A Dangerous Secret…
As a half-breed wolf shifter, Sophia has spent her whole life convincing her pack that her tiger side doesn’t exist. Only her adopted father, Nash Jenkins, knows the truth: that it’s a dangerous, out-of-control monster—a ticking time bomb that he plans to use to destroy the Silverlake wolf pack from the inside.

A Deal Breaker…
Whether it’s stopping a war or cutting a business deal, Jesse Travis is the Silverlake pack’s go-to negotiator. Negotiating a mating contract between his pack’s Enforcer and the daughter of the powerful Nashville alpha looks like a slam dunk—until Jesse and his wolf fall for Sophia like a ton of bricks.

A Deadly Threat…
No man has ever made Sophia feel the way Jesse does. But if she tells him the truth and turns against her father, Nash will out her as a rogue tiger and give her to the Shifter Council to be put down. So when unexpected danger drives Sophia’s wild side to the surface, Jesse has to tame her tiger and convince her to become the woman he knows she can be—or die trying.

Silverlake Shifters
Smokin’ hot shifter men with hearts of gold; the strong, passionate women who love them; secrets, lies and danger; naughty, steamy love scenes—and happily ever afters.

A. Wilde is doing a great job of cultivating dynamic characters and relationships in such a short amount of time.

A couple times I kept thinking how is she going to tie this up and put a bow on it that feels appropriate and not rushed. And yet she's comes through every time.

I really had to exercise control and not skip this story and go straight to Kane! Boy I'm glad I took my time and read it! It was def worth the read.

Sophia and Jesse had such great chemistry. They were the perfect balm for each other's raw parts.

I love how A. Wilde always finds a way to tie in the humor and the sexy banter **swoons** because lady boners def start with the mind!

You get me laughing, giggling like a school girl and then jump to schmexy times I.am.a.goner.

Anyway I'm rambling when I could be reading Kane - The Enforcer! Onto book 4

Action And Suspense

4.5 Stars.

I liked this one more than the second book. There was more action and suspense in it.
Loved LOVED Jesse. Sophia was fantastic.
Great steamy scenes and just an all around fun story to read.
I can't wait to read the next book which is a spinoff series of this and starts off with Kane!

Jesse Travis the negotiator for the Silverlake Shifters is in Nashville with jase, his Alpha, Emma, Jase's mate and Kane their enforcer to form an alliance with Nash, the leader of the Nashville Shifters, a large and powerful pack.

He didn't expect to find his mate and never even dreamed she would be his Tiger Mate. Sophia is contracted to Kane to be his mate until Jesse and her connect before he finds out she is Sophia. On a trip together across country to Idaho, they take a detour, are attacked and captured. Taken to an underground bunker full of rooms with many shifters, they plan a daring escape where jesse uses his mega electronic skills and hot wires the security system and shorts out all the power releasing all the shifters. Another big surprise comes when he finds out she is not only a wolf shifter but a rogue tiger shifter too because she had one of each for parents.

The action continues with the escape, a run across country, a near capture, killing the bad guys and help from unexpected other shifters, betrayal and finally justice and a happy ending for Jesse and Sophia as they enjoy the bond and learn how powerful it is to trust and support each other.

MY RATING SYSTEM

1 star--didn't finish, it was so awful

Do I need to read books before this one: probably
Cliffhanger: not really

SUMMARY
The Silverlake pack is in Nashville, negotiating for temporary access to the Nashville pack's territory so they can get Alexander Grant. Jesse sees energies, calms them so people can keep talking instead of posturing. Jace doesn't want all Nashville's young males in his territory, so Kane offers a mating contract. Nash agrees, offers Sophia, his adopted daughter. At a break, Jesse goes onto the balcony, sees a limo drive up and a bunch of women get out. He sees the one that must be the adopted daughter. Then he sees a sun goddess. Their eyes lock.

Nash has assured them that, though Sophia's mother was a tiger, she's all wolf. But that's not true. She shifts into a tiger when she's panicked or enraged. Nash wants her to invade the Silverlake pack, get her mate to want to be alpha, and split the pack so Nash can acquire that territory.

