The Fox and The Hound

Rate this book
Jayla “Fox” McFadden 'MacGyvered' her way through college and right onto the radar of the CIA. Instead of getting busted, she got offered a job. She's a chemist by day, but moonlights on special missions utilizing her unique talents when needed, everything from bomb building to booby traps. She's fought tooth and black-polished nail to make her way in the world and prove she's more than a set of tits. From her thick, black eyeliner to her Doc Martens with leather mini-skirts, she stands out, and likes it that way.

Noah “Hound” Kendrick is the best tracker on his SEAL team. Haunted by the fact that he got his mother killed, he put his body, mind, and soul into the SEALs in retribution, trying to make the world a better place. They are his duty and family now, nothing gets in the way. Especially love, as he refuses to open up his heart and lose someone at his expense ever again.

Jayla's latest mission is to retrieve a list of buyers from an arms dealer. She's teamed with the SEALs who must take out a bunker hidden offshore near the dealer's private island. But a squall line from an impending hurricane throws off their plans as Jayla and Noah get separated from the team, washing up on a deserted air force base in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Now the Fox and the Hound must survive the elements and each other, as they ride out the physical and emotional storm heading their way.

An action-packed, sexy and captivating romance!

The Fox and the Hound is a well-written and captivating story. This story was amusing, romantic and full of drama. There is just enough action and romance to grab a hold and not let go. The characters are well developed and engaging. They are real, complicated and have flaws. I thought the way that Jayla and Noah connected along with the way that their story played out was creative and unique.

Wren Michaels has a talent and gift in creating an engaging and attention-grabbing story. I was completely hooked on this story from the very beginning. It was hard when I had to put the book down. I can’t wait to read more about the different characters in future books. This book was exhilarating and entertaining. Well done, Wren!

Wren Michaels did not disappoint! A remarkable read by a gifted and talented author. When I pick up a book by Wren, I know that I am getting an entertaining story that I will not want to end.

I received a copy of The Fox and The Hound from the author and this is my honest review left freely. I really enjoyed this story! Noah aka Hound is a Navy Seal. He meets Jayla aka Fox at a friend's barbeque. He's attracted but with his job relationships never work out. What Noah doesn't know is that Jayla isn't just a research scientist but she's also a CIA undercover operative until he is assigned to protect her. It's a great short story that will connect to the next book even though there is a partial ending. The only reason that I am not giving a 5 star review is because this is a part of the Kindle World saga. There are over 30 books interconnected. That's quite the financial investment.

I really enjoyed this book. It is my first read by this author but definitely will not be my last. . Jayla and Noah are awesome characters with painful pasts and dangerous jobs but no matter how hard they try they can't fight the draw to eachother ... Especially when they are put together on a mission that turns out to be much more difficult then originally planned... can't wait to read more about the Seals introduced in this book and to find out who is behind trying to kill Jayla...

Jayla is an undercover CIA agent. She is a fighter and a survivor. She can hold her own, even against a SEAL. Noah is a hot sexy SEAL. He is haunted by his past with no time for a relationship. When they find themselves on a mission together, the chemistry between them is explosive. Jayla has survived being poisoned, being shot at and even a hurricane. But can she survive the sexy SEAL?

Joint missions

Fast paced action and instant attraction between our hero and our heroine. Both are broken inside but when put together they offer healing to each other. They're mission was a bust, someone has betrayed our heroine, and together they might find out who.

A good addition

Written in the world of Susan Stoker. I loved that book. It's packed with action, sexy and emotion. Wren Michaels write a perfect addition to the Seal of protection serie.

Entertaining!

The characters are strong and smart with some quirk thrown in. The story is full of suspense and excitement and really keeps the pages turning. The bits of humor and the romance round it all out nicely.

Fox and the Hound perfect for each other.

This is a perfect addition to Stokers Kindle World. The chemistry was off the chart between the main characters. The story line was concise and yet complicated enough to entice the reader.

