I should hate him. I should want to see him rot in prison.
But he's also handsome, mysterious, and the sex is out of this world.
Despite my gut telling me to run for the hills, I'm falling for him. If I haven't already fallen. And I'll do anything to keep Beast in my life. I'll try to fit into his world if it means changing, and not for the better.
I'm in so deep, that I'm not sure there is any way out except to tell him...No.
Ella Miles writes sexy romance with strong females that could kick your butt if you piss them off, which they often do to the men that fall for them. She's currently living her own fairy tale near the Rocky Mountains with her high school sweetheart husband. Her heart is also taken by her goofy two year old black lab that is scared of everything, including her own shadow. Ella is the author of the Aligned series. So that kind of took ya on a ride and I am not sure how I feel about it. Scarlett and Nacio have such a strong connection but when do his secrets become too much for her? I never thought I would say it but I am rooting for Nacio to figure out he deserves to be loved. I'm just not sure he'll do that in time. This ends with a cliffhanger and I am anxious to see how it all ends.
Definitely No is the second book in the Definitely Series, and what a hot, steamy, and dark read. Packed with lies, twists and turns, mystery, suspense, and a shocking cliffhanger, this is one definite must read.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
After witnessing the heinous act that Nacio was about to commit Scarlett has questions and she needs answers. The only problem is that the man she loves has disappeared so she desperate times call for desperate measures and she comes up with a bold plan to attract his attention.
Nacio had a job to do and he needed to put his personal feelings aside and complete the task but that was easier said than done. Despite having failed he knows that Scarlett deserves better than he could ever give her, and he is determined to show her why they can never be together.
With every new detail that we learn about Nacio and his family he just becomes more intriguing while Scarlett shows the strong and fierce woman that she is. This story does end on a cliffhanger and I look forward to seeing where this story goes. I listened to an audiobook copy of this story and thought the narrators did a great job of bringing this story to life.
Definitely No by Ella Miles is a romantic suspense that I listened to on audio narrated by Lacy Laurel and Connor Crais. This is the second book in the Definitely series, but is also the fifth book in the Maybe, Definitely Series.
I absolutely love this series! Ella does an amazing job on the storyline. She always pulls me in from the very beginning. I absolutely love Scarlett and Nacio! The story does end on an amazing cliffhanger. I cannot wait to dive into the next book in the series Definitely Forever to get more of Scarlett and Nacio’s story.
Lacy and Connor did an amazing job on the narration. They really bring the story to life.
I would highly recommend this series if you love romantic suspense or contemporary romance.
Ummm… what the heck just happened there? That was an amazing story, but I don’t quite know how I feel about it. It’s dark and twisted, passionate and emotional. It asks us to experience their most fundamental feelings: lust, love, joy, terror, and even overwhelming confusion. Nacio has so many secrets. Even some that he’s been keeping from himself. And by the time this book is over, we – and Scarlett – have learned most of them. I’m not sure what we should be expecting from the final book in the series, but I’m sure it’s going to be just as thrilling a ride. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
This is the second book in this awesome series, and is a continuation of Scarlett and Nacio’s journey. Scarlett is strong and determined, and Nacio is complex, and would rather chase her away than destroy her. This is a great read, and is an emotional roller coaster, as well as twisted, dark, passionate, and with secrets and love. This is a well written flawless story which had me totally enthralled throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more form this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
Great storyline, Nacio a killer and monster he is also sexy and good looking, nearly killed Scarletts best friend. Scarlett is a selfish person and really likes Nacio but he escaped from prison
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oooh Beast...Love when he's in dark mode, love how he keeps breaking the rules for Scar. He's so determined to have Scar even though he knows it won't be forever and that's why I love Beast. He has a heart even though he's too fucked up to believe he has it. As for Scar, I really admire this girl, she's so brave and strong, she's willingly step way out of her comfort zone for the one she loves.
This book is the second book in Definitely Series and definitely my fav so far. In this book everything is all about Beast, I get to know him more, his fucked up family and his dark and dangerous world. I totally understand him, I get where he come from and why he did those awful things. Also this is where Scar trying to fit in Beast's dark world, where I keep thinking that this won't work, because both came from totally different world and Scar definitely deserve better after all she's been through. This book got me on edge, wondering will these two will end up together or will they're realized that they're so different, will they ignoring those lies and ugly truths that surrounding them or will those tear them apart. With some actions and that shocking ending, I love this one, although there's a little thing that bothering me (you have to read it to find out).
If you like romance with a hint of dark and dangerous you need to try this series.
