Dark Warrior's Destiny

Rate this book
The new ghost in Nathalie's head remembers who he was in life, providing Andrew and her with indisputable proof that he is real and not a figment of her imagination.
Convinced that she is a Dormant, Andrew decides to go forward with his transition immediately after the rescue mission at the Doomers' HQ.
Fearing for his life, Nathalie pleads with him to reconsider. She'd rather spend the rest of her mortal days with Andrew than risk what they have for the fickle promise of immortality.
While the clan gets ready for battle, Carol gets help from an unlikely ally. Sebastian's second-in-command can no longer ignore the torment she suffers at the hands of his commander and offers to help her, but only if she agrees to his terms.

DARK WARRIOR: Legacy – Destiny – Promise – Mine
BY I.T. Lucas

Series Summary:
From the beginning of time there have been near immortal beings who have molded humanity, been the object of worship but who as a race almost destroyed each other and human civilization.
Now only two Gods are left both sworn enemies:
The followers of Morta, the Doomers and the descendants of the Goddess Annani.

The Dark Warrior novels are Andrew and Nathalie’s story. We’ve met Andrew, Syssi’s brother, in previous novels and Nathalie is a new player, she’s the result of a hookup between the immortal Bathian and her mother more than 30 years ago. In this set of books we get to meet new immortals that will become intricate to the tales and hints about what’s to come. Including a frantic search for Nathalie’s mother.
The series continues to impress in regards to its uniqueness, inventive characters and exciting situations. The chemistry between Andrew and Nathalie is off the charts their story is captivating and the love scenes are R rated scorching. The dialogue is dark and there are harrowing rescues, battles with the clan’s mortal enemy and plenty of side stories. It’s the humor and sizzling sexcapades that gives this often dark plotted storyline relief. Reading this series in order is a must.
The audible edition is once again left to the very capable voice of Charles Lawrence who handles all the voices but he’s especially great at the immortal males who he gives an extra special deep inflection but he’s also good with the female voices.
SUMMARY:
Andrew has been thrown into the unbelievable world that his sister Syssi, who’s now an immortal, introduced him to. He’s learned he’s a dormant immortal and can be turned but there is a danger because he’s older than most of the males who turn. As a FBI agent he’s also been helping Kian his sister’s husband and leader of the Immortal clan finding and eliminating their enemies The Doomers. When Bathian another immortal and Andrew’s friend asks him to help him find a mortal woman he got pregnant over 30 years ago he agrees. Little does he know that this search will have him meeting his destined mate and will change his life forever.
Nathalie has been plagued with hearing voices ever since she was a small girl that has made her an outcast with everyone but her parents. Then when her father was first diagnosed with dementia her mother disappeared from the face of the earth. Now she’s the sole caretaker of her father whose lost most of his mental capabilities so she doesn’t have time for a social life or any life for that matter. When two strange men show up at her family’s café one is huge and intimidating and one is too handsome to believe she has no idea that they will introduce her to a world that’s out of this world, one will become her lover and one will become a father she never knew existed.

Ahhhh.. I can't stop reading this series because I have to know what happens next. It impossible to stop reading. If you don't want to read all of the books in the series my recommendation is that you don't even start at the first one.

This is book 9 in the Children of The Gods series by IT Lucas. The author has done the cruelest most addictive (I probably should say clever here too) thing with these series. In each book she sets up the next sets story line whilst simultaneously making you feel for the characters that the sets of books focus on.

This book focuses on the love story of Andrew and Nathalie as they struggle with their own mortality in the face of their loved ones around them being immortal.

Natalie finally proves that she is a "Dormant" - a human who has the gene that means that she can 'transition' to immortality if she so chooses. Just like the guy she loves, Andrew, another Dormant.

This story is the culmination of a rescue mission to save a kidnap victim, a character going after the change, tough emotions and big fears, strong and intelligent woman and sexy and capable men.

I'd hate to give too much away at this point but it's been brewing from the first in this quad of books. And it will culminate in the next one. No final conclusion though as this series never ends where you expect it to. And the characters will continue to appear in more books to come. This clever way of writing is leading to both my frustration AND my addiction to these books.

Love this series

Another page turner! I’m so hooked on this series! I am so in love with all of these characters and love that I get everyone’s point of views! I can’t wait to read the next installment

Dark Warrior's Destiny (Possible Spoilers--Maybe?)

The only thing I found that I didn't like about this story was Nathalie. She was super whiny and her constant jealousy over "relationships" old (Andrew's relationship with Bridget... which she hadn't even verified) or non-existent (since nothing happened with Andrew and Amanda) we're just...UGH...(I found myself saying "B * t c h, get over it" more than once in my head.)

