Are you ready for a project that will actually change your life?
Challenge yourself to journal, pray, reflect, and connect with God with The Weekly Prayer Project. Fifty-two scriptures, one for each week of the year, explore different types of prayers found in the Bible, from prayers of gratitude and thankfulness to prayers of lament and intercession. Each week’s journaling prompts will guide you to reflect on God’s work in your life and to pray with intention. Walk through this book, and see your faith deepen and your joy soar.
Scarlet Hiltibidal is the author of Afraid of All the Things and He Numbered the Pores on My Face. She also writes a regular column for ParentLife Magazine and enjoys speaking to women around the country about the freedom and rest available in Jesus. Scarlet lives in Middle Tennessee, where she loves sign language with her daughters, nachos by herself, writing for her friends, and learning how to raise ducks with her husband for no reason other than cuteness.
The aim of the author is to provide readers a way to intentionally be quiet and hear God better. There are 52 devotions divided into seven sections representing the different types of prayer found in the Bible. Each devotion has a Scripture, a short devotion, and two journal prompts with plenty of space given for thoughtful writing. Some of the responses are involved and may take a few days to complete, such as finding three truths about God's character and relating them to burdens. (53)
There is much I like about this book. I like that space is given right after the devotion for journal entries. No extra notebook is needed. I like that Hiltibidal included lament as one of the sections. That is a valuable spiritual discipline we often ignore.
There are also a few things I don't like about the book. It is somewhat shallow. For example, when writing about God's mercy, she says, “When you are sick and suffering, He is sad. He cares. He heals.” (24) There is nothing about the purposes of God, such as His discipline or the lessons that may be learned in such a situation.
She uses at least one verse out of its context. John 16:20, about sorrow turning to joy, records what Jesus specifically said to His disciples about His death and resurrection. Can we really take that verse and make it a universal truth for Christians? Perhaps another verse would have been a better choice.
The book also contains some sloppy theology. When writing about the feelings as a follower of God after sinning, she concludes, “...your feelings should compel you to repent, to turn from the wrong you've done. This change ultimately leads to salvation.” (112) This might give a reader the wrong impression, that changed behavior must come before salvation.
I also had an issue with some language or sentence structure. She writes, “Try to identify an area of your life where God isn't as present as He should be.” (89) God is present. Period. There is no “should” about it. Perhaps she could have asked readers to identify areas in life where God's presence is not sensed or felt. That puts the responsibility to experience God's presence on us, where it belongs.
I like the style of the book, a Scripture, a devotion and journal prompts. Unfortunately, it suffers from issues that could have been corrected by careful editing.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
Thank you TLC Book Tours and Zondervan for these beautiful journals and tour invite.

Are you ready to accept a challenge that could dramatically change your life? The Weekly Prayer Project invites you to journal, pray, reflect, and connect with God using a 52-week guided prayer journal. You’ll learn to pray with intention and explore the different types of prayers found in the Bible, with journaling prompts that guide you to reflect on God’s work in your life.
I absolutely love this book!! It is like no other book on prayer and it has made my prayer life that much more alive.
This is a hard-back book and I was a bit concerned about how easy it would be to write in it. However, it lies flat quite nicely and is very easy to read and write in. It's a beautiful book, as well. There are so many beautiful photographs and little paintings in the book to inspire you. It just added so much to the book for me.
It is broken up into seven parts. They are: Requests, Gratitude, Lament, Intercession, Faith, Repentance, and Awe. It helps you to focus on these important aspects of prayer. I loved that the introduction tells you to make this book your own by starting at the beginning or jumping to a different part of the book if you'd like.
The fact that this is broken up into 52 weeks is something I love. It allows you to really focus, for a full week, on the Scripture provided for that week and to make those prayer requests for that week something you fully concentrate on. There are also questions to ponder as you go through your week.
This is a really small thing, but to me, just makes this book even more special. They provide a ribbon book mark for you to use. It's just something that makes this book more lovely.
I really love this book and can't wait to make it a real part of my devotional time each week. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make their prayer life more fulfilling and their relationship with God deeper.

