RYAN

She was perfect:
Sweet, smart, awkwardly adorable, and beautiful as hell.
The only problem was:
she was terrified to leave her apartment.
And, apparently, she had somehow gotten herself wrapped up with some pretty bad guys to boot.

DUSTY

He was perfect:
He was a living, breathing, walking, talking statue come to life.
But when would a man like that ever want to be with a woman who was too anxious to even walk into the hallway? Let alone go on a date with him. Or meet the family he was so close with.
That being said, he seemed interested for some reason.
So obviously, he was just as crazy as I was.
On top of that whole confusion situation, something was going on with my business partners. And things were about to go straight to hell…

This book right here is why Jessica Gadziala is one of my favorite authors. I loved every moment of reading this and Ryan and Dusty were fantastic characters. Dusty had a lot of issues she was dealing with and getting to see Ryan be so understanding about them and helpful in literally the best ways was swoon worthy.

As someone who has dealt and still deals with anxiety, reading a book where a character has similar problems is a little nerve wracking. It's something that gets mishandled by authors a lot because it's not easy to understand unless you've ever dealt with it. But Ms. Gadziala perfectly portrayed those struggles within Dusty's characters. Then to make it all better she gave us Ryan *dreamy sigh* who was the perfect man for Dusty. He never tried to force her to be "okay" and instead let her go at the pace she needed to.

Through all of the heart melting moments there was also a little suspense and mystery thrown in that was really intriguing. It was great how there was so much going on in this one book but it never got to be too much or made me lose my focus.

We also get some scenes with the Mallick family that have me way more excited for future books in this series. I love how so many side characters are featured in these books that have me on the edge of my seat, waiting for more of the series. This book could be read as a standalone if you wanted but I would definitely recommend reading the previous book since it's just as amazing as this one was.

Title: ➳ ❤Ryan
Series ➳Mallick Brothers 2#
Author: ➳ Jessica Gadziala
Published February 2nd 2017

ღ Holy smokes you really see the Mallick man support each other when it comes to the safety of their women

♥●• Ryan, the workaholic of the family, was perfection. Patient, understanding, protective & he also a enforcer
Ryan & his neighbor are the only apartments on the top floor of his building & believe or not he has never seen her..

► Dusty Rose McRae had OCD issues if that weren’t bad enough she also had Anxiety and agoraphobia issues

Hasn’t stepped food outside in more than 2 years, well that is until Ryan walked into her life

💞. Once I started the book i couldn't put it down. It’s really hard to put down one of Jessica Gadziala books & not read it cover to cover!

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book,

I really thought that I was reading mystery romance, so with that said you’ll understand my score

Happy Reading --- Enjoy ……. Paulette Review

While I enjoyed this story, it wasn't as strong as others by the author. Dusty suffers from agoraphobia and Ryan has managed to sense her across the hall and is curious about the shut in. When she lands herself in trouble, the sexy enforcer is there to help.

The plot takes an interesting approach to mental illness. I liked the differences from how I'd seen it portrayed in other books up until that point. Ryan is patient with Dusty and understanding but he pushes her comfort level to get her to move forward.

The pair was hot together though I don't think the pace or circumstances allowed for them to get to truly know one another on a deeper level.

The imagery, especially when centered around action, was done well. The prose and pacing made for strong writing. Safety: No others for either of them. No rape. Definite yes to abuse.

I absolutely fell in love with Ryan! He was such a sweetheart, and how he dealt with his heroine; who suffered from agoraphobia and anxiety, was so heartwarming. This book touched me, and hit very close to home with me as I have been battling severe anxiety this past year. I could relate so much to what Dusty was going through, and it also gave me some insight on how she dealt with her affliction.

Another thing that I love about this series is how the Mallick family are so loyal to one another. I love how they are always there for one another--no questions asked! I really hope that Jessica will continue on with this series as we still have two brothers to hopefully fall in love!!!
I will definitely be waiting...
Hopefully I can do a much better review when I have some more time. It seems like my time is way too limited lately....

