31 Prayers For My Future Husband: Preparing My Heart For Marriage By Praying For Him

Rate this book
Marriage is one of the greatest gifts God ever created for mankind, besides His son Jesus. In the Garden of Eden, God said that it was not good that man was alone, so He created Eve out of Adam's side (Genesis 2). Desiring a counterpart and oneness with another person is built into the deepest and oldest parts of our human nature. God also tells us in His Word to present all of our requests to Him (Philippians 4:6). We want to encourage you and your desire for marriage by urging you to pray for your heart and the heart of your future spouse.

31 Prayers For My Future Husband was written for single women who desire the intimacy of marriage, women currently in a serious relationship, and women who are engaged planning for their special day! This is a great resource to help teenagers purpose their hearts for what God has for their future marriage or anyone else who feels strongly about getting married and cares for the heart of their future spouse.

As you seek God's will for you and your future husband, as you patiently prepare for your wedding day, we challenge you to begin to be the prayer warrior that God desires you to be. This book has been written to be a starting place and/or guide to help you begin your lifelong journey of praying for your future husband and marriage. You don't need to wait until after you're married to start praying for him. Start today.

4.5 stars!

I so appreciate Aaron and Jennifer Smith putting out these collections of prayers! 31 Prayers for my Future Husband was such a sweet journey for me. I love committing my desire for marriage to the Lord and lifting up my future husband in prayer. These specific prayers are wonderful...moving me to pray for things I might not have thought about before.

So yes, this book is a great tool to help young women cultivate a prayerful heart for their future husband...that will hopefully transfer to STILL praying daily for their husband once they are married! You don't have to pray all the prayers exactly, of course. Feel free to add or take away. This book isn't the book of the perfect prayers. But they're definitely helpful and I enjoyed going through them. Beautiful idea!

Prayer is powerful. I think it's a very important thing for women (and men) to be praying for their future spouse...if they have a desire for marriage. Imagine the impact your heartfelt, specific prayers will have the life of your future spouse!

Edit - **So good I had to read it a second time. I normally don't re-read books but this book I felt compelled to read it again. I feel like this book was written just for me the author knew exactly what I wanted to say to God about myself and my future husband.**
Reading this book was the highlight of my day, these prayers are not just things I want for my future husband they are things I needed to pray into my life. Although I don't think it was the intention of the author this book made me realize I need to work on me so that I could be the wife deserving of the man that posseses the qualities I'm praying for.

31 Prayers for My Future Husband is a beautiful book. I fell in love with it from prayer one. It felt so powerful that I had to share with someone who decided to read along with me. We were both instantly a little stumped, like, “What else is there to pray for?” The answer is: So much more!
Every day there's a new prayer with a different Bible verse. It's filled with things I might rarely think to pray for my future husband, or things I might never think of. With the blank lined pages, if I think of even more things, I can write them down. The challenges are powerful tools too!
This book is a must-read if you're looking for a God-centered man. It's a good way to focus your attention on praying with God about not only a future husband, but I found myself asking for some of the things I needed out of the prayers, too. This book is great for a little guided prayer. I finished and immediately started reading again. I just might keep doing so!

I love praying for people in general, so when I found this book I didn't hesitate to read/ pray it.

This book gives structure and consistency to the prayers. It encourages a young woman to pray for important characteristics that are needed in one's husband like wisdom, confidence, purity, kindness, humility, integrity, righteousness, self-control, hard-work and leadership. Most of which really do require prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit.

It honestly led me to self-reflection; if I would like my future husband to be that awesome then I need to hold the same standards for myself & grow to be the best wife for him. So automatically the prayers turned my attention to asking God for help to grow in great qualities.

Good book, I'll probably include it in my prayers again.

This prayer collection is heartfelt, genuine, and introspective. This couple understands where our priorities should lie, as well as the dangers around us that we must guard our hearts against. I love the lined pages for personalization, specific focus that applies to your desires. The challenges are enlightening and fun. I would consider checking into other books by this author. This was just as much about preparing my heart for my future husband as it was about praying over him and our future relationship.

