Kyla Denster and Jordan Brougham are passionately in love. Kyla knows she's lucky to have a guy who uses all his tricks to keep her happy in and out of bed. Jordan knows he's lucky to have such a hot, adventurous girlfriend.

But neither of them knows that their best friend, Cassie DeSantis, wants them both. Cassie's painful past has taught her not to wear her heart on her sleeve. She keeps quiet, afraid that revealing her feelings would mean losing the two people she cares for most. Things change one night when an impulsive kiss leads to the three of them spending an incredibly hot night together.

When the couple wants more of Cassie, problems arise from disapproving family and Cassie's inability to lower her guard. Their triad relationship will only survive if they all stand together to prove that three is the perfect number—when all three are in love.

His, Hers and Hers is by Nona Raines, a new to me author. This is a story about three people, all with very different back grounds, all with their own obstacles to overcome, who find something special with each other.

three hearts:

Cassie DeSantis was abandoned at a very young age by her drug addict parents. After the death of her grandmother, she went into the system, moving from foster home to foster home. She has learned the hard way to never get attached. To keep the walls up around her heart to protect herself. Cassie is openly bi-sexual. She is best friends with a committed couple, Jordan Brougham and Kyla Denster. Cassie has been secretly harboring a huge crush on both Jordan and Kyla. But they have been together and in love for four years. And if she let them know how she felt, she could lose them as friends. So she will keep it to herself, just like she always does.

two women one man:

Kyla is madly in love with her boyfriend, Jordan. But no matter how much she loves him, she won’t marry him. Kyla grew up in an abusive home, where her father and then step-father abused her mother. Kyla will never give another man that type of power. Kyla calls herself bi-curious.

Jordan grew up in a traditional family but he never quite lives up to his parents expectations. They don’t like his job and they don’t like his girlfriend. They don’t hesitate to let their opinions known.

When Cassie is going on a blind date, Jordan feels a strange protectiveness over her, and jealousy. She’s their friend. He has no idea where these feelings are coming from. But when the date doesn’t work out, he’s relieved. Then, one kiss changes everything. He, Kyla and Cassie crossed a bridge that can’t be uncrossed. Their friendship is forever changed. Now the question is, where do they go from here? Not only do they each have to battle their own inner demons, they would be challenging society’s rules by being together.

two women one man:

Firstly, the timing of reading this was perfect. It spans over Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is my first F/F/M menage and I wondered if I would enjoy it. I did. The author did a great job with the sexy scenes. They were super steamy. I fell a little short with the emotional connection with the characters. That one is probably on me. I liked them all but didn’t feel the warm and fuzzies I like to feel. Still, this was a sweet story of three people that found something special together. But will what they share be strong enough to overcome all the obstacles they will encounter? You’ll have to pick this one up to find out!

4 1/2 big beautiful stars

What a beautifully written story. It contains all the elements a good ménage story should have. The characters were wonderfully drawn so I got to know and care about them very early on.

The sex was hot but of course not without the angst that comes with a couple allowing another person into their bedroom and relationship. The three had to deal with other peoples biased and all did so in different ways. I loved the scene when Cassie put Jordan’s mother in her place, boy did her words pack a punch!

I really liked the secondary character Walter and would have liked to learn more of his fate, as much as he played a pivotal part I realise it wasn’t his story.

A must read for anyone who enjoys MFF ménage stories.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read an f/f/m romance/erotica. They aren’t that common, although there are lots more than when I first started reading them. So when some twitter friends linked it I thought it would be fun to read it.

Generally, I would say this is a decent read. However, it didn’t really spark anything in me that made it stand out; I’ve read better and worse. The issue for me in this story is what I’d say are poorly written sex scenes and a sense that while the characters get a happy ending, I wasn’t feeling it as deeply as I think I should have for an HEA/HFN.