"4 Ryan stars"

"Ryan" is the second book in the "Mallick Brothers" series which means there are 5 hot and rough brothers finding their ONE! Shane and Ryan are out 3 more to go... I love these dark hair-blue eyes rough and sexy brothers walking around in Navesink Bank! Can't wait to get more of them...

description

I enjoyed this book a lot! Ryan was amazing and so understanding and patient with Dusty! She had her issues and never once felt with Ryan that even when she failed he would judge her. That was the best part for me, having someone beside you giving you courage to overcome your issues without pressuring you to do as fast as possible, but when you're ready.

And I was going to try like hell to prove to her that I could be that for her, that I would always be a safe place to land, that I could take her hand and lead her out and show her that those mother fucking wolves cowered down before me and they could never hurt her again.

This book was sweet with some hot moments. There wasn't too much drama and I liked that it focused more in the couple and their family. Ryan and Dusty were great together and so accepting about what was going on in their lives from important stuff to silly ones. They just clicked together in the most beautiful way!

And, well, when a hot as all sin man went down on you, screwed you blind, deaf, and dumb, and then demanded you cuddle up with him, you cuddle up with him.

Now Mallick Brothers are all masculine and hot tempered and ready for some action, in the streets and between the sheets as well. I love their family bond and how different they are as individuals! Just looking at them you feel lightheaded... mesmerized and wet....???

Jessica this book was pretty good and I enjoyed it! That's why I'm stalking you girl to see what's next! One question though are Hunt and Fee going to have their own book? Because we kind of know their story from "Shane" and "Ryan" but I would love to be in their minds too...

Enjoy! xxx

This family just keep getting better.

I 've been dyin for this book for ages. I luv The Mallicks brothers there so hot and amazing. Once these men fine that woman that they want they go for it. Nothing will get in there way and once Ryan got a look at Dusty that was it he needed to get to know this woman that never left her apartment ever.

Dusty is agoraphobic she hadnt left her apartment in 3 years. This still doesnt stop her from noticing things and she had noticed her neighbour Ryan a while ago. There was so much she wanted to know about him she found him very handsome but she could never do anything about it she could leave her apartment to see him or even talk to him until he helped her out. This was where things got good for Dusty. Ryan wanting to spend time with her was a good thing even if it did make her feel things she wasn't sure she could feel.

Ryan is brilliant he doesn't have much of a life he works 24/7. He needs to get a life outside of work and family. When he gets a look at Dusty she is the woman that's going to give him that even if there is a few issues that could get in there way.

I enjoyed this book like I said I really like this family. I luv how close they are. I really liked how much Ryan wanted to help Dusty. His instant attraction to her was cute and her to his as well. It kills me to say I did find the story a little bit slow in parts but there was still a lot of great parts where there were a few characters that I want to know of. Overall I enjoy Ryan and Dusty and there story and looking forward to more of The Mallicks.

4.5 Progress stars!

Ryan's story was a bit sweeter than I expected and I loved it! From his meet-cute with Dusty, to his determination to be in her life, to her willingness to progress, I was a real sucker for this book.

It was great to see so many sides to Ryan. All I knew before was that he was the steady, stoic brother, the one who handled the books, managed the businesses, and was the least likely to have blood on his hands. To find that he was so much more than the sum of his parts made him even more amazing to me. What made me really love this book was the fact that I really liked Dusty. Loving both main characters made this such an easy read!

There's a part where Ryan breaks down the family business and I think it was perfect for those who need to know what's what.
I handled more of the business-end of things. I did the fucking paperwork and kept the books and paid that first 'you owe us, pay up, or else' visits to clients. From there, I would send Mark. If Mark wasn't effective, then Shane stepped up. And, if after Shane was done with you and you still didn't find the money to pay off your debts, then we would sic Eli on your poor ass.

Dusty suffered from anxiety and agoraphobia and I feel that the author handled her struggles with tremendous sensitivity. It was shown in a way that anyone would be able to sympathize and/or empathize with her. It was beautifully done.

