Bye-bye hot tattoo guy. May we never meet again.LiamThe moment she stepped foot through the door, she was on my radar. How could she not be? The woman is absolutely gorgeous. Thick, inky black hair and a sweetly curved body. Although I have to admit, this hole-in-the-wall dive bar doesn't exactly seem like her scene. For one, she's wearing too much clothing. Two, she's shooting down every guy that sniffs around her table like it's her sole mission in life. Casualties are scattered across the beer-stained floor as we speak. And three, my guess is that she's a little older than the usual college-aged crowd that hangs out here looking for a hookup to stumble home with at the end of the night. After a careful assessment of the situation, my current plan of action is to keep my sights firmly locked on the target as I bide my time nursing a beer. Luckily, it doesn't take long for some drunken idiot to give me the perfect opportunity to step in and run interference.GiaThe moment he slides his muscular arm around my body and pretends to be my boyfriend, I know I’m in trouble. But inviting the guy I can’t shake loose home with us for a threesome?Yup, I’m done for.Especially when the guy in question—the one who can’t seem to take no for an answer—practically sprints away as if the hounds of hell are nipping at his heels. A handsome face, ripped muscles, and colorful ink decorating your arms will get you a second look. Being sexy, funny, and intuitive are what end up sealing the deal.He wants to buy me a drink. I’m tempted to let him. My insides are pinging like crazy, and I can’t remember the last time that happened. But he’s young. Too young. If I were smart, I’d walk away and forget about him. But I can’t bring myself to do that. Which is exactly how I end up in his bed at the end of the night with him doing the most delightfully wicked—er…sorry, I’m not one to kiss and tell. Three orgasms later, and I’m sneaking out of his apartment at the crack of dawn.I know I'll never see him again because this was strictly a one-time deal.We agreed. But you know what they say about best laid plans…They never quite work out the way you expect them to.

It's highly surprising for me to read something mid-series but I was a bit excited to get my hands on this book. So I broke one of my reading rules and didn't bother myself with the first two books in this series.
To say the least, this read turned out to be a surprisingly good one. I was instantaneously hooked and I personally think that a bit of editing really went into this work. I even noticed that the sentence construction was clean so that only told me that there was great reading ahead.
I am a bit apprehensive about the main conflict in this story. I personally dwell on age gap problems as well so I am a bit biased when it comes to the topic. Will Liam and Gia really last down the line? My biases come into play and say no. But I thought they were really well written characters and well meant. Liam seemed to be more mature than boys his age and Gia was a totally relatable character even if one may not have been in her situation. Our society is definitely the type that would put the blame on her just because she is the older woman.
But even though the age gap discussion was brought up repeatedly to the point of annoyance (stop harping on it already!), the entire plot and narrative saved this book for me. This is my first JS book and for a story with a conflict that is one of my real life no-no, I was pretty impressed. I guess it's time for me to look up the first two books in the series, huh?
Mary's review down below perfectly sums up how I feel about this book. Liam was far too good for stupid, annoying Gia, so much so that I've added her to my 'Annoying Cows' bookshelf. She really was the one and only obstacle in their relationship. Constantly she was putting up these roadblocks to the point that I just wanted to strangle her! Liam was all in. That guy *swoon* He really went all out. He brought his A game and then some. And for that and everything else that he did and had to endure from his family problems to that annoying cow, he gets a special membership to my 'Book Boyfriend Club'.
I've enjoyed this series and had high hopes for the delectable Liam, but Ms Sucevic instead paired him with an unworthy candidate. I was also disappointed with the epilogue . Questions, questions and more questions....
As a fan of the Barnett Bulldogs series, I couldn't wait for this book to release! The author did a fantastic job of piquing my interest about Liam Garrison in Friend Zoned, and I eagerly looked forward to reading his story. I suspected it would run much deeper than the ink on his body, and I was right.
From a distance, Liam seems to have it all-looks, athleticism, good grades, and a never-ending line of girls willing to warm his bed. What no one sees, however, is the staggering weight of responsibility he carries on his broad shoulders. His family's dire financial situation is a secret he keeps a tight lid on while focusing on preparing for the upcoming NFL draft. All he has to do is sign with a team to keep a roof over their heads after his father's latest lapse in judgment threatens to put them into foreclosure.
While blowing off steam with teammates at a campus watering hole, a beautiful woman catches his attention. Intrigued by the fact that she seems out of place in the dive bar, he unleashes his charm (and dimples) to persuade her to go home with him.
