two opposites attract characters. I loved the sub-characters in this book and can’t wait to read more about them in future books.

Too Tempting is incredibly well written with an easy flow and pace. The plot was solid from start to finish with the curveball towards the end keeping you intrigued as to how things would play out. Too Tempting is sweet with the perfect amount of sexy that made it one of those enjoyable lazy day reads that can be devoured in almost one sitting. There is a sweet HEA to make this a standalone read.

Overall, if you enjoy a relatively simple, sweet but still sexy sports romance, definitely give this book a read! I loved it and will definitely be looking for books by this author in the future!

Bethany Lopez kicks off a new series (Lewis Cousins) with Too Tempting , and it is a complex romance that is entertaining, sexy and packs an emotional punch.

Gabe Lewis is a famous, retired NFL player who now runs a youth football summer camp. Author Zoey Zhan arrives at Gabe’s camp to chaperone her nephew, but she mistakenly arrives a week early, and there’s no nephew or any campers there. Gabe is attracted to Zoey, and when he discovers that she needs someplace quiet to work on her next book, he invites her to wait out the week at the camp with him. She and Gabe fall hard and fast for each other, and their instant lust/love feels a little rushed, but Gabe is an all-around nice guy, so I can see why Zoey might have been a goner from the beginning. As they embark on their heated relationship and things grow serious, real life throws a complication at both of them that neither expected. It could prove to be the roadblock to their happily ever after.

Too Tempting ’s story wasn’t what I expected - there is no way I could have predicted the twists in the plot, and I love an author who can surprise me in a romance. This is the first book of Bethan Lopez’s that I have read, and I am already looking forward to more of her work.

ARC provided by the author’s publicist, but no one made me write this review and my opinions are honest and my own.

Too Tempting is not like any other story I have read. And I mean that is a good/bad way. I was really enjoying the story, up until the last 20-30 percent.

The story started off with Gabe Lewis, a retired NFL star running his summer camp for kids. He is a good guy who is giving back. The Zoe shows up. Her nephew is attending camp and need a chaperon and his mom couldn't do it. The problem is, Zoe shows up a week early to the camp. Gabe offers her to stay anyways with him and his family. They are getting the camp ready, and since there is a pull he feels towards Zoe, he wants to explore it.

I liked their quirky relationship. Sure, I thought it was kinda too fast to fall for someone you don't know, but this is a book, so it worked.

And then, just like that, there is a plot twist so crazy, that I almost didn't finish the book. There is some things that don't work for me with books, and this twist was one of them. I am keeping this spoiler free, so I can't say what happens. I will say, I wish the pet stuck with just Gabe and Zoe and didn't work the second half of the book in it at all......

4 Stars!

Bethany Lopez is pretty new for me in the romance world and she definitely caught my eye with her sweet, yet slightly angsty small town romance. Too Tempting is book one in a brand new series sure to leave readers smiling while setting their hearts on fire.

Too Tempting is a sexy, sweet, laidback, and slightly angsty romance that hooked me from cover to cover. This book was crazy good... and today unpredictable in the best yet most complicated kind of ways. Bethany nailed it with this fantastic standalone and left me wanting so much more for the next in the series.

Gabe and Zoey have an intense connection from the moment they meet... one neither can deny. Her stumbling upon camp a week early is the best thing that could have ever happened. And just when they start that fall and think they can reach forever... secrets are exposed that snake up their worlds. One moment and life changes... forever.

Such a good book with a sweet, sweet happy ending. And that teaser for book two? You are very naughty Mrs. Lopez (:

I recommend this book.

This is a big DNF for me.

The big reveal shocked the hell out of me and then when the shock wore off, I just couldn’t bring myself to read anymore because I was just grossed out by it. I’m sorry but if the guy I was “falling for” (a serious case of insta love by the way) had sex with my sister and knocked her up resulting in the nephew I’ve come to know and love for the past 12 years, I’d have to walk away from it.

The whole romance was just so unrealistic. They fell into bed after one day of meeting each other and then he instantly becomes super possessive and wanting her to come home with him and meet all his family. Like that’s not enough to scare away any normal girl in her right mind...slow your roll, bud.

All in all, but eye roll from me.

I always enjoy books by author Bethany Lopez. She creates fast-paced contemporary romances filled with humorous moments, spicy moments, characters to root for and believable situations. Her latest, Too Tempting, is the first of a new series, Lewis Cousins, and I loved it!

Gabe is a retired football player and runs a summer camp for kids. Zoey is a successful author, an adorable geek, and loyal to her sister and nephew, Christopher. When she steps in to accompany Christopher to summer camp, she arrives a bit early. As in the camp hasn't opened yet. When she meets Gabe the sparks fly. Their attraction is instant. Interestingly enough, both keep their true identities secret, which helps set up an interesting dilemma later on.

I usually criticize insta-love in stories for various reasons, but in Too Tempting the instant attraction works. The author builds up the momentum between this couple, playing off of their intense connection for various reasons while keeping readers riveted to the page. The pacing remains steady and the characters are so enjoyable I flew through the book in one sitting.

I really enjoyed watching Gabe and Zoey play off of each other and fall farther for one another each time they meet. They make a great romantic couple. Zoey's dedication to family comes into question later on when an unforeseen situation arises. I won't spoil the outcome but will say it certainly creates tension for the couple. Gabe has a big family and his cousins are an interesting group of characters. I look forward to their individual stories in this series. Ms. Lopez has another hit series for her fans.

Although this is a well written story, the shocking content is quite eye opening and a tad bit uncomfortable. Which is probably why I changed my rating, back and forth, several times. I'm sure this "event" happens in life more often than we think! It should be a clear warning to those who think one night stands don't come with consequences. And the two reckless partners in this equation are not the only ones impacted! That being said, it is an interesting story, that is worth reading, and I will be thinking about it for a long time to come!

I had some mixed feelings about this one. The story had some unique elements, which I enjoyed. And it dealt with some of the realistic fallout from the central conflict of the story. My biggest issue was how quickly said conflict was resolved. I just wish the author would have drawn it out a little more and gave us a glimpse of them talking it out.

Other than that, however, I enjoyed the story...

Zoey and Gabe sure kept me guessing. They had instant chemistry and it was great to see how much they adored one another. Yes, there was a bump in the road and I think it was great to see both sides. The family dynamic of The Lewis cousin was everything and more. This story had so much emotions and I enjoyed it very much. 💛

I was cruising along loving this romance and then the "twist" happened. I didn't see that coming at all and it definitely left me with a bit of an "ick" . I did enjoy the story and could actually see something like that happening, I guess I just wasn't ready for it. I did LOVE the epilogue. I will definitely be reading more of this series.

I thought this one was pretty cute, until a secret came out towards the end and then it turned a bit creepy. I found myself having the same issues as Zoey, not sure if I could get past things. In the end I'm thinking I would have made the same choice she did.
