The Bourbon Street Boys #4

Wrong Turn, Right Direction

Rate this book
Tamika Cleary takes a wrong turn up a one-way street—and straight into Thibault Delacroix’s leg as he steps into the road. But Mika’s in a hurry, and she certainly doesn’t have time for a guy who can’t even look both ways before crossing, even if he does have a cute face, a body to die for, and the darkest, thickest eyelashes she’s ever seen.

Unfortunately for Mika, fate has other ideas. When she’s threatened by her employer, a Russian mafia boss known as “The Thief”, she’s forced to accept Thibault’s help. As the co-owner of the Bourbon Street Boys security firm, he believes he can keep her safe. But Mika has a whole load of trust issues—and the pushier Thibault is about helping, the more stubbornly she tries to resist.

Mika may have taken a wrong turn the day they met, but will she finally let someone steer her in the right direction?

Wrong Turn, Right Direction is book four in The Bourbon Street Boys series by Elle Casey.

Do you believe in fate? That things always happen for a reason? Tamika Cleary didn’t know that turning the wrong way down a one way street and running smack dab into a very good looking and very angry man would change her life. Thibault Delacroix was right where he needed to be at the right time. Two people, crossing paths at the exact time they needed to. Fate had to be at work here.

 :

We met Thibault in the previous books. He has watched his partners at Bourbon Street Boys find the loves of their lives, one by one. He has pretty much accepted that it’s not going to happen for him. Why he went to THAT coffee shop that day, somewhere that is out of his way, he’ll never know. Why he didn’t look both ways like he ALWAYS does before stepping off that curb, he’ll never know. That’s when the crazy lady ran into him, injuring his leg. But it didn’t take him long to realize that something else was going on here. She needed help, and he couldn’t stop himself from stepping right in and doing what was needed.

 :

Tamika or “Mika” admits she made some bad choices these past five years that have gotten her into this predicament. She’s trying to do the right thing now, though. She’s watched her evil boss, Pavel, do horrible things time and time again. So she became an informant. She’s been keeping the books for Pavel and has been painstakingly storing the files in “the cloud” for safe keeping until it’s time turn them over. But the stress of the situation is making her sick. She eats antacids like candy. She can’t take it anymore and is going to tell the police that she needs time to get herself straightened out before she goes any further. That’s where she was going on that day when she made that wrong turn, and ran into the man who would change her life.

files in the cloud:

“He’s complicated, stubborn, kind, firm, and sexy…all these things rolled into one solid man.”

Thus starts the crazy wild ride in store for Thibault and Mika. Mika finds it hard to trust Thibault. She’s never been able to trust anyone before. And Thibault, with his superman complex, is so pushy. She will not be told what to do. She’s managed to get this far on her own. She can’t help but think, though, that it would be so nice to finally have someone at her side to count on, to not be alone for the first time in a long time. To allow herself to actually trust this man.

I seriously fell in love with Thibault. He was so patient with Mika. He seemed to know just how to help her, when to push and when to back off. Little by little, he proved to her that he would do whatever he could to protect her, to keep her safe. That she was the boss, that he wouldn’t make her do anything she didn’t want to do.

And baby makes three :):

This whole series is amazing and I have so enjoyed getting to know these characters and watching them fall in love. This one in particular just grabbed me right from the start. These two go through so much and we are kept on the edge of our seats until the very end with some very shocking surprises. The members of The Bourbon Street Boys and the partners they have fallen in love with prove again that family has nothing to do with blood, but everything to do with love. These people love each other and have each other’s backs no matter what. Together they have an iron clad bond that is as strong as any family could be. Thanks again to Elle Casey for bringing us these characters that make us swoon, make us smile, and steal our hearts.

“I hit you with my car! It’s not like you chose to be around me or involved with me. It’s not like you know me. I’m just some girl who almost ran you over, and you’re just the distracted dummy who got in my way, right? So, what I don’t get is how I go from being that girl to this person you want to protect at all costs. It doesn’t make any sense! You should be suing my butt off, not protecting it.”

3,5 stars

Let me begin with this: I love Elle Casey’s work. Shine Not Burn; MacKenzie Fire; All The Glory; her series War of the Fae and Clash of the Otherworlds have all been 5 stars. So clearly my rating has nothing to do with Elle Casey’s writing and talent in general.
It did just not work as I hoped for me.

