Keep your competition close…and your heart even closer.

When Nevada Parker travels to Marietta, Montana, she anticipates enough peace and quiet to finish her PhD dissertation. Cupidville turns out to be anything but quiet. In fact, it looks like Valentine’s Day—her least favorite holiday—exploded all over the small town.

Among the sea of red hearts, “Be Mine” signs, and pink, pink, pink, Nevada spots a flyer for a multi-day race called The Valentine Quest. The grand prize—a luxury tropical vacation—would be the perfect welcome-home gift for her brother who’s leaving the military.

Dustin Decker sure could use a break from giving city slickers sleigh rides—and from the now ex-girlfriend who issued an ultimatum. Even with a bum knee from his bull riding days, the race’s grand prize is as good as his—until he realizes he needs a partner for some of the more complicated tasks.

He makes a strategic pact with the prim, bookish Nevada. But with a kiss, their unlikely alliance turns into something more…and soon racing isn’t the only thing on their minds. As the finish line nears, they must decide if the grand prize is worth more than what they’ve found together…or if one of them will walk away empty handed—and broken hearted.

Nevada Parker has been staying with her sister, Dakota, in the small town of Marietta, Montana while she works on finishing up her PhD dissertation. Every time Nevada visits her sister at work at the local chocolate shop she cringes with the overdone Valentine's decorations since Nevada has given up on finding her own love and focuses only on her studies.

Nevada however learns of a local event called the Valentine Quest in which the grand prize is a luxury vacation that Nevada thinks would be the perfect gift for her brother who will be leaving the military soon. Leaving her comfort zone Nevada signs up for the multi day event but finds herself having to make an alliance with local cowboy, Dustin Decker, when the pair find themselves the only singles and well outnumbered by all of the couples that have entered.

The Valentine's Quest is the fifth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. Each book in the series features a new and different couple that have some tie to the small town chocolate shop in Marietta, Montana. It's not necessary to have read the other books in the series to enjoy each individual read but as usual with any book set in this lovely little small town this book is filled with all the same charm and has glimpses of some of the previous characters from this town.

My favorite part of this story was simply the creativity behind the Valentine Quest competition that Nevada and Dustin have entered. Such a fun setting for a couple to come together as they balance each other's strengths and weaknesses while completing holiday themed tasks together. Both characters were extremely likable in this setting and the small town charm of the competition just completely won me over. Definitely would recommend this one to the romance fans out there.

Thank you to Netgalley, Tule Publishing and Melissa McClone for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance reader copy of this book.

You can find my review on both Goodreads and Amazon. On Goodreads from today under Karen Whittard and on Amazon under k.e.whittard from publication date.

With Valentine's Day fast approaching how could I not read this book that is all about the season of love.

When our leading lady Nevada Parker travels through Marietta in Montana all she is hoping for is peace and quite in order to finish her dissertation for her PHD.

However when she arrives things aren't quite how she expected. In fact the town has been big by cupids arrow a million times over. There are banners and heart and flowers absolutely everywhere. Everything is pink and dedicated to the theme of love. It is all in aid of the Valentine's Quest a fun run with a top prize of a holiday in the sun on a tropical island.

Nevada hates Valentine's Day. Bug the event has caught her attention and she thinks that it would be the perfect welcome home present for her brother who is in the military.

However Nevada has big competition. In the form of Dustin Decker who is desperate to get his grubby hands on the prize. As he needs a break from his job of taking people around on a sleigh and having just broken up with his girlfriend.

Dustin thinks that everyone else will be of no competition to him and cockily thinks the prize is basically his for the taking already.

However Dustin does realise that he needs a partner to complete some of the tasks. When he does however he quickly makes a plan with Nevada to win the prize.

But when a cheeky kiss is shared between them. It suddenly turns everything on its heads. Has cupids arrow hit these two harder then they realise?

I have truely loved all the books in the chocolate shop series. This is the second in the series that Melissa McClone had done. As they are usually written by different people. However don't worry about it being a series thou because they are all stand alone books and although some of the characters overlap you don't need the other books in the series for the book to make sense.

I first picked this book because I thought that the front cover just looked totally adorable. All of the covers in the series are really lovely and charming. I really liked the characters in this book and the chemistry between them and I thought they were very sweet together.

Yes the books in this series the endings are all rather predictable but do you know what? I think that's ok and I find that rather charming. Sometimes you need something that you don't have to think too hard about and you can just read it really quickly and easily. Which is what you can do with this book.

