Sometimes you find family where you least expect it...
When bass guitarist Jace Warner receives an urgent message from his high school sweetheart to come home, the rocker drops what he's doing to get there. Finding out that his first love, the girl that stole his heart, is dying isn't the biggest shock he receives. The bad boy rocker has a child, and now, he's about to be her only living parent.
After bonding with Kadence, his 6-year-old daughter, Jace knows there's only one thing he wants to be--a father. But that's not going to be as easy as it seems. Social worker, Summer Stephens doesn't deem Jace's lifestyle fit for parenting. She believes the stereotypes about rockers--that their lives are all about sex, drugs, and rock & roll.
Now it's up to Jace to convince Summer that Kadence is right where she belongs--at home with him at CFD. He's facing a fierce battle trying to prove there's room in his life for music and the daughter he wants to share it all with.
Will Summer realize that home is where you make it, and if she looks close enough, she just might see a family for herself?

OMG my heart can't take any more. I knew I was going to fall apart but OMG Kadence has my heart, body and soul. Jace thought his life was complete til he got that 911 call that changed his life forever. Jace found out he had missed out his daughters life for 6 years now he can't see life without her, but how do you help a 6 year old survive without her mom, how do you answer the unknown? Jace not only loves having his daughter in his life but he wants another certain woman that blew him away for one weekend, Summer. Summer has never forgot her weekend with Jace but he's a rocker , she knows all to well about that life and she can't have no part in it but her heart wants wants what it wants. I loved this book so much I laughed, cry, yelled and blushed. loved everything about it.
Jace is such a sweet baby daddy, I loved him in this book.
The beginning of Kadence is so bittersweet, heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.
After 7 years Jace finds out he's a dad from a secret pregnancy and that his teen sweetheart and love of his life is dying and has hours left to live all in one breath.
Sydney left and didn’t tell Jace she was pregnant so Jace could persue his career, a selfless and selfish act in one.
Such a sad beginning to the story which brought a tear to my eye but it was a beautiful ending for Sydney.
As the plot progresses Kadence Jace's 6 year old little girl brings joy to the family, all the characters I love are present from previous books, Kadence is a beautiful addition to the already big and warm family of both bands and the Manzini's.
Summer is a social worker and is assigned to assess Jace with Kadence.
This isnt Summers first encounter with Jace. Summer was the one that got away the one Jace often thought of and the girl who never called, So Jace was surprised when she announced herself as the social worker.
I love all these characters and I love this series, Jace is such a great dad and it was a beautiful part of the plot to see Jace find Kadence and Summer.
******Spoilers******* I just really struggled with other parts of this story and I'm on the fence with a few things.
I thought Jace dismissed his love for Sydney to easily with his conversation with summer when she asks about his feelings for Sydney especially after he had previously said she was the air he breathed, his heartbeat, among other things? that's not teen love as he stated that is love and those comments saddened me after the love and warmth I witnessed at the beginning of the book. The talking dead people thing? the wierdness, taking you from the present in the lives of the characters to experiencing smells and talking to dead people? that's why I don't read paranormal I like to feel like I'm there with the characters but that makes me lose the plot and back off and also lose the closeness to the characters as a reader because I'm battling with said things.
In summary I do enjoy reading about the lives of all involved in The Rockstar series there's always shenanigans, teasing, hotness, humour and characters I adore and I will always look forward to the next book.

I really loved it when Jace would drop what he was doing to tend to his girl, "Jace is sitting in the recliner with a beer, watching football. It must be Sunday. I lost track. He looks over at me and immediately stands, walking toward me. “How are you feeling, darlin’?” Jace is quite the alpha male, “no, but I know you now and you’re mine, god damn it. I don’t want to think about other guys having touched you. It drives me effing crazy,” he admits." I really loved this book, Jace was a sweet protective man when it came to his girls Summer and Kadi.
“Jace has the power to shatter me. I know I’m going to fall completely in love with him. If I’m honest, I’m a little bit there already.”
Heat Rating:
5+ emotional roller coaster stars!! Grab your tissues, this is nothing like you’ve read from Anne before!
