Wow! Despite their painful past, Nate and Kendra just can't stay away from each other.
It's been 8 years since Kendra walked away from Nate when he was down on one knee proposing to her. Kendra humiliated him in front of his family and his teammates. Now Nate is in trouble for lashing out on a viral video trashing those same teammates and it's time to make things right.
But can Kendra get over her Daddy/trust issues and forgive her father in order to give Kai, Nate and Kendra's son, the family he deserves?
They say you should more forward not backward up and not down but we Nate & Kendra that advice did not apply. This second chance story is definitely one for the books. I loved how not only did Kendra & Nate got back together but how Kendra also got to change to rebuild her relationship with her father. It was nice to seeing Maya and Liam. I can't wait to what Reese Ryan has in store for in the coming books in this series.
I am very honoured and excited to be a Goodreads winner. It was a good Harlequin book. Kendra and Nate beat the odds and find their way back to each other.
Playing With Temptation #2 [A love for all time North Carolina (pro footballer) Nate Johnston built his reputation on talent, drive and good sportsmanship. Playing with Temptation is the second in Reese Ryan's Pleasure Cove series. Star wide receiver Nate Johnston unwisely releases some post-game frustration in a video that unfortunately goes viral, and realizes that his brother is right when he enlists media consultant Kendra Williams to help him weather the resulting storm. Kendra is not just an incredibly savvy PR professional though. She's also the mother of his son and the one who got away.
Reese Ryan does an excellent job with this second-chance story. Even though Kendra's reluctant to even try because of the damage her broken relationship with her father has left, she and Nate are compelling characters and it is easy to see both the strong chemistry that has never abated and the care and caution they both bring to the table. Nate and Kendra definitely have a lot to work through, and it isn't a quick fix. We readers cheer all the way for them to find their way to a win-win!
This is Kendra and Nate’s story. We met Kendra in the first book. She was giving fantastic advice when her sister was going through her trials and tribulations with Liam. Unfortunately, Kendra doesn’t take her own advice.
She’s so afraid of getting hurt and being bitter like her mother, she has completely shut Nate out. I just wanted to bop her over the head. He hadn’t done anything it was just the thought that he might do something that has her all in a hissy.
Nate is a good guy and I give him props for sticking around and staying the course with Kendra. He is a hot head and it gets him into trouble, but he loves with his entire heart.
This was a nice read. It was also good to check in with Maya and Liam. We also meet Nate’s twin sister Vi and her “dude” Jase. Now that’s a story I wouldn’t mind reading.
This is the first book I have read by Ms. Ryan and it definitely won’t be my last. Kendra and Nate share a love that everyone, but them can see. Kendra’s refusal to overcome her fears was a bit annoying, yet understandable considering how deeply seeded they were. Nate was the ideal man, a bit hot tempered, but willing and ready to learn, show humility, and most of all forgive. Both of them experienced growing pains throughout the story and in the end it was worth it.
I enjoyed Nate and Dray's. Dray is dealing with an issue from childhood that is real to a lot of kids in the world. This issue has her giving up on love. Thanks to his brother Nate has a second chance to convince her to trust and love him unconditionally. Will they get their HEA?
With his career on the line, he needed a PR to get back on track. That's when Marcus steps in giving the job to Kendra. Seven years ago, Kendra broke his heart so he's reluctant for her aid. There attraction is off the charts. Wonderful story.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story line, although at the beginning I had thought it was going to very heavy with football matters. Glad it had more of a story, actually many twists and turns. Story seemed unfinished though.
The theme that intrigued me was the correlation of "Kendra and Nate" relationship with the interaction between "Kendra" and her father. Well told by the author among other topics.
Nate Johnston and Kendra Williams have been in love forever. They have a six year old together, but they broke up. Nate still loves Kendra this time she will have to win Mate's trust.
I really liked this couple, although a couple of times Nate made me want to hit him upside the head for his bad decision-making. But overall they were good together and their chemistry was on point.
This was a very interesting and intriguing love story. This love story reminds me of two people who really wanted to be together but was at an impasse, because they let the pass impede their happiness. Due to circumstances they were thrown together and their love won out! That's why I say love always win. I love the characters in this book, but is was enjoyable anyway. I also enjoyed how the author weaved this to its conclusion. The only let down was the sexual scenes weren't as hot as in the first book.
Book 2 in the Pleasure Cove series, and this book involves Kendra Williams and her ex, football Player Nate Johnson, who needs Kendra's PR skills so he can keep his job. One of my favorite new authors and I'm enjoying the stories.