This is a very fun and sweet book that if you are a fan of romance and Valentine's Day that I would highly recommend it as I believe you will love it.

Happy reading everyone

Nevada travels to Marietta, Montana to stay with her sister and write the PhD dissertation. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the town is covered in all sorts of decorations for the day. Nevada doesn’t like Valentine’s Day because of the events that happened in the past. Her sister works at the chocolate shop and that’s where she finds out about the multi-day competition called Valentine Quest. Nevada decides to participate, because the grand prize is luxury tropical vacation to Fiji and she would like to give the prize to her brother, who is leaving military very soon. While visiting her sister at work she meets Dustin, who is also interested in the competition and as other people compete in couples, they decide to unite their forces to win the whole thing.

It was a sweet small town story that takes place around Valentine’s Day. I adored the setting and found the competition part really interesting. It was a heart warming story and the whole series seems to have the same nice tone to them. It’s more fun to read the series in order, but each story stands on its own very well.

The Valentine Quest

Melissa McClone

Received from Netgalley for review.

THE VALENTINE QUEST is the fifth book in the Love At The Chocolate Shop series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. Do yourself a favor and read these books in order though. You miss out on too much of the characters backgrounds if you don't. Nevada Parker has been staying with her sister Dakota who works at the chocolate shop. One day while on her way to see her sister, she slips and falls right on her butt. Right in front of Dustin Decker, a hot and sexy cowboy who catches Nevada's eye right away. Anyway, once inside the chocolate shop they both learn that they are running a holiday contest called THE VALENTINE QUEST. After some debating, Nevada and Dustin decided they both want to be in this contest.

Both Dustin and Nevada swear they aren't looking to settle down and like their lives just they way they are now. Right!! We all know how this is going to go right? Dustin and Nevada decide to team up together to help each other out with the contest. Oh boy, this is going to be fun right? One night during the competition, they share a kiss and Nevada can't stop thinking about it. THE VALENTINE QUEST is a very funny journey for these two and you will find yourself giggling out loud at some of the situations Nevada and Dustin get themselves into.

THE VALENTINE QUEST will leave you guessing about the rest of the characters you will meet along the way, but not with a huge cliffhanger or anything like that. I truly enjoyed watching Nevada and Dustin grow and learn how to rely on each other during the contest. At first, it was a disaster and I thought they would kill each other! But as the story goes on, each of them really balance the other out. I finished this heart warming story with a huge smile on my face and can't wait to continue with this series. This is an awesome series, by various authors and to me, the series just keeps getting better and better. Melissa McClone hooked me from the very first page and never let me or my heart go! Don't you love when an author can do that to you?

This series of stand-alone stories keeps get better book after book.
The Valentine Quest was another well delivered sweet and a bit emotional story.

I've loved to read Nevada and Dustin's journey. They have nothing in common, the first is on her way to be the best professor ever and the latter is a cowboy, but their aversion to long term love relationships.Fortunately the Marietta's Valentine Quest will help them discovering their true fears and helping them to overcome their limits in order to reach their happiness.

I can't wait for Melissa McClone 's next story because her words are so good and easy to read.

Take a smart, a shy, nerdy professor type and mix her with a past rodeo rider still wanting to prove he still has it.

Throw in the town of Marietta and the continuing series of Love at the Chocolate Shop and you have the fifth book, The Valentine Quest.

This is a tale of two seemingly opposites coming together for a specific purpose... and finding out there is more attraction to each other than the ultimate goal which brought them together.
It was fun seeing a distant and a bit prickly gal capture a cowboy. Our cowboy couldn't figure out what hit him... and he was smitten.

This is a continuing series and each entry has been fun.

This is such a sweet romance in every sense of the word sweet - I loved it!

Nevada Parker has always struggled to fit in. Academically able, she was fast tracked, missing out years at school so was always with older children or students. After a debacle at her first Valentine’s Ball where she was publicly humiliated, she’s never liked the celebration. Now, however, she’s staying with her older sister in Marietta, Montana and reads about the competition being run there over several days, The Valentine Quest. The grand prize is a luxury holiday which would be a great way to welcome her brother back after years in the military. When local cowboy, Dustin Decker, suggests they team up for the competition she reluctantly agrees. Get ready for sweet treats, community service, cuddly cats and much more in this story where their original plans may well have to revised as fate steps in . . . .