I finished this book the other day and it’s taken me a few days to get my review together, because I was left speechless after reading this book. I’ve read all the books in the series, but I can say this one is sooooo much different than the other books. Kadence is an emotional roller coaster from page one, it will rip your heart out and just when you think you can’t take anymore, Anne will sew it back up and put it back in your chest.
Jace, ugh, Jace…. I’ve kinda watched him from afar, never really knowing what to think of him. But after reading this, he’s moved to the top of my book boyfriend list, and that’s saying a lot considering he’s mixed in with Xander and Jesse! Jace is a strong man but his world comes crashing down when he finds out his high school sweetheart has their daughter and he never knew about it for six years and to top that all off… Sydney, his ex, is on her deathbed. So he does what any good man does, marries his high school sweetheart, only to have her take her last breath a few minutes later. Now a widow and a father all in the same day, Jace has to adjust to this.
Kadence is the most adorable little girl and you won’t be able to resist her charm and her adorable personality. She’s infectious, she will steal your heart, that’s what she does with everyone at CFD. Just as Jace is starting to adapt to being a dad, the past walks into his life and slaps him in the face. The past being Summer, the one night stand he never got off his mind. And quite frankly, Summer never forgot him either. But she has a strict rule… no dating Rock stars…. Easy rule to follow…. Ha… clearly she doesn’t know Jace!!!
I was lucky enough to beta read this book and I have to say that this has got to be one my absolute favorite books Anne’s written. As soon as I was done reading, I hugged my kindle. It takes a lot for me to cry while reading but this book had me ugly crying, it definitely takes you on a journey. You will feel so many things… sadness, hope, romance, lust… you name it, you’ll feel it. I fell in love with Jesse and lusted after Xander, just like all the other girls…. But I’m officially staking my claim on Jace!! He’s mine…. And p.s. Anne…. Great job…. Best book I’ve read this year!

WOW! I am not sure how to write this review; this is such a fabulous book. It has so much heart, there is so much pain and loss yet at the same time, there is so much hope and love that it fuels this story. Jace thought his life was complete until he received a frantic 911 call one day that changed it forever -- Jace found out he had young daughter he never knew about and that her mother, his childhood sweetheart is dying fast. This is just mind-blowing to Jace and he is reeling from all of it. But he does what he can to make his ex’s last days happy and he marries her yet she dies on their wedding day. Now a widow and a father to Kadence on the very same day, Jace has to run without training wheels. Summer is a social worker who has been assigned to Kadence and Jace’s case. She is supposed to see how Jace is with Kadence and make sure all is ok before he gets full custody. But what her bosses do not know is that Summer and Jace had a history together—Summer was the one night stand Jace never got off his mind. She was always there and when she showed up as his Social Worker ,assigned to make sure s Jace is suitable to raise Kadence, well all those feelings come back to the forefront. Jace just lost his 1st love and here is a woman that he has a past with. Summer is a beautiful woman who is also a fantastic social worker. She cares about her kids and she does work hard for them. She falls hard for little Kadence and she wants to make sure she gets placed in a happy home and when she finds out who her father is and what their past is together, she is leery but she tries to act professional but seriously she keeps remembering their past weekend stand and then whenever they are around each other, its sparks. Summer has a thing against rock stars—which is her hidden secret. There are secrets in her past to which Jace doesn’t know. She will have to overcome her problems with rock stars if she is going to be working with Jace in making sure Kadence is in the right place. Well, I was very much cheering Jace on and wanting them to get together-there were ups and there were downs in their path to love between Jace and Summer. The questions that had abound in this book were –would Kadence get to stay with her dad and will Summer give in and give Jace a chance? Oh this definitely is a tissue box kind of story and the passion, heat, steam, angst, anger, tears and then hope and joy make this one of my favorite Anne Mercier stories. I cannot wait to read more in Rockstar series.
My Rating: 4.9 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Kadence is the first book I have ever read of Anne Mercier and she is now added to my MUST read. Kadence is book 7 of the Rockstar series, you don't need to read the first 6 books to understand what's going on, as I clearly haven't since this is my first every book of Anne's but I will be going back and I will be reading books 1-6 and any other book in this series. I think you should read the first books as well. If this one is this good, I can only imagine how good the others are.