This is the moment I’ll use variation of a broccoli analogy using carrots Jewlesy (fellow reviewer) used not so long ago: I can eat carrots and even enjoy it as my mom raised me right and taught me to eat vegetables every day. But I do prefer chocolate to carrots.
Well this story was like carrots: if I did enjoy the book I did not get the same pleasure from my read that I got from the above mentioned Elle Casey’s stories.

It was not easy to love the main female character Mika and that’s the main part of my issues with the story.
Mika is a very strong, independent and stubborn woman. She had no alternative than to work for a Russian Mafia Boss, Pavel . Now she wants out as he is threatening her life.
She has no friends and mistrusts everyone. She has her reasons as she did not have an easy life but it’s difficult to connect with a character holding you at arm’s length.

One life altering moment and she will literally bump into Thibault, one of The Bourbon Street Boys.
Thibault realizes very soon she has serious problems, no one to go to and as he is a very good guy, he wants to help her.

Little did he know the damsel in distress had a fiery temper and a stubborn streak!

Mika was neck deep in problems but did not want to accept Thibault’s help before a very long time. I get you can have your pride and she had a difficult past but there’s a difference between being prideful and foolish! She did not have the luxury to reject his help and it took her a long time before begrudgingly accepting said help. I just wanted to shake some sense in her head. Not a good sign right?

“In a few hours he’ll be gone from my life, and letting him think he has any say in that is a mistake. I am the captain of this ship. I decide how it runs and where it goes. I don’t care how nice he is or how good he looks in the morning, he is not going to push me in a direction I don’t want.”

What was also a little bit unsettling: I did not know what Mika looked like. Either I’ve been terribly distracted in the beginning (it’s a possibility) either there isn’t any physical description of Mika. We know what Thibault looks like as well as the other side characters but Mika… not so much. Why?
I recon this is not mandatory in a book but given that I already had a hard time connecting with her it did not help figuring her out.

Their relationship was also somewhat hard to believe in. Why? Because Mika gave mixed signals. This is a romance book but Thibault was like an afterthought as a romantic interest. Yes she is ogling him, yes she says he is pleasing to the eyes but again she kept her distance. Of course she had other problems and priorities plus a mobster chasing her but it did not contribute to sort through their feelings. And it had nothing to do with a lack of steam or sex scenes as some books are hotter than hot without any real sex scene, just because the chemistry is out of the charts.

Enough with my issues! Let’s talk about what worked really well for me.

-Thibault aka Superman.

He honestly saved the book. He was pushy but the right kind of pushy as he wanted to help a damsel in distress. Even with one hurt leg he was also very resourceful and fully able to protect Mika with the aid of his team. You have to admire a man that even temporarily crippled has your back and can take care of you! Usually men are big sissies when hurt or ill but not Thibault. Respect!

-The side characters and their connections. This is the fourth book in this series and even if I haven’t read the other ones I did not feel lost. I loved reading about Thibault’s friends and family, how a great and efficient team they made. They’re tight knit and help without question asked.

-The last 30%. That’s where everything happens that with the first 10% setting the story. Once Mika opened herself to Thibault and began trusting him it was easier to grasp and believe in their feelings, in their story, in everything in general. Twists and turns rain in the last part holding my attention till the end.

So will I read other books by Elle Casey? Certainly as I’ve loved her other works. Would I recommend this book? Well I would certainly tell you to make up your mind because my issues could not be problems for you.

Dadgummit. This was so close to being a perfect series for me. But alas, this last book didn’t work for me. By halfway through this one, I was rolling my eyes like I normally do with romance novels. It wasn’t a bad book, per se, but the level of drama was higher and the level of humor was lower than the three books that it follows, and I felt strongly that it was the weakest link in the series.

The beginning was promising. Our protagonist thinks she’s been stress eating and suffering from terrible indigestion and possibly an ulcer, until she hits a Bourbon Street Boy with her car and goes into labor. Before she can even accept the fact she’s pregnant, Mika is giving birth to a beautiful baby boy in a nail salon, with an injured Thibault playing catcher. Which is where hilarity should’ve ensued. But it didn’t. *Disappointed sigh*

The thing is, Mika is an interesting character. A bookkeeper for a Russian mobster? Interesting. A bookkeeper who has been gradually squirreling away information so she can turn state’s evidence? Even more interesting. A bookkeeper for the Russian mob who is an informant and had no idea she was pregnant because she was so stressed? Fascinating! But we get all of that information within the first fifty or so pages of the book. The rest of the book just didn’t keep my interest. And Thibault, though a sweetheart, has the least amount of personality out of all the Bourbon Street Boys. He’s just a little bland comparatively.