Jesse and his sun goddess spend the night together. The next day, Jace and Kane get called away, so Jesse will escort Sophia to Silverlake for the trial period. He feels betrayed when he sees his sun goddess is Sophia. On the route, they get detoured, then taken prisoner by Alexander Grant.

EVALUATION
Great suspense. The problem is presented right away--they're mates, but Sophia has to destroy Jesse's pack or be killed, and she's contracted to marry Kane. We definitely know who the bad guy is because the author makes Nash so crude. Then they get captured. The resolution to the captivity is great.

Great romance. Instant attraction, yes, then arguments, sharing vulnerabilities, working together, being each other's hero.

The story addresses some important issues: child abuse, human trafficking, and women as property. Although it's trite to assume Sophia's years of abuse are wiped away by the mating bond, I appreciated the theme of stepping out of silence into the light, even though it's scary.

We still don't know what's happening to Alexander. Kane opens up a little in this book, making me curious for his story. Terin gets a clue to her background. And we meet a bunch of other shifters.

RECOMMENDATION
To anyone who likes paranormal romance and suspense. This matches the intensity of Fugitive Mate and is an improvement over White Wolf Mate.

FAVORITE QUOTES
The panel was closed, the cover screwed down, but if he were able to MacGyver some tools….

That feeling of belonging, of being the center of someone’s world, fully accepted despite your faults and flaws.

You weren’t supposed to have to be tough to handle being mated—a mating bond was supposed to support you, make you stronger, make you your best self.

It was all so perfect and expensive that it gave Jesse the wild desire to shift to wolf and piss on something.

The years of silence were like a wall of glass. She knew that light and freedom were on the other side, but the thought of stepping through paralyzed her. Here, on this side, she knew what she faced. She’d nearly made her peace with it. The other side was a terrifying expanse of the unknown.

“I’m not a dufus. I’ll have you know I’m the only wolf in my pack who’s been to college.” He saw her hiding a smile. “You still have wolf breath.”

Bad intel can ruin your whole day.

PNR w/ themes of subterfuge, secrets and fated mates

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend the series be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters, consecutive timelines, and overarching themes.

There are scenes that could be triggers for sensitive readers, with examples provided below.

This is a fast paced PNR focusing on wolf shifters from the Silverlake pack in Idaho. Jesse is considered to be one of the pack leaders under Jace and Rafe (previous books #1 and 2). He is their resident nerd, handles the pack’s tech, and has a talent for smoothing tensions and emotions in others. Jesse has invented multiple apps that raised capital that helped buy their property and is one of the top negotiators in the country. What he is not is confident in his strength. Jesse views himself as an omega that is just tolerated because of his longtime friendship and bond with Jace and Rafe.

Sophie is the adopted daughter of the alpha over the Nashville pack. She has secrets that she can never tell, because if anyone found out, it would be her death. Nash, her alpha, knows this and uses it to control her and make her do unspeakable things to others. Now he is forcing her to mate with the enforcer of the Silverlake pack. Sophie knows what is expected of her, but she wishes to be seen, accepted and loved for herself.

Then she meets Jesse and the pull is there right away. He must feel it to because the way he looks at her is too hard to resist. Sophie can’t resist the thought of one night in his arms even though he doesn’t know who she is. What will happen when he realizes that she is contracted to another? And it is within his pack?

⛔️ Contains scenes with references and details of subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some readers. These include adult language, semi-steamy intimate scenes and violence such as kidnapping, abduction, torture, death, murder, coercion, threats, blackmail, money laundering, subterfuge, etc.

There are a few grammatical issues, but nothing difficult to interpret. These included missing words (I.e. to, a, so) and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

Rogue

After the attack by hunters in book two, with ties back to Alexander Grant, the Silverlake Pack is in Nashville in negotiations with the local pack alpha for permission to use his territory as a staging area. But after two days of negotiations, Kane, the Silverlake Pack's enforcer throws out an unexpected mating alliance offer. Nash, the local alpha, jumps on the idea and offers up one of his daughters, a hybrid wolf/tiger shifter, to mate with Kane. Disliking forcing a mating on a woman, Jace Monroe, the Silverlake Alpha, negotiates a thirty day trial period.