Ok back to Kadence. This is the story of Jace, Kadence and Summer, starts off with Jace discovering he has a daughter that his high school Love had and never told him, yeah typical story right, nope wrong. This book is so far away from the typical love story. You will need to have a box of tissues ready when you start reading. Jace meets his daughter Kadence (Kadi)for the first time that he learns Sydney his high school and first love is dying. He meet her the same day his first love dies. Don't worry though this story goes on and is one heck of a great read and turns into a very happy love story. Jace meets Summer who is assigned as the Social Worker to make sure Jace is suitable to raise Kadence. What a surprise for Jace, he knows Summer and so the book begins another great love story with a happy ending.
This book was one I couldn't put down until the last page and I still didn't want it to end. Not only do we get Jace, Summer and Kadi but we get a glance at the rest of the group from the Rockstar series, without reading the other books I saw great characters and the writing just flows and you actually feel like you are right in the middle of the book. Anne Mercier you have found another fan for life, I loved every page of Kadence's story and I look forward to more about this great group of unlikely friends that turn into a giant family. Sometimes water is thicker then blood and you have definitely showed that in Kadence and in the Rockstar series. Thank you so much for a great book that takes you from tears to smiles.
I highly recommend this book, I hope you go and buy and enjoy it as much as I did. This book is added to my re read list and Anne is most definitely a one click for me going forward.

Jace's story was, in my opinion, the most emotional in this series so far. Several POVs provide a roller coaster of emotions that had me on the verge of a snot fest so early on.
Jace is not new to love. He found it at a young age, but Sydney made the sacrifice to let him live his dream. Years later they are reunited under the most emotionally difficult circumstance and from there, this book took over my emotions and kept me captivated until the end.
In Kadence we're given several POVs from key characters of the story and meet one of the cutest kids on paper. The band is as close as ever while they make music together and live as one big family. They grow stronger as they support one another through whatever comes their way and it definitely came in handy when Jace returns as a single father. They surround young Kadence with love and fun they all band together to help her and Jace through an amazingly difficult time.
This has become my favorite for the Rockstar series and I can't wait for more.
Telegrams... I didn't even know they send these anymore!! One telegram is all it takes to change the life of Jase Warner... A telegram asking him to come home as soon as he gets the telegram from his high school sweetheart.. The only woman he has ever loved and will always love.. When Jase entered the hospital room he knows his life is about to change he's just not sure how. Sydney is laying in this hospital bed looking very frail and Jase has no idea what's been going on because he never got the information that Syd was trying to send him for months... MONTHS and MONTHS were taken from him because of his parents....What Jase doesn't know if the YEARS have really been taken from him without him knowing.....Sydney has no idea how Jase is going to react to the next bomb she is about to drop on his lap literally drop on his because she knows she doesn't have much time left.. Time....Time is something you can never get back... Something so many people take for granted is TIME, once it's gone it's gone....Can Jase move on with his life when one day is full of so many punches and soooo much information he didn't know before????
Again great book to add and continue the series. Your heart strings are pulled as of the first chapter. Jace finding out about a daughter he never knew about, losing his first love to cancer, heartbreaking. Kadi is adorable and because of his newfound fatherhood, it brings in social worker Summer Stephens who also happens to be his weekend hookup that he never forgot, he felt a connection to her from the second he laid eyes on her and she ran. She wants to stay away from bad boy rockers and she has her reasons but she soon sees that Jace and the gang are not your typical rockers. The gang is all present and backing and supporting Jace and encourage him not to make Summer get away this time. They can't deny their attraction and her bond with Kadi is another reason why he loves Summer. I sometimes have a hard time with the spirits showing up and blowing in the air letting their loved ones know they are present, but I understand it's to make the point that even though a loved one is gone they are still very there in your life, gone but not forgotten.
Wow...talk about getting gutted right off the bat. I think the whole first 50 pages I read with tears running down my face. I found my feelings running the gauntlet, from pissed off, to glad that Jace made it, to stunned, to so much sorrow.
Jace did a great job with suddenly being thrust into fatherhood and losing his first love. I think having all the family around helped out. When he needed a hand they were there to help him out with whatever he needed.