Actually, if I start breaking it down, there are many things. One is that I felt there was a lot of tell instead of show in what’s going on with both Cassie and Kyla as far as being attracted to women goes. In the beginning, we get glimpses into Cassie noticing things about Kyla from a sexual standpoint, but not from Kyla’s. They have been friends for a long time already and this hasn’t come up before? Kyla seems to be open to the idea of being with Cassie only as an afterthought from her and Jordan talking about some sexual fantasies, not because she already had an inherent sexual attraction to Cassie on her own. Or that wasn’t really expressed. Maybe if there was more about Cassie being attracted to Kyla all that time and vice versa, it would have come off as more believable to me.

Also, even though they’ve been good friends for a long time, Kyla, unlike Jordan, seems so out of touch with who Cassie is, setting her up on a date with a total loser and not even once picking up the signals that Cassie is bored out of her skull with this guy. Whereas Jordan is just jealous and gets right away what a douche that guy is.

Then there was Kyla’s easily getting it on with Cassie as if they were doing that all along, which came across more as “whatever, I’m game” and not, “I totally want you.” At some point though, it almost seems like she and Cassie become more connected than Kyla is to Jordan due to Jordan being a dick. But at the same time we are constantly reminded of the fact that Jordan is the love of Kyla’s life and she would do nothing to jeopardize her relationship with him. That puts Cassie on the outside because right there in the interim of them coming together, one person is more important if push comes to shove.

I didn’t like Jordan. He’s cowers to his family who get on his case for being the only blue collar, unmarried kid. He doesn’t really stand up for Kyla even though clearly his parents don’t like her and never have. Forget about that he hides their threesome as well. And I felt he was a bit sleazy by the way the sex scenes were written.

For instance, in some scenes he almost seems to ignore Kyla as he gets it on with Cassie. It felt like Kyla was excluded although not specifically written as such. I didn’t get that she wasn’t bothered on some level. It would be a normal reaction even if she was into the three of them being together. Here they have a really tight relationship and she agrees to bring Cassie into it but Jordan seems to be more about “oh yeah who wouldn’t want two women” even though the author tries hard to make them all inclusive. I don’t know, he rubbed me the wrong way.

The relationship issues. I would think that a solid couple bringing in third person would create some issues no matter how close they all are. However, the issues these three face are all about Jordan’s family and their influence on him and ultimately Kyla and Cassie as well. Only Cassie has some issues because she is coming into a solid relationship and there is some fear of being a third wheel. Therefore, even though they all end up together, I didn’t feel them to be a gelled unit since there wasn’t much about them together other than having sex and having been friends all along.

The best part of this book was the transient character Walter whom Cassie helps often. I got more of a feel for him than the others and wanted to know where that went. There was also a lot more warmth and emotion injected into those interactions between Cassie and Walter than what I felt for Cassie, Jordan and Kyla’s interactions.

Still though, I would recommend this book only because it is the rare HFN f/f/m ménage and it did have lighter, fun moments to it that kept me reading. And some of the sex, even if kind of funky, was pretty hot.

Heat Level: 4-5- fairly graphically written f/f/m sex scenes.

Look here! An elusive f/f/m romance! I hunted it down and caught it in the wilds of Amazon.com.

His and Hers is more of a long novella (38k), and a little expensive at $6, but I've been disappointed by free and cheap ebooks. I liked the sample, and this kind of romance (w/HEA) is so hard to find. I'm willing to pay a higher price for it.

Cassie is set up on a blind date by her bffs Kyla and Jordan. While Kyla helps her get ready, Cassie fantasizes about kissing her and Jordan. She lusts after both, but values their friendship and doesn't want to intrude on them as a couple.

The date is a disaster and Cassie goes home, depressed. Kyla and Jordan come over to comfort her. In a tipsy, vulnerable moment, Cassie gives Kyla a kiss. To Jordan's delight, the women start making out. This turns into a hasty threesome.

Despite the smutty cover, the sex isn't the main focus. The few love scenes are rushed and awkwardly written. Some of it is on purpose. The women bump heads like the characters in Megan Hart's Dirty. Most is just poor execution. Jordan and Kyla call each other "baby" and "babe" (annoying). They ask permission to do minor kissing and touching, but Jordan penetrates Cassie without any discussion. I would think he'd need the okay from both women before attempting that particular act!