Anxiety wasn't rational. I barely understood it myself and it was impossible to explain to others. I had heard it all over the years. You're so obsessed with your mental illness. Maybe because it impacts every single part of my life. It's all in your head. I know, right? It's sort-of like it's a mental illness. Why do you let it stop you from doing everyday, normal things? Hmm, maybe because a mental illness is an actual illness.

When Dusty finds herself in serious trouble, Ryan does what it seems like every Mallick man ends up doing - putting everything on the line to ensure his woman's safety. He didn't have to get his hands dirty like Shane did, and we got the chance to see some other characters from other books (looking at Lo and JStorm), giving this story the suspense I've come to expect from the series. And that epilogue??? Magnifique!! Does Bry end up getting his own book? He was a sweetheart and despite the mess of his life, he was an incredible friend. I'm still very ready for Eli's book, but I'm off to really meet Mark, the ladies' man.

I absolutely loved Ryan and his unending patience that he had with Daisy as she tried to overcome her demons. And Daisy was as sweet as they come and deserved a man willing to battle with her. These Mallick brothers are yummy! No OW/OM drama at all.

- I adored Ryan.
-- I loved Dusty.
-- I want to know more about Ross.
-- I felt terrible for Bry, he needs his own HEA.
-- Still loving all the brothers and the entire Mallick clan.
-- Could have done without the ad nauseam mentions of Mark being a slut. I get it already; he is a player. You don't need to beat me over the head with this info. Especially since his book is next.
-- This was my favorite book so far.
-- On to book three I go.

Anyone who knows me, knows I hate perfect, fluffy bunny, angstless novels. But every time Ms G. offers up a new couple...I'm so on board.

SG Ladies, this book is why you should be reading this author. Seriously. If you aren't already reading her books you're missing a sure "safe" bet.She even has a trigger page: http://www.jessicagadziala.com/trigge...

I started this very ambivalent about the whole thing. Sometimes I'm afraid to start one of her novels fearing that THIS one will be the one that makes me fallout of love with this author...I never do. And I always kick myself when I wait to read one...like I did here.

I really LOVED the H. And I had ZERO interest in his story. Like, big 'ole double-aught interest. But then I started reading...

He. Is. Perfect.

Did you read that SG Ladies???

Fucking. Perfect.

Unicorn perfect.....

Seriously.

Not a manwhore. Check.
Alpha (not asshole). Check.
Dangerous. Check.
Sexilicious. Check.
Wears a suit. Check

And I even liked the h. She had depth, wasn't TSTL, great (believable) issues, funny...yeah, definitely worthy of the H.

And you Epi-hos...there are several epilogues. You'll be pleased ;)

so daramatic for no damn reason. the whole thing with the drug dealers served no purpose. the fmc is agoraphobic but somehow was able to battle her fears because of the hero. you know, because ✨it’s him✨ would’ve loved reading about the heroine ACTUALLY working to get better for HER instead of all this bullshit about drug wars. also couldn’t get over the fmc’s name being ✨dusty rose sunshine mcrae✨ it’s giving 2013 one direction tumblr AUs

She was the mysterious girl across the hall. She never left her apartment and she had convinced the postman to deliver her copious packages right to her door. Even Ryan, the Mallick family enforcer, successful businessman, couldn’t convince the guy to do that. Who was this beautiful woman held prisoner by her own fears?

He was everything a woman could dream of. He even starred in some of Dusty’s fantasies, but the chances of them ever meeting were slim and none, because that would require leaving her sanctuary. Besides what would Ryan Mallick want with a damaged damsel in distress? Dusty’s world was her apartment, to go out would bring on panic attacks that were crippling.

All it took was one group of thugs beating her to a pulp to cause Ryan to go all alpha protective as Ryan jumps to her defense, fists pounding. Why were they there? A known drug dealer has been seen at her door, but how could this shy woman be involved in anything illegal?
Little did Ryan Mallick know, caring for Dusty would become an act of more than valor, it would be a deadly game of life or death that will entangle the darker forces that lurk in this small New Jersey town. Ryan will do anything to keep Dusty safe and to help her regain the life that agoraphobia took away, because no matter what, that’s what a real man does.