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Marietta again through this story and catching up on the continuing sagas of other couples met in earlier novels as well as the delectable pair who are the focus for this one. It has great characters, is well written and a delight to get lost in. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it (and the other books in the series) to anyone who enjoys scrumptious romance with the added treat of a side serving of chocolate treats!

Many thanks to the publishers who gifted me a copy of this book through NetGalley without any obligations. This is my honest review after choosing to read it!

The Valentine Quest is the fifth book in the "Love At The Chocolate Shop" series, but it is only the second one I have read. I didn't have a problem following the story, but will go back and read the first three so I know the whole story about all the characters.

In this story Nevada Parker has been staying with her sister Dakota who works at the chocolate shop. She is visiting and teaching at the local college while working on her dissertation. When she falls on her butt outside the Chocolate Shop, Dustin Decker helps her up. When she realized that the sexy cowboy who had come into the store was the man who helped her up, her hormones start working overtime. Dustin had decided to enter the Valentine Quest (a several day event) where the grand prize is a trip to Fiji. After some convincing by her sister, Nevada enters as well. Dustin and Nevada both have situations in their backgrounds that caused them to not want to settle down. They are happy just the way they are. When the competition begins, it becomes obvious to them that unless they team up they will be at a disadvantage with all the other teams in pairs.

The Valentine Quest is a very funny journey for these two and you will find yourself giggling out loud at some of the situations Nevada and Dustin get themselves into. Watching their relationship blossom as they share secrets and help each other deal with situations along the way was enjoyable. They went from both wanting to win the Quest to caring more about each other as the story goes on. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. The interesting thing about this series is that each book is written by a different author, yet the characters are the same and the books fit together nicely. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

Sometimes I can imagine Cupid hovering over in a corner, surveying the surroundings looking for his latest victims… ah, potential couples, yeah that’s what I meant, and thinking to himself “Yeah. Those two. Total opposites, not looking for or believing in love. I’ll show them what love is all about, piece of cake… chocolate cake of course.”

On the surface Nevada and Dustin could not be further apart on much of anything. He’s a retired rodeo cowboy now working as a ranch hand with a bum knee. A bit cocky, a little arrogant and completely lost without his rodeo career to define him as a winner still. He’s watched that love thing dissolve with his parents and never intends to go there. She’s about as nerdy as one can get, book smart but maybe not life smart, shyness hides behind an intelligence that some find intimidating. One really bad, painful experience has proven to her that love is simply not something she’s willing to take a chance on ever again. All the hearts and pink decorations in the world will not change her mind. Yep, totally opposites except in their shared belief that love is for fools – and they are not about to be foolish. Oh, Cupid, can you ever pick ’em. *mischievous grin*

There is one thing that these two share right away – the desire for that vacation grand prize for winning The Valentine Quest. Trouble is, not all of the quest can be done alone and they need a partner, someone who knows the rules, keeps their sight on the grand prize and won’t let emotions get in the way… at all. Sounds like Nevada and Dustin make perfect partners – now can they let themselves be perfect for each other lovers and let the past go to live and love in the right now, and maybe the future.

I enjoyed The Valentine Quest so much. We get the chance to catch up a bit on the underlying story line threads that are woven throughout all the stories, visit a little with past couples, try to figure out who the anonymous donor with deep pockets truly is, and watch a man and woman discover that love doesn’t have to be hurtful if it’s shared with the right person. Oh, there are going to be bumps along the romantic road for Dustin and Nevada, nothing worth while is truly easy. But they stick, they try, they work on it until loving each other is as natural as a love for chocolate. I like this couple, and I believe in the end that they’re going to beat the odds of their pasts and make it. Sometimes what you need is hope, with a bit of that just about anything is possible.

Love at the Chocolate Shop is one of those series where yes, each story “could” stand on it’s own as an enjoyable romance. But with a few story threads that continue in the background of most of the stories, I personally believe that this is a series best enjoyed by following from the beginning.

I would definitely recommend this title and this series to any Romance reader who enjoys a solid, good story, likable couples, engaging secondary characters… oh, and a love for chocolate. Indulge a bit and enjoy.

Dustin had to retire as a bull rider as he got injured. He is now working at Bar V5 Ranch.
He wants to prove to himself and others he still has can be a good rider by entering a competition to win a getaway.