I wasn't really sure about the romance with Summer. It seemed a little too soon, even though Jace hadn't been around Sydney for 6 years. But they worked. Summer was someone who could understand his life. I loved that even though Summer had a history with Jace she wanted to do what was right for Kadence.
And Kadence, how could you not love that little girl! Even when her meltdown came all you wanted to do was hug and comfort her.
The ending was perfect, loved all the letters to Sydney.
This book is absolutely amazing. It tears your heart out. It makes you laugh and smile. I highly recommend this book. I honestly think it's the best one yet even though it crushes your heart in a vice. Definitely need kleenex for this one. Anne has outdone herself in this amazingly heart wrenching story. I offically have a new love for Jace. Also Kadence just melts your heart and you instantly fall in love with her. Summer is one amazing woman who is perfect for Jace and everyone else in every way. Loved this book. Thank you Anne for writing this amazing series.
What a heartfelt read this one was....little Kadi is adorable ...just want to squeeze her and hug her tight ..too cute....Summer and Jace have great chemistry together ...
~~Now, she can't avoid me. I smirk again. Summer Stephens, let the games begin.~~
Good writing and story ...another captivating adventure with this big one of a kind family ...can't wait for more..Recommend Read!!!
I received Kadence as an ARC in return for a honest review.
Kadence is the 7th book in Anne's Rockstar Series and it is definitely a different pace than the others. At the end of Lullabye, Jace's story was hinted at and we were left wondering what was going on. Kadence picks up with Jace returning home after receiving a message to come home from his high school sweetheart, Sydney.
Kadence centers around Jace, his daughter Kadence, and Summer. Summer is a very strong and amazing person who loves these two people with everything she is. Their dynamic is special and this book also shows new sides to some of the other Rockstars that haven't gotten a lot of page time. The multiple POVs in this book really flow and allow you to feel everything from all angles. There are still super funny antics... seriously people we are talking Xan the Man and he just wants Kadence to smile! Then you get the heart melting, ovaries exploding, swooning when Cage, Kennedy and Ethan instantly take to Kadence and how she responds to them! *fans self*
The change of pace with Jace's story was refreshing and emotional at times. From the beginning scenes, I had tears rolling down my cheeks. Anne's way of capturing how these scenes should emotionally play out was so spot on. I can honestly say that my heart broke for Sydney, Jace, and Kadence! Saying goodbye to your mom is hard, even when your 20, let alone 6 and not fully understanding. There were these sweet tender moments throughout the book that once again had my smiling through tears. I can't get over how well the emotions were written into words. They were nothing short of perfect! All the while we still got the crazy antics and bits of drama and of course the romance, that balanced this story to no end. I could go on forever about this book but I will leave off with this.
If you want your typical Rockstar book... look elsewhere because Anne Mercier doesn't do typical! Her Rockstars are complex and in being so, their stories are that much more. Kadence is bringing a whole new level to this series and while it isn't the typical romance book packed with sex... it is perfect and beautiful and yet still holds the romance story between Jace and Summer with ease.
I can't wait to see what is next for our Rockstars! Whatever it is... it will be a BFD!