RYAN by Jessica Gadziala once again, brings the softer side of a deadly man to life and once again, it takes a feisty woman with some dings and dents to do it. Ryan may be one of Jessica’s hottest alphas ever. No knuckles dragging here, Ryan comes equipped with brains, looks, loyalty and, to be honest, some searingly hot moves behind closed doors, or against a wall, even. His tenderness toward Dusty is swoon-worthy and his fierceness in protecting her is deadly. Dusty has some spirit, it is just hidden behind the terror she lives with on a daily basis. Kick in some well-placed bets and humor and Jessica Gadziala has another runaway hit on her hands! Keep some ice water handy and do not stray too far from the fainting couch!

I received an ARC edition from Jessica Gadziala in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second book in the Mallick Brothers series, and this time it’s, drumroll please, Ryan’s turn! (If you couldn’t tell by the title LOL)
Just like the first in the series, this one is romantic and suspenseful. There’s lots more worldbuilding of the town of Navesink Bank, and I’m really looking forward to checking out the other books set here (I’ve had my eye on the Henchmen series for a while, but I don’t want to confuse myself, so I’ll finish this series first).
Once again, the heroine steals the show. Dusty is agoraphobic and sweet. She’s also Ryan’s next door neighbour, and she’s gotten herself caught up in something criminal…

Beware of Spoilers!

Star Ratings:
Heroine (Dusty): 1/5
Hero (Ryan): 3/5
Plot: 2/5
Grovel: none
Cheating: none
HEA: yes
Triggers: h is beaten up (not by H), drug dealing

Average score: 2/5

Best Line: none that stood out to me

Worst Line: a lot of lines

Personal Review:
A disappointing romance between a protective hero and a woman who should have NOT BEEN A DRUG DEALER!! The heroine was perfect for me until I found out what she did for a living

Random Ramblings
•I liked that he wasn’t such a big manwhore like his brothers
•I find it hard to believe that a recluse who is petrified of EVERYTHING would open her front door WITHOUT CHECKING THE PEEPHOLE???

•I was disappointed in the h for being part of drug dealing
•I have to admit that I started skipping pages since finding out she was a drug dealer – drugs are a hard No for me in romances
•I love to read about people overcoming difficulties whether its finances, mental health or family stuff but I hate when people uses drugs/alcohol/money as way to overcome these

Overall Feeling:

What’s with Jessica Gadziala’s heroes calling the heroines baby, babe, honey right off the bat? Makes me wanna say, “she has a name, dude… maybe you can start calling her babe on your 2nd date?” 🙄

Also me — “oh my gosh he calls her babyyyy!!” 😍🥰
…instantly remembers Dex calling Iris BABE. ❤️❤️❤️

This is my 3rd book by this author and I’m already seeing a pattern and a predictable theme/plot in her books that makes me want to skim through the pages….

〰also, I don’t think I can take any more of the fast-paced romance [read: development of a relationship just after (approx) four meetings to full-on serious relationship with the h moving in with the H, all within a span of two weeks give or take, I’m not kidding] as well as too much internal monologues or all the “telling” of the plot without the actual exchange of dialogue among the characters. I really crave for lengthy talks for the sake of depth. 😑

So instead of moving on to more of Ms. Gadziala’s books in the Navesink Bank Universe and risk developing a reading slump, I’ll take a pause right here and “experience” other books in the mean time.💋

À bientôt! 👋

3.75 "Ryan" stars

Even though, Shane is still no.1 ALPHA in my book, his bro didn't disappoint. The quit, sullen, enforcer Ryan Mallick gives a total different meaning to being a sweet caring yet badass alpha protector...when his eyes fall on a little, slender and shy blonde across the hall from his appartment, his own dry spell and "hold off" posture soon become melted away as the need to "know" this beautiful 'shut-in' tender woman...and he does, and she comes with issues-agoraphobia and anxiety attacks only set Ryan's protectivness into a higher gear...and when she becomes a part of danger wven though she unintentionally did things she was never capable off doing in the first place, Ryan will go the distance to keep her safe....

another action packed romance drama with a lovable alpha stud and a heroine who is a different kind of strong, under the meek, sweet and soft exterior, her heart and will match up the inner strength for her to fight her illness and take on the world next to her man.

