Once you enter, anything goes. No fantasy—however dark and dirty and depraved it may be—is forbidden. You have no past, no inhibitions, no morals…and no memory. All you have to cling to is the memory of a scorching touch, a searing kiss, the wet slide of skin on skin, and the heat of breath across your flesh. The king and would be queen

This series is an interesting concept. Each is a snippet into another life of the same couple. I am curious to see where Hannah and Conrad end.

Another poopy book from this series. Conrad and Hannah only had sex two times in this book. There was more action between Conrad and Charles on the battlefield than there was between Conrad and Hannah in the bedroom...or throne room. This one was boring. And, again, there were aspects of voyeurism with the messenger getting an eyeful of Conrad banging Hannah over the arm of the throne. Brings new meaning to the term 'king me.'

While this book didn't get my motor running, I did want to continue the series. However, I didn't want to pay for room 6 after the disappointment of the last two "rooms." I will skip to room 7.

Each book is essentially repeating the last. Open door. Find an unusual situation, but you are drawn to HIM. You find him, you have ungodly amounts of sexual relations with him. Then the others arrive. It's good or bad. Maybe both. Some doors have both, some only one. But they are all the same. Hannah and Conrad finding each other. And then being torn apart.

BUT I CAN'T STOP!!! I AM ADDICTED!!!

I'm scared for the next few doors though. I'm technically 60% into the overall story where the proverbial shit hits the fan. So long castles and moats and kings. Hello Scottish countryside and kilts and claymores!!!!

The Black Room: Door Five by Jasinda Wilder is part of a serial and definitely should be read in order.

This review will be short since I didn't enjoy this door. The story didn't hold my attention so I put it down for a bit and promptly forgot everything that had happened in this particular scenario, so I had to restart it. I struggled to finish.

It takes place during another historical setting, but in this one, Conrad is a king of some kind and Hannah is promised to someone else. Like many of the other doors, this one relies heavily on sex to propel the story, but there's quite a bit of violence and war in this, which I don't enjoy reading at all.

Much of my enjoyment of this series has been in the mystery of what exactly The Black Room is, but with all the repetitive sex scenes, the focus seems to shift at times to how graphic the book can be. Like Door Four, Door Five is missing some much-needed emotion, which would give the explicit sex scenes some context and meaning. Unfortunately, I found this installment lacking.

I received an ARC for an honest review of this work. Great story, reminiscent of Rosemary Rodgers and Bertrice Small. Weaving eroticism through great storytelling. Enjoyed the historical theme of this Door. Love the continuation of characters through the stories, and their intensity of feelings. Get ready for Door 6.

OMG

The Doors are becoming an addiction to stop reading. The are pulling you in one to next. Can't put them down. Amazingly told stories full of hot sexiness love danger and leaving you wondering what come possibly be next for Hannah. Best series I've read this year.

Door 5, leaves two men vying for your love and affection but really its all about control. Who will the lady end up with? Door 5 proves to be just as hot and sexy as all the previous doors!

So far I think book 3 has been my favorite. This one seems more old school fairytale and falls a bit flat. More plot twisting however. And still an ok read

“Once you enter, anything goes. No fantasy--however dark and dirty and depraved it may be--is forbidden. You have no past, no inhibitions, no morals...and no memory.

Step through into THE BLACK ROOM.” (Book #1)

“Silence. Perfect, utter silence. A drowning quiet. A longing, deep and unfulfilled, soul-deep, a bone-deep need for something I cannot have; the first sensation. Pang of loss, gnaw of guilt, acid bite of shame, burning heat of lust, a deep delicious soreness in all the right places—all of these sensations roil and coil and mingle together, wedded; the second sensation. I open my eyes; the third sensation.
I’m in the room of black doors.” (Book #2)

The Black Room Series By Jasinda Wilder and Jade London kept me enthralled from beginning to end. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this series, but the synopsis intrigued me so much that I went on a one-clicking frenzy and snapped up the entire series to devour- and devour them I did.
The books are all quite short, quick and easy reads. But each one packs a punch, keeping you guessing, and completely engrossed by the story. I had so many questions right from the outset. There is a real mysteriousness to the whole story that had me trying to guess where the it was leading, and entirely unsure of the outcome.
Each book adds another layer to this complex and intriguing story- there are so many facets, which when layered on top of one another begin to build a truly fascinating story. From book one where we are really not sure where we are, how we got there, or what the heck is happening, the black room, all the doors, all the discoveries, and encounters, book after book, door after door, layer upon layer- things are never quite as they appear- and they way this series/story is pieced together, and the ‘revelation’ at the end was really clever!
This book/series is HOT, erotic, dark, delicious, and unputdownable. I read the entire series back to back- and enjoyed every second. This is definitely a story/series I won’t soon forget. It’s one I can see myself revisiting again in the future.
Brilliant!

Thank you, Ms. Wilder and Ms. London!!

Though the story of Hannah and Conrad in various situations, Conrad is always fighting for her, and the end is always the same. To me it deviates from the premise of no past. Because as each door she remembers him a little more every time. While I'm sure this is Wilder's intention when the premise says "You have no past, no inhibitions, no morals…and no memory"... well you should have no memory right?

Though I will continue to see what else can happen between Hannah and Conrad...the Black room series makes for rather a quick read.

Door 5 lands Hannah and Conrad in Medieval times. This is another door that I could see as the foundation of its own stand-alone story. My brain is still working overtime trying to put these pieces together.

Eh...this one’s not as strong as the predecessors I’ve read. I admit I skimmed. They can’t all be winners. Thankfully a quick read with one sex scene that was pretty good.

This is another tale with the same people only different ways of life.... I wonder how this series is going to end. Can't wait to read the rest.

This is one of the most unique series I've ever read. My recommendation is to go into it completely blind - don't read other reviews or summaries of any of the books. There is more to the plot than meets the eye.

MIND GAMES!

Still not sure where this series is going but each door is a different scenario with the same characters. The eras change each time and our lead lady, Hannah, can vaguely remember Conrad's roles in each.

Good series but confusing as heck! I won't hesitate to recommend!

What now.....?

I'm starting to feel that there will be a epiphany in the end of this series......but who knows?
In the beginning I was annoyed because it was all so diffusing but it's like a slow revaluation of the essence in this series.
I love how the author keeps me on the edge all the time.
Hannah is now coming to a conclusion that was hitting me in the beginning of this book.
It's hard to write a review of this series because I'm afraid to give away to much, the best I can do is advice you to read.
The feelings in this books is sometimes to much and at the same time not enough, I don't know how else to describe it. But I know this series is going to do something to me, don't know what but I'm going to the next book...........

Each of these novellas just lead you further and further down the rabbit hole. Never knowing when it will end. Details keep getting revealed but Jasinda just leaves you wanting more.
I want a happy ending for these two so bad but I will have to keep reading....
Very interesting concept... can be read as a standalone but each novella builds upon each other and a mystery unfolds...
Hot hot but will have to read all to understand the whole...

so I can see hints of Game of Thrones here and then some more hints of Outlander ...I am still in the dark just like our girl Hannah is as to where , why and how all this is happening . Still intrigues me but getting anxious we may never find out what dimension Hannah and Conrad and their sexual adventures are actually from. Jasinda what have you been drinking ?? Give me some !!

Enjoyable rwad

Another door, another fantasy in a different time and place. The one consistency is him! Behind each door he takes on a different guise but are we getting closer to finding out who he truly is? With three more doors to explore I'm hoping for some answers.