Gia Monroe never expected to hook up with anyone when she agreed to watch her younger brother's band perform at a dingy bar she'd normally never set foot in. Still recovering from the breakup with her boyfriend of three years, she decides to throw caution to the wind and allow herself one night of much-needed pleasure with the tatted, muscular bad boy even though he's still a college student and she's pushing thirty. What follows is the kind of rambunctious, passionate sex she never experienced with her ex. Although part of her wants a repeat performance, she clings to the anonymity they agreed on beforehand and sneaks away before Liam awakes the following morning.
It isn't long before fate intervenes when Liam and a teammate find themselves in Gia's second-grade classroom to speak to her students about the importance of sports and teamwork. He's delighted to see the woman he can't get out of his mind despite his best efforts. She, on the other hand, is mortified. When he asks to see her again, she sticks to her guns and turns him down, citing both their age difference and prior agreement to limit their interaction to a one-night stand.
In a series of romantic and thoughtful gestures, Liam convinces Gia to go out on a date with him. She's still hung up on the age gap between them, but can't deny their chemistry. In the days that follow, she learns that age truly is nothing but a number as she witnesses firsthand how Liam's responsibilities are anything but boyish or childlike. Her respect grows, as do her feelings for the young man who'll do everything he can to keep his family safe and sound.
As with the first two books in the series, Ms. Sucevic's writing painted a vivid picture of each scene that enabled me to become immersed in the story. Her talent is boundless and becomes more evident with each new book she releases. If you haven't already read King of Campus and Friend Zoned, I highly suggest you do it as both stories are unique and satisfying. I think we can expect many more stories from this prolific author.
Gia Monroe is 28 and teaches second graders. She just broke up with her boyfriend Tyler. They dated for almost three years, but he's obsessed with his job, and Gia got tired of coming in second. And if she's honest, there just wasn't any zing in their relationship. He was safe and secure but there was no fire between them.
She's out with her friends at O'Brien's a college bar listening to her brother's band, The Renegades. She's been less than supportive of Noah, but that's going to change. When one douche too many hits on her, out of the blue there's a gorgeous knight ready to save the day. They both feel that zing. Too bad Liam Garrison is a college student. Way too young for Gia.
Even if I hadn't recently extricated myself from a three-year relationship, I still wouldn't be interested in hooking up with some twenty-one or twenty-two-year-old.
Liam may be too young to get involved with, but he's not too young to have a smokin' hot one night stand with-sheets are ablaze between these two.
"Come home with me. Just for tonight. I'm not asking for anything more than that. This is a strictly no-strings attached deal. Whatever delectable fantasy you have in your head right now I'll make happen. That much I can promise you."
Fresh panties please.
But Gia's determined not to take things any further. But circumstances and fate lend a hand for this couple and before they know it, they are in a relationship.
This may have started out as a no-strings-attached one-night stand, but it's morphed into something infinitely deeper than I expected.
Liam Garrison is 20, the leading quarterback for the Bulldogs, Barnett University's football team and is on the fast track to the NFL. He also has a world or responsibility resting on his shoulders. His family is the definition of dysfunctional and he's had to assume the role of the man of the house for years. He needs to make football work for him if he ever wants to get his family out of the dire straits that surround them.
The age difference between Gia and Liam is a huge barrier. But these two are about to find out, that's not the only thing that is going to keep them apart. One Night Stand has more than a few twists and turns that will hold your interest.
"I want you, Gia. I've always wanted you. And more than anything, I want us. But you have to want it, too. As his eyes continue holding mine ensnared, my breath catches before he tacks on softly. "You have to want me."
3 stars you see?! Well it's not because I didn't like the take of the story it's because Gia was so God damn annoying and whiny. She was so hung up on the age difference between her and Liam that I wanted to scream at her and strangle her. With her being the older of them you would think she would be the mature one, but nope. The whole time she keeps pushing him away using that she doesn't like the age gap and that she doesn't want casual even tho he tells her all the damn time that he wants more. Not to mention how persistent he is in keeping her and she keeps pushing him away. I mean seriously I wanted to slap her. Here's a guy legitimately trying to have a commitment relationship and she waffles back and forth and talk about the games she plays. One minute it's all I can't do this and the next she's all we'll take it slow. Talk about sending mixed signals. It's the first time I read a book were I wanted the H to actually walk away from the h. Say screw this! I'll find someone who appreciates me and what I have to offer! I could go on and on but I won't. Just my opinion but read at your own expense.
