Andrea Logan White appeared to be living the “American dream” or what many would call a “perfect life.” However, underneath the happy veneer of the model, actress, and producer, was a subtle, caustic voice leading to emptiness and self-destruction. She was being crushed under the weight of her own drive for “perfection.” Andrea’s remarkable (and often tabloid-worthy) journey that took her from hanging out in the Playboy mansion to finding God at a stop light on Hollywood Boulevard is a page-turner, but it is not the whole story. Even discovering Jesus, finding an amazing husband, having beautiful children, and embarking on an exciting career didn’t hold the “happily ever after” Hollywood ending Andrea had envisioned. No matter how successful, how spiritual, how loved, she was still enslaved by a lie the Enemy uses against many of she felt she needed to be “perfect” to be accepted by herself, by others, and by God. Andrea shares her struggle with life-threatening eating disorders and self-defeating thought patterns, and she reveals the beautiful discovery that God’s love meets us not in our perfection, but in the most unfinished places of our life. In Perfectly Unfinished , Andrea exposes the powerful truth that continues to change her God loves us just as we are, just where we are; for it is in the midst of our brokenness and imperfections that Jesus is at work completing us so that we may share fully in his holiness. Alongside Andrea, readers discover from the word of God how to join God in the work he is doing in the midst of our unfinished and imperfect lives.
Love this book so much! I love how she talked about struggling with thinking she is suppose to be perfect (guilty🙋🏽♀️). Also her struggles with the way she was raised, & marital struggles. Needed to read this.

Inspiring book! From a life of struggles without God to a life, though still with struggles, with God. The author is very honest and open about her life, and Spiritual walk which is encouraging to the rest of us! I would not recommend this for young teens or below due to some of the circumstances in the author's life, though. However, having said that, she doesn't go into graphic detail, she just tells a little more than you might want younger teens to know, in my opinion. I like reading biographies that have hope! I'm praying for this lady and her family now.

In the midst of so much grief, cultural grief and personal grief, it can be very hard to get a good perspective of what the bigger picture looks like. As trite as it sometimes sounds, God's timing is better than our own, and while we can't understand (and sometimes don't even want to try to understand) the reasons behind tragedy, we have to eventually learn to give ourselves over to him....from wherever we are. We're never going to be good enough. We're never going to be perfect. We're always going to be 'unfinished,' and that's exactly what this book is about. Learning to live with the unknowns and the what-ifs and the whys...learning that God has his reasons, and that he'll love you even if you question him (or, maybe, yell at him) about the things that take place. As long as you're talking to him, and accepting that he knows best and loves you no matter what, then you're still on the right path.
When I first purchased this book I thought it was going to be more of a self-help than a memorable. For example, I thought she was going to use the verses in the stories to illustrate how God worked in her life. While she did that, I found myself looking at this book like a memoir of her life. I just couldn't seem to relate to her stories for the first half of the book. On the other hand, this book does show that not all celebrity lives are glitz and glamour and that God can change anybody's heart in any circumstance. It was interesting to see how David AR white and her got together
Andrea's story was touching and relatable. We all feel the need to be perfect. I loved how open and honest this read was and that it really made you look at your own life. It was a steady read that kept me involved. It definitely makes you realize that even those that seem to be perfect are struggling with something and that we should be open to others and accepting of them. It's an encouraging read that I would recommend to others.
Absolutely amazing book! I’ve always admired the Whites and even more so now! It was nice to finally read a book where someone could relate to the brokenness I’ve felt. Sure, my story is different... but there were words in there that really healed me.
This was a captivating read. Andrea is David A.R. White's wife. Her testimony is incredible. She writes with such authenticity. She's a girlfriend I would like to have because she's so real.
I could relate so much to her story. My awful past that Jesus saved me from and made me a new creation. Even though I have a far way to go, He has helped me come a very far way. This book is Andrea's testimony and how Jesus saved her and still working on her.
LOVE the last chapter. This is a book everyone who struggles with the past needs to read. Though her experiences are different, the longings and thoughts are the same as the rest of us. It's a must read.