That night, Jesse Travis, the Silverlake negotiator, takes a walk by the pool and the sun goddess he'd seen earlier in the day emerges from the darkness. He doesn't know her name and she won't tell him, but his attraction to her overrides caution. Imagine his surprise the next morning when she and a mountain of suitcases arrive for the trip back to Silverlake and a contracted mating to his packmate. The one who just challenged him for her when they get back home. That fight is put on hold, however, when Jesse and Sophia are ambushed and tranq'd. When they come to, they are in a cell, Alexander Grant is in charge, and they think he's Kane.

As much as I avoid books that include hunters, captivity, labs and torture, this one snuck up on me. If I weren't already invested in the series, I would have passed. I'm glad I didn't, though, because Jesse and Sophia are incredible together, fighting against seemingly insurmountable odds, and continually building each other up. They are both so much more than they believe themselves to be. I'm really looking forward to the KU Library follow-up Silverlake enforcers books next.

I’m happy to say after two lacklustre previous books in the series this one was much better!

This book had a great mix of spice & didn’t sacrifice the story writing!

This book was about Jessie the negotiator of their little pack who is also very tech savvy.

The female belongs to a large southern pack by an unkind Alpha who would beat her and threaten her since she was 6 years old, because she’s special her father was a wolf so she can shift into a wolf but her mother was a tiger and when she’s scared she turns into a very powerful tiger!

She was given a mission by her alpha to help him takeover the smaller pack but her and Jessie were kidnapped by the armed gang we have come across before who work for the new alpha’s wife’s ex boyfriend that tried to kill them in book 1.

Apparently he’s into more than just stealing music and royalty’s from artists but he’s into human & shifter trafficking.

There’s an underground bunker and a big fight, and the shifter council comes and are informed about everything going on.

New mates, possibly a new alpha of the southern pack & new info on someone who might know the background story of the white wolf from book 2 who is missing her memories of the first 16 years of her life.

Jesse Travis is a negotiator for the Silverlake wolf pack. They are at the Nashville packs place trying to negotiate with them. The alpha makes a condition that the enforcer Kane must mate with his daughter Sophia. Sophia Jenkins has two animals inside her. One is a wolf and the other is a tiger. The tiger she has no control over and comes out when she’s frightened or scared. Sophia’s alpha Nash wants her to create discontent in Jesse’s pack so he can take it over. If Sophia doesn’t he’ll turn her in to the council and the will label her a rogue and put her down. Jesse and Sophia have a one night stand but Jesse doesn’t get her name. The next day he is told he’ll be driving Sophia back to their place while his alpha and the rest go to an emergency. Jesse is furious when he finds out who Sophia is. On their way, they are ambushed and taken captive. Sophia’s tiger comes out but they are hit with a tranquilizer and taken to a bunker. Will Jesse and Sophia escape before the Silverlake pack walks right into a trap?
I love all of Mrs. Wilde’s books. They are always sexy, a little funny, and a happily ever after. Some action. Jesse doesn’t think anyone would want him because he’s an omega. And Sophia believes she’s unwanted because of her tiger.

Loved this book, constant action and a great storyline.
Jesse is the calm Omega of the pack, the computer genius/nerd.
He uses his ability to calm and motivate emotions, feelings and energies. He is so much stronger than he believes he is.
During negotiations, Kane initiates a mating alliance with the Nashville pack but they do not know that they are being played.
Jesse meets Sophia and wants to pursue her before he knows she is the alliance female promised to Kane.
Sophia is the tiger/wolf shifter hybrid adopted daughter of the Nashville Alpha but has been used and abused her whole life and kept in line with a threat over her head.
She also feels an attraction to Jesse but has her orders to follow from Nash.
Fate takes a hand and they get captured by Grant which gives them time to know each other and bond.
Kane once again steps above his authority and pushes the boundary of his place in the pack. Cannot wait till he meets HIS fated mate, boy she had better be strong enough to beat his ass.
Once again the rotten human Grant makes a return but he is no better or worse than the Alpha shifter Nash, Sophia’s father. I was happy to have another baddie get his though.