The next day, all three worry about the repercussions of their hookup. They care about each other but are afraid to admit it. They have family issues as well. Many pages are devoted to Jordan and Kyla working out personal problems, not working on their relationship. It kind of reminded me of a Lauren Dane book. While I appreciate the attempt to create a meaningful story with well-rounded, sympathetic characters, I wanted the three of them to spend more time together, in and out of the bedroom.

I will definitely try this author again.

Menages are not easy. Neither is living in sin when a family expects a long term relationship to grow into a marriage. Ms. Raines pens a rather melancholy look at marriage. While the focus isn't supposed to be on heterosexual relationships, the main point I took away from this book is that marriage is a death keel and bad.

There are three marriages in here which are atrocious. One is a man cheating on his wife yet behaving in a jealous hypocritical manner. Another is a man trapped in a marriage because he married his knocked up girlfriend who "suddenly" miscarries after they are wed. Lastly, there is a marriage where the husband is abusive and sends his victim enabling wife into the hospital. Does Ms. Raines hate men or hetero marriages? Her mockery of this is no different than heteros deriding alternative relationships. It's distracting from her menage. I would have enjoyed it better with this just focused on Kyla, Jordan and Cassie's smexy menage.

Instead of reading about a new triad coming into being, I'm being dragged down by hateful noise. Disappointing. The amount of insecurity and dysfunctional drama in most of the characters is definitely a downer too. Kyla and Cassie aren't good enough for Jordan. Based on their issues, they will ultimately drag him down.

When I saw the cover of this book, I was certain that contained within the pages would be graphically detailed ménage scenes. What I found instead was quite beautiful and very well written. This was my first experience with a f/f/m romance, and it most certainly will not be my last! The author has created a scenario that is believable with characters that most readers can relate to. The romance that unfolds between the three best friends of Cassie, Kyla and Jordan IS incredibly steamy, but touching at the same time. Taking readers on an emotional journey, this true erotic romance leaves us with the hope that the three of them can overcome all of the obstacles and find their happily ever after.

His and Hers by Alice Feeney
As I read it
By Nguyen Xuan
Blackdown, less than three hours from London, was an English “sleepy variety of town … shrouded in a cloak of middle-class manners and conformity.”
Yet three women in their mid-thirties were murdered in the space of four days.
The first one to die was Rachel Hopkins who ran (and regularly stole money from) a homeless charity, the second was Helen Wang, the headmistress of St Hilary’s High School for Girls, and the third, Zoe Harper, a self-supporting single mother of a two-year-old girl baby.
Investigation was made delicate not only by the fact that one of the victims, Zoe, was the daughter of Detective Chief Inspector Jack Harper, who was charged of it, but also by the link between Inspector Harper and another victim, Rachel, who had lately become his occasional mistress.
By coincidence, another former student of St Hilary’s, Anna Andrews, a BBC reporter, who was charged with covering the crimes, had been his wife until they divorced two years earlier after they lost their newborn child to sudden infant death. Last but not least, Anna and Rachel had been close friends at St Hilary where she had been introduced by Rachel to sexual play between girls. On Anna’s sixteenth birthday, Rachel went so far as to make the girls, including Anna, take drugs and have sex with adult men while she took pictures that she sold in local pubs and used for blackmail.
Anna was no happy at school. Mrs. Andrews, a charwoman, was at times unable to pay the school fees. Nor was she a faithful wife, she once had an affair with a BBC camaraman, who still was her cameraman.
The outcome of the investigation was as swift as it was astonishing after the well-known presenter of the BBC mid-day news Cat Jones was shot dead near her deceased parents’ old house by Inspector Harper’s deputy, Sergeant Priya Patel, while the famed journalist was raising a kitchen knife, poised to stab Anna.
It was determined that Mrs. Cat Jones was none other than the girl who prematurely lest St Hilary’s, Catherine Kelly, as a result of being poked fun of and ruthlessly harassed by the other girls - she was married to Richard Jones, Anna’ cameraman. Her background and whereabouts had been successfully searched by Sargent Patel who also found her at het parents’s house.
It was also determined that Cat Jones murdered all three women to avenge the sufferings they inflicted on her at St Hilary’s. Only one mystery lingered on: the knife she hold could not be found even though only three persons were present at the scene: Anna, her mother, and Sergeant Patel.
The police was wrong.
Never had Catherine intended to avenge on anyone, let alone Anna since they had been the only genuine friends in their class. Despite appearances, her ultimate gesture was an act of self-defense, the improbable result of an unlikely combination of Mrs. Andrews Machiavellian scheme, Inspector Harper and Sergeant Patel’s often contrasted performances, and the mind-boggling relationships between Catherine, her husband, and Anna, plus the surprising fact that Anna did not know until the last minute that her cameraman was married to Cat Jones nor that Cat Jones had been her friend Catherine.
That was how Mrs. Andrews eventually got what she wanted: having Cat Jones killed - and Anna take over her job - and pinning all the murders on her. (She had also killed her husband - and the cameraman - but by necessity.) She had cleaned half the village for over twenty years and she had all the keys.
Things being what they were, she got away with the murders. She moved to a comfortable house in a nice retirement village thanks to Anna and Jack who took over Cat Jones’s young children while Anna took over Cat Jones position at the BBC. Mrs. Andrews also had her beloved bees and their hives transported to her new place and no one seemed to take notice of the kitchen knife she hid in one of the hives.