Enjoyable, easy read...

Liked this one better than the previous book in this series.

Very likable hero. Not a manho. Despite him being a loan enforcer, he had good human qualities.

Sweet heroine, not a badass. She had anxiety and agarophobia. But she wasn't weak or/an annoying. I actually liked her.

Plausible drama.

Cute epilogue.

3.5 RATING- The first book I've read in a while I've actually been able to finish. The authors writing is very readable and she mostly gives me what I want: a sexy protective hero who falls hard for his lady. I also have a "thing" for heroines that have agoraphobia (don't judge) so enjoyed the story from that aspect - although it was a bit unrealistically dealt with IMO.

Overall an enjoyable story. I look forward to reading about more of these siblings.

A favorite author is always a joy to read with the fabulous stories they give us to escape with. It is even more special when they also give us a piece of themselves in a story. The heroine of this book suffers from anxiety and agoraphobia, something the author has dealt with herself. You can feel Dusty's fears and understand them with the way the author presents them.

This book give's us Ryan Mallick's story. He is the third of the five brother's stories we've gotten so far. Even though he is an enforcer for his father's loansharking business he also has legitimate business too and is pretty much all business. He is not really big on the party scene or having a different woman every night of the week. One thing he had been, is fascinated by his shut in neighbor. He has never spoken to her before but all that changes with a carbon monoxide scare and then with her getting beat up by some bad men that break into her apartment.

Dusty, as I mentioned earlier, was a unique woman who suffered from a couple forms of mental illness. There was no rhyme or reason for why they suddenly took over her life but she had done the best she could to live with them even though it was a lonely existence. She also found herself attracted to her neighbor but never found the courage to act on it until a set of circumstances forced her to and she was surprised that being around him calmed her anxieties.

I appreciated that the majority of the book was Ryan and Dusty getting to know each other and learning about Dusty's illness. Ryan was the perfect man for her as he was understanding and patient and never bothered by what she could or couldn't do. Towards the end we do get some action/suspense that involved some of my favorite characters from other her series which I freggin loved! As always looking forward to what's next from this author..

First of all, I adore the Mallicks, so for me, this is another amazing installment to the fantastic five (there are 5 gorgeous, complex Mallick brothers in total). The Mallicks are a close family who run a number of legitimate businesses in Navesink Bank, but who also are notorious loansharks. Ryan is a serious workaholic who takes care of most of the business side, like doing all of the paperwork and keeping the books. He is also the one who pays the first "pay up" visit to clients who use the Mallick's loansharking services. Occasionally, those visits entail violence, which account for the callouses and scars on his hands, those telltale signs that don't quite fit with the hot as sin, expensive, tailored suits he wears on a daily basis.

Ryan lives down the hall from a reclusive tenant who he had not laid eyes on since she moved in over a year prior. Her packages are delivered to her doorstep (unlike his, which are either left at the front reception desk or worse, back at the post office), but she never seems to actually step foot outside of her apartment. One day, though, Ryan returns a bit early from work to find a couple of dodgy guys knocking on her door. Noticing her uncomfortable body language as the two known drug dealers enter her place, Ryan catches his first glimpse of the elusive Dusty, and that one look is enough to pique his interest in a huge way. She's drop dead gorgeous, and he can't get her out of his mind. As it turns out, Dusty has acute agoraphobia and hasn't been able to leave her apartment in months. She tries daily to unlock her door and walk out, which invariably results in a panic attack and a hasty retreat to a soothing bath to calm herself down. When the carbon monoxide alarm in the building starts going off one night, Ryan rushes out of his place to find her hovering anxiously at her doorway. Realizing that she cannot physically make herself leave, even in the face of risk of death, Ryan hoists her over his shoulder and bundles them down the stairs to the safety of his car. Together they face down her phobia, but as it turns out, that's the least of her problems: Dusty's involvement with the dodgy guys lands her in serious hot water, and not of the soothing bath kind.