Nacio And Scarlett Have Incredible Chemistry! Scarlett Steps Into Nacio’s World And Secrets Are Revealed. Ends In A Painful Cliffhanger. Fans of the Maybe Trilogy Will Love It.
This is the second book in the Definitely trilogy, which is the second part of the six part Maybe, Definitely series. It isn’t necessary but it is strongly recommended that readers begin with the Maybe trilogy, as the characters featured in the Definitely trilogy are first introduced there. The backstories provide greater depth and the mystery in this first book draws upon knowledge of the first trilogy.
From the Maybe trilogy:
The Maybe trilogy is Kinsley and Killian’s story. Kinsley Elizabeth Felton, twenty-one, returned home to Las Vegas for her father’s funeral at the tail end of her senior year at Yale. Her father and grandfather owned a successful family business that included several casinos. She had known for years what was expected of her. She was to eventually marry a man of her father’s choosing that would one day take over the family business.
Killian Byrne, thirty, was VP of Operations at Felton Corporation and being considered for the CEO position. With a business degree from Harvard and some law school under his belt, he was recruited to Felton Corporation five years earlier. He formed a deep bond with Kinsley's father, Robert. Three years ago, he was informed about a plan for him to marry Kinsley and become CEO. Because of her age, he did not approach Kinsley.
The plan got turned upside down when Kinsley's father died of a heart attack suddenly, and Kinsley learned that the timetable had shifted and a marriage would take place in six months. She had always done as told, but said she can't do this. Even if his considerable appeal did tempt her to agree, Killian didn't want to marry her unless forced to for the CEO position. Killian and Kinsley are attracted to one another, but there are many lies and expectations that hinder their ability to form an honest and true bond. In their final book, the ugly truths are all exposed. Kinsley works to right the wrongs of her family by taking down a tracking ring, and Killian works to save her. In the Definitely trilogy:
In this trilogy Scarlett, Kinsley’s best friend, gets her own story. It takes place nearly ten years after the conclusion of Kinsley’s story. Both women continue living in New York, where they had gone to school and had modelling careers.
In Definitely Yes:
Scarlett Bell, thirty-two, needs excitement in her life. She is a committed workaholic and has a steady dose of one night stands with bad boys since breaking up with her college boyfriend Jake years ago. Her modelling career is winding down now, but she can hardly keep up with Beautifully Bell Enterprises, her fashion and beauty company. When she gets a text from Anonymous one evening, asking her to meet him at his room at the Waldorf for the best night of her life, she struggles with herself. She takes pause until she catches a glimpse of a handsome stranger in the shadows as he exits the bar and catches her eye.
He calls her Beauty, and she calls him Beast. They have a passionate liaison that takes place entirely in the dark. Afterward, they part ways with the intention of never seeing one another again. But Scarlett has a hard time getting the man of her dreams out of her mind.
Beast knows everything about Scarlett. He shouldn’t pursue her, but he cannot help himself. He shares her thrill for excitement. He tells himself it will be just one night, but he cannot walk away and soon thoughts of her consume him. He knows he isn’t good enough for her. If she discovers his identity she will have nothing to do with him. His work begins to suffer. Getting stuck on her is dangerous, though, because she could get in the way of an upcoming assignment. Beast isn’t free to quit his job. He destroys people for a living and always gets the job done.
From Definitely No:
Ignacio Marlow couldn’t do the job. Again. He had failed ten years ago, too. But when it comes to Scarlett Bell he is powerless to act. She is a strong and determined woman. Her deep love for her best friend Kinsley had moved him. He tried to get away, but when she called out his name and wanted to go with him he couldn’t turn her away. But he wouldn’t let her stay because he is a monster. A killer. Incapable of the love she deserves.
Scarlett Bell is devastated when Nacio leaves her and disappears without a trace. She had only just found him, and their connection is too strong to ignore. It doesn’t matter that he is a killer. She knows that there is a man that loves her underneath the darkness that consumes him. She is determined to learn all she can, to show him that she loves him in spite of what he does. To show him he is worthy of her love.
In Nacio and Scarlett’s second book, Nacio tries to push Scarlett away. He is convinced that they have no future. But Scarlett is persistent. She meets his family with the hopes of understanding him better. Reina, his sister, runs the family. Her orders are expected to be obeyed. Santino, his younger and more talkative brother, flirts shamelessly. But as Scarlett gets to see Nacio in his element, and learns of the evil he has done, her love for him is put to the test. The book ends in a painful cliffhanger.
