This book tells the simple story of a pine cone turning into a pine tree. Readers learn about the female and male pinecones, pollen, and what pine seeds look like, how they spread, and finally grow. Filled with big bright photographs.

I have one teacher who will check out plant start to finish books and she always wants the apple tree and the sunflower. Students won’t check these out on their own. If you have a need in your library this is a nice book and if you had enough from the series, young students could work with partners to do small drawing “research” project. Best for K-2