I wish that Toni and Lucky’s story (book 3) had been the last book of the series instead of this one. It just lacked the spark of the other three. It fizzled instead of flared. Instead of laughing and getting super invested in characters, I ended up rolling my eyes a lot. Which makes me sad, because I really wanted to love this series all the way through.

The Bourbon Street Boys went out with a whimper instead of a bang. Even though it technically ended with a bang, because it ended with a sex scene. (Why?!) But overall, the series was super fun. I just wish it would’ve ended on more of a high note. But it’s still definitely worth reading. If you’re usually a romance fan, I think you’ll love this. If you’re not, at least give the first book or two a shot. Even though I was disappointed in this particular book, Elle Casey has earned herself a fan. I’ll be reading more of her work in the future.

DNF at 67%.

Oh Elle Casey, it's not you it's me. Your books are like Marmite for me, I either love them or I hate them. This one was doing so well and then Thibault went and spoilt it.

Tamika (Mika) Cleary is a book-keeper for a Russian mobster, she is on her way to the Police station when she takes a wrong turn down a one-way street and mows down Thibault Delacroix. Their heated exchanges about whose fault it was take a backseat when Thibault realises that Mika is going into labour, much to her surprise.

Alone, with no friends and no-one to trust, Mika reluctantly turns to Thibault and the Bourbon Street Boys, but she won't hand over the evidence she has on her former boss - that's her insurance.

As I say, this started well, Mika is totally shocked by giving birth and is trying to plan her escape from New Orleans, but stuck wearing a hospital gown and with her car having been towed she has limited options. Thibault has a superman complex and wants to save everyone, although he swears Mika is too much like his sister Toni for him to ever want a relationship with her, he struggles with his feelings for Mika.

But then it starts. Thibault is helping Mika because he wants to, he practically forces his help on her, and yet he also demands that she tells him everything. Over and over again. He bullies, he uses emotional blackmail, he exploits Mika's love for her son, he sulks, he insists she needs him but he can't help her (with an implied "at all") unless she tells him everything and gives him the codes to her secret files. He insists she trust him but seems incapable of trusting her. I got increasingly angry and when I feel compelled to throw my Kindle on the floor in rage it's time to DNF.

I'm sorry Elle Casey and I promise I won't request any more books by you from NetGalley. I say bully, you say bossy; I say doormat, you say in need of help from a big strong man.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

3.5 Stars!

This is the fourth book in the series and can be read as a standalone. All books in this series are based around all the characters in the Bourbon Street Security firm. You do see characters in previous books come back in the new ones so some readers may want to start with book one to get to know everyone.

Mika is in a bad way. She finds her self in a desperate situation and working for the Russian mafia. She wants out and decides to take the risk of being an informant for the police. Unfortunately, her run in with Thibault has derailed her plans and now she's on the run.

Ok so I'm being purposely vague on the plot of this book because I loved how this author had these two meet and I want you to experience it for yourself. It was highly entertaining!

This is a pretty fun series if you like suspense with your romance. Since it is based off all the guys in the security firm, we get to see them fall hard and fast for the women who seem to have trouble following them around.

I do feel this story is more heavy on the suspense than on the romance and that's why it wasn't my overall favorite in the series, but still a very enjoyable read. ARC provided by Netgalley.

I have to say that the first book in this series is one of my all time favorite books. I love it! May and Ozzie are perfection! The other two books in this series are decent, not as great but still good in their own right. This book however left me wishing for more. It wasn't bad but I expected so much more for Thibault. He was my favorite character, aside from May and Ozzie, and I wanted him to get a really epic love. This wasn't epic.

Falscher Weg, richtiges Ziel
Die Bourbon Street Boys, Band 4
von Elle Casey
Amazon Publishing Deutschland

✯✯✯ ½

If you were a fan of Wrong Number, Right Guy. You will enjoy this book. The series has a been a little hit or miss for me. I LOVED Wrong Number, Right Guy. The next two were a little flat for me. Luckily, Wrong Turn, Right Direction was mostly good.

