Matchmaking a Marriage #2

By the Numbers Bride: Calhoun

Rate this book
Calhoun Anderson kept his feelings in check and his emotions under control. The sudden and tragic death of his parents had hit him and his siblings in different ways. Ry, his younger brother, sought love with a variety of women while Gabe, his elder brother, found solace in women-even married ones-liquor and hard living. So he'd had to be the levelheaded one. He'd thought he was handling everything well until his grandfathers hired a CPA to help with the ranch books. From the first look, he knew his even-keeled world was about to turn upside down.

Kristen Thomas left home to escape an emotionally turbulent relationship with her mother and an ex-fiancé who had jilted her at the altar. Hoping to make a fresh start, she went to work for her uncle in his accounting office in the quaint town of Devil's Spur. How could she have known that one sexy cowboy had her number?

I love a curvy heroine story and always search these out over any others. This one was short and sweet, but i really enjoyed it, and the hero wasn't your typical alpha male (but don't get me wrong, he was definitely alpha in the right moments ha ha!), he was serious and i liked that about him. This wasn't the first in the series so i will definitely be checking out the others in the series. I think the 3rd one will be out later in the year, and I'm desperate to read this one!

Decent Read

This was a good, solid read. There were a couple of things that didn't make a lot of sense, one being the return of the heroine's now-crazy ex-fiance. Also why her mother suddenly wants to hang around, even though she's never had a good relationship with the heroine, and continues to verbally abuse her. I just didn't buy either of those components of the story.

Enjoyable KU read.
The middle brother gets his turn.
Cal is not as much of a manwhore as his other two brothers.
He is quite likeable and I enjoyed his romance with Kirsten.
Kirsten has an insane ex fiancé who of course comes along to cause problems.
Kirsten’s mother was a rotten piece, why did she even have her staying with her?
Not sure how they are going to redeem Cabe, the oldest brother though.
Proofreading errors needed to be picked up.

Loved it !

This was a 5+ star book love as I love my cowboy and a curvy woman ! Cal and Kristen have a somewhat unorthodox start but love can't be denied where these two are concerned . Lots of family and family values throughout the book which is a short , thoroughly entertaining read ! I can hardly wait for book number three in the series

Continuation of a great series.

I loved this book very much. Calhoun is a a smart man with a lot of responsibilities who doesn't know that a fake relationship will become something more.

Very good read

Enjoyable and quick read and you gotta love the meddling grand dads and their friend. This couple were well matched and the mother was a real piece of work. Enjoyed this book. Looking forward to gage’s story and hopefully he’ll get a strong woman out of it.

Fake Boyfriend

What starts as a cover to keep her safe from a womanizing cowboy, completely turns into wanting his brother for real. Can Kristen keep her actual feelings out of it or is she destined to want Calhoun for all time?~

Like this series

This book had adventure, love and a lot of angst as far as what is going on with brother Gabe. Cal and Kristen are through, but looking forward to hearing more about them in Babes book.

I loathe the phrase man-whore. It's off putting. First book in the series was ok, but I'm done.

Falling in...

Great to be able to read a book that has a good story line. Real sounding circumstances, and a bit of action and romance .