Dakota has her sister Nevada staying with her while she is temporarily teaching at a local college. She wants York, her brother to get the trip once he retires.

It took a bit for Dustin and Nevada to open up to each other but once they did things ran smoothly. Opposites to attract in this story.

The author does a great job with the setting and chemistry. The reader is glued to their seat to see if these two will come together. I do like the other characters in the book and look forward to reading their story hopefully.

Love at the Chocolate Shop has done it again with The Valentine Quest, the fifth book in this delightful series. Seriously...who doesn't love romance AND chocolate? I admit I haven't YET read them all but loved the ones I have. Another fact I love about this series is that each book is written by a different author. Although, each book in the series is connected to the chocolate shop, Copper Mountain Chocolates, they are all standalone.

Before I sum up this book for you, I'll tell you that is was a beautiful story. Pretty clean as far as intimacy; just some sweet and passionate kisses. Truth is I didn't mind that this couple never made it to the bedroom. The author's writing was talented in that she weaved a sweet story that had me engrossed from the first page. Every written word, spoken and unspoken, was honest and believable. I couldn't wait for the happily ever after.

Dustin Decker and Nevada Parker.....

The center of this story's focus is the Valentine Quest. The contest is for couples and singles, however chances to win were better for couples. You'll read why on your own. The prize for the contest is a vacation in Fiji. Both Dustin and Nevada are eager to win. Nevada wants this vacation trip so she can give it to her brother, York, who will be retiring from the military in a few months time. York is the big brother I wish I had. Unfortunately I am the oldest in my family and my brother is one of the youngest among my five siblings. York is loving, generous, loyal and protective of his younger sisters. Especially his youngest, Nevada. Nevada wants to do something special to show her love and appreciation so she is determined to win for him. (I'll say this right now...I hope we get to meet York in person, in Marietta one day soon.)

Unfortunately Nevada is up against a lot of eager contestants.

Dustin just wants a vacation. He loves his job as a wrangler on the Bar V5 resort ranch but lately is feeling a little stifled. He just wants to get out of Marietta for a couple of weeks during the winter when ranch work is slow and monotonous. And what's more inviting than a warm tropical island with tiki bars and bikinis? But there is a small problem he foresees; couples entering will have an advantage and he was planning to enter as a single. But he has an idea.

Dustin teams up with Nevada. He doesn't know her well; she's just visiting her sister, Dakota, for the winter. Yes she's a bit prudish however she is beautiful and very smart. Nevada is a graduate student currently working on her dissertation so she can receive her PHD degree and teach at a university. She and Dustin don't have much in common. Except they both want to win AND neither want to be involved in a relationship. Dustin believes he is not made for commitment. And Nevada is afraid to get involved with any man for fear of being hurt. Again.

Dustin and Nevada get off to a poor start; not doing well with their first task. But soon they start to progress in the rankings and the prize is looking like it's within their reach. Meanwhile, as they get to know each other better becoming friends, their attraction for each other grows. They become closer than either expected.

But then the proverbial 'shoe' drops. With a loud thud I might add. I won't give any details away but there was an emotional; moment where my heart hurt.

Then came the grand gesture. It was sweet and adorable. Was it predictable? Yes, and the ending came quicker than I would have liked but I still enjoyed it. The Valentine Quest is a great book to read with Valentines Day just around the corner.

I understand there will be more books in this series. There is definitely one story I am eager for. Portia's. She has been around since the beginning of the series (if you are a fan of all the Montana Born books, then you will know of Portia from the Carrigan's series) and each book gives us a glimpse of her troubles. Her happy ending is one I am impatient for. I just hope the wait won't be too long.

An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received free via Netgalley for an honest review.

The Valentine Quest was a truly lovely addition to this series. I'd even have to go so far as to say it is my new favorite.

Nevada hits very close to home: book smart as all get out but socially awkward and struggling to deal with emotional entanglements. I liked how she started to trust a bit when Dustin trusted her first. I liked how her sister (Dakota from A Thankful Heart) and brother York both show they care for her. I liked her in all her Valentine-hating, love is myth glory. And I loved why she was that way.

Dustin is a character we have seen before as he is part of the Bar V5 family. I liked and appreciated that he starts out exactly the way we have seen him before. I like that he gets a nice character arc and I enjoyed seeing him with Brooklyn especially, but also with other characters. I had more trouble with why he was also a love hater, but it worked.