I really enjoyed book three which focused on Jesse, the hot nerdy Wolf and Sophia, the Wolf/Tiger girl with secrets of her own.
I must admit I feel its quite unique to have the not so overly dominate Wolves be so high ranking in the pack family, while it does cause some insecurities for them it certainly makes them think outside the box to get the job done, and I like that I think.
Jesse I liked from the start and he certainly didn't disappoint and even surprised me a little with how dominate, but more so in the mad mind Jeti skills he had then physically, he was, it was great!
Sophia certainly had it rough growing up with suffering abuse from her adoptive Father and "alpha". So glad she was strong enough to break free from it.
I loved Jesse and Sophia together, they had great chemistry together and they were both able to see past the façade the other showed to the world.
Lot happening in this one over a short time frame with some things still not resolved and I'm confident that we will get answers in the following books.
Again great secondary characters who I look forward to reading about!

Love this book!

I really enjoyed reading this book, it's the third book in the 'Silverlake Shifter' series. This book has action packed scenes, great fighting, along with some smoking hot sexy scenes, and introduction to new characters for another series.
Jesse has always been described as an Omega of the pack in the previous books. So, I was very happy to read that he's more then meets the eye. But you'll have to read to see for your self to see what that is, no spoilers from me.
Sophia is the promised mate to the Silverlakes enforcer Kane. Poor thing, my opinion of Kane is that he has been nothing but a jack... well for better words, a "donkey". I so look forward to reading his story!
Like I said up above, the action and fight scenes are great, I felt the author did a wonderful job writing them as well as the romance. For a short story I learned a lot about these characters. I felt this book was easy to read, could it be read as a standalone? Probably, but I would recommend reading this series in order. I would also recommend this to family and friends!

Omega Jesse Travis, Silverlake’s negotiator is visiting the Nashville pack to warn the pack of Alexander Grant’s anti-shifter activities and contract temporary access so his crew can stop Grant. Nashville’s alpha would prefer a mating alliance between his stepdaughter, Sophia and Silverlake’s head enforcer, Kane to unite the packs and he is willing.

Emma and Sophia renew their acquaintance. Sophia’s stepfather is blackmailing her into the mating and Sophia’s terrified to disobey his orders and wreck his plan to gain a foothold in Silverlake’s territory. During a break in the talks, Jesse spots the daughters and is enchanted by one and they meet by chance overnight.

Things are awkwardly tense when Jesse, Sophia and Kane officially meet. Kane’s aware and angry about Sophia and Jesse’s interlude, plus Sophia’s guild-ridden she’s already doing her stepfather’s dirty work. Jesse gets to shine as he believes Silverlake has a second enemy instead of an ally. Also, there is a glimpse of Grant’s horrifying work.

Jesse, the negotiator for the Silverlake Shifters, is used to being in the background. Sure he's got mad computer skills and his ability to negotiate is little short of uncanny, but he's not strong - or so he thinks.
An anonymous one-night stand while dealing with the Nashville Shifters turns into a major problem when she (Sophie) turns out to be Kane's intended Mate. And Kane, as anyone who has followed the series so far, is not one to take the facts lightly.
As it turns out Kane is the least of Jesse's problems - both he and Sophie are kidnapped by Alexander Grant (last seen getting his face ripped open two books ago). Grant intends to auction Sophie off to the highest bidder because of her unique Shifter ability (it would be a spoiler to say more), and feed Jesse (or parts of him at least) into a meat grinder.
Will they escape to a HEA? Of course they will.
It took a little while to get going but "Tiger Mate" really cuts up a storm as it races explosively to the finish.
A fast and furious read.

a bit unexpected that the quiet one of the pack turned out to have such power!!!!

So this is where negotiator Jessie is doing his stuff for the pack including an arranged mating between kane and this packs alphas adopted daughter Sophia.

While there he meets this amazing 'goddess' as he calls her. has an amazing night.

Take a wild guess who she is......yup.

Kane is PISSED. But not for the reason you think.