Nacio and Scarlett are an interesting pair. Nacio falls for her when he sees her ten years earlier. When a job brings her back on his radar, he finally acts upon his infatuation. Their anonymous hookup confirms that they both love to take risks. They both love excitement. But in this book Nacio’s identity is revealed to Scarlett. That should cause her to step back. Unlike Nacio, Scarlett’s life has been lived within the law, but a shocking and reckless disregard for her own safety allows her to slip into Nacio’s world without much of a hitch. Living through Kinsley’s experience would certainly have desensitized her to Nacio’s lifestyle. And knowing of Nacio’s role ten years earlier would soften him in her eyes, despite Kinsley’s warning.
There are a few questions that remain. *Spoilers* First, Nacio’s escape five years ago is suspicious. The police do not appear to be looking for him. Second, Nacio’s ability to walk in and out of jail with ease is suspicious. Third, in Definitely Yes, Nacio reports to a man. In Definitely No, his family is run by his sister. There are obviously some missing pieces that will come to light in Definitely Forever.
Nacio and Scarlett’s trilogy continues as Scarlett is introduced to Nacio’s heartless world. Questions arise while the couple struggles with the idea of a future together. The story is nicely written and plot-driven. There are unexpected twists and turns as well as surprising revelations. The characters are nicely developed, and more is learned about Nacio here now that his identity is revealed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Nacio and Scarlett. I rate this book four stars.
Scarlett has talked Kinsley into attending the runway show with her as she was starting to get concerned about her best friend. Kinsley and Killian have been trying for the last ten years to get pregnant and after several miscarriages thought they were finally going to be parents. But then their hearts broke again when she miscarried again. But, her pregnancy has been further along this time and she was determined to bring her friend back to life.
As they are waiting for the show to begin she hears her phone and sees a notification from her Beast telling her that it isn't safe and she needs to get her and Kinsley to safety....now. Only Kinsley wants to dance and she was not going to take away from her friend finally having fun. When she gets a text from Killian to get Kinsley to the restroom for a secret rendezvous they head that way.
As they are heading down the hall there is a man coming towards them with determination and it isn't until they get closer that she sees that it is her Beast. Holding a gun directly at Kinsley. Her Beast...the man who was a killer...the man who was a smuggler, drug dealer and human trafficker...the man who she loved.
I loved this book. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. I am listening to this series narrated by Lacy Laurel and Connor Crais as Scarlett and Beast. This is book two of Scarlett and Beast's story and Lacy and Connor continued to bring these characters to life.
Lacy Laurel portrays Scarlett as a confident, take the world by the balls woman who has to make a huge moral decision...a decision that may lead to losing her best friend.
Connor Crais brings Nasio (Beast) to life. A man full of danger who is a lifetime crimial. A man used to being in control and full of sex appeal and no matter how much Scarlett tries to deny him she finds she is willing to do anything to have him by her side.
This book is action-packed, full of danger and suspense, violence and smoking hot s3x. There is something about listening to a book that brings it even more to life and Lacy Laurel and Connor Crais have done an amazing job as Scarlett and Beast and giving this story life.
If you have triggers, this book is full of violence, with an anti-hero with a history of human trafficking, murder and worse. This series gets darker the further in you get. This six book series is split into two separate trilogies, but the characters are recurring and the storyline is linked to Kinsley and Killian's from books 1 -3 so I suggest you start with the Maybe collection first. There are many twists and turns and cliffhangers throughout, but if you enjoy dark romance you won't be disappointed.
Definitely No Maybe, Definitely, Book 5 By: Ella Miles Narrated by: Lacy Laurel, Connor Crais
Ella Miles continues to bring it in her latest “Maybe, Definitely” novel, it picks up where “Definitely Yes” leaves off. We now know who the beast is and what his intentions are. Even so, Scarlett still wants him but he thinks he is no good for her so he pushes her away revealing who he is and what he is all about is supposed to scare her away. Instead Scarlett steps into his dark world. We learn more about the Beast, his family and why he is the way he is, the monster he believes he is. This is a fast paced story, it is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment, there is plenty of drama, angst, thrilling and suspenseful moments, twists and turns, hot seductive romance and an ending that will make your jaw drop. I am looking forward to what comes next for the Beast and his Beauty. Ella Miles, thank you for another awesome story!
