Five bestselling Western romance authors have created a world like no other - full of fun outside activities, a huge family in need of love, and side characters you will never forget. A world where our characters learn, laugh, and love.
Discover River's End Ranch, a gorgeous "destination ranch and resort" in Riston, Idaho, that is run by the six Weston siblings and their well-meaning, semi-retired parents.
Kaya Taylor lived a simple, quiet life. As a single romance writer, she spent most of her time alone, except for her online friends. Going on a writer’s retreat to some huge destination ranch in Idaho sounded like a dream come true. She would get to spend time with a couple of her closest friends, be in new surroundings, and maybe even learn to ride a horse. On her first night on the ranch, she saw Glen and knew her heart would always belong to him.
Glen Johnson had a plan. He was only a few months from getting his doctorate, and then he was going to turn his uncle’s old ranch he’d inherited into an equine therapy center for autistic children. He’d been working toward the goal for years, and nothing and no one would derail him from it. When he met Kaya, he felt an immediate connection, but he couldn’t let it change his plans.
Would Glen be able to make changes to the life plan he’d made for himself? Or would they both spend the rest of their lives aching for the love they lost?
Ranch’s Retreat gives us a little glimpse into a writer’s life – and a lovely “love at first sight” romance to make you believe again. When writer friends, May, Liz and Kaya meet up for a two week stay at the River’s End Ranch where Liz once worked and found her own love, no one was looking for love simply some time with friends and some serious writing. But love strikes when we least expect it, and certainly when we’re not looking.
Kaya knew as soon as the handsome cowboy stepped int Kelsey’s Cafe and set that gorgeous behind on a stool at the counter that he was “it” for her. She couldn’t tell you why she was so certain or how she was going to manage to grab this cowboy’s heart – but there really was no other option for her. Kaya may write about love at first sight, but she knew the symptoms when they struck her and that cowboy was her’s.
Glen has his life planned. He was about to finish up his doctorate, his own ranch was coming together and soon he’d launch the dream that he’d held onto through the years. He wasn’t looking for a woman to share his life with. Sure, five years or so down the line once the ranch was functional and smoothly running, but not now. Fate often has other plans for us, and when one lovely guest pulled him down for a kiss and declared that he was her love … well, he certainly wasn’t ready for that lightening bolt. Yet it didn’t take him long in Kaya’s company to realize the truth of her words. But he didn’t have time for love and romance, he had a plan and he was determined to stick with it… even if he had to watch his love walk away.
I enjoyed Ranch’s Retreat. Glen and Kaya make a loving couple even when the timing was wrong. Love wins in the end. Yet watching these two proud, caring people find their way to the solution was a very fun ride. I’d recommend this story and the entire series to any Romance reader. If you’re looking for good, solid romantic times, then you cannot beat the River’s End Ranch series.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
While I am not fond of Western Romances, I am enjoying the River's End Ranch series with the Weston siblings. As an avid reader I especially enjoyed this story, because Kaya Taylor is a romance writer. Romance writer meets intellect (Glen Johnson), who loves horses and want to help people. Delightful summer read. Enjoy the diversity of characters in this series. While there are no ranches in SW Michigan, this is a farming community. I also enjoy that even though this is a Western, there are no stereotypical cowboys. Well done.
Loved, loved, loved it. I've read nearly everything Kirsten Osbourne has written but I have to say this is my favorite. I truly couldn't put this book down until I finished it. The whole series has been great so far. Fixing to start the next. Oh and the pimento cheese and ham sandwhich is my favorite sandwhich and I've never known anyone other than my dad to eat it. I loved it was part of the story.
Cute and hilariously funny love at first sight Romance story. Three online women who have become good friends via a chat room. Story starts with two of them (both romance writers) flying out to River's End Ranch to meet the third women who neither have met before.
Kaya & Glen A cowboy on RER with his gaze firmly fixed on his goal of a PHD in equine therapy for autistic children has no time for women for at least 5 years. A big city romance writer, that doesn’t believe in love for herself, visits RER for 2 weeks and meets a cowboy with a plan for his life, leaves her heart in Idaho in the mountains and beauty of RER.
I couldn't read this story because every few pages there is a blank page so it's very annoying to try to read. I have been reading this series and I haven't had this problem . I am very disappointed. I hope they fix this so I can read it.
A good, clean, fun story. It is entertaining & people from the previous stories show up again. It's fun to see them married & happy. This story gives some hints at how authors think & work.
I know you're supposed to suspend belief when reading these short romances but this one was ridiculous. They met, were completely different, lived in separate states, and boom in love & ready to change their lives for each other after a few days together. Ugh...
Strange romance, to just see a person and decide they were your forever! Seemed childish, too fairytale like romance. Very flat ending—misses her so goes to get her! An abrupt ending, rush off to a different state. Glad I did not pay for this book!
I love a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. But I don’t know how I would have handled the bad timing. This was an example of true romance. I loved the story between Kaya and Glen. They were meant to be before they even knew one another.
I love.the continuation of characters from the different books. Enough foe the reader to know what they are doing. Romance book writer visits the River's End Ranch. She falls in love with a cowboy who works there. Sweet nice book.
Ranch's Retreat (River's End Ranch #6) by Kirsten Osbourne – Kaya and Glen may be victims of love at first sight but the practicalities of trying to blend two lives may require some fairy (aka eccentric matchmakers) intervention! Happy Reading!
She and her two friends get together for a writers retreat in Idaho. Mast and Kaya are from TX and Liz is from Idaho buts lives in CA now. They get to the ranch and Kaya finds love the first day. Its a wonderful story.
Life and romance continue at Rivers End Ranch. Do yourself a favor and read these in order so that you are properly introduced to all of the characters. In this installment, we meet Kaya and May, Liz's online writing partners. You get some insight in how some authors write. You also meet a cowboy who is more complex than he appears.
Liz nodded. “As long as you’re with the one you love, your life is special, and it doesn’t matter where you are.”
I didn't like this one, I hated the characters. Kaya is one I already knew from other books by Kirsten, and I didn't like her then, even less in this one. Is not that she is a bad person, she is even funny, but she is so tragic and dumb. I get her sense of romance and drama, since she is a writer, but she sets herself to be hurt. I would get it if she was fighting for their love, but she was just a martyr accepting her heartache without a fight. I don't like her attitude, and I hated Glen for being so inflexible and stupid. I wouldn't recommend this book to any woman that has self respect and expect others to have it too.
I'd liked this one because Kayla and Glen were up front from the get go and gone with the float till neither could think staight and Glen gone to Jaclyn, the fairies and the bunnies.
Sweet romance but no plot other than that. Some in this series have more story than others. It's hit or miss. Still a quick read for a nice change of pace.