Jayla “Fox” McFadden works for the CIA - she is a chemist by day in a lab but goes on missions and utilises her unique talents when needed. Those talents could be bomb building, creating booby traps, or just stealing information. She has always fought tooth and nail to prove that she can do everything and that to assume she is "just a woman" is a bad idea and looks that way too wearing Doc Martens, leather mini skirts and thick black eyeliner. SEAL Noah “Hound” Kendrick is the best tracker on his team and after a tragic incident from his childhood is focussed on the SEALs being his family and duty now so lets nothing get in his way (including love) because he will not let anyone hurt him again. Jayla is on a mission to retrieve a list of buyers from an arms dealer and is teamed with the SEALs as they need to take out the bunker hidden offshore near the dealer's private island. A squall line from an impending hurricane throws off their plans and Jayla and Noah get separated from the team and so wash up on a deserted airforce base in the middle of the Pacific. Now the Fox and the Hound need to survive the physical elements and each other as they ride out the physical and emotional storm. Can they survive everything thrown at them?

I loved this story which was a great mixture of danger, drama and emotions as they managed to survive some very scary scenarios and the worked their way through a huge amount of emotional baggage from their childhoods. I loved their relationship and how is quickly developed from all the events and emotions that they both experienced together. I was thrilled when they found a way to have a proper kind of relationship and how the rest of the squad helped Hound to understand the emotions he was feeling after their return (so good to see those very strong men were also emotionally adults too). Contains explicit sexual content.

This is the first time I have read anything from Wren Michaels and when I first saw the teasers for this story, it immediately had me intrigued and when I started to read, I couldn't put it down, I just had to finish and I completely love this story. I couldn't help but fall in love with Jayla and Noah, the dialogue between them in fantastic.

And I love how detailed everything is down to the nicknames and what the Navy Seals are since I do not know a lot about them. It was great to learn about it throughout the story. And I did enjoy how the story progressed, the flow from scene to scene and how the characters progressed through their journey from admitting to their own personal demons to each of their own personal traits.

It's one heck of a read and I really can't wait to read more from Wren in the future and I would love to read more about Jayla and Noah in the future. The Fox and The Hound has become one of my favourite reads. It's sexy, it has has a lot of things in the story which kept me hooked to finish it and I can't wait to re-read it again because Wren has made it very addictive. 5/5 stars for me

Wren Michaels has done it again...Loved The Fox and The Hound!
You can help but fall in love with her characters... they always have great chemistry and are fun to "watch" as the book progresses. This book is no exception.... Jayla and Noah couldn't be two more different people but the attraction is undeniable... Jayla is a woman who can hold her own, and be her own person...from dinosaur tights to black and pink ponytails..you gotta love very part of her... and Noah being a SEAL ...very straight laced and career minded.
When these two get trapped on an island, the walls come down and they reveal their inner demons.
A very good read... I would love to see more of them in the future!

Fantastic! I haven’t been in the “military” style mood for a long time but this book reminded me exactly what I’ve been missing out on. The dynamic between both leads draws you in and makes you laugh and shake your head at the same time. At times, you want to strangle both because you know they are perfect for each other but at the same time you can easily identify with the emotions they are experiencing. The set up for the series continuation really tied up the story well but left enough of a trail that you just have to come back for the next round! You won’t want to put this one down.

I really liked The Fox and The Hound. Jayla is the h of the story and she is no damsel. She is tough, smart, beautiful and plays by her own rules. Noah aka Hound is a Navy Seal and falls head over the boat in love with Jayla aka Fox. They meet at Wolf and Caroline's house and then are thrown in a mission together. Sparks, bullets, lighting and love take over when they fight for survival. So If you haven't read anything from Special Forces Kindle Worlds I suggest giving The Fox and The Hound a try. Happy Reading

Fun, exciting, non-stop action and sexy beyond belief. The chemistry between Jayla and Noah was amazing and off the charts. Jayla is spunky, intelligent, independent and not afraid to face the danger of spy life. Noah is strong, smart, sexy and will do whatever it takes to save Jayla. This had me on the edge of my seat. I kept getting irritated when life made it a necessary to put the book down. And it was over WAY too soon!

Great start to a series

This book is so well written. I love how Ms Michael’s and Margret Madigan have written intertwining series. So interesting as the two parallel stories unfold and over lap. Definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down can’t wait to read Fox and Hound 2.

