For as long as four-time Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross can remember, life has been measured in seconds—the fewer, the better.
The Jamaican-American sprinter has been a star track and field athlete since she first began racing, ranking No. 1 in the world and bringing home Olympic and World Championship accolades. A role model for runners around the world, Sanya’s incredible success is matched only by her spirit both on and off the track.
From her early days running in Jamaica to her final race, Sanya shares the importance of determination, courage and faith. She uses the 4 Ps—push, pace, position and poise—a model created by her coach, Clyde Hart, to approach and tackle every obstacle. In her book, Sanya reveals how these strategies have helped her and will help kids learn how to run their best race in life.
Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross's story is an inspiring one of perseverance and dedication to developing her God-given gifts in running. Split into four main sections of her training plan and life plan--push, pace, position, and poise--we follow her journey from beginning to race at age seven in Jamaica to her Olympic experiences for Team USA.
This book is easy to read and accessible for a range of ages. It's written mainly to middle grade and young adult readers, and is a fast read. The chapters are short, allowing readers to pick up the book frequently even if they only have a few minutes to read at a time. Each chapter contains a sidebox with an extra story or anecdote, and each ends with a summary thought connecting Sanya's life experiences to her faith. While the language itself can easily be read by upper elementary students, middle schoolers might benefit a bit more from the discussion of dedication to craft and life planning.
Much of the faith tie-ins and life lessons are simple, but a few in particular stuck out to me, particularly in Sanya's realization that she would transition into another phase of life beyond Olympic running, as well as the benefits of her continued honesty and support from her family throughout her life.

My Review:
Sanya Richards-Ross has come a long way since her days growing up in Jamaica. She has done outstanding competing in the Olympics and becoming a four time Gold medalist to boot. She says with our young people the things and ideas that caused her to grow not only physically but mentally and spiritually. She uses the 4 Ps—push, pace, position and poise—a model created by her coach, Clyde Hart, to approach and tackle every obstacle.
Sanya takes our children through the things that helped her achieve her goals so that maybe she can mentor them into be great human beings that put God first in their lives. A great story about overcoming and achieving the plans that God sets forth in our lives.

Run With Me is the autobiography of Jamaican-American sprinter Sanya Richards-Ross. While it it is intended for a younger audience (8-12), I still found the book to be captivating and thorough.
I greatly enjoyed reading this book and exploring Sanya's journey. I was drawn to the book as I was a sprinter (mainly 100m) growing up and have just started to get into jogging. Sanya's book had many good points on motivation, caring for yourself, pursuing goals, the importance of family and knowing what is important to oneself. She does also focus quite heavily on faith and religion (each chapter start has a bible verse and she refers to it frequently throughout the book). There's nothing wrong with that, it was just unexpected.
I started reading it thinking it would be a casual read, maybe have some insights for a newer runner. What I didn't expect is how I would get so drawn into her life, it was really a great, easy read.
An autobiography of Olympic 400 meter champion Sanya Richards-Ross. Sanya shares her life story from her early childhood to the present focusing on sports highlights but also sharing other important life moments, and incorporating lessons on how things she's learned in sports can have parallels in life as well, especially living as a Christian.
I really want to read the adult version of her autobiography because this felt like it was pared down to be just the basics. You get all the important moments in her life and how she developed as an athlete but there aren't a lot of details. Now that just may be her writing style since she does mention that her memories aren't super detailed except for track meets. Her little bits of advice are solid and I can see teens benefiting a lot by following them. This was a great read. I tore through it (which seems fitting), and came away inspired by her story and her comments. Highly recommended and not just to track fans.
Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content. No violence.
About a gal born and raised in Jamaica who runs track for a decade, it is decided that the best way to get a scholarship is to...MOVE TO THE UNITED STATES! The whole family pack sup and she attends an elite prep school where she accepts Christ as Savior. Her mom becomes an American citizen so the rest of the fam can ride in on her coat tails.
She attends college in Texas and meets a guy. She participates in the Olympics. She runs in meets around the globe, she participates in the 2008 Olympics and gets a bronze in her event and is saddened as she though she would get the gold. She does get gold in a relay.
She shares some training and Bible verses. She has skin issues and her toe breaks down. She doe manage to gin up one season of a reality TV show.
This is the children's version of 'Chasing Grace' which goes into her intimate relationship and what is actually important to her. At the start of this book she writes "My Future Children who have not been born yet, I love you, Mom." (?) Includes photos.

Another autobiography about famous athletes from this publisher, Run With Me is as excellent as the others. This one is about Sanya Richards-Ross and is incredibly inspiring. I absolutely loved reading about this talented runner's life. I appreciated how the book included much about her faith. in fact, the whole book is written around key points of living a life of faith. Readers of all ages will greatly enjoy this book.

Quick read on the strong faith of Olympian track athlete, Sanya Richards-Ross. Her faith the Jesus propellant her to focus on giving her all on the track to be an example to others and glorify Christ through her giftedness.
Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. Sanya determination, along with family and her faith in God she is a fine example to woman. Keep going after your dream. She knew her purpose and set out to do it all her might.
A very inspirational book for all! The reason for 4 stars is because it was rather fast paced - no pun intended - Ms Ross really does a good job telling her story and motivating others. I loved it!
This was a fairly good book. Who better to memorialize the legendary career of Sanya Richards Ross than Sanya Richards Ross? I would love to read the older edition, but this was all my library had. (Still great though!)