this whole "polyamorous" book feels like it's the main couple plus one not like a true throuple. Jordan and Kyla always looked for each other's love, caring, touch, etc. but OH! I FORGOT Cassie was there too, let's take care of her when we were playing with each other for 5 entire minutes ;-; I could've handled it if it would’ve more chapters and a story to develop still, but it doesn’t.

The start's okay, a girl who's in love with her two BFFs who are a couple, and the couple trying to figure out how to deal with this new situation but then the book does everything wrong and missed a lot of chances for developing its characters and the main plot.

Walter's storyline makes me cry and was way more interesting than the last 5 chapters together, bruh.

I like it but not enough to be memorable in my mind and heart.

Thank you, Ms Raines, for writing a FFM erotic romance. There's a ton of MMF stories out there, but surprisingly few FFM and it's definitely something that interests me. So it was a real treat to read this one. It's sexy and romantic, as well as dealing with the issues that come with the whole menage deal. My only crit is that it screams 'self-published'. It's just lacking a bit of the polish that comes with a good editor. Not that it's full of grammatical errors or anything annoying like that, just... it's hard to put my finger on exactly what it is, just that I feel a professional content editor would have been able to tighten things up a little and add some shine. Still, there was nothing to stop me from enjoying the story and the characters.

It left me feeling empty.

First of all I would not call this book a serious FFM erotica because the love scenes were too repetitive and kept in the romance genre. I don't want to write any spoilers so I will try to be vague. The reason for my rating was due to the romance aspect. The story always felt cold. Love cannot exist if you are an afterthought.

This book was so hot, there is not enough FFM smut in the world today, in my opinion.

Anyway, Cassie is attracted to Jordan and Ky, but they are in a long-term relationship with each other. One day things go beyond friendship and soon they are discussing long-term for the three of them. But, Cassie has a lot of baggage to unpack before she can truly open her heart to them.

I'm a fan of Nona Raines! Last year, I read His Kind of Woman and Her Kind of Man, and I loved both stories. I thought Ms. Raines captured a transgender character just right. I was eager to read more of her work so when I saw His Hers and Hers on NetGalley, I couldn't wait to grab it.

I wasn't disappointed. I was indeed entertained, but His Hers and Hers didn't grab me like Ms. Raines' previous work. I did, however, enjoy the fact that I was sucked into a story that was essentially erotica with a plot.