I am confused about something in these stories...if Eva (Nathalie's mother) is immortal--as Andrew and Bhathian suspect, and Bhathian, of course, is immortal, why is she a Dormant? (I also have my suspicions about the other thing that could be going on with Nathalie...)

Again, aside from not liking the whole "the-end-for-now" thing, I'm still fairly hooked on this series. I wonder what form the next great evil will take?

What could be a fabulous story was turned into a disappointment

The theme is fabulous. But every single woman is shallow, insecure, immature, a bunch of simpering nitwits with no personality, jealousy ridden individual that giggle over everything. They have no spine, no purpose other than being something for the men to do (literally) in between the men being the only ones that actually have a storyline or a fully evolved character. Especially, or maybe more so the “humans”. The lusty scenes went from WOW to “holy crap I’m skipping entire chapters to avoid poorly written Lifetime movie type worn out sections that absolutely bore me”. The dialogue from the women border on the movie Clueless.. The men and their stories are the only part worth reading or getting invested in.. Sad.

Very engrossing

Dark Warrior's Destiny is a fantastic read. It has everything a lover of paranormal romance could want - passion, action, suspense and love. The unresolved plot elements leaves a reader to believe that more is to follow and, rather than being frustrating, it is very exciting. The resolution of the main story is very satisfying and will leave the reader contented as she waits for the next installment. If you are new to the series, start at the beginning. It is binge read worthy.

This book was my favorite. It had a great storyline with Andrew & Nathalie, shows the deep commitment between fathers and daughter, mutual respect for family, and an attitude that failure is not an option. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Lots going on in this one. Intense, emotional, scary, revealing and a victorious ride.
Carol is suffering at the hands of the Sadist. She endures it all and keeps silent about the clan's keep. Robert, only 1 of the Doomers actually has a heart and can't stand the torture of Carol any longer and concocts a way to come to her rescue.
Andrew is further convinced that Nathalie is a Dormant when she tells him about the "ghost" giving her a message for Amanda.
Kian follows through with ambushing the Doomers. This was a super quick war. We get to see Dalhu's worth during the intense fight. I really wish we got more details of the battles. Maybe even get to see Bathian and Anandur battle with Doomers. There wasn't enough detail or excitement written about the war.
Andrew decides to go ahead with the transition.
Nathalie is starting to get on my nerves. She is OVERLY jealous and for no apparent reasons. It was really upsetting to me, to see her get jealous of Andrew's own sister Syssi. That to me is the last straw in any relationship. That is a huge red flag. I understand a little jealousy, but her jealousy is just too overbearing, too obsessive, and just way too out of control. She completely turned me off in this one.
There were a lot of typos and grammatical errors in this one that I just could not ignore. When there are too many errors it takes away from the story and how it should be read.

IDK

There was a lot of interesting things and questions brought forth in this one, like what is Jackson really doing when he watches Fernando… LOL.

I still want to know how Michael turned so easily without Annani’s assistance when everyone else in the clan needed her.

Natalie got a bit annoying with her thoughts throughout the book and with her decisions towards the end. Her insistence that she take Andrew home after all that had just happened was ridiculous. She knows nothing about immortals and isn’t a doctor, yet she wanted to take him home and he’d just awoke from a coma less that 6 hours prior or so. How dumb is that? Plus her insistence on not taking medication or letting the doctor examine her after she’s been sick and puking multiple times a day for several days when she’s already in a medical facility. Just ridiculous. She says she didn’t want anything to muddle her brain, but since when did anti-nausea meds muddle your brain?

Anyway, the end of this one seemed rushed because the characters got stupid making dumb decisions. I’m upset that Anandur didn’t report sooner the deal conditions, despite what else they had going on. I the thing with Carol was just put on the back burner.

Oh well. See my notes and highlights on Goodreads. Happy reading!

Dark warrior's destiny/I.t.lucas

Even though This is a paranormal series, this serie shows how even immortals can have good souls as it shows how they are discovering feelings within themselves they never experience before due to the people they loved, even in battles some experience , instead of vengeance with bloodthirsty intent, they discovered its more about defending the people they loved and protect them and the clan at whatever cost from harm from the enemies. One dormer who was an enemie , dalhun, had convert over to kian side, the good chiefian whom tries to be honorable and battle one of the most powerful master swordsman, a dormer chief, sebastian, whom is a sadistic to women and enjoys torturing them. This story was well written, I couldn't put the book down had to read on to find out what happens next. You need to read the first series of the children of the gods to understand the dynamic behind each characters to know why they do what they do.

