Bitter Pill

Rate this book
The Truth Is... It's been a bad year. Until recently, I had a handsome husband, a good job, and a renovated condo in Chicago. Now, thanks to one "exotically beautiful" paralegal, I'm divorced, faking my way through a freelance writing "career" and living above my hypochondriac mother's garage in Morrisville, the small town I couldn't leave fast enough at eighteen. On top of all that, I just found Doc Hallacy, local pharmacist, dead behind his counter. The worst part is, he's the third dead body I've stumbled across this year. ...A Bitter Pill I guess it's bad luck, or maybe just bad timing. Former bad boy turned Morrisville Sheriff, Jake Bristol, thinks I'm just too nosy for my own good. But as a struggling freelancer for the Morrisville Gazette, it's my job to be nosy. So as I delve deeper into Doc's death, I'm not surprised to find that things don't add up. This isn't a "robbery gone wrong" or the work of a desperate junkie. I'm pretty sure someone has a secret they're killing to keep. Only question is--who's next?

Rennie discovers Doc Hallacy's body when going to the pharmacy to pickup her mother's prescription. He is someone the whole town seemed to love, so when she starts investigating (she is a reporter) she finds that things arent always as they seem. I find her an interesting character and hope there is more in this series
