Little Beaver, while happy with his lot as deputy sheriff in Clover Springs, wants what his friends have—a wife and children. But his heart is stuck on Asha, a woman who lives on the reservation and her father refuses to allow Little Beaver court her.
Tragically, through no fault of her own, Asha is thrown off of the reservation and left to survive in the wilds.
Heartbroken, Little Beaver vows revenge. His friends tell him he will destroy everything he has worked so hard to achieve, and rather than saving the woman he loves, he may place her in further jeopardy.
Will Asha and Little Beaver find true happiness or has the magic of Clover Springs run out?
Rachel Wesson was born in Kilkenny, Ireland but considers herself to be from the capital, Dublin as that's where she spent most of her life. Her dad brought Rachel and her two sisters out every Saturday to give their mother a break. He took them to the library and for ice-cream after. It took a long time for her sisters to forgive her for the hours she spent choosing her books! She grew up driving everyone nuts asking them questions about what they did during the War or what side they were on in the 1916 rising etc. Finally her Granny told her to write her stories down so people would get the pleasure of reading them. In fact what Granny meant was everyone would get some peace while Rachel was busy writing! When not writing, or annoying relatives, Rachel was reading. Her report cards from school commented on her love of reading especially when she should have been learning. Seems you can't read Great Expectations in Maths. After a doomed love affair and an unpleasant bank raid during which she defended herself with a tea tray, she headed to London for a couple of years. (There is a reason she doesn't write romance!). She never intended staying but a chance meeting with the man of her dreams put paid to any return to Ireland. Having spent most of her career in the City, she decided something was missing. Working in the City is great but it's a young person's dream. Having three children you never see isn't good for anyone. So she packed in the job and started writing. Thanks to her amazing readers, that writing turned into a career far more exciting and rewarding than any other. Rachel lives in Surrey with her husband and three children, two boys and a girl. When not reading, writing or watching films for "research" purposes, Rachel likes to hang out with her family. She also travels regularly back home - in fact she should have shares in BA and Aerlingus.
Little Beaver is deputy sheriff in Clover Springs. He loves his freedom from the reservation, but yearns for the love he left there as he watches all the new couples in Clover Springs.
Asha has been kicked out by her tribe for becoming pregnant by a white soldier -- a man who raped and beat her. At only age 15, she is considered an adult in her tribe and ready for marriage. Her heart lies with Little Beaver, but she wants revenge to kill the soldier and get rid of the baby she carries.
The people of Clover Springs protect her in the orphanage and Aaron Higgins comes up with an idea to keep her in town. Meanwhile, Little Beaver seeks revenge for her, planning to kill the soldier.
Wonderful story of racial history with deep love winning.
A sweet, unexpected adventure, full of suspense, surprises, and unexpected danger. The characters are awesome, a town where race doesn’t matter! Mostly full of good people, with only a few rotten apples to spoil the bunch. A love that is meant to be, no matter the tragedy, disgrace or disappointment that is the result of the cruelty of a man! Trust, courage, purity of heart, and love conquer the betrayal, devastation, and cruelty inflicted on the innocent!
This book follows the same characters throughout the series. Each character gets a turn to become a main character as sack piece of the series evolves. This book dwells on an Indian who has come to belong to Clover Springs community. I learned so much about the peaceful Indians and their suffering when pushed onto a reservation. What a hard time they had. I’m so glad to have found this series. It is among my favorite, and I have read several.
Thanksgiving in Clover Springs( Clover Springs Mail Order brides Book7)
Another terrific book to read. This is the best series I have read in a long time.. I'm going to read the final book in this series and then will be able to get back to the chores I've ignored because I couldn't put the books down. Thanks to the Author for my journey.
I have fallen in love with every one of the characters in Clover Springs. Rachel is a gifted author who brought these characters alive. I hope there are more books in the series. Aaron needs a wife! Willa needs a husband! I will keep looking to see if they marry.
Thanksgiving in Clover Springs (Clover Springs Mail Order Brides, Book 7)
The love story of Little Beaver and Asha. It's Thanksgiving time in Clover Springs. Nandita and Frank found Asha in the wood. She is pregnant, beaten up, and exile from her tribe. The father of het baby is the captain of the reservation. He rape her. and Little Beaver wants revenge. Great story.
I love these western romances by Rachel Wesson. Some brides were Mail Order brides, and some were ladies who came to Clover Springs after hearing from their orphan friends. This book is about an Indian maiden, who has been abused by a Army officer, she runs away and ends up in Clover Springs. i cannot wait to read the next book.
This story has cowboys, Indians, fire, snow love and orphans. What could be better, wait how about love. I will recommend this Author and this series to all my friends and family. Very good from the first chapter. Thank you
I gave this story a 5 star rating as it was fantastic. This story dealt with everything you could think of. It had love, racism, suspense and drama. I would recommend this book to everyone.
Nice to include the Indian part of Clover Springs. Throw in some hateful army men and a baby out of wedlock, much less a rape, for a moralistic story for all to enjoy!
This series is an incredible experience. The realistic presentation of each story brings a mixture of fragility, anxiety, joy and humanity which I feel is the gift of an inspired author. Thanks for the story of Ashamed and Little Beaver.
Just as all the other books in the clover Springs Mail Order Brides series so far, this book is a must read for anyone who has enjoyed Rachel Wessons other books. This is well written with a great story and lots of personality in it.
I skipped one book in this series and now I regret it! There were a few things I didn't get in this book. Guess I will have to backtrack and catch up, but most of the story was easy to follow! Good read!
Ms Wilson helps the reader insert the struggles of early settlement. Early history books in our schools made us think the Indians were the bad guys! Not true!
I love this series. I love the characters ( most of them). I'm glad that the town has embraced people of different races, and backgrounds. We' re all the same inside
I have to confess I read instead of getting work done. I also stayed awake all night to continue reading. It was well worth it because this story had so much action.
