The Alyeska Ski Resort and Spa near Anchorage, Alaska is known for its beautiful mountains, relaxing environment, and delicious dining, but for Kayleigh Wilson, a trip to the frozen tundra was meant to offer so much more. After a past full of pain, she lived her life based on how little she had to feel, so when her brother offered a weekend trip to the resort where no one even knew her name, she jumped at the opportunity. For Kayleigh, this trip was exactly what she needed to put herself back in the game of dating and romance, but she never planned on meeting a man who could actually alleviate her past and allow her to experience every emotion she had shut off so long ago.

Benjamin Thomas, the man who awakens her heart from hibernation, is full of his own pain, but in his mind, some secrets are better left unshared. As Kayleigh faces her past and confronts Ben’s, she fights to keep herself from falling back into the darkness of unfeeling, but it may be at a price she isn’t willing to pay.

Lindsay Chamberlin is an author who is self publishing her own works. She grew up in Northern Virginia and has been writing since she was a teenager. She would constantly write in a journal, including her day to day life and random thoughts that she found noteworthy.

When she graduated from high school with English Honors and Math Honors, she knew her life would go in one of two ways. She would either become a writer or work in finance.

Finance won. Until recently, she did not think her dream of being a known author would ever come true, but thanks to self publishing, she is finally able to get her work out to the public in hopes that they will enjoy her short stories, novels, and select poems.

Her wish for her readers is that they will find themselves within her novels, living out every scene with the characters as if they were there with them.

Books are meant for our silent escape into another world that would normally exist only in our dreams. Please, enjoy!

Why?

Why do authors use real locations of places they are not familiar with when they could just make up a fictional place? The location errors in this book are insanely bad, from not knowing the name of the town where Alyeska is located to not knowing the hotel at all.
This could maybe be forgiven if they writing was worth it, but this book badly needs an editor. In particular the author should look up the definition of martyr, as it clearly doesn’t mean what she thinks it does. The plot is very weak and ridiculous as well as repetitive.
The best I can say is that’s it’s a beautiful cover.

Alyeska, by Lindsay Chamberlin, is a delightful romance, with just the right amount of sizzle between a young couple meeting at a weekend getaway in an amazing setting which all takes place in Alaska. What makes the book even more magical was discovering that "Alyeska"actually is a real place which made me dream about one day seeing this amazing place for myself.
This is a great book to curl up with by the fireplace with a glass of wine and a cozy blanket.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book which I won through goodreads

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well thought out and the story moved along at a good pace. It was good how the back stories of the main characters, Ben and Kayleigh, were revealed bit by bit so we got to know them better and appreciate their struggles all the more.
I was fortunate to win this book on Goodreads.

Wonderful book

I enjoyed the characters. I loved how all the pieces of Ben fit together at the end. Also, to back track in the book, loved the relationship growth with brother and sister. It was an interesting and enjoyable book for me to read.

I think the book was very good and I really liked it. I just couldn't put the book down. I also like how everything works out between Ben and Kayleigh.