I loved the ending and I loved how both Nevada and Dustin changed through the course of the book. This was a very strong book because of that. On the flip side, I struggled a great deal with how the "big issue" was handled. As for Dustin's reaction to the issue, it sucked big time. But, it also helped him see himself a bit better and made him a better person.

As a result, the ending was all the better. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I am hopeful for a book for York.

This is the second book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series that I have read by Ms. McClone. In this one we meet Nevada who hates Valentine's Day (with good reason), and Dustin who is pretty much a confirmed bachelor. Ms. McClone works her magic with these two, while they are completing this quest together they not only find out about themselves, but help each other in the process. A very sweet romance. Special thanks to Netgalley, Tule Publishing and Melissa McClone for allowing me to read this book. 4/5 Cross posting to NetGalley, My Reading Reality and Amazon

> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < <
Another whimsical, holiday cover set inside the chocolate shop. Synopsis sounds entertaining and more adventurous.
> > Looking Deeper < <
POV ~> Third-person
Dustin is a retired (injured) bull rider, now working at the Bar V5 Ranch. He enters the competition as much to prove he's still a winner as to win a tropical getaway. He's a bit cocky and self-assured outwardly, but a nice guy once you peel away the outer layers. Nevada is staying with her sister, Dakota, while writing her dissertation and taking a temporary teaching position at a local college. She enters the contest in hopes of winning her brother, York, the vacation once he retires out of the Air Force.
She was not as easy to warm up to at first, but as she got to know Dustin, she began to open up and become a warmer person as a result. The chemistry between them is on/off and their compatibility was, at times, questionable - particularly in the beginning. As the Quest progresses, they become closer... it's a slow, gradual build to any kind of feelings. The secondary characters consist of much of the townsfolk of Marietta, several which have been featured as lead characters thus far in the series or have been introduced in prior installments. Dialogue was mature and appropriate throughout and the cast interaction was believable. The plot was fun and enjoyable. There were a few "laugh out loud" moments for me. The story and time line flowed smoothly. The conflicts were mostly self-imposed with one minor external set-back, but Dustin and Nevada seemed to navigate the circumstances well. There were no major "I knew it" moments, nor were there any fun surprises. The plot leaves off with an implied HEA for the lead couple, but keep us guessing about Dakota and Bryce, as well as a few other characters who have some interesting developments happening in the background. Another mysterious donation, from the same person? We do not know. I felt a bit sad for Eli in the end, no bikini babes for him...
This is a clean, sweet read... nothing beyond a few kisses. While each story may be able to stand on it's own with it's own lead set of characters, the plots are interwoven to a degree and the time line continues onward like a serial or soap opera may. I'd recommend starting at the beginning and reading all of these warm, sweet, small-town Holiday infused romances.

Valentine's Day is Nevada Parker's least favorite holiday...so imagine her horror when she strolls thru the town of Marietta, Montana, with red and pink love inspired decorations...everywhere! She may be lonely but she didn’t need to be one half of a couple to define herself. In her opinion, they should rename the town to Cupidville!

Among the mayhem a flyer captures her eye for "The Valentine Quest". The multi-day event required participants to be smart—she was— willing to volunteer— she could—and to be adventurous— no with a capital N-O. However, she wants to win the Quest in order to send her brother, York, on the prize trip, for everything he’s done for her.

Will her jaded views of love and relationships change when she meets Dustin Decker. ..one hot and sexy cowboy?

He's not only sexy, but he’s also charming. While she's not looking for a relationship, there’s just something about him that has her feeling all gooey inside.

Dustin doesn't do relationships; his parent’s divorce taught him, that they weren't for him. He's recovering from injuries from his rodeo days...but he needs this quest. He needs to prove he's still able to do things... that he can still be a winner! Decker and Nevada stand a better chance if they work together against the other pairs...and so an alliance is born! Dustin’s hot and cold mood changes confuse Nevada while still leaving her reeling anytime he’s near. Dustin is amazed with this shy, nerdy, quiet woman. But will a smart girl from New York be interested in a fling with a Montana cowboy like him? She’s been hurt before, but is she smart enough to know what she has with Dustin and go for it?

A sweet story that has both Dustin and Nevada thrown off kilter with their chemistry and attraction for one another. Neither is what they typically go for, yet they have each other captivated. I enjoyed reading about Dustin falling for Nevada…and boy does he fall HARD! Always fun to read about the confirmed bachelor getting hit by cupid! Nevada was endearing with her nerdy and shy demeanor. The story flowed smoothly with witty banter and laugh out loud moments. The Characters were well developed and had me laughing, smiling and cheering them on. A witty and heart-felt romance where opposites attract.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC for my honest review.