So it's tense-ville between them until the end.

Sophia however feels the same about Jesse.
she is a mix of tiger and wolf.
And has been abused by the alpha to panic shift into the tiger to kill men he wanted to get rid of......and he wants to use her to infiltrate silver lake and take over the territory.....but she didn't expect Jesse.

I loved this one. how it showed not to judge books by it cover - with both Jesse and Sophia. That abusers will ALWAYS be outed- however long it takes.

This series is so damn unrated. I wish more people knew about this. Maybe, it's the people on the cover that may have deterred them away. But, all the books I have read from this author are some of the best shifters books I have read so far. They're also fast paced, short and kind of spicy...but, the plot and the characters are also good on top of that. It's also a fated mates romance so it really can't get better than this.

Sophia and Jesse were such a perfect match for each other. They worked as a team no matter what they faced. It was so wonderful to go through the journey. There are some dark themes in this book, wasn't too much for me but might be for some (There is captivity, torture, past trauma, violence. Some of the other characters go through more than the main characters here, but those characters have their own series after this called Bad blood shifters so just to remember that.)
This was good.

Try the audiobooks. They're great.

The blurb should come with a spoiler warning, because it gives so much of the book away.
I liked the MC in this one. Jesse is the negotiator for the Silverlake pack and as an Omega can influence the moods of those around him. It was really unique to have a shifter romance where the male doesn’t result to fighting and violence to resolve problems.
This was fairly enjoyable as a story, but Terin’s backstory still didn’t come into play. For the end of a trilogy, it starts a new conflict with a new character (that isn’t fully resolved) and adds a shifter council and it just feels lacking without the proper world building or detail put it. I can see there’s another Silverlake series, but I still think it should hold on its own without needed addendums. Just as a book and ignoring the wider world and overarching story, this was my favourite in the series.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I believe that Tiger Mate is the best of the Silverlake Shifter stories. Granted, we still have The Enforcers spin-off of Kane and Israel to go yet – but in my opinion it’s going to be difficult to top this story.

Because of the complexity of the story, things revealed and story lines that give some answers and leave more to be discovered – I find that I don’t want to go into many details about this one. Not that I couldn’t sit here and talk about Tiger Mate for hours, I easily could. Yet I believe this is one of those that you need to experience this story for yourself.

If you’ve followed the series so far, and you thought that Grant was despicable, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Full of fast paced action, desperate moments, sizzling sexy times and a love that will defy everything to find a way to flourish… this is Shifter Romance at it’s best, in my opinion. I loved Jesse and Sophia together, they have that feel of an established couple from almost the start, and you’ll easily become caught up in their story. Of course, we’ll run into familiar characters and another totally nasty villain.

I would recommend this story and this series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance reader. With a compelling plot, interesting characters and action that will keep you flipping pages, this is one you’ll want to check out.

I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Very Good!

Jesse, the Omega is a nerd at heart but can also be a alpha when need be & he had the need twice in this book. Sophia, adopted daughter to a very powerful & rich man/shifter (he also is one of the bad men in this story) gets a arranged mating to Kane (the stick up his a**) but that's not who she ends up with.

Jesse & Sophia get kidnapped by Alexander Grant (the original bad guy in this series) & then Jesse not only gets tortured by one of Grant's minions but in that same day helps not only Sophia & himself escape but all the other shifters that wee being held & tortured there too.

This story has lots of sex scenes, fight scenes some physical & 1 mental, fast-paced action & a good vs bad plot.

