Ellie hopes to fix up the house left by her aenti and sell it quickly, but a series of run-ins with Ezra and his young daughter have her questioning whether a hasty sale is the right move. Home for Christmas is an amazing novella written by Ruth Reid and is one of four novellas in An Amish Christmas Love. I absolutely loved the storyline in this novella and it centers around an illness that I haven't read about before.
When Ellie Whetstone receives a letter informing her that she has inherited her late aunts home she points her RV north to locate it. Because of the way the houses are built on the property Ellie breaks into the wrong house. When the owner, an Amish man, comes thru the door things really get interesting. Ellie is a dog handler so she has her award winning dog with her. Ezra, the owner of the house, has a little daughter who suffers from seizures and they don't know the reason why. When Allison suffers a seizure after playing with the dog Ezra believes he has to keep his daughter away from his daughter. Is her seizures caused by the dog or is there another reason the dog has formed a Friendship with Allison. What happens between these two may shock you. I learned alot about seizures from this story. What will Ellie do with her new home? This is a fascinating story that will tug at your heartstrings.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the author, Ruth Reid. I was not approached in any way to post a favorable review. I have rated this book with five stars for a n absolutely amazing new storyline. I will be highly recommending this book to everyone especially those who love the Amish genre.
Congratulations to Ruth Reid on writing another outstanding story for her readers. I will be watching for Ruth's next book to be released.
This novella was sweet but I wish it had been a full book. That would have given the time needed for it to feel more plausible. As it is, the story and feelings felt very rushed. The ending was also abrupt. I loved the writing and was invested in the characters but it needed length to make it believable. Spoiler: It also made me so sad that for a “happy ending” to occur the poor doggy had to be permanently injured. I know it was required for the story, but it broke my heart!

Beautiful Novella by Ruth Reid. Main character, Ellie Whetstone, has a GPS mistake and her life becomes entwined in widower's Ezra Mast and his daughter Allison. I wish the last few chapters didn't have such a rush feel for me, but leading up to that, the book was a pleasant read. I wonder if this is the start of a series...
Ruth has mixed humor and love into this book. When a mix up and a dog cause problems things are not what they may seem. This story brought a mix of emotions and you will find out when you read this story
Once again I was honored to be part of Ruth Reid's street team for An Amish Christmas Love. Beth Wiseman, Amy Clipston, Ruth Reid, and Kelly Irvin do an outstanding joy of sharing a collection of wonderful, Christmas, wholesome, romances in a collection of four Novellas, Winter Kisses by Beth Wiseman, The Christmas Cat by Amy Clipston, Snow Angels by Kelly Irvin, and Home for Christmas by Ruth Reid. Beth brings us a story of strength and love by showing God's love thru our sadness. Amy shows us how God can use a cat and other people to remind us of a love shared. Kelly shares a story of a Christmas prayer and shows how our past can show up at the most unexpected times. Ruth does an outstanding job of sharing a story about how God can use a misguided GPS to show you a true love. Love how Ruth wove a story of love around a neighbor, an inherited house, and a sickly child. Ellie Whetstone thinks she is just going to fix up the house her aunt has left her, sell it and return to her life on the dog show circuit. Boy, was she mistaken! The GPS lands her at the wrong house. that of her neighbor, Ezra Mast and his precious daughter, Allison. We are shown how a slow, lasting friendship is developed because God wanted it that way and how a prayer can be answered even long after the one who prays it is gone. As usual, Ruth's love shows through her story. You will not be disappointed when you read An Amish Christmas Love. Read it now and read it again for Christmas.