First of all, this is absolutely one of my favorite covers so far in this series. I just adore the illustrated pictures that they've gone with and look forward to seeing them. I really enjoyed this story of both these characters NOT looking for love but finding it anyway. Both Dustin and Nevada were resigned to live the single life because it would be better for both of them not to let love distract them in their life pursuits. However when they decide to join forces in the Valentine Quest contest, they learn so much about the other and about themselves. I love it when characters develop and stretch over a story. Dustin had to stop thinking about his past and letting those hard times define his present situation. things may not have worked out for his folks but things could definitely be different for him. Nevada herself was also letting the past taint her situation. Dustin slowly got her to make new memories and that was just the beginning of them as a true couple in love.

I am doing a re-read to refresh myself with this series. I’m catching more nuances of why Nevada and Dustin belong together, even if they are opposites.

GR also lost my finished date for this book. WTF. What is the point of actually marking them down only for GR to lose my fricking data? Is there a pattern? Should I be worry for other books?

A digitized ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Initially I had not plan on reading this book; while I recognized who the MC was, she didn't feel too relevant to the town, nor did the blurb sell it for me. But failing to realize Book 3's MC was relevant to request it in time would always annoy me, so I probed a little further. Fellow Goodreads User Marsha Spohn's input convinced me to give it a go. Let's just hope I'll like it! xP

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
Set in a quaint town in Montana this romantic novel is a bit frivolous and frothy. The sexy former bull rider meets the nerdy, incredibly smart but cute Nevada. Two opposites who are attracted to each other, the outcome is predictable.
But it is a lighthearted ,quick and easy read which made me smile. Enjoyable for what it is.

Thanks to netgalley.com for the ARC of this book.
What a sweet story. I just loved this story from the first chapter to the very last chapter. Oh, I was about in tears when they delivered the boxes to the families and at the children's hospital it was so touching. I loved how these characters developed in the book and how much personal growth they experience throughout this book.

I purchased this as the Parker Family Trilogy and I'm reviewing them individually.

I realize these are holiday based but I was in the mood for sweet. In this one Nevada Parker has come to Marietta, Montana for the quiet of her sister Dakota's home and town to finish her dissertation. She's also teaching three days a week in Boseman. She's bringing Dakota her boots, since the weather report was wrong again, when she manages to slip. A man helps her up but her glasses are smeared and she can't see him. He hands her a handkerchief to dry them, tells her to keep it and leaves after ascertaining she's okay.

You'll recall Dakota works at Copper Mountain Chocolates and as Nevada drinks her hot chocolate, a man enters. Now he recognizes her, but she doesn't him, because her glasses were so smeared. Dustin introduces himself and the conversation turns to the upcoming Valentine's Quest. A surprise all inclusive vacation to Fiji is the new grand prize and the quest has been getting more interest.

Dustin is entering the Quest, he wants the vacation and is determined to win it. Nevada decides the vacation would be perfect for her brother York, as he leaves the Air Force and transitions to civilian life. What Dustin and Nevada don't expect is that the other contestants are couples which puts them as individuals at a disadvantage. It's then Dustin comes with the idea to partner up until the last challenge.

Now these two are very different and as partners that does work. Neither of them has any intention of falling in love. But you know how that goes.

Lots of fun, with laughter, tears, both happy and sad, plus the romance.

Marietta celebrates with a romantic competition called The Valentine Quest. The grand prize is a tropical vacation. Nevada Parker wants to give her brother a surprise when he leaves the military. Dustin Decker, a former rodeo champ, wants to win to enjoy the sun and sand. When these two decide to work together things get interesting. I loved seeing their attraction grow as the work together. I wanted them to get a HEA. Nevada is very intelligent, but insecure socially. She hasn't recovered from a painful college experience. I was happy that she took a chance on the contest. Dustin is a hard worker and a flirt. His parents rocky marriage makes him leary of commitment. Neither are looking for a relationship but fate has other plans. I loved this tender and flirty romance. The characters are compelling and drew me into the story. I enjoyed their snappy dialogue. I always love visiting Marietta as well as Sage's Chocolate Shop. I can't get enough of this town. Melissa McClone has the perfect writing style. She made fall in love with The Valentine Quest and her contestants.
A copy of this book was provided to me. I voluntarily read this book and these comments are my honest opinions.