Once again, Elle Casey makes me love things I should hate. The book focuses on Tamika (Mika) Cleary and Thibault Delacroix. For starters, Mika is seriously too stupid to live. Normally, I hate that phrase. I try to defend these characters to others. We all make bad decisions. We all have the instances in our lives where we really should have known better, but for some reason during that instance we didn't. But Mika deserves that phrase. I wish her stupid behavior ended there. It didn't.

But you know what? I don't care. I still found her to be thoroughly entertaining. And her erratic behavior was hilarious. See, more things that I should hate. I had more issues with Thibault. I felt like his character was not consistent with his portrayal in the three earlier installments. Which was really aggravating. I liked the cranky overprotective hard ass in the earlier books. Thibault was whipped way too early in the story for my taste. And fell into insta-love just a little to fast. Buuuuttt..........If I don't compare Thibault to his earlier versions, I loved him too. He had the perfect knack of saying just the right thing at just the right moment. So he is forgiven for being whipped so easily.

Overall, Wrong Turn, Right Decision was great installment in the series. Thank you, Elle Casey for bringing the fun back to the Bourbon Boys. I will now be continuing on with the series. I was afraid this might be the last one for me.

Peccato.

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I was actually rather surprised by this book! I've not been impressed with more recent installments of this series, but this one was actually rather entertaining! It started out with a bang, and while it was supposed to be fraught with tension, I actually found myself focusing on the relationship being built.

Mika and Thibault had an interesting dynamic being created. I liked how he was willing to sacrifice most of what made up his life for Mika. I also liked how strong Mika was as a heroine, especially with everything that was thrown at her.

The "suspense" plot was practically non-existent, and what was there fell very flat for me, especially the ending. I really felt that there was no resolution to the plot thread. This book also hinted at new members of the team, but nothing ever came of that either, so the reader is left wondering if this is the end of the series.

If this book is the end of the series, it's not that great of an ending! We don't find out until late in the book that 2-3 years have passed from the events of the previous installment, and that information is put in so haphazardly that it's easily overlooked. I'm also not entirely sure where things could go from here.

It was an entertaining read, but left me with more questions than actual answers.

This is the fourth book in The Bourbon Street Boys series, I have read all the book of that series though I did not remember them all that well before reading this one.
All the book from this series can be read at standalones.

This one is the story of Mika and Thibault. Mika works for bigass criminal, Pavel, who's part of the Bratva, she does his bookkeeping.
Except, Mika is also a CI and when she drives to see the detective in charge of the case, she has violent stomach pains and distracted, takes a wrong turn and taps Thibault with her car.
Thibault sees what she couldn’t figure out; Mika is in labor.
After delivering her baby in a nail shop, Thibault and his Superman complex starts feeling responsible for Mika and her son. The three of them end up having to lay low so that Pavel cannot find them.

I truly enjoyed this series. The characters were interesting, as were their stories. Their connection felt genuine and I could truly feel what Mika did. She was so fierce and untrusting, I could relate. The baby seemed cute as hell and I wanted to protect him with my life. Thibault was pretty great too, loyal, loving and all around adorable.

The intrigue, thriller part was just as interesting as the romantic part and kept me on my toes the whole time.

I read this pretty fast and had a really good time.
The best book in the series in my opinion.

My first book by this author and Wrong Turn, Right Direction is book four in The Bourbon Street Boys series by Elle Casey.
Reading it was a little bit of a mixed bag for me. Let me explain. I did love the main characters and their story but I think jumping in at book four without prior knowledge of other characters from the series or previous plots hindered my enjoyment of the book slightly as I felt that I was missing out on other characters connections to each other and this story.
Obviously the easy solution here is to read the first three books in this series and let me say that I was sufficiently impressed with Ms Casey's writing style for that to happen.
Witty, sassy, funny, with a hint of mystery and intrigue.

The plot was intense. The romance sweet. No sexy time until the last few pages, but if you're looking for an intense, suspenseful book where the main characters are on the run from a Russian mobster and end up falling in love along the way, look no further.

This was a challenging read. Had to take some time with self to come up with a reasonable review...

This was my first book to Elle Casey.
When I read the blurb, I immediately downloaded the book without any hesitation.

I really tried to like Wrong Turn, Right Direction, but we just didn't click together and I couldn't for the life of me connect with the characters or the story.

Tamika was working as a book-keeper for a Russian gangster called Pavel.
Having enough of the monster who destroyed her life, she decided to turn him in, send him behind the bars and live peacefully in another state.
On her way from the Police station, Mika took a wrong turn that would totally change her life.

