Letos, a notorious technomage, along with the other two members of the Triad must calm the people of Rodymia and prove that a new kind of government can work for a planet that has only known tyranny. As if that’s not challenging enough, into his life strolls Mirella, the enigmatic Bilarrian Ambassador. Letos wants her with an all-consuming passion, yet he senses deceit, and one wrong move at this point could reignite the fires of war. Mirella has lived her entire life in the shadow of others. She is sent to Rodymia under false pretenses, never expecting to encounter her mate. But once she sees Letos, inhales his scent and experiences his taste, her heart will accept no other outcome than bonding with the other half of her soul. She knows he wants her too, but can their budding affection survive her deception? Or will the secrets hidden in her past destroy any hope of peace between their worlds?
Passionate Sci-Fi with a touch of danger and a whole lot of sass.
Cyndi has written about rock stars, vampires, and cat shifters, but she's currently focused on outer space. Her stories are fun, fast-paced, and seriously hot. She has made the USA Today Top 100, and every book in the Outcasts series landed on Amazon's Top 100. She is currently working on Shadowborn Rebellion, a spin-off series set in the Outcasts universe.
I'm bummed. I am a total fan of Cyndi Friberg's Battle Born series, so I was excited to read Triad, which is Letos' story. Letos is a techno-mage, a Battle Born son who has been technologically augmented to mimic the magical abilities that are sadly lacking in Battle Born males. He's been a part of the series, and the struggle for freedom, since the first book. His role in the rebellion and his true loyalties have never fully been explored, and so I eagerly jumped into reading his story. I'm so disappointed. There's no character development here, no elaboration on his back story, no sense of his connection to any other member of the rebellion. This is just a quick and fairly typical SF/alien romance novella, with the emphasis on the sexy romance. Worse, the heroine, Mirella, is completely unremarkable, and there's no chemistry in the relationship between Letos and her. I read the book three weeks ago, but had to go back and skim it before I wrote this review - it's just that forgettable, and I'm as sad as can be about that. Letos, and the reader, deserved better.
This book was artfully crafted and uniquely designed to pull you into the pages where secrets and fairytales live and dreams come true for those who believe!
I've been collecting these delightful books to this phenomenal series for quite some time and I'm just now reading books 9-13. I'm also looking forward to more adventures from this amazing series! This book was enchanting, enthralling and endlessly entertaining! When you start reading about these characters, you will find yourself riveted and entertained by the twists and turns that the author has created for your reading pleasure!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Finally we get to see Letos meet his mate, I've been waiting for this for a while. A secondary character throughout much of the series, he has always captured my attention and now we get his story. I would suggest reading the books in order, even though each book contains an individual storyline, you really need to read the previous stories to get the back ground and an understanding. I can't wait for the next book to release and who it is that gets bitten by the mate bug.
Finally a strong female lead without her being annoyingly resistant. She is sweet and stubborn with no darkness in her. I really liked her. She has backbone. I have always liked Letos. A very strong man. He does not let Mirella get away. Loved it.
This is yet another Battle Born story that delivers much heat and intrigue. Mirella is much more than a sheltered princess. Her abilities are immense and a bit shocking. I highly recommend this book and the series as a whole.