Jessica Gadziala weaves a great tale - it is full of action and excitement (both dangerous and romantic), and she describes in heart-thumping detail the way Dusty feels when faced with the challenge of having to leave her apartment, which has been her safe place for many months. The chemistry between Ryan and Dusty is immediate and feels true, plus the way the Mallick family interact (including two of the brothers' partners, Fee and Lea) is warm, touching and often totally hilarious.

Another huge winner!

Ryan Mallick is a business owner and enforcer for his loan shark father. He lives across the hall from Dusty McRae who is a YA PNR writer but suffers from anxiety and agoraphobia. Ryan sees Dusty for the first time when she opens the door to some shady guys. He is drawn to her but tries to put the brakes on his feelings because of her condition. A small accident will give him an opportunity he is not expecting and he not only gets the chance to help her but to get to know her and neither can stop the relationship that develops. Only problem is that she is in more danger than she knows and she will need all the help she can get.

Okay, I really think for me that while I really liked the couple I had some issues too. I loved Dusty since she was sweet and I can relate to the anxiety issues since I have it too. I loved Ryan who was alpha and sweet and hot. I liked how they met and how they started talking.

The problems for me were the side characters which for me is usual. The brothers and mother were a little much for me. They were very close which is cool but some of that banter was much for me. Lea was ok but Fee annoyed the shit out of me. She was really pushy, nosy, and came on way to strong to me. I also didn't like how they were all like you can watch me kids when you get settled. WTF!! Her and Dusty just met and she is all babysitting and getting in her business and the pushing condoms thing was super annoying to me. Not to mention I would have preferred less of her overall because it was not only unnecessary to me but also it was the pushing an old heroine into the new book thing and I wasn't interested in her and because I didn't like her it took away for me. I also really don't like the whole male bff that has been in love with the heroine but he said nothing and she didn't know. I hate it because it is just sad. I read another book that way and again I felt for the guy.

This is the second book I have tried by this author and both times it was one of those start so good and loving it then taking a turn where I stopped feeling it. I think it is me because I am picky though. I just don't like the uber pushy way too nosy kinda thing because I am not always big on banter and snark. But it is still a good read and I think others may enjoy it more than I did.

Jessica Gadziala has done it again! This series is shaping up to be one of her best. The Mallick men are just too swoon worthy for their own good, or the good of the women of Navesink Bank. The depth of character and plot development will have you fist pumping and slack jawed in awe. JG really put her all into Dusty. A beautiful young woman struggling with not only a crippling mental illness, but an unsavory drug dealing gang. Her journey of pain and progress touched my heart, and gave me a new appreciation for those whose lives are plagued with agoraphobia.

Ryan, the workaholic of the family, was perfection. Patient, understanding, and protective, it’s no wonder that he became Dusty’s “safe place” while her life was upended. Absolutely perfect for each other, it was heartwarming to follow their journey. There was also a lot more action than I saw coming, which just added to an already compelling plot. One of the best at writing an extremely steamy sex scene, this book had all the elements to make for a great page turner.

We also got a lot more of the Mallick family, and a small dose of Lo and Jstorm from Hailstorm. I think we would all be so lucky to call such a crazy, loyal and hilarious bunch family. We are introduced to a few new characters (Bry, Ross Ward, Albert), all hot and have me salivating for their stories. None more than Ross, who runs the underground fighting ring. He had me very excited about a possible book for him (hint, hint).

And finally the epilogue, was of course amazing. I loved the realism of Dustys illness. Her not being magically cured (because that would be pure fantasy), but having the ups and downs someone in her situation would most likely have. Can’t wait to get to the rest of the Mallick men, though, a back in time book for Charlie and Helen would be awesome (another hint, hint. lol). The suspense over what’s happening with Eli is just killing me! Need more Eli!

Read this series! JUST READ IT! You’d have to have a heart of stone not to fall in love with the Mallick clan and the women they fall for.

HEA, duel POV, no cheating, no triggers.