Nearly crashing Thibault Delacroix's knee wasn't something she was ready to admit to the arrogant sexy jerk. It wasn't her fault he crossed the street while looking at his phone.

"I might’ve made a wrong turn, but he’s the dummy who walked out into the road without looking. It’s his fault he’s hurt, not mine."

Soon the angry exchanges between the two about whose fault the accident was, was going to be forgotten when they both realised that Mika was going into labour.

Surprise!

Who'd have known the bug that was driving her up the wall was non than her unknown baby...

description

Mika's life wasn't easy. Losing her family, having to work as a prostitute then being raped and abused by her tyrant employer and other men in her life made her have trust issues.

"I’ve always noticed men’s hands for some reason. Maybe because they’ve often been used against me, so I have to keep an eye on them."

Being taken care by a total stranger was new to her. Her life was already messed up but with the her newborn baby and her maniac of an employer was looking for her, things became more than she could handle.

When Thibault helped Mika give birth to her child, he felt a sort of a connection with her. Helping damsels in distress was his speciality. But the more time Thibault spent with Mika, the more he wanted her. And that in itself was driving him crazy because the last thing he wanted was a relationship that would complicate his life.

I don't know about other people but this book wasn't fun to read. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

I made the mistake of trying to jump from the Kindle edition to the audio edition for my commute. WARNING: Don't do it. I wanted to puncture my own ear drum. That Tracie Christian was paid for this recording is appalling. She should never be allowed to read for an audio book ever again.

OH MAN!

Mika Cleary has had a tough life. Her parents are both criminals, thus forcing her grandmother to care for her. And when she passed, Mika was all on her own. Desperate to provide for herself, she got mixed up with a Russian mafia boss! She was trapped in a scary and sticky situation when fate stepped in and literally hit her with her superman. Or rather – she hit him.

Thibault Delacroix, the last single member of the Bourbon Street Boys, took a wrong turn in the right direction. (See what I did there?) When, BAM, he was hit by some crazy woman going the wrong direction down a one way street. After a shocking surprise, Elle Casey style, Thibault can’t abandon Mika to deal with her crazy situation all on her own. He catches a lot of grieve from the team because Mika trusts no one, and they think he is in over his head – both in trouble and in love.

I really wanted to give this story a better rating, but I just couldn’t. Elle Casey knows how to write and take the reader on a wild ride – no arguments there. However, it was rushed at the important parts and dragged out in other parts. The first 10% of the book was great. It was wonderfully written and left me wanting more. As the book went on, it slowed down quite a bit but I was still enjoying it. The frustrating part, for me, was the ending. It felt extremely rushed and left a few things open-ended. A very, very bad pet-peeve of mine. For example, there is a chapter towards the end of the book that it two pages long. TWO! I mean, really?

Also, I know this book is all about Mika and Thibault but it is – to my knowledge – the last of the Bourbon Street Boys, so could we have not gotten an epilogue or something. There were things brought up, such as kids, which I would have loved to gotten some insight on. To me, this book already felt like it didn’t quite follow the flow of the other books. It was kind of the black sheep of the series. So to not to have any details on the team as a whole was quite frustrating to me.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a good book. I am just so invested in the team that I was upset that this didn’t wrap up the series in the way I needed it too. Maybe Mrs. Casey left things open-ended for a reason. There is a new team member, as Thibault mentioned briefly, so maybe we will see the gang again.

I still recommend this series to anyone who likes a good witty romance read. It is a story that will stick with you. I know I will be thinking of the gang for a while, and I might have to even go back and visit them soon. 

Book 4 in The Bourbon Street series follows Tamika Cleary (Mika), reluctant accountant for Russian mafia boss, Pavel Baranovsky, as she runs into Thibault Delacroix (literally), as she drives the wrong way up a one way street. The story was intense in places with some light fuzzy moments. Thibault becomes Mika's superhero. When Mika's circumstances change rather unexpectedly she has no choice but to leave her life behind and run. Luckily for her, she ran into the one person who could keep her safe, she just needs to believe in him. With the help of The Bourbon Street Boys Security team, Thibault promises to keep her safe and help her to finally bring down Pavel's empire . I've been loving this series and all the characters, however, I didn't warm to Mika, I found her harsh, untrusting and unrealistic. I know, I know, it's how she's supposed to be and that's how she was written. Her flaws, her negativity and her unwillingness to trust Thibault after everything he did for her just did not appeal to me. Realistically, if that was me, I'd have taken everything Thibault was willing to give and more, he was the perfect dream boy, I loved him, Mika's flaws just made Thibault's character too good to be true, how could he be so patient and understanding? Opposites do attract and they were definitely opposites, Mika the pessimist and Thibault forever the optimist, believing everything happens for a reason. Brilliant plot and great writing.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

"Momento sbagliato, vorrei dire."
"No, intendo proprio il momento giusto.