It's been a while since I read the last 2 books when I stumbled across this one and figured why not. Then I made the mistake of reading some of the reviews and I was worried. So I'm going to briefly address the things I read in the reviews. Firstly yes the main character was overly concerned about the age difference, I didn't see an issue with the age difference BUT I can understand her being upset about it and I had no issue with that. Sometimes we get hung up on the smallest things and in hindsight we realise how minor it is but in the moment we can't see past it.
What I did have an issue with is the fact that the main couple have a massive connection and this wasn't an issue until it was. For me this was a WTF moment. It felt deceptive and conveniently ignored. However I didn't get hung up on it because I freaking loved the characters and the story.
There were a few things I wanted more of. And a few things I wish had gone a different way but I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and the twists and turns.
I think people need to be more honest with themselves in their reading preferences and stop "trying" to read books that aren't in their lane. Seriously there are literally millions of books out there, stop picking up books and slamming them just because they are not going exactly the way you feel they should or the character has a different hang up than you do.
Ok to start out, it took me a couple of days to get through this book. The only reason I read this one was because it's part of the series. On that note, can we get this girl some cheese with her whine, please? I really wanted to bitch slap this girl. I'm not real fond of OW/YM stories. I will read them as long as I'm not bashed over the head with the ages. Unfortunately, this is constantly brought up by the h. That's all she's complained about was their age difference. It was like GET OVER IT ALREADY LADY! Now Liam was a sweetheart, Gia not so much. She's supposed to a 29 yo mature woman, but with all the complaining she came across as an immature teenager. I did manage to finish the book but only because of the other characters. We get to see Roan, Sam & Dylan. I was not happy about Dylan & Lexi breaking up, though. I will continue to read the rest of this series hoping the rest is better. I really liked the first 2 books of the series.
This started out witty, with likable main characters and lots of heat. But there were two plot twists I absolutely hated so I DNFed.
One is that the hero, a college football player is even younger than the heroine thinks he is. That felt unnecessary. I assumed he was only a Junior because he started late due to his family situation. Having him actually be almost 21 instead of at least 22 didn’t work for me. What is he doing buying wine for dinner?! I know lots of people have fake IDs but this just felt iffy.
Second plot twist is the heroine’s ex is the football coach. So it makes absolutely no sense that the hero and heroine didn’t know each other, at least by sight already. And the personality of her ex before this revelation and the personality of the coach did not match.
The heroine also bitches way too much about being almost 30. 29 isn’t old. I looked forward to turning 30, so I don’t know what her problem is.

One star off for repeatedly having Gia say something about age difference... otherwise I enjoyed story. The glamor of a college quarterback "lifestyle" was vastly overshadowed by his family situation and his attempt at a relationship with Gia. At times his struggles and strength made me want to pull Gia's hair but we made it through it all. HEA with hints of other characters getting their chance at a spotlight!!
Too much focus on the age gap, which after awhile made me feel a bit like she was doing something illegal. It was overkill. But this same over-focus on one issue has come up in all the books in the series: the first is too much about Ivy's bra size; the second on the friend situation; this one on the age difference.
Cheesy ending. Also a symptom in all three books in the series.
Gia walks into a bar to watch her brothers band play and Liam sees her. He propositions her for a one nighter. She’s been out of a long term relationship for a couple months so she decides to get back out there and go for it. They don’t exchange names or numbers but have one hell of a night together. A few weeks later Liam and another football player are doing a presentation about college sports to a second grade class and Gia happens to be the teacher. She knew she was significantly older than him. He begs her for a date and she agrees. They go out and she asks him to take it slow with her and mentions the 7 year age gap. But Liam is more mature than his age. When he was in high school his mother ditched the family and his dad went off the rails. He has a full scholarship to school and plans to enter the draft early to help pay his families bills. Meanwhile his younger brother is working 40 hours a week and giving all of his money to his dad while not playing sports and still going to high school and his younger sister has a learning disability and is having a hard time in 9th grade. One night his sister calls because the brother and dad got into a fight so he and Gia go to the house. Gia starts helping Claire with her homework. She ends up becoming a tutor and starts meeting with her every Sunday. They go out another night and it happens to be a week before Liam’s birthday. His teammates let slip that he’s turning 21 and Gia loses her marbles because it turns out she’s 9 years older than Liam. And then the bigger bomb drops that Liam’s coach is gias ex. Tyler has been scouting Liam since he was a freshman in high school. Gia breaks it off with Liam because he’s too young and she doesn’t want to be the reason that he has issues with the coach that has been like a father to him. Liam’s father loses the house because he has gambled all of Cullums money away and Liam has to move them into an apartment. The week before the draft Liam comes clean with coach Tyler about Gia. Tyler goes to visit Gia. He has been trying to get her back but then realizes it’s never going to happen and he gives his blessing for the relationship with Liam. Before the draft Liam stops and gias school. He asks for one more chance and she decides to give it to him. 18 months later they’re married and she’s pregnant and he plays for Green Bay HEA.