Dark Warrior’s Destiny KU/purchased 350 pgs **** 6/18/21 Andrew & Nathalie

4 stars. Excitement, war, fighting, love, sex, transitioning, few new characters but all of the normal ones, this had everything I like except for filler pages…every character has to think all the time, to themselves, which I can’t handle and have to skim or skip over. I think that’s why the books don’t seem nearly as long as the page numbers say they are. Nathalie got on my nerves just a tad at times with a whimpering, needy, weak attitude. I missed not having Annani around more and that she lives so far away from the clan. The sex was okay, kind of monotonous and the same so I did skip over some of those. Hoping to meet Nathalie’s mother soon and see how that plays out with her adoptive father and her biological father. Looking forward to the next book.

Destiny or Fate?

The agonizing wait for Nathalie, Andrew and the clan as they plan Carol's rescue and Andrew's transition start to wear on Nathalie. She vascillates between being deliriously happy and incredibly stressed. Fortunately, her emotions have not affected her Papi as yet, and her relationship with Andrew remains as strong as ever. What will the future bring when Andrew's transition becomes a reality rather than an abstract concept? Only time, life and fate will tell....

After I finished the previous installment in this series, I had to buy this book immediately because I desperately wanted to know what happened next. This novel wraps up the conflict between the Doomers and Annani's/Kian's clan, at least for now, and leaves just enough loose ends to prime the reader for the next book. I'm ready to take a little break and read something else for now, but I'm definitely going to read another one of these soon.

Cover art?

Why change the cover art? I thought the original Nathalie was very true to the book description. This one is beautiful but barely fits the description. The book is great but Nathalie and her opinions and fears are annoying, especially near the end. On the other hand, our fears are seldom rational. The fault is in me because I prefer my heroines to be stronger and overcome things--heroically.

Fantastic action and romance

This series is well-written and developed with characters that are as realistic as possible and living in the current world. There is action, suspense, romance, and everyday problems and dreams that people deal with, as well. Beautifully crafted to draw the reader in so that you just cannot put the book down, and you cannot wait for the next one to be published!

A different type of transitioning!

The Clan spring into action against the Doomers, which leads to a pitched battle with surprising results. Andrew undergoes his transition; will he be fundamentally changed?

There are always touches of humour in these books which offset the drama beautifully. I didn't think I'd want to get invested in such a long running saga but I'm enjoying it so much that I'm very glad I started.

Awesome Romantic

Ahhh, when you love someone, you support them in the capacity that you can. Nathalie is skeptical and engaging at the same time. I hope in the next few books Nathalie will accept the gift of immortality, but in the back of my mind, she's not going to make it. A life and a death in the next few books perhaps? The suspense have me on edge.

Wonderful read

As each new book continue from the last, the time is a smooth passing. You are made to feel each of its players feelings. Andrew and Natilee relationship growing into an unbreakable bond. Andrew's transitions causes Natilee to become very worry about what can happen to Andrew.

Gripping

Things are definitely heating up for the clan. Carol finds an unlikely ally that helps her. Kian goes on the offense. Andrew makes the call on his transition. Nathalie stresses, a lot. A few more characters are brought into the fold. All in all, lots of drama to keep me addicted. I love how Andrew and Nathalie's story is playing out.

First book of 2022!!!

I thought this book was going to wrap up Nathalie & Andrew’s story but I feel like there’s so much more.

The action was great and I love diving into one of these books bc the writing so far is consistent and I can just jump right in with little to no background info necessary.

These books are light, quick reads and vampires, DUH.

Reading book of is as rewarding for me as all the rest so far.

Each book just builds on the other one and continues to capture my interest. The characters deal with real concerns even though they are immoral. I cannot wait to keep absorbing every new book. A must read for paranormal enthusiasts.

Brilliant Series

Dark Warrior’s Destiny (Children Of The Gods Book 9) by I T Lucas. Carol is rescued by Robert, a doomed with a heart. Later on the same day Kian and the guardians kill or put into stasis all the Doomers and rescue the girls. Andrew starts transitioning but is unconscious for 5 days.

Quick review:

This gets 5 giant stars for the "Sage" plot twist. I'm so mad at myself for not seeing it coming. It's rare to surprise me like that. This entire series is pure gold. Don't take my word for it though. Read them for yourself.

Awesome series, good character development each book refers back to the previous book. Would definitely recommend but you need to start at the first book in the series to get to know each character.

Same Complaint

Too short. Wish the author had made this 4 part book as one book instead of 4. I’m sure part of the reason is to make more money, but it is still frustrating. I could do with a little more plot and less sex scenes as well.

Well it's official, I'm really hooked on this series. The characters are likeable and well developed, the romance is steamy and sexy, the writing is fluid and easily goes from one book to the next.
