This book felt like lit was preaching to the choir. There wasn't anything really new or amazing that had me wanting to try out the suggestions given. Adolescence is so difficult I am beyond happy never to go though it again but as a mother with 4 kids one who is turning 12 I am leaving I get to relive it all over again but this time as a spectator. The book fell flat and I think there are other out there that explain and have better suggestions.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.
while I did like the book, I felt like this was something that I should be doing with the child in question. There seemed to be lots of information that would be helpful to the kid going through these changes. I felt the title "help your kids" would be more inline with answers for me and while again not a bad book just not what I was looking for at this time.
great book that let's kids read at their own pace, look things up if they have questions and helps 'start the conversation' about certain things. my kids will tell me from time to time that they have looked for something in there when they are curious.
This book was so helpful, I wish I found it sooner and could have applied it to all four of my kids. I think the book can also be a great conversation starter to help you talk through the topics with your kids.
