The Kind Worth Killing: Its a good book but just needs more intertainment to hook you, It just kinda fast and the flow of the story gets lost. I like the charracters and also the process how the plan should work. I will read another book by Peter swanson.
This was one of the most suspenseful novels I have read in a long time. If I didn't have to go to work during the day, I would have finished it all in one day!! The twists and turns made me breathless. The pacing was steady with it speeding up toward the end; the story didn't drag at all. The main characters, except maybe for Ted, were not likeable, so when they got their just desserts, it was very satisfying. I did not feel sorry for them in the least bit! The only slight criticism is that some of the circumstances were too coincidental and it was hard to believe the characters would be so closely intertwined in the Massachusetts-Maine--Connecticut-Merry Old England areas. I definitely look forward to ready more books by Mr. Swanson.
The first chapters alternate between Lily and Ted, how they meet, their backgrounds; the middle chapters alternate between Lily and Miranda, how they're connected in the past and now the present, and the last part of the book the chapters alternate between Lily and Kimball, a police detective. As with other Peter Swanson books, the story has great twists and a surprising ending. The story initially reminds me of the Hitchcock movie Strangers on a Train, but then when the characters begin connecting, it takes some different turns. A great escape read; the perfect book to distract a reader on a rainy day.
This book had many twists and turns that left my jaw on the floor. The way the author switches perspectives between the characters really provided a lot of insight into the characters and made me feel like I knew each of them very well. I've never had a murder mystery told in quite this fashion, and I truly felt like I was on a metaphorical roller coaster as I navigated each narrator's version of the story. I highly recommend this book to those that love a good murder mystery x Gone girl vibe!
A great read. Lots of twists an turns, a read page turner. The term cat and mouse comes to mind. A very clever plot. East to read and hard to put down. I will certainly look out for more by Peter Swanson.
Excellent book. This book had several plot twists. I did not expect the last one which was the last paragraph. It was very well written. I also read it on books on tape and it was well read by a cast of actors.
I loved the writing, the plot, character development and all the twists and turns. While dark, it kept me up late at night to find out what was happening next. Great read!
It was a good page turner throughout. Too many plot twists that I became uninterested after a while. Overall enjoyed the book just not anything above and beyond my expectations.
I’ve read a lot of books with great premises but terrible executions. This book was a reminder that i could get hooked and like it all the way through. Would recommend, very creepy, great twists .
This is my second time reading this book. One of my absolute favourites. I liked how the author switches between Ted’d and Lily’s voices to give the reader a well rounded story. This was one of the books that reignited my love for reading.