These prayers were wonderfully written. So much so, that as I prayed them I was hoping someone out there is praying the same prayers for me. A true gift of a book.

Book 91 31 Prayers for my future husband by Jennifer Smith
No new titles or authors
Rating 5/5
Summary: This is a book to pray for your future husband. It is also a way to go deeper into prayer, your relationship with God, and more.

What I thought of it: This book is a good way to prepare your heart for marriage. It challenges you to think about marriage in the way God sees its, not the world. It also encourages you to spend time in prayer, time with God, and time thinking about your future husband (even when your single). When I was younger, I used to think most guys I met and dated for a month were my soul mate. Even though we didnt get along well and didnt have that spark. Those relationships were also superfical and a little shallow. I am thankful that God put it in their hearts or mine to end it. Why? Because they were not the ones I was suppose to marry. My fiancee is. We get along so well. We fit so well together. Not only that, but when I told him I wanted to read 31 prayers with him ( he is working on the wife verson) he was open to it. We spend time together in prayer and he encourages me to grow my relationship with God. That is how I know its diffent and more meangiful. We are inversted in eachother for the long haul. We turn to God when times get tough. But more than that, God and my fianccee inspire me to be the best version I am of myself despite my flaws and my sin. I never did that with anyone else before. That is how I know.

Praying for my future husband is something I've been doing since I began praying again nearly a year ago. I found that I personally was struggling with HOW to pray for him. I knew to pray for his health and his happiness...but what else should I pray for? Finally, for Christmas my sister got me this book and it instantly changed my perspective on praying for my future husband. Not only does it provide detailed prayers for your future husband, but also provides an area, after each prayer, to write your own notes or add on the prayer. Even though I've prayed through all the prayers in this book, I plan to continue praying through all these prayers until my husband (currently non-existent, lol) and I are married. I've also been writing the date at the top of each prayer, so my future husband can see how much I prayed for him before we were together. I encourage every unmarried woman out there to get this book, you won't regret.

This book was surprisingly good. I've had it for a while and actually purchased it to give it away. I decided to read it myself, since I needed a quick read to build my book count for this year. One of the things I like about this book is that the prayers are specific, yet universal. You don't have to know who your husband is to pray these prayers, which is the way most books like this are organized. You have to say the person's name in the prayers. Not this book. The name is Future Husband, in the Name of Jesus. In some cases, like mine, God is the Only One who knows who that is. Future Wives can read this book to pray for their husband. Future Husbands can read this book and pray for themselves. It really is a good foundational book.

A great way to pray for your future husband. Costen and I used these books as a countdown to our wedding as a way to keep focused on the most important.

haha yub, i know what u're probably rolling your eyes :')

For the past month, I have been practicing praying for my future husband ><
and let me tell u it's the best decision ever!! 💌

i think i come to this with a different intention...
it's less about demanding for what a future husband has to have but more about trusting in the LORD and coming to Him in times of difficulties and opening my heart to His Plan.
Yes, this had been veri healing for my journey — tbh feeling a bit emotional as the season is coming to an end. 🕯️🍂💓

ps/: YOU SHOULD TRY IT TOO!
this is a perfect prayer prompt to have on your praying journey (in general)

I picked this book up originally thinking it was.. well.... a book. While he’s, it’s a book smarty pants.😉 It actually a list of 31 prayers you can pray for your future husband. While I wish it would have been a book and elaborated more, I really did enjoy it.

This book helped me expand my prayers and be more personal while I pray for my future husband. It also open the fire to learning about praying for my future marriage, which I absolutely loved.

So if you’re a single gal (or engaged!) I highly suggest picking this book up!💗 If you’re like me, you sometimes struggle to relent that God’s timing to meet Mr. Right is perfect, I feel like this book helped put me back I. The right mindset.

I recommend this book for all ages: teens, pre teens, adults, and older people. All the ages!

My rating is more like a 3.5 because I really, really wished it were a book, but since it helped learn and realize some things, I’ll give it four stars.😉

Really thorough and beautifully written prayers. Not like a lot of the “fluff” prayer books out there for marriage.