I wasn't going to read this book. As much as I love Jennifer Sucevic's books, the one night stand/insta love trope doesn't usually interest me. I'm so glad I didn't skip it! I finished it in one day! We were introduced to Liam in Friend Zoned, when he took Violet out on a date to help her (and Sam) come to terms with her feelings. He was a hot biker who seemed to have a big heart. He was all that and more in this book. He saw Gia at a bar and knew he had to have her. He promised her it would be one night only. Afterwards, she was fine with it being a "one and done" situation. He definitely was not ok with that. He chased her until she finally gave in. Gia couldn't get past the fact that he was younger than her. She kept fighting her feelings for him. As a reader, Liam seemed so much older and mature than his real age to me, maybe because of how his home life was. Gia puts up road blocks for seemingly no reason. When she finds out that Liam is even younger than she thought, she pushes him away harder and is angry that he didn't tell her. However, she has a very big secret that he finds out on his own and it devastates him. It's hard to understand why she keeps the secret from him and then why she is angry at him for keeping his age from her when she should've known it all along. As much as he wishes he could let her go, he can't and ultimately she decides she can't let him go either. They finally achieve that magical HEA that we get to see more of in the next book in the series, If You Were Mine.
Holy Smokes I can’t BELIEVE I didn’t want to read this!!!
I waited and waited to read this next book in the series AND almost skipped it yesterday too! I’m so glad I didn’t skip!! Omg when an author can get chemistry to freaking smolder off the pages I go gaga for it! These two were 🔥🥵🔥🥵set my kindle aflame spicy! 😮💨like DAY-UM!! They didn’t let their obvious challenges (eventually) get in the way of their love. I had issues trying to figure out the reverse age gap as I can count on one hand how many I’ve read and I must say they’ve all been tastefully done, just not my cup of tea. Well Jennifer Sucevic dis not disappoint (why did I ever doubt her??)! She brought yet another couple to life and allowed me to lose myself in their world. Yes they had obstacles, perceived and real but and a little too much back and forth but once our h got out of her own way? We had magic. Of course she had reservations being so much older and Liam didn’t get it as he just wanted HER and ti heck with the age…it became a push and pull that kept the angst level high for sure. In the end, it all worked out for a hot steamy read that had you cheering for the main couple to work it out! We got visits from couples pst too which is always fun! All in all another banger by Jennifer and I’m ashamed that I waited so stinkin long to dive in. Once I did though, it took me less than 24hrs to eat.it.up!
I loved the idea of this book, I loved the story but the execution was a bit lacking. Small typos/grammatical errors aside, the angst and 3rd act break up was a bit over the top. Gia let the age difference interfere with what obvious from the get go an intense connection to someone. I get that it bugged her. I get that it would take some getting used to. But from the very beginning it is clear to the reader and to the FMC that while he may be younger he is more man than someone older.
Liam has gone through a hell of a life and has had to mature far earlier than anyone should have to. He has his head on straight, he works hard and is dedicated to his future and his family.
I have beef with his inner monolgue early in the book saying to himself that he has learned a lot in his "twenty two" years when he was only twenty. He knows how old he is right? I know this was supposed to be part of the friction in the story that he didn't come clean to her when she stated numerous times that she was worried about their 7 year age difference and he didn't correct her but why would he refer to himself as that age. (Chapter 14 for anyone wondering)
I really did like the idea of the story and I loved Liam so much. The execution of the story could use a little tweaking.
I wanted to love this. I wanted to love reading about Liam because I love his scenes in the other books of the series but I found this to be underwhelming. His backstory was interesting but I felt like the author set up a lot of drama that didn't get resolved in an equally satisfying way. Somehow the resolutions for certain plot points fell flat or, in the case of storylines for other supporting characters, were not resolved at all. I don't know if this is to drum up intrigue for future books but it caused this book to feel unfinished and rushed. Not my favourite. Liked it more than two stars but it really was an 'it's ok' kind of read. Certainly doesn't hold a candle to the previous two books in the series.
