A gay friends-to-lovers Christmas romance

Sometimes, what you really need can be found where you least expect it … Even in your own house.

Billy and James both work more than they do anything else. Billy is a firefighter, James a paramedic, and both of them have dangerous, stressful jobs that leave little time for anything else, such as romance or even dating.

Then Polly, an adorable little black and white kitten that they rescue, comes into their lives and changes everything. James has always thought he was straight, but soon, he has reason to question that, and everything else, when he realizes that he's falling for his best friend.

Will a blast from James’s past ruin everything that they’ve started to build, or can the magic of the holiday season give them the best gift of all?

Snow Angels is a short standalone gay romance with no cliffhangers, no cheating, and a HEA ending. It features explicit scenes.

Snow Angels was my first story by this author, and it will surely be the last.

This novella is all tell, little show, with no real relationship or character development.

Billy's bed breaks, so he goes to sleep with his straight housemate James. They kiss and give each other hand jobs. A day later they're in love!

They are best friends, yet neither gets the other a gift for Christmas, and Billy says he's never felt close enough to James to invite him to his parents' house for Christmas until now. Huh?

I think the author knew the story was dull, what with no plot or meet-cute even, so she threw in a crazy stalking ex and a gratuitous kitty.

Just say no.

I wanted to like this book. The being was good. But then it went from bad to worse. Billy and James are roommates & best friends. But they don't know anything about each other and have never meet each other family. Throw in a crazy ex girlfriend just made this book worse.

***This is a sweet short story of two roommates who give in to their desires, finally.
James is an EMT and younger, gay Billy is a Firefighter. James moved to Maine to get away from family and his crazy ex girlfriend, Liz. James has been realizing how attracted he is to his roomie, who is handsome, rugged, blue eyed and tattooed. They end up with a black and white kitten, and both guys are okay with it.

That night Billy's sofa bed breaks, and he climbs in with James. This a all new for James, these GFY, gay-for-you feelings, because he's never wanted a guy before, but only Billy will do. Enter the crazy Liz, who wants James back, but he's not interested, so she stalks him. With their Christmas week off together, the guys explore a bit. They sizzle when they kiss and each man needs more. Super hotness from these two could melt snow.

Liz tries something with James and his folks, but guess what happens !
We get a terrific short love story, that is simply delightful, and heartwarming.
ENJOY !

This Friends/Roommates to Lovers + Kitten story was sweet, sexy and fun read. Not sure how much James' ex Elizabitch and her evil stalking ways contributed to the success of the story, I have a feeling that whole storyline could have been deleted and not missed. Billy and James' relationship felt very real due to their friendship and having been roommate for quite a few years. James, despite assuming he was straight and having only dated women in the past clearly had begun developing feeling for Billy long before this story ever started. This made the development of their romantic relationship workable. Though the kitten Polly was a thread woven through this story I'm not sure if or how it contributed to James and Billy falling in love. Overall this could have been a better book if there had been more pages to flesh out the characters a bit more, none of the secondary people manage to be more than wallpaper. This didn't really bother me at all though since this book is truly all about James and Billy... anyone else was just wallpaper.

As the two men slept, wrapped up in each other, touching in a very intimate way for the first time, a small, fluffy, black and white kitten crawled onto the bed. She made her way over the two of them, purring loudly, and then settled down on James’s hip. — Billy

Snow Angels is short and simple. Friends to lovers using an ex, familial differences and a kitten as props. Enjoyable but really only works because of the seasonal setting, take out Christmas and I can't see where the plot is. A noteworthy point is that the focus is on characters over sex and sexuality is played quite well. It's not really anything to write home about. It's okay but there are better out there written along the same track. The only reason I'm reading any more by Riley Knight is that I bought this book as part of the Complete Holiday Collection.

I'm voluntarily reviewing a free advance reader copy I received from the author.

This was a sweet story about roommates who all of a sudden realize they have feelings for each other, and act on those feelings. The story was short, but it was able to delve into the relationship between Billy and James. I would love to see more about how these guys deal with life after Christmas. Very enjoyable.

Short gay-for-you Christmas romance which literally worked magic on my mood, Snow Angels by Riley Knight is a truly sweet celebration of love for the sake of love as well as finding love where one thought only friendship lived. I was utterly charmed by James -an older paramedic from a wealthy Boston family- as he recognized he was more aware of his younger roommate Billy -a smoking hot fireman who happens to be a bit of a flirt- than he should have been as only a friend. Billy being an "equal opportunity lover" in his own words had already noticed the man he lived with was attractive, but he'd never thought of him in a sexual way given how he knew James was straight.