I listened to the Audiobook edition, Lacy Laurel and Connor Crais are talented narrators and voice artists. They continue to bring these characters to life, their portrayal of each character is spot on, they sound just as I picture them to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters emotions, their passion as well as their attitude which is all reflected in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to Thank you for another awesome listen🎧
The second installment of the Definitely Series had parts I really liked, some parts I could overlook and some things I wished were different. I liked that the connection between Scar and Nacio was so strong and she refused to give in to him but it was really difficult to find many redeeming qualities in him. I have fallen for many anti-heroes in the past because l could find some hints of kindness, love, or vulnerability deep inside the person. The only good things about Nacio I found were that he didn't kill Kinsley, he tries to push Scar away, he has dogs, and what he learns at the end of this book.
I could overlook the lack of logistics surrounding the escape from prison and how Scar gets out of jail. I wish there was more detail as how the darkness claims Scarlett. I find it very difficult that a strong woman, such as Scar, falls for the man that is a killer, has taken advantage of women and children through sex trafficking, and hid behind his Beast persona. I also wish there were more indications of the thoughts and feeling both of them had during the 10 year separation.
I plan on reading the final book in the series to find out how it all ends, even though I had a hard time truly enjoying this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don't know where Ella comes up with her stories but they sure are worth it to read.
Definitely No is just amazing. I am loving the twists she threw in the story in this lastest book to the series. Scarlett is amazingly strong willed and determined to get to the man she loves. She'll absolutely do anything to get him to come to her even going as far as admitting to a crime to see if he'll save her. And Preston is just so adorable standing by his boss supporting her crazy schemes. But I have to wonder if he is gay too lol.
Nacio is a hard man to bend. He does not like games and he always have to be in control. He's finding it extremely hard to keep his mind off of Scarlett. Even after deleting all of his information from her phone he wishes she would reach out to him. He believes his world is too much for her and doesn't want to destroy her. Scarlett has other plans though and he has no choice but to be right back in her life after swearing to let her go. Throw in his brother, Santino, and Nacio is just about had it.
The twist....well you'll have to read the book to find out.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Scarlett is the Beauty to Nacio’s Beast. She is deeply and irrevocably in love with him against her better judgement. He’s told her that he is a ruthless killer, that he would even kill her if he had to, but it didn’t change the intense obsessive need she felt for him. This dark, obsessive romance was filled with painful history of Beast’s past and his continued abuse by his father. His equally damaged sister Reina and their tainted past was raw, twisted, and gritty. Beauty’s pain in giving everything up for Beast was equally painful as it was not enough. When he finally got the truth from Reina, too much time had passed. This erotic, intense romance ended in a huge cliffy. As much as I hate cliffys, this story had me captivated from start to finish.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed the first series (Maybe) even though I found some instances in it a bit far fetched and too unrealistic. I continued with this series and it just more bizarre and unrealistic as it went. It was got so ridiculous that I struggled to make myself sit down to finished it. Each book got progressively worse.
Some semi spoilers - let’s start with falling in love with a man you have never seen and never had a conversation with - only sex. To the completely crazy way can be in such danger to perfectly fine and safe in an instance. To sure you can be a murdering drug lord human trafficker but then suddenly the fbi hires you and you can live a normal life? And the sister who was on the run is magically a real estate agent?!? So much that didn’t make sense.
Would you recommend: No Would you read more by this author: probably not
Well, I must say I liked this series more than the Maybe series & the characters, I loved Scarlett than Kinsley. Both the characters are opposite of each other, but at the same time, both the characters are lovely. The complete series was well written & the lead i.e., the heroine's characters is strong, I liked that. The hero on the other hand ooh la la...
This series has Author's taste in the whole story, suspense, love, mystery, erotic chemistry, everything Ella's readers need from her. Every part, every scene of the story is brilliantly written & the plot, the pace of the story was absolutely amazing.
The series is absolutely beautiful and I would like to recommend this series to every romance book lover with a mystery & suspense in it.
Totally speechless and absolutely heart broken with the way this book ends. Scarlett and Naico have everything staked against them and this leg in their journey is one challenge after another for each of them. Just when they think they are in the same space, Reina, Naico and Santino's sister unlocks a piece of Naico's past that Scarlett finds trumps everything them have triumphed over thus far. I cannot wait to read the final piece of this adventure. I highly recommend that you check out this author, she writes in trilogies and they are worth each and every sleepless night it takes to read aboth these characters and the world that she has created for them.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
OMG!! I started this book with such staunch opinions of the characters. Who I thought was right, who I thought was wrong, and who I thought was certifiably insane. You'll just have to read it to follow that line of thought. And then BAM, out of nowhere, there it was. It was like the characters were playing musical chairs with their personalities and truly I want to cry for Beast, I understand Beauty's reaction and her actions, which makes the knot in my throat all the bigger. I have every faith it will work out in the end, but good grief, the emotional rollercoaster this story is taking us on, with more to come I'm sure, is so twisted and enthralling I can't help but go along for the ride.
