This is actually two tales written in the early thirties. The first is called Lone Rider and it's about a guy who on the run takes a job as a foreman at a horse ranch. Only nobody else likes the idea since before the outlaws in the hills above it used it as their own horse ranch for years since the crew there was with them. Now he has the whole mess to fight, with an ally or two. Next is the second tale is a family feud tale. There was peace but the eldest brother of the one family is back for revenge and has the fight started again. Though he overplayed his hand by being too ruthless causing some division in his ranks.
Recommended, actually liked the second smaller tale more. The first one is fine but has some weak points. Probably closer to a 3.5 overall. Haycox is better with shorts than a longer format in my opinion.