This is another great Marietta, Montana book and yes it is based around Sage's chocolate shop. Nevada comes home to work on her dissertation. She has always be the nerdy girl...the one with her nose in the books. Her sister Dakota works at Sage's chocolate shop. Of course her sister goes there for the HOT Chocolate which sounds amazing to me the reader so you know it is in person ....right? While at the shop. Nevada sees the flyer about the Valentine's Day Quest and with a nice prize of a trip to Fiji decides to enter to win. She wants to win the trip for their brother YORK ( love their names right???) who is leaving the Air Force.

Well being single and on the quest she is teamed up with another single who happens to be a guy Dustin...a HOT cowboy. I will let your mind wander from here. Mind did OH BOY Did it wander.
Anyways this book had all the perfect this...laughter, fun, and romance too.
You do not need to have read all the books in the Love At the Chocolate Shop series to enjoy this book but I highly recommend them anyways.

The Valentine Quest (Love at the Chocolate Shop #5) by Melissa McClone.
I really enjoyed reading this book, Melissa McClone does an awesome job of writing the story of Nevada Parker and Dustin Decker.
I could feel the emotions and how hard it was for Dustin and how he is use to doing things and winning.
Nevada is the bookish type and wants to finish her PhD but really wants to win the Multi-day race called The Valentine Quest for her brother. He is always doing things for her and her sister Dakota.
When they both find out they need a partner, Nevada and Dustin who seem to have some chemistry decide to work together. They are both very competitive and both want to win. There is only one winner.
Like I said I did enjoy reading this book, I love how all the characters from this series intermingle and makes it even better.
I want to thank NetGalley, Tule Publishing and Melissa McClone for letter me read this book.

This was such a fun take on a romance. Nevada is there to finish her PhD and to spend time with her sister Dakota, so she did not have time for the hot cowboy, also she HATES Valentine's Day. Dustin needs a break from his day to day job at the ranch. There is a grand prize at the end of the Valentine Quest of a vacation to Fiji. Nevada decides to enter to win a trip for her brother who will be leaving the Air Force soon. Dustin just wants a vacation. Dustin realizes every other "team" is partners so he forms an alliance with Nevada. Things sure start out rocky but can a magical kiss and working together to win the quest be just what these two need to start something more?

I loved that it wasn't just an instant thing between them, neither wanted a relationship. Both had their mind made up about the other early, but sometimes as you work together you find out what the other person is really made of and you realize what you initially thought was so wrong.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is one of the best books I've read. It is more than a romance about two people falling in love. It is about loving yourself, your community and humanity. It is a truly beautiful story that completely encompasses the spirit and meaning behind Valentine's Day. Don't misunderstand, the budding relationship between Dustin and Nevada is so sweet and pure that it will make your heart melt.

The story concept of a quest that requires it's constestants to complete challenges both physically and emotionally is pure genuis. I love everything about this book and strongly advise it as a must read. It will make your heart and soul warm and fuzzy.

The Valentine Quest, by Melissa McClone, is the fifth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series.

"Keep your competition close... and you heart even closer."

Dustin Decker, retired bull-rider turned sleigh driver and Nevada Parker, the bookworm, are two unlikely partners. However, in the stakes of winning the grand prize, they join forces... will they will or ultimately lose even more?

This was a fun story to read with a town truly Valentine themed to the hilt. The couple is fun and have their quirks, but the journey they take is well written.

Nevada was trying to finish her dissertation and teach, but the grand prize for the Valentine's Quest caught her eye and she thought that would make a great gift for her brother. Nevada is waiting for the contest to start and so is Dustin. When they realize that everyone else is paired up they decide to work together. These two have issues with the first challenge. They get some advice from another couple that helps. Nevada and Dustin try to fight their attraction for each other, but Dustin hurts Nevada's feelings after she has opened up to him. Will Dustin be able to win Nevada back?

Nevada Parker, a shy nerdy type woman meets forcibly retired rodeo star Dustin Decker.
And the sweet tale of two hurting souls healing begins.
Ms. McClone takes you to the wonderful little town of Marrietta Montana, shows you the inhabitants and makes you want to stay.......at least when you get to the end.....you know the next book in the series will bring you back.
I received an Arc cop to peruse.