I love finding new ways that encourage people (and myself) in faith. The moment I first noticed The Weekly Prayer Project, I was intrigued and honestly, the book is everything I had hoped it would be.
First of all, this is a wonderfully designed book. It has a very sturdy hardcover, nice thick pages, and a ribbon bookmarked. Inside, the pages have space to write (if there is one flaw in this book, it’s that there may not be enough journaling room in it), appealing graphics, and just a generally nice layout.
The book is divided into 7 types of prayer: Requests, Gratitude, Lament, Intercession, Faith, Repentance, and Awe. Each of those types is meant to be covered over 7-8 weeks. Each of the weeks covered in each type of prayer has a scripture related to a prayer in the Bible. Each scripture is only a verse or two long. That is followed by a brief thought about the verse, then a small journaling section to think about the passage presented. Finally, the last piece is to write out a prayer. There are prompts for this part.
Overall, I’m very pleased with this book. It certainly falls into what I thought and expected it to be. I think it is set up in such a way that it would be useful to new believers and mature believers alike. I could also see where in some ways, it could be used in a small group type setting as well. I’m looking forward to working my way through this book and seeing my faith and relationship with God grow.
If you are looking for a way to grow your prayer life, this book might just make a wonderful tool for you. I can also see where this book may also make a great gift for someone as well.

“The Weekly Prayer Project” challenges you to reconnect to God through journaling, prayer and reflection. This journal has 52 scriptures, one for each week of the year. It has space for journaling and reflection, plus prompts to help you in your thought process. It is beautifully bound hard-cover and lays flat making it easy to journal. It is divided into seven sections, each representing a prayer found in the Bible.
I have been journaling for sometime now in my daily devotions and love the concept of “The Weekly Prayer Project”. It will encourage me to not only journal my thoughts, but also my prayers. In this book I love the fact that the pages are not dated so you can skip around and study what is most appealing to your situation in any given week. Also if you are a newbie to journaling or just stuck on what direction your thoughts should go…it gives you encouraging prompts. For the most part I was very impressed with this journal, but at some time would love to see one published in the King James Version for those of us who are fans of that translation. At this point I am just paralleling the two scriptures together. If you are a died-hard KJV person, this would not be the journal for you.
Fifty-two scriptures, one for each week, reflect on the different aspects of prayer and how we can make them relatable to our lives. Each week begins with a scripture on prayer. A thought from the author is then followed by a couple of questions or thought provoking instructions that will help the reader delve deeper into the concept of prayer and how it can relate to their life. There is plenty of lined journaling space to answer the questions or instructions, while still having room to write down some prayers.
I love the beautiful pictures and crisp, clean layout of the journal. This would make a wonderful addition to a study on prayer or can be used in conjunction with any other devotion. The hard cover lays out flat to make writing in the journal easier and a ribbon is there for a bookmark. I'm definitely planning on keeping this and adding it to my devotional time. But I plan on also adding it to the list of items that would make excellent gifts.

I received the most beautiful book/prayer journal that you need to have in your life. It is called "The Weekly Prayer Project" and it is filled with fifty-two weeks of scripture and prayer spots. I love it is organized into different sections for your prayers. Some include intercessions, laments, requests, and so much more. The table in contents provides the different types of prayers and you can jump around or you can read and use the prayer journal cover to cover. This book has beautiful images and is a nice hardback with a ribbon marker. It is a beautiful book and I highly recommend it. I give this book 5/5 stars.
This pretty book caught my eye on a Target shelf. I thumbed through it and took delight in the watercolor illustrations of plants and succulents. It also has beautiful photos interspersed between the plentiful room to jot your prayers down, based on weekly prayer prompts for a whole year. Every six weeks or so, you can enjoy a well-written devotion that will shape your prayer life. You can use this journal however you like; if you want to do several weeks at a time, go for it! I’m starting it now…you can start it anytime you like.
I really like that The Weekly Prayer Project is a hardback book. I feel like this will make the book more durable for the year long project. This book is a weekly prayer study guide that gives you a bible verse and story along with space to write out your thoughts for each of the 52 weeks in a year. I feel that this book would make a great gift and look forward to working through this book this year
This book is set up so that you read one very short devotion a week then you write out a prayer. I really enjoyed this book and liked that it gave me a weekly prayer focus that was not necessarily something I would have done on my own. However, the book did tend to feel very repetitive after a while.
I do not know what to say do you know what to say can you text meme Here's my song I love you say my name You don't care But what do you want Maybe if you wanna say my name I don't understand knowledge but you face😘How do you like my song did you like it Hope you liked it Play So I lot of smiley faces the hundred Bye have a good day😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😍😍😍😍😍😍😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😚😚😚😚😚😚
This book helped me to connect more to myself and more importantly to God🙌🏽. So many prayers prayed and answered through the journal this book prompted.