Tender embrace between two young adults. Synopsis sounds very interesting. > > Looking Deeper < < Multiple First-Person POVs. Very unique, to me. This is the first book I've ever read by Anne Mercier and must admit, I'm floored. I do not know if it's her normal style, but KADENCE is written from the perspectives of not only her lead couple, but also Kadence and Sydney. It starts out with a gut-wrenching, heart-breaking scenario and continues to twist and break your heart for another 20 - 30% before finally allowing you to breathe a little easier and hope slowly seeps it's way into the darkness that evaded. Jace was an outstanding, break-the-mold rockstar character. I really enjoyed his persona. Summer was strong and independent. Smart and sweet. Their chemistry was electric and molten. I thought it was a little barbaric and domineering of Jace to just push his way into Summer's life and basically demand that they would be a couple from there forward after only sharing a weekend together many, many months ago. But seemed to work for them pretty well. The plot had some ups and downs and flowed incredibly smooth. There were not really any conflicts for the couple to have to face to BE a couple, it was more minor obstacles in general life that needed to be dealt with - which they were.Predictability was very low. The conclusion was solid and satisfying. While this is the seventh book of the series and it is strongly advised that the series be read in order to maximize the knowledge and benefit of the secondary cast, in all honesty, Kadence can be read as a standalone without getting lost. The secondary cast IS big, and one would certainly benefit from having read the previous stories to learn who all these people are, but it was not crucial to the plot to know their back stories. . Epically Beautiful This book is part of the Rockstar Series, a series that is amazing in itself. However, this book is different, in a few ways, and the author points that out in an authors note at the beginning. I don't even know how to express or put into words, how to describe this book! If you've read this rock out author, Anne Mercier, before, then you know how hard it is! Warning...tissues, that's mentioned too! Yes, lots of them! This book is about Jace Warner, the bass guitarist for Blush. We met him in the beginning, first book, and he's always been there, but he's always just been there. Not this time! This book is all Jace & I love him! I have love for all of the main characters (the one's on our side), in different ways and that includes the females! I never thought of Jace really, though, and I don't know why, other than maybe he was overshadowed to me. I love this man! Be prepared for a book hangover! Jace Warner finds out he has a daughter, Kadence Jacey Warner, with his high school sweetheart, Sydney Julius. One of the many problems, was she moved away & by the time she tells him (part because he's now in a band) she's dying. The one & only woman he's ever let into his heart, gets her one wish, and in a way, he does too, before she goes "with the angels." Now he has a 6yr old daughter and no clue what to do. His heart shattered with losing her again, yet being glued together by Kadi. Of course, everyone helps Jace & loves his daughter. Kadi's nickname's for everyone were adorable and so were the one's that they had for her. As Jace and his daughter, begin to know each other, him more so, since Sydney told Kadi about her daddy everyday. Of course, it can't just be done, that's not this author's style! Enter the social worker, Summer Stephens, who has a past. She happened to have a weekend with Jace, that neither can forget, some time before this! I loved the banter between Jace and Summer! Turns out not all is what it seems in her world either. Which is why she was put on the case. She knows what Sydney wanted, so it's a matter of if the Kadi is happy, healthy, etc. Yet, she remembers that weekend and she's fiesty! Can Jace prove to Summer & everyone, including himself, that he's a good father? Can Kadence show him that he is, even though he's scared? Will anyone else come & try to claim Kadi? Will Summer admit her own demons?
Get your tissues at the ready, this book will break your heart and then slowly tape it back together again. As always Anne leaves me wanting more! I loved the bond Kadence had with Xander and Ethan. When Kadence finally realised that her mommy wasn’t ever coming back, that scene ripped my heart out and left me ugly crying. I wanted to punch Jace’s parents for what they did and I was cheering Jace on when he put them in their place. I really liked that we had four different points of view in this book: Sydney, Jace, Kadence & Summer. I was rooting for Jace to get his woman and for Summer to give the rockstar a chance. To be totally and completely honest: I loved every single thing about this book. it is truly faultless, I wouldn’t be able to find a fault even if I wanted to – I don’t want to by the way. Anne Mercier takes her readers on a journey of heartbreak and grief, to acceptance and love. Although your heart will hurt, you will well and truly fall in love with Kadence – the character and the book. I cannot wait for more from this series but I also cannot wait to re read the series so far now that a new book is added to this awesome series.
When Jace warner – Bass guitarist for Blush, receives some urgent news calling him back home, the last thing he expects to hear is that he is about to become a single parent to a six year old little girl called Kadence. After he arrives home and has to deal with his own grief plus look after a six year old, the last person Jace wanted to see was a social worker! Jace gets the shock of his life when the woman he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about for months, turns up at CFD and turns out to be a social worker, wanting to access his family, home and daughter. Summer can’t help but fall for Jace but she swore that she would never date a rockstar. After having a rocky childhood due to her rockstar father and uncle, Summer is not only determined not to date a rockstar but also make sure another child doesn’t go through what she did. But will Summer give in and give Jace a chance? Will Kadence be happy living with her Daddy and the rock stars?
I enjoyed reading this book. It was an emotional read at times due to some topics in the story but it was also a heartwarming loving romance between two people finding their way to each other.