The Fox and The Hound, Wren Michaels
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5. Stars

Goodreads, Amazon and Book Addicts

Jayla 'Fox' and Noah 'Hound'. A chemist, who also works for the CIA and a sexy as sin Navy SEAL!! You know it's going to be scorching hot!!

Jayla and Noah have an instant attraction towards each other the moment they meet at a mutual friends party, yet due to a bad past and not sure if life with a SEAL is a good relationship, they know they'll never cross paths again... Or will they?

During a mission (WOW, this mission!), things get hairy, rocky, watery and by all means HOT HOT HOT! So when you come back from said mission and your back in reality and you make it work? Can Jayla get over Noah being a SEAL and gone on missions often? I guess, you'll have to read and find out!!

I loved this book and man is it steamy when the time is just right!

I received a copy of Special Forces: Fox and the Hound from the author Wren Michaels. And I am leaving an honest review.
This was the first book I've ever read from Wren Michaels, however it definitely won't be my last!
Jayla "Fox" McFadden has fought her way tooth and nail to make her way in this world. She is a chemist by day, however secretly she moonlights for the CIA.
Noah "Hound" Kendrick is a sexy as sin navy seal. After the death of his mother, (Noah blames himself for her death.) He joins the Seals and pours his whole self into it.
Oh my!!!! The chemistry that these two had. SMOKING HOT!!!
The sparks few from beginning to end. I love a story with instant lust at first sight.
The Fox and the Hound was a non stop thrill ride. And I LOVED every moment of it!!! I am rooting for Noah and Jayla. I can't wait to read more of their story!

Series

These standalone stories really aren’t. Yes they are but no they’re not. You need to read them in order to follow the ones that connect and have people going o and forth with their story. The story is really good but I’m ahead and behind n the series. Enjoy!

Cute

Jayla was funny. I loved her snarky attitude. It was a good continuation of Melinda’s story without being a “sequel”.

Review:
I expected a kick ass story about a Navy SEAL and a CIA officer. We got the SEAL and the CIA officer but the story fell flat.

What is this book about:
This story is about Noah and Jayla. Noah is a navy seal and Jayla is a CIA officer. They meet at a mutual friends barbeque and they where attracted to each other but they didnt left things on good terms.
They didn't expect to see each other again so soon, and definitely not in the circumstances they find themselves in. You see Noah (aka the hound ) and Layla (the fox) have to work together to bring down a weapon dealer.

What did I like/love:
I liked the idea of the story. The side characters where oke. And I liked Noah. But thats about it.

What did I dislike/hate:
I really didn't like Jayla. She was so extra and borderline rude. It felt like she was trying to hard and her actions came across as forced.
Her actions on the mission really made me think why anyone would think she would make a good officer. She made some really stupid decisions.
For someone that hated that people judged her or made assumptions, she did it herself a whole lot.

The story fell flat for me. I expected more from the book and sadly it didn't deliver.

Rating:
1 1/2 I didn't like it stars

Well, this story had tons of potential, but overall fell flat for me. I liked the idea (SEAL and CIA op doing a mission together), but the execution failed.

Noah is a SEAL and I liked him well enough. Liked that he had manners and was protective.
Jayla is where it all went wrong for me. She’s a CIA operative and the way she acted during a mission you’d think she was some civilian (and a really idiotic one at that for some of the stuff she pulled). She tried too hard to be tough.

All in all, the best thing about this book was that it was so short. Ends on a CLIFFY (basically). Def won’t be continuing the series.

Highly recommend!

This is a well written quick, but fully detailed story. This book of coarse contains the characters that are part of the original series, but these also go hand in hand with the three "Buck" stories that are part of this Kindle World. All these ladies have tied these events and characters together so well you will be happy to purchase and read them all. I certainly was!

Cliffhanger

This book was not as good as other books I have read. First all the h was supposed to be like a McGiver but she did nothing more than opened a locked door. Then at the very end it ended in a cliffhanger. I have to give serious thought to getting the rest of the series because if I do, then I will be committed to getting more cliffhanger.