Their romance literally takes place over a two week span surrounding Christmas. I wasn't disappointed by the pace of the story though; on the contrary, I found their descent from friendship to lust to love to be perfectly timed for a sweet holiday treat. I loved the addition of the kitten, Polly, and I even enjoyed the villainous ex-girlfriend Liz since it's always more fun when good triumphs over evil. I think I was most impressed by how complete Snow Angels felt even for a short read. I will definitely be reading more of Riley Knight in the future! Snow Angels was enough to make my holiday season much brighter.

James and Billy are room mates and the main thing they have in common is that they work hard. James is a paramedic and Billy is a firefighter so they both are experienced with danger. It is like they are just working through N comes a small kitten they name Polly and things begin to look different to them. This Christmas seems like it will bring great changes for them.

This is a Christmas story of two people who go from friends to more. It is a gay story s with explicit scenes. It is also about becoming aware of who you are and what you want and how hard do you want to fight for it. The characters were strong yet vulnerable, unsure of themselves and had to overcome internal struggles and some external ones to. The sexual scenes were worked well into the storyline and enhanced the story rather than distract from it. It was a heartwarming gay romance that I found pulled at my heart strings.

Not a bad story, but also not a lot to it. The language was pretty simplistic -- I found myself counting the number of times words were repeated in two lines. Still, I wasn't expecting great lit-tra-choo-ah, so I wasn't overly annoyed with the whole thing. James's parents turned out better than expected, which was nice. Eight holiday books down, 200 or so left to go for the year!

Thanks to the author for a review copy of this book.

While I enjoyed the premise of this story, I felt it was just getting started when it was over. I encourage the author to venture in to a full length novel next time! This felt like a teaser!

Billy and James are a great couple. Who knew the power of a tiny kitten. James needed Billy and the kitten to really light up his life. A perfect read for the holidays. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**

This was a nice gay for you Christmas time short story about two roommates finally giving into their underlying and possibly, unbeknownst to them, desires for each other.
Sort of a, they didn't even know they had these feelings until the right opportunity came up.

I was happy with the quick pace of this short, though I know some will say it's too fast, but it gives just enough background to really latch onto both characters. The only part that frustrated or annoyed me was the drama with the ex... she's one heck of a crazy that got off too easily.
I was kind of sad too at the uninterested almost bored reaction James’s parents had for/to his life and pretty much everything about it unless it concerned elevating himself in society. Though I guess the sort of, brush off acceptance was a small bright side to what his future with Billy will hold.

I hope we might get to see more of these characters in the future. A very cute Christmas story indeed! :)

Sweet

This story is sweet and romantic. A self described straight guy and a commitment phobe become room mates then lovers. Sometimes James sounds too homophobic but shows strength when needed.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of the book.
This book was a short sweet read.
The characters were good the storyline was okay.
It's a sweet short Christmas story.
I would have given more stars if this had had more character development. There was so much that could have been done with this story but being short stopped this happening. There was back story for James. And it felt like it was just getting going when it ended. I would have liked to see more of the couple as a couple.

Best friends James and Billy find love over the course of the same week off starting off with a fuzzy black and white Christmas miracle barging into their lives. Despite knowing each other and living together for years, they had never really done more than hang out. On this Christmas, a series of miracles and mishaps bring them together in unexpected ways. Sweet and sexy short, well written, entertaining with HEA!

Real, and very sweet

The sudden change in focus and intensity of the relationship between James and Billy does happen and it can be wonderful. The joy they find in little things like watching it snow or having a snowball fight is very demonstrative of the relationship that has been developing. And who with a kitten hasn't experienced the feeling of total confusion after being awakened out of a deep sleep by that loveable, furry, sharp-clawed menace to a restful night. It was a very enjoyable read.

This was a well written Christmas story of romance and straight to gay love between Billie, a firemen and James, a paramedic. The love and sex were bot sweet and hot and the cute little kitty added a nice touch. There was some angst with an ex-girlfriend that was enough to round out the story. The story had no glaring errors which was really a relief. I would recommend this sweet read to anyone who loves Christmas gay romances

OMG!! I love James and Billy.
Polly is such a wonderful gift for them both and brings them together.
Liz is crazy and James has to go to extra measures to ensure his parents know this.
But the truth comes out for everyone with this information.
Most of all, Billy.
I received this book for an honest review and LOVED IT!

Let it snow, let it snow!

Love the story and the characters in it. I also enjoyed the kitten Polly of added just The right touch to the story. I also liked the positive outcome that the story had. Liz added the right amount of evil. There is parts of the story where the grammar needs a little work.

Snow Angels was a short, but sweet, little story of two friends who find their way to love. Very little angst, very little drama, and these two boys discover that love was right there all along. Overall, I enjoyed the story and character's.