Jace gets an urgent call from his high school sweetheart but when he finally meets her again afer all this time, secrets will be laid to bare. He finds out that he has a daughter who knows all about him but he didn't know of her existence. Raising a child on his own won't be easy but he has a loving family surrounding them. Jace will do whatever it takes to be a great father. Social worker Summer has a job to figure out whether Jace is fit to be a parent. They've met before and things don't always seem how they seem to be. As time goes by, she gets to know Jace on a whole other level. Will Jace convince Summer he'll do right by his daughter or will she be taken away? Will Summer see more than meets the eye?....

In the blink of an eye, Jace Warner's life gets turned upside down. After six years of not hearing from his high school sweetheart, the only girl he's ever loved, Jace gets an urgent message from her to see him as soon as possible. Not only is he surprised to find her on her deathbed, but he's also surprised to find a little girl that looks just like him, a child he never knew existed.
Now, as her only surviving parent, Jace must learn how to be the father he never knew he wanted to be, and must do it under the watchful eye of a social worker he shares an interesting past with.
I always feel the need to stress this: Even though you can probably get away with reading these stories as stand-alone novels, YOU SHOULD TOTALLY GO BACK AND START THE SERIES FROM THE BEGINNING! I'm a firm believer in getting as much information and back-story on characters as I can, and there tends to be a lot going on with this family.
I loved this story. You'll fall for Jace from the beginning, his fierce love for the daughter he didn't know about coming though in all his actions. You're heart breaks for Kadence and all she's gone through, and will continue to go through as she grows up without her mom.
But for all these moments, don't worry. This is an Anne Mercier book after all, so there will be plenty of heat and naughtiness where the sexy bass player is concerned. Like I said, Jace and Summer (the social worker) share a bit of history, and as we all know history likes to repeat itself...
Another great installment to this fantastic series. I highly recommend it!
I absolutely loved this book! This is my favourite book in Anne’s Rockstar series, and Jace has become my fave main male so far. As with the other books in the series, you’ve got the hot, down to earth, alpha male dirty talker who also has a hidden sweet side. But Jace is so much more, which becomes apparent very quickly when he drops everything and flies to his first love and finds out he has a 6yr old daughter. Right from the start I was brought to tears as I felt the anguish and heartbreak that Jace experienced in watching his first love die, and my heart broke for Kadi at the same time I was falling in love with her. The interactions and love between Kadi and Jace were so moving and heart-warming. I loved how all their bandmates fell for Kadi so quickly and were helping as much as they could right from the start – not that there was any doubt they would do that for Jace. Kadi and her Gentle Giant? Priceless! I really liked Summer with Jace and Kadi. She just fit in perfectly with their lifestyle and her need to help kids. But really it was Jace and Kadi that made this book for me. I really hope Kadi gets a book in the future where she’s grown up, as I’d love to see how kickass she becomes and who is special enough to capture her attention. Can’t wait for the next book and see what’s in store for Xan!
You need the tissues for this one. Wow this is sad but happy, very emotional content throughout. I felt so bad for Sydney, she had tried many times to contact Jace for help. Desperate measures eventually worked. Poor Kadence her life is thrown upside down but she is so strong and adaptable thanks to her mum. This story though it has the sadness it also has some inspiration in second chances and new life changes, it is gripping and holds your attention. It is mainly focussed on Kadence, Jace, Sydney and Summer but we also get a little of Cage and Sera. The others make brief appearances more towards the end. It is harrowing and raw, but uplifting as well, I felt I had a lump in my throat almost all the way through for different reasons. The only down I had was because this is focused so much, rightly so, on Jace we don't get any updated on the quads and I would have liked Kadence meeting them for the first time or at least hearing of some of their firsts. This story starts when they first come home and goes on for at least the most of their first year, we don't get their first birthday party, smile, tooth, crawl or roll over and I feel that's a bit of a shame. Not lots or the actual focus changing but mentions by Sera or Cage or a text or something just to mark that these things happened. But other than that I loved the story.
"Family that's scary, loud, crass, loving, caring, and nosy. A family that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world."