Meh - this book was just okay for me. It was a easy read but I wouldn’t recommend this book and didn’t think it was worth the buy. It was a pretty boring book.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked Liam’s character but I found it hard to get on board with Gia. She was a bit of a bore and she found every reason possible to not be with Liam - from the age gap, to her ex boyfriend, to his draft, etc. Also, I felt like they really glossed over the fact that Gia knew her ex boyfriend, who she dated and essentially lived with for 3 years, was Liam’s coach. The entire time she knew and never revealed it to Liam. Honestly, I thought that was extremely shady and gross on her part and I don’t like that they brushed it under the rug when I felt that it was extremely deceitful.

- i genuinely felt like all the book talked about was there age gap. I mean like cmon. Get over it? You obviously keep going on dates with the guy so it’s not that big a deal. -was mad at her because she was stressing over 7 years and then found out he was never honest about only being 20… and then I was like oh she’s 30 he’s 20. Odd.. but then I was like i actually don’t care. It just seems odd cause he’s in college. -also I think it’s the fact that I’m turning 21 soon and would never even think about dating a 29 year old… -but anyways her always doubting the age and basically being like ur a baby ur so little. It’s really weird. -also that man talked way too much during intimate times. Like it was just every 5 seconds. Like take a breather.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved that Gia was older. That was like a breath of fresh air! I really liked that. Although, I didn't like how often she internalised about their age difference. That did get a bit annoying after a while seeing as it was brought up constantly. But I loved Liam. I enjoyed the pace. Overall really good book :)
The only real issue I had with this book is the same that I had with all of Jennifer's books and that is the slight errors. Such as sight/site, conscious/conscience, affect/effect/ errand/errant, things of that nature. But other than that I really, really enjoyed this book :)
This one night stand was supposed to be just that. The chemistry between Liam, Barnett’s star QB and Gia, a second grade teacher, is hot. Liam doesn’t give up the fight for Gia. He’s never felt like this before and tries, with everything he can think of, to get Gia to see that what they have is worth a shot. There’s so much going on behind the scenes that add to this story. I loved it!
Liam appears to be so self-assured and has his act together. The reality is the opposite. Gia is still getting over a 3-yr relationship when she decides to be a little wild and have a one-night stand. They both have secrets and their age difference is a major issue. Liam is so strong as he takes care of everyone but himself. He deserves a girl like Gia. Too bad it took her so long to see the light.
She keeps harping on their age difference over and over and over and over again. And then some more.
Look lady, you're right, you're way too old for him and it's probably not safe for you to have sex at your age, at all. You might sprain something. Better try some crocheting.
There is a prior connection that she knew about all along but it gets sprung on the reader out of the blue, her inner monologues never even hinted at it being a problem.
I give this book 4 stars, it took me one night only to finish it. So i think this tell pretty well how much i loved this book. For some of us the age can be a real problem. It can easily ruin a perfect relationship. Even if that is “the one” sometimes it’s not that easy to follow the hart without imagine what people will think about your decisions .
The Barnett Bulldogs series has me hooked. The title for Liam's story was very appropriate to how his character was portrayed in earlier books in this series. Then, WoW!, this Liam is more than arrogance, tattoos & his motocycle. Really really enjoyed Liam's story.
This book was aright. I didn’t vibe with the fmc the entire time she kept saying he was too young and she was too old. I also didn’t vibe with the plot twist with her ex being the mmc coach I didn’t personally enjoy that. Also there was a third act break up due to mmc age and of course the ex being mmc coach for these reasons it’s a 3 star for me

liam is a complete sweetheart!!! i do understand gia’s feelings about their age gap, but idk age is just a number and she shouldn’t be bothered about it..... wouldn’t re-read it, but jennifer really smashed it with this series of books!!!
I read these books out of order and saw the couple well established in the next book. They are so awesome in that book and it made me pick this one up. But I was really disappointed and bored with Gia’s age gap issue and how many times it was addressed….snooze. It just seemed way over the top.
definitely was an enjoyable read, i was slightly annoyed with how much the FMC kept arguing about the age difference but idk why I was so annoyed because I think I’d be the same way but girl he loves you so fuck it! The ex thing I did not see coming but overall a cute book with some good spice 🌶️
Finally and age gap where the woman is older! I loved this. The push and pull was great and I felt her on the big age gap. I loved their chemistry and the heat between them. That undeniable pull they had. Such a great story.