Unexpected twists and turns in this installment as both Scarlett and Nacio fall headlong into a a murkily defined relationship, drawn by their mutual, undeniable and obsessive attraction for each other. How can they ever reckon a future together let alone their current states of being with their comfort zones warring with ethics and loyalties. A bit of convoluted thinking leads to Scarlett getting Nacio’s attention, but it is all about visiting her dark side to see if she could be what he needs her to be, to see, as well as experience for herself, now that Nacio has opened the door to his life for her.
OUCH! That ending was painful! Oh... I can't wait to see where this goes. This installment definitely grabbed my attention. Scarlett does something dangerous, trying to force Nacio's hand. What comes next is nothing she would have ever conjured as being a possibility.
I was remiss previously but one thing about this series, it's best enjoyed after reading the Maybe trilogy. Several characters carryover along with their respective stories bleeding into this series. This installment is not standalone material. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this audiobook and occasionally switched off to read the book.
I'm reading these now that all three books have been published. It's a good thing because these are sudden cliff hangers.
Is a man who has done horrible things worthy of love? If someone loves a horrible man, does that mean she has to do horrible things as well? Scarlet loves Nacio but doesn't know if she can accept all of who he is. She tries hard to figure it out, but the whole truth might break her. This continues to be a hot steamy read with suspenseful twists. I'm going straight into book three.
Definitely No. I enjoyed this next book of the series. It kept me on edge. Scarlett joined the Beast because she knew she loved him. But it didn't work the way she wanted it to. She finds out who the Beast is and what he does but she doesn't care because she believes love will conquer all. So she thought. But things changed when she finds out Nacio's past. A great read! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***
I wanted to love this book. I just couldn't wrap myself around this. The killing finally got to me. It was all so senseless. I can get past lots of bad stuff in the dark books I sometimes read, but this was a line too far. I will try the last book, only because I've already bought it. Not sure why this author found it necessary to bring this story to this point, not a good place to be. Sorry, I hate writing bad reviews, but truth be told I just can't recommend this series.
Oh goodness what a ride! I MEAN!!!!!!! The secret of who Beast is, is out in the open, and I am not going to lie the brother duo is funny as hell being that Santino is such a fun character. Scar leads with her heart, and she goes hard, even if she has to do things she would’ve never done in her. This book was really good, even though Scarlet can be so damn annoying and needy, sometimes childish as hell, but other than that I just love these two! The cliffhanger of course was DRAMATIC as hell, book 3 I know better NOT disappoint. Lol
As Scarlett and Nacio's story continues to unfold the tension ratchets up, the twists keep coming and the passion gets hotter. This is an enjoyable dark romance that asks some hard questions, offers compelling characters, powerful emotions and sizzling scenes that will keep you on edge waiting to see what happens next. It does end on a cliffhanger in preparation of the next book. This is my frank, freely posted review.
DARK and sooo INTENSE! Eeek! I'm still holding my breath. The suspense is infuriating but the drama pushes me to the edge vigorously turning the pages as the wicked twists get more wicked more emotionally grueling and raw while the passionate throbbing chemistry dominates and roars a blazing fire into the story but seeps into my intimate bits warming me with a need for more. A fantastic must read that refuses to release the hold it continues to keep me in with a pleading need for more!
Beauty and Beast. Just like the prior series I read of Ella Miles each book gets better and better. If you like the mystery suspense romance you really should check this series out. You will find out who the beast is now the question can Scarlet look past that. The twists are shocking and so cool. Lies and truths will it tear them apart? The ending will blow you away. On to the next book cannot wait! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Wow! This continuation of the series left me speechless. It is dark and gritty, and oh so emotional. The stories of Nacio's (Beast's) past as well as everything Scarlett gives up and goes through being with Beast had me captivated. This does end in a cliffhanger and I am already anxious to read what happens next. *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is my honest review.*
This book is pretty screwed up but I loved it. So twisted and dark but sad too. I love the tension and the chemistry between Beauty and Beast. The heat between these too is burning hot. I enjoy their sex scenes too. The question remains, will they find love together again? I can't wait to find out!
Oh my god, this needs more stars. Such intensity and passion and overwhelming angst. I am waiting with bated breath for the next book to come out. I can't wait to find out what happens next!! Scarlett and Nacio are so off the charts. Crazy and heartpounding pleasure.