The seventh in the Rockstar Series you may think what is left but let me tell you this story will knock your socks off. It's filled with angst, mind blowing decisions where there are no better options, selfless sacrifices that are oh so selfish but the right thing to do. It's a perfect mix of loss and new beginnings that left me feeling very emotional. Told in multiple POV I think it just enhances the story and makes it a little different. Despite your beliefs I found the idea of what happens after death re assuring and definitely helped to enrich the story. The letters are heart breaking, the message so poignant I shed my fair share of tears reading this but there are also the balancing moments of joy and the heat factor will melt your Kindle. I don't want to give anything way I'm relation to the plot but I loved the sense of family, the no boundaries on the lengths this family will go to for one another to ensure their happiness. Less Rockstar more a second chance romance with added twists this is a great book to lose yourself in for a couple hours.
OMFG!!!... As i refuse to give spoilers i will say that this book is a not to be missed and it is 100% recommended as a 10/10 MUST BE READ AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! I was pulled into this book right from the beginning, I felt as I was actually there in the book with the characters watching everything that was going on within the story. The emotions within this book hit you hard and some of them actually tare your heart strings not just pull them, some of them you don't even see coming. I loved how everything are explained to the main male character Jace to try to make him understand why things where done the way they were. Anne Mercier sure knows how to keep you captivated within the story, there wasn't a single part of this book that didn't get to me, some more than others, but I have to say this book has become my second favourite in this series the first being Falling Down which is the first book of the series. Thank you Anne for writing one hell of a book. I look forward to the next one. You truly are a awesome author.
What a story! Anne warns at the beginning of the book to have a tissue ready and all I can say is you better have more than one. This story gutted me-in a good way. Jace gets a shocking telegram that he's needed by his high school love and to come quickly. When he finally gets to her, she has not only one surprise but two. One being a daughter named Kadance. While he's shocked, scared, confused, he's also mad. Mad that he missed all those years with his daughter and mad that the mother of his child is dying. Now a dad of a six year old little girl, living at CFD, a career he always wanted, he thinks life is going to be okay. Until her. If you love this fabulous, gorgeous series, then you need to read Jace's story. Old friends, sorry, I mean family, a new love and a little girl who has everyone instantly in the palm of her hand, you will love this latest addition to the Rockstar series.
Snuggle up in your favorite reading spot with a drink and a box of tissue for this book! Jace's story will wreck you and then put you back together again. I don't think I had a good handle on Jace before this book. I know him now and he's a standup good guy.
Kadence is the 7th book in the Rockstar series and it has a different pace than the rest. The BFD tour has come to an end, and just in time for Jace's family emergency. There is a heartbreaking loss and a wonderful gift revealed to Jace in one emotional day. His life has completely changed forever and his adopted family pave a smooth path for his transition. Re-enter Summer a girl from his recent past to stir up his feelings even more.
I cried and blew my nose a lot during this read. It was wonderful to see some of the other people on this plane and the next. I highly recommend this book. Anne Mercier is a wonderful storyteller, you won't be disappointed.
This review is from: Kadence (Rockstar Book 7) (Kindle Edition) Kadence is book 7 of the Rockstar Series by Anne Mercier. Another wonderful addition to an already amazing series!! Anne never disappoints. It was so worth the wait, this is the story of Jace Warner, a sweet little girl name Kadence and Summer the social worker. This book will make you laugh, cry, swoon all at the same time. It's a very emotional plot, full of family drama, loss, grieving, a little suspense, sexy rockers, sassy women, cute 6 year old girl, lots of giggles, steamy sex and a forever kind of love. I loved catching up with all the other awesome characters from previews books, they are like a very big family. In all, a beautiful story, with a beautiful ending! NO Spoilers, go buy the book! I highly recommend it and can’t wait for the next story in the series!
I Voluntarily Reviewed A Complimentary Copy Of This Book
Kadence is one of those books that you will stick with you long after you finish reading.
Seven books into the Rockstar series Anne still holds us captivated with great storytelling that leaves you wanting more and looking forward to the next book. This book will have you laughing one minute and crying the next. Loved Jace in this book the way he dealt with the revelation that he had a child was amazing to read, as for Summer I just wanted to give her a big hug loved the detailed explanation for why she thought all rockers acted a certain way. The pacing of Jace and Summer coming together was perfect, thought it fitted the way the story flowed, and what a great ending just have a few tissues handy.