In fact, I've read nearly all of Anastasia Wilde's books, but randomly and I do really like to read connected series in order so I've started again from the first, Fugitive Mate. This is the third in the Sliverlake pack series, where Jessie Travis, the negotiator extraordinaire and computer buff rescues his fated mate from her cruel, controlling father. What I like is that all the men, whilst looking perfect and strong and being good and courageous to the core, they're all damaged or broken in some way, which makes them endearing. Until they meet their fated mate, which, when the story is complete, makes them both whole and healed. The romantic in me loves that. However, it isn't just fluff, all the characters have a depth to them, and a history that makes me want to read their stories. They each have their challenges to face, which I find engaging. This is the first book in which we meet the evil psychotic criminals that are the cause of the physical and mental damage most of the characters across the series have suffered. Jessie and his mate are captured by them and realise, with horror how many other people/animal shifters are being tortured. I particularly love the way the characters in all the different series are interconnected, and join with each other in certain stories. That really makes all the books one whole series and the groups of books, sub series. I have enjoyed each and every one so far.
The graphic sex gets somewhat repetitive. I am by no means a prude, but after the first love making you get the picture. I have skipped a page or two in most of the books, to get on with the story. Don't let that put you off though!

Even nerds can be the strongest sometimes.

Wolf shifter Jesse, the pack nerd negotiator, finds himself head-over-heals for one of Nashville pack's mysterious "daughters". Only he finds out that his "one" is the daughter he's negotiating a marriage contract for with his pack enforcer Kane. Long story, short- he and wolf/tiger shifter Sophia, end up kidnapped, tortured, and have to fight their way to freedom. This is another HFN story in this series, but was engaging and I recommend this book and series.

This author doesn't give you a lot of details so you're left with a lot of wishful questions about their futures, before you jump to the next story. These definitely need to be read in order to be enjoyed. Happy reading.

I really enjoyed this book (and this series)! Jesse's lack of alpha-male characterization made this more complex than the first two books in the series, and I liked his character development far more. Having him feel lower than he really was made for an interesting shift in status, whether it was just his perception of it or the climactic scene later when it really did change.

*Spoilers*
The idea of the tiger shifter who was also a wolf shifter was new to me and played an interesting role in the plot. It made it much more likely she'd do as she was told rather than trying to escape with Jesse first thing, which was what I was expecting.

Wow! Another great story, loved it! The characters are awesome, entertaining, exciting, and the good guys are heroes! However we have two sets of evil villains, one human and one shifter! The human captures, tortures, and sells his victims, and the shifter tortures and trades his daughters and pack mates, to make him richer! Hard to tell which one is the monster here! Will they be able to escape after being captured, beaten, and abused? Is it to late to save each other? Will they get a chance to find happiness?

Abuse comes in many forms, but I personally believe that emotional and mental abuse is worse than physical abuse, mostly because there are no immediately obvious effects of those kinds of abuse. Our heroine, the apparently pampered and spoiled princess, has been so abused from a young age that she should have been unable to even dream of standing up for herself, let alone defend others. I applaud the author matching this feisty little kitty with our hero, a wolf whose heart and bite is greater than his expressed bark - introverts are not wimps and thank you for making that clear!

Jesse & Sophie: triggers- torture. I liked this book a little more than the previous book. Here, the Silver lake pack is in talks with the Nashville pack to make a pact. They end up asking for a mate bond as part of negotiations. The first time Jesse sees Sophie, he knows, she's his mate. But she's promised to Kane, his pack's enforcer and Sophie is also withholding a big secret. One he finds out when they end up captured by the packs biggest rival. This book has my interested the entire time. Jesse and Sophie were extremely sweet and hot. We also get a little piece of Kane's puzzle.

We know that certain behaviors can be taught by using reward and punishment, but this book shows a man of greed, using such techniques to his own gains.
On the other side, we have a young man, who has honed his own natural Alpha tendencies, to "see" the feelings of others, and use this sight to calm situations.
In the end it's a battle of wills..
The book is way more than my cryptic synapses, and worth reading!

Best book in the series so far. Heroine was much stronger in this book although hero turns out to be very strong too. The fact that they helped each other to reach their best was really cool.
The story development was good too. We get to see a bit more of Terin’s mastery past (although it’s just a glimpse), we also see how each of the Silverlake pack members are important on their own way and have their specific skill sets that makes the whole pack stronger.

By far this is the the best yet of the series! I loved Jesse and Sophia. It has more suspense than the 2 previous and still maintains a strong romance. This installment really builds on the over-arching series story and answers some lingering questions from the previous 2. It is a must read if you started this series and if you haven't, what are you waiting for? Jump on this series ASAP.
