Who is Daemon? Why did he target G and his family? Join G in this second part of his journey as he searches for answers, learns more about the strange legacy his father left him, and the seeming limitless power of the Threestone. In this next installment of the Threestone Trilogy, G travels to new and unknown worlds where he finds the most exciting and unexpectedly dangerous adventures yet.
G is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. He is funny and full of flaws and I love it. His witty sarcasm and quick temper makes for a very entertaining internal monologue that will have you stopping to laugh out loud.
What can I say about this book? Wow. We plunge right into action. Epic movie-worthy scenes that will have you holding on. G really travels in this book. And the worlds! Ice world is by far my favorite, and I love how the author connects everything back to the first book. A lot of questions are answered, but there is still so much mystery behind the background of Gs family's past that all has not been revealed even by the end.
There are some shocking surprises in book 2. And I hesitate to say more because I do not want to give anything away. All I can say is the creativity behind this plot line is really impressive. Slowly but surely, Rivera is pulling back the curtain revealing the truth a little at a time, and bless G's heart he is so clueless. But he's trying, you have to give the guy credit. He's got heart even though he tends to screw everything up.
This sci-fi adventure combines multiple themes, and even doubles as an intriguing dystopian in certain parts. I could see this series appealing to many different types of readers including those into fantasy and sci-fi, but also many others. It is so unique and different. Offering an escape from the everyday. If you're in a reading slump, this series will pull you out quick. I can't wait to read the third after such a powerful ending, I am anxious to see where G will go next!
