A controversial erotic manga artist who was most prolific in the 1980s and 90s. Several of Maeda's works have been used as a basis for Original Video Animations including the well known La Blue Girl, Adventure Kid, Demon Beast Invasion, Demon Warrior Koji and his most famous work, Urotsukidōji (Legend of the Overfiend). One interviewer commented that Urotsukidōji "firmly placed him in the history books - in Japan and abroad - as the pioneer of the genre known as hentai, or perverted".
Maeda is proud of his role in popularizing the genre and in a blog interview stated that he would like "Tentacle Master" inscribed on his tombstone.
Seems like sluts get possessed by the sex demons and then they forcibly induce mind-altering pleasure upon other sluts in order to make them slaves so the sex demons can merge hell and earth through orgasm powers.
The first page is a possessed woman shaking a soda bottle and then letting it explode inside her pussy.
The next scene is some guy throwing an infant off a building. The baby explodes on the pavement and dies.
This book has my respect.
It’s terribly written. Serviceable artwork. Dont recall any characters. But who cares - the main character of this book is its reputation.
Japanese artists would creatively circumvent anti dick-and-pussy-drawing laws by just drawing things similar to dicks and pussies, like tentacles.
Back in 1985, this book apparently was a big pioneer of that sort of deal. This comic is why tentacle porn is a thing.
I didn’t finish this because it’s a massive book and it’s not very good. But out of respect for the craft I have to give it a passing grade.
The manga that made monster and tentacle sex a mainstay of Japanese erotica has now been re-released in its most faithful localization yet.
The previous English release of the manga altered the original somewhat, particularly by redrawing the genitals that were obscured in the Japanese original due to Japan's censorship laws. This release for better or worse is exactly like the Japanese original.
As for the manga itself it's like nothing else out there. It's the story of a legendary beast known as the Chojin who every 3000 years is reborn in a human in order to merge the human, beast and demon realms. Agents from the demon realm seek to kill the Chojin before he can transform, while agents from the beast realm - most notably our protagonist Amano Jyaku - seeks to protect him and bring about the transformation. Whether the Chojin will actually bring about a better world though is an open question.
Right off the bat though you understand that this isn't a story of good versus evil but rather a battle between various chaotic forces, none of which can be called good. This is also what makes it interesting, because the story is crazy to the point where it's completely unpredictable. It's almost Lovecraftian in how humanity is caught in the middle of a cosmic battle where neither side cares one whit for human life. It isn't so much a question of shades of gray, as shades of black.
The demons on one hand are completely merciless and use humans as tools when they're not killing or raping them. Amano is their most powerful adversary and as such he is a bit like the manga's superhero, but he is completely devoid of any empathy and can be just as much as a lech as the demons. Our hero thinks nothing of killing humans simply to test if they're the Chojin, and protects women from demon possession by putting his magical sperm in them. His sister figures among the protagonists too, and she spends her time having sex with human males and accidentally killing them during orgasm. The world of Urotsukidoji is as terrifying as it's exhilerating.
I'm pulling one star because the writing of some of the human characters can be rather unbelievable. Some of them are subject or witness to extremely horrifying acts in the battle between Amano and the demons, and then the next day go on with their lives happy and carefree when you'd think they'd be on the verge of insanity. Akemi f.ex. seems to have no lasting trauma from being raped by the lizard demon that possessed her teacher, and said teacher is later saved mid-rape by Amano by having the demon exploded all over her, entrails and all - next day she's back to teaching math. I'm aware of Japanese work ethic and all, but come on.
I was stoked to kickstart this hentai classic. Unfortunately it took me a while to get to it, but once I did I ate it up in just a few hours.
This book is just as disturbing as I remember the story being, and then some. Maeda-sensei redrew a lot of the book now that it doesn't have to be censored. Definitely and artist approach to a lot of, ahem, private parts, but the gore is just as intense. The artwork is styled like a lot of artists in the 80s, but Maeda-sensei has a distinct way of drawing that is very unique.
This book is definitely not for the faint of heart, but it's kind of obvious. Lol Thanks to Fakku for putting this out! Never thought I'd hold a translated copy in my hands!
Well, this was something, that's for sure. Tentacle sex starts on 2nd page and continues every few pages throughout the whole book. The art is actually great, I love the character designs. Writing is cheesy and terrible but I obviously didn't expect much of a story anyways, it was clear from the first page this was going to be a grotesque, shock value series.
the guy behind this was in a lesbian spider musical and his character was called "the tentacle master". my rewatch of that musical made me want to read the manga. would kill for a rerelease or a localization of the ADV i need to see this guy's nonsense (positive) rendered in janky pc-88 pixel art without risking my computer getting a virus.