#1 Wrong number, Right guy - L'uomo giusto al numero sbagliato - recensione
#2 Wrong place, Right time - Al momento giusto nel posto sbagliato - recensione
#3 Wrong question, Right answer - La risposta giusta alla domanda sbagliata - recensione
#4 Wrong turn, Right direction - La direzione giusta alla curva sbagliata

This is the fourth book in the Bourbon Street Boys series by Elle Casey.

Is this book over the top? Yep. But even though it is a fantastical situation, you can’t help but love it. This book features the Bourbon Boy Thibault, co-owner of the securities firm where this series is set.

Here we have a convergence of happenstance. Thibault decides to go to a coffee shop across town and steps into traffic without looking. Mika is in labor and doesn’t know it and drives down the street in front of said coffee shop going the wrong way on a one way street. Of course, their lives crash into one another. Thibault delivers Mika’s baby and it is grumbling and clashing all the way through the book.

I love how the author always puts most of the background characters into the forefront from time to time. It makes it all feel like an unorthodox family made up of this unlikely group.

I have to admit that the attitude of Mika was so strong that I wondered if she would even relent and let herself fall in love with Thibault. It was literally like watching a trainwreck over and over. I totally wish there were more books in this series since I loved all of then so much. I am sad it is over.

Overall it is a great read. And a wonderful series!

Loved so much about it. If you like romantic suspense mysteries, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

Best Of The Bourbon Street Boys

OMG!! Best one so far, I love every single page, every single word and every single character (of The Bourbon Street Boys Security and Mika). Reading it was like an incredible thrill ride and I didn't want it to end. I loved getting to spend time with my "friends" from previous books in the series. They are such a wonderful bunch. I know that each of the BSB group have gotten their HEA but I don't want the series to end. I want more, more, more!!

Thibault has watched all his family of coworkers meet their someone special and fall in love and gave no thought to it happening for him. Content being the favorite uncle to his niece and nephew. Then one day he wasn't looking and stepped in front of a moving car. The beginning of something bigger than he could have ever imagined. The driver was Tamika and she was in trouble. Superman Thibault, to the rescue. He helped her and kept helping her every time she needed him, whether she wanted it or not. Mika had some bad men after her and needed help to hide from them. But what happens when it becomes too much even for Superman? Will he always be able to save her?

DNF at 20%

this series has unfortunately lost its appeal. the writing is shoddier and the dialogue really isn't as witty as in the first two. I probably should have stopped after the third. this one wouldn't get over a 2 star rating.
I mean the main character didn't know she was pregnant so that kid was just a weird added plot device. could have had drama without since she was a book-keeper for the mob and an informant (as stated in ch1). plus, she then had a weird attitude problem about everything and came off really unlikable. there wasn't any chemistry, unlike in the others. most of the writing felt lazy and cheesy, as well.

Elle Casey’s latest book in the ‘Bourbon Street Boys’ series is ‘Wrong Turn, Right Direction’ and it was a 4 star read and a good addition to the series.

Thibault’s was a story I was looking forward to reading as I wanted to see him get his girl and the happiness the others had found. He is a loving, caring, protective but also strong man that deserves happiness.

Unfortunately I did find Mika a bit hard to take for part of the book although by the end she had grown on me quite a bit. She was wary of others and with good reason but it does come across as self centred and off-ish at times.

Overall another good read to add to the series and it was great to visit the Bourbon Street Boys again.

This series has been hit or miss for me. I adored Wrong Number, Right Guy but the following two books left me disappointed. I've longed for another book that contained the chemistry and banter that was so prevalent in book 1. Wrong Turn, Right Direction was a mostly enjoyable read. It made me remember what I enjoyed most about the Bourbon Street Boys. There's a slow burning romance, lovable hero, great supporting cast, fun banter, and over the top antics. The mystery aspect is predictable and some of the plot was too unbelievable. Overall, it was entertaining light read and a solid addition to the series.