31 Prayers for my Future Husband was such an amazing blessing to me. I have been praying for my husband since I was 18 years old; I am now 28, soon to be 29, and I am still praying for that special man that God has for me.

A sweet single friend of mine gave me this book for Christmas last year, and I was so excited to start this challenge of praying for him for 31 days. I started posting my prayers on Facebook, and a few other single ladies joined in! It was awesome to see the comments people were making, saying how they were encouraged to see this and pray for their own godly guys.

What this book helped me look at was not only praying for my future husband and our future wedding day, but to also pray for our future marriage to one another. I loved the specific prayers we had every day, and there is also a place for your to write your own individual prayers for your future hubby as well.

This book is so special to me, and such an encouragement during this season of waiting. I look forward to the day when I get to give my future husband this book, filled with my prayers for him.

I read this thing sssllooowwlllyyy. That wasn't my original intention but I was able to track my progress of "just how ready am i" with each prayer I read. I read about 1 every 2 weeks, but it happened it spurts. I wasn't in a rush.
And it turns out I really liked this book. Though I didn't agree with every single prayer, it definitely helped center my mind around what a marriage really means. Oneness. It's still a scary thing to me when I've tried so hard to be on my own and be my own person. I think if someone was able to follow every one of these prayers, they would have the perfect marriage. It lists out what everyone should strive for in a marriage and in a relationship with God. Its given me a very good idea of just how "ready" I am for such a commitment.
I highly recommend this book for all the single ladies out there.

This book was so enjoyable to go through. I was impacted greatly and in unexpected ways. Even though I was praying for my future husband in everyway- I focused on him, thought of him, was in earnest for him and yet....this book ended up changing me. I did not expect that. I was expecting to feel more for God to change him. Of course I want my future husband to be all those things in the book, however, it impressed upon me the need to be the right person for him, as well. It made me better to pray for him. Was that the intention? I'm not sure, but it was a thing. I'm thankful for it. Maybe for my future husband, when the time comes- I will indeed be ready and hopefully, he will be ready, as well.

I started praying through this book shortly after God revealed my heart in desiring marriage. (Thanks Lynsay!). This sentence from the cover page summarizes it well! - "Preparing my heart for marriage by praying for him." There are things in here that I had never before thought of, much less thought to pray about. There are challenges throughout and blank pages to write your own prayers. I definitely recommend getting a copy! There is a copy for the guys too called 31 Prayers for my Future Wife!

I truly enjoyed this book and I believe it is one of those you would want to read over and over because the prayers are very detailed and beautiful! There is also space for you to write your own prayers!

It helps you think about aspects of your “special one” that you might not have thought of. While reading this book, I also listened to the authors’ podcast which gave me enough background about them as a couple to understand fully what they wrote in these prayers. Highly recommend doing both: reading and listening to them. Not at the same time of course.

I’d recommend this book to any woman, whether single or dating (who desires to be married). I truly enjoyed this book, as I was able to pray for my future husband, wherever he may be. No matter who God has for me, I am confident about him as an individual and our marriage because He’s covered in prayer 🙏🏽 These 31 prayers were written so beautifully and I can hold on to these until I say “I do” at the altar.

I purchased this book after engagement. I feel it’s more appropriate for singles preparing their heart for marriage and praying for their partner. It is still applicable if you are presently with your future husband, some of the wording is just off if so. Still a great read for praying for your future spouse!

Fantastic Prayer Resource

What better way to prepare for marriage than to bring it before the throne of the author of marriage. I love how the author guided the prayers, leading you to pray for aspects that may not come across your mind while single. Beautiful & heartfelt - provides a Haas mindset while praying for your future spouse.

3 stars ("I liked it")
True to its title, this book is literally made up of 31 prayers. Each prayer is centered on a specific topic and is a single page, followed by pages for prayer journaling. It's a useful book for someone wanting to pray for their future husband beyond general "God, help him" prayers. As many reviewers have noted, it's also useful for praying for one's own growth.