Kyla and Jordan are a couple who've been dating about four years. Their friend Cassie is single. Cassie is openly bisexual. Kyla is curious, but she's never voiced her interest in women out loud. There's always been an attraction underlying between all three parties but being that Jordan and Kyla have been in a long term relationship, Cassie wasn't looking to be a "homewrecker." Well, after a bad date and a night of too many drinks, Cassie makes a move on Kyla, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I enjoyed the conflict aspect. That's what gave the story meat IMO. Jordan's parents and Kyla's skepticism about entering a poly arrangement was absolutely perfect. Good writing overall and Ms. Raines definitely retains me as a fan. Looking forward to her next release.

NetGalley Review

I keep an eye out for menage books, cause it's quite often the only way I can read something even tangentially poly.

This book is written very much from the point of view of a couple who are incredibly monogamous and just happen to fall for the same friend, Cassie. They kinda treat her like dicks after sleeping with her the first time, but that's acknowledged in the book and both Kyla and Jordan do attempt to make amends, so I suppose that's all right.

The bigger problem I had with this novel was that there was no plot. There was a sort of attempt at a plot with both Jordan and Kyla's families in different ways. Jordan's family is hypocritical and look down on him for both his job choice and then later his relationship choice. The biggest thing that happens in this book plotwise is that he stands up to them for both Kyla and Cassie. It's interesting because he didn't do that for the four years he was with Kyla before the book, but did as soon as Cassie came into their relationship.

The writing was okay and the sex scenes were well enough written. The story wasn't incredibly long so there's not a lot to review.

I wanna be able to rate parts of books, anyone who has followed my reviews knows that. But this book, which started out as 5 stars for me, was up and down. I debated a 4, but I just can't for the parts I didn't like.

Establishing the triad ~ The actual sexual / love parts were good, when they told the truth and talked through things, which of course it took most of the book to do. 5 stars for the sex/love, 3 stars for running away and not talking things out and being a, in their words, chickenshit.

The characters ~ The characters were ok, not enough of a book to really get them established, but they had their own personalities, quirks, issues and so on. 4 stars, when they aren't being chickenshits, which they all were at various times.

his family ~ 1 star ~ didn't need that drama. The assholes!
her family ~ 2 stars ~ ditto
her lack of family ~ 3 stars ~ it make her standup for herself, so that was good

I liked Ky the most and related to her the most, even though my "family" was/is more like his than hers. I liked that she wasn't afraid to speak her mind, even if that does mean she was bitchy about it at times. She was the most honest and I respect that.

It was a good, not great, book. I wanted more emotional love starting stuff, and less needless drama. But it was an entertaining way to spend the afternoon.

An ARC from netgalley for an honest review.

Not a bad read. The characters were interesting and so was the storyline. A good book to read when you searching for something different.

description from back of book.

And as always Happy Reading!!!:)

First, let me say that this book is so sizzling hot, that I could not sit still while I was reading it. Second, this is a wonderful story. It is an FFM Menage Romance, so if this offends you, please do not read. If you like to read Menages, or not sure, I highly recommend this book. Nona Raines always does such a good job making her books very realistic, and she does the same here too. When you read this book, you feel like you really get to know Cassie, Kyla, and Jordan. You know what they are feeling, which is a big part of this book. I voluntarily reviewed this advanced copy, and I loved it, so I highly recommend it.

The author has written a very good take on the FFM genre. The book begins with some necessary backstory and then she gets right to it. She builds the tension of will they or won't they quickly and then sets up a very hot scene. You can really picture the scene and understand how each character is reacting. The author also tackles the realities of dealing with the real world and an unique relationship. The book was definitely over too soon. Really great addition to the author's other books.

Very good romance menage, characters were lovable and realistic, plot was solid and well written, I could see this being someone's story as the scenario is a typical relationship not all rainbows and fluffy bunnies, some solid believable drama, very enjoyable read.
This book had a good balance between love, drama and steamy sex. If you enjoy a good MFF menage I think you will enjoy this book.

Having read the first version of this story when it first released back in 2012, I couldn’t wait to read the rewrite and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed revisiting an old favorite.

Full review to come but this was a great F/F/M menage. I just didn't like the way one of the characters acted and it detracted from the story for me. But, this really is a gem. It's hard to find good F/F/M stuff.
