Cyborg Sizzle #3.5

Jumping Barrel

Rate this book
He requires an Expert. She needs a hero.

Barrel requires an Expert for the Tau Cetian orphans. He’s looking for a female who is willing to commit to a lifespan-long role, who is comfortable with moving off planet, and who, preferably, has the ability to speak the offsprings’ first language.

Nola wants the role Barrel is offering so badly she bends a few truths. Yes, she was born off planet but she has lived almost all of her lifespan in sheltered Academies. Yes, she has learned Tau Cetian but she has never spoken with a local. Yes, she plans to follow the rules but his deep, sexy voice tempts her to rebel.

When a fact-morphing human academic meets her battle-worn cyborg warrior, deceptions are revealed, passions flare, and circuits sizzle. Wrong seems right. Lies turn into truth. The candidate least qualified for the role becomes the one candidate Barrel can’t let go.

Jumping Barrel is a short companion story in the Cyborg Sizzle series and is meant to be read after Releasing Rage, Breathing Vapor and Crash And Burn. It is also a BBW Cyborg SciFi Romance.

Although this story was super short, the author did an amazing job of keeping things interesting. Cyborgs are falling all over themselves trying to find their mates. Savoring their first taste of freedom, they want to share forever with the female who is genetically compatible to them and able to bear their children. This book was all about Barrel's turn at bat. Having settled on the planet Green found his forever on, he's now looking for someone to help the orphaned children, teaching them and comforting them in ways a cyborg can't. After searching through many a database, he finds Nola, who is desperate for a job, embellishes her resume, and has her own preconceptions about cyborgs. Realizing she's his mate, he couldn't care less about her job skills... he must have her.

Jumping Barrel was another entertaining read from the Cyborg Sizzle series. I'm loving watching all of these big, strong, passionate cyborgs find their happily ever afters and Barrel's tale was no exception. This book may be short, but there was so much happening that I only wished there was more to it. I'm hoping I get to see these two in the books to come. I'm off to dive into some more of these yummy cyborgs and satisfy my scifi craving!

Sweet Short Story

I love it when two lonely people get together. Barrel is not exactly lonely. He has a bunch of orphans to raise. But he has had a hard life and never had a sweetheart. And he has no experience raising humanoid children. He desperately needs an expert to help him. This is Barrel's story of a search for the perfect woman. Only as far as human women go, nobody's perfect. Or are they? Read it and find out.

Another cute, short read. Unfortunately, this one had too much going on to be a novella.

Safe read

I read a lot of cyborg romance. This one was superficial and cheesy. I liked the heroine well enough, but the hero was cut straight out of the cyborg warrior box. It needed more detail at every step. I probably won't be reading any more novellas by this author, though if I see a longer book, I might consider trying again as there was the occasional flash of brilliance.

I love this book. I really am glad that our Cyborg men are finding love. Nola was prefect for Barrel. She showed that she not only was an expert in skill but has a great big heart and deserves our loving Cyborg. Thank you. I cant wait for our next adventure.

This one's quite a bit shorter than the others in the series, so it moves quickly. Very quickly. Which isn't a bad thing except I'm kinda digging on these cyborgs right now and wouldn't have minded a little more set in their world.

But it's cool. Because Barrel and Nola find their happy place and that's what it's all about, right? Well, that and teaching all the orphans they saved from Tau Ceti. Which Nola is (mostly) qualified to do.

Again, it moves quickly and there's not a lot of waffling about the situation they find themselves in. The universe likes to throw these cyborgs and their special lady friends together and that's exactly what happened. *thumbs up*

Short story. The rescued children are now on Earth Minor and the cyborgs are struggling to train them to defend themselves. Barrel decided that they need an "Expert" (teacher) preferably a human female to assist with the nurturing of the youngest ones - he finds Nola on a distant planet and realises she is his mate and leaves to fetch her home.

This had potential, lack of page count didn't allow for too much, but it was sweet and the heartfelt moment with Ka-na were adorable.

Overall, entertaining read.

Barrel and his cohorts are funny in their efforts to raise a group of young orphans. They soon realize they may need a little help and go in search of an Expert. The Expert turns out to be Barrels mate and he does what is needed to secure his one and only.
An extremely brief short story which makes me sad because this had the potential to be a terrific full length story. It has those things I love albeit abbreviated.... adventure, humor and hot cyborgs. Too short for me but, I do love this series so I await the next one to come out.

Short, sweet and sexy. I absolutely love Cynthia Sax's cyborgs. I don't read much syfy, but hers is a must read for me every time. Jumping Barrel was surprisingly conflict and drama free. Barrell recognized that Nola is his the moment he sees her and of course sets off to get her and bring her back to his home where he essentially oversees the training of orphaned Tau Cetian children.

I do wish it had been longer but only because I loved the characters and wanted to read more about them.

This was an excellent novella, absolutely superb. I long to read more about Nola and Barrel. Beautifully told, with a solid storyline, even a little development, and conflict that didn't resolve in a moment. These two are wonderful and one of my favorite pairs!

She's An Expert

They needed an Expert to train the children and Barrel found one. Only she may have fudged a little on her experience. He knew she was the one for him also. So far he is my favorite cyborg. This is a sweet, hot fun read. Enjoy I did.

Heavens! Super short and sweet! 💖✨

The way it was written was perfect. At least for me. One gets a sense of the surroundings. A short story with a moral. For a person like me, who continuously was considered a bad mother by school counselors. Simply for teaching my boys to go and work to make their dreams come true, loved it! My oldest finished high school and has being chasing after his dream. All he had to do was watch Netflix, YouTube, and wait for time to pass to get diploma. My youngest who was jumped grades, dropped out bored out of his mind. No education in our state. He's doing it the hard way.

Loved it! I would put the heroine on a pedestal for doing what she thought it was best for the kids education and their happiness. 💖✨

It's amazing what we discover when we look beyond the surface

This story is a delight. Barrel's caring side was evident in previous stories, as he supported fellow Cyborg Green, but here he truly shines.

From start to finish Nola is full of opinions and perspectives that are fun, and insightful, giving cause for a bit of thought.

I read book 5, but not 6, before reading this one, and some new characters were here that feel like they were introduced in the book I didn't read, so while this was a good stand alone, done in one quick read, previous stories do add backstory and depth.

This story was short and sweet. Like all the books in the Cyborg Sizzle series these lovable cyborgs are trying to live life on the run from the Humanoid Alliance all while looking out for the one female that is meant to be theirs. Barrel is taking care of the orphaned Tau Cetians and he's having a bit of trouble figuring out how to "train" these non-cyborg children so he decides to hire an expert. He find his female but she may have lied a little on her application. Barrel could care less about the job and so much about Nola. Love reading about how these Cyborgs are progressing since they escaped. Can't wait to see what happens to them next.

This was a super fast read. I love this series so it's no surprise that I enjoyed Jumping Barrel.

Barrel is looking for an expert to teach the offspring and th3 second he hears Nola speak he knows she's his female. Nola has no idea that Barrel is on his was and she's so desperate for a job she ends up in the last place she thought she'd go. Nola ends up over her head and in trouble.

I thought this was quick and fun to read. Sometimes you just need something to get to the point. Keep the cyborg stories coming!

Jumping Barrel

Unfortunately, I've had this on my kindle for so long, I didn't realise it was book 3.5.
I have not read all the books that came before it.

This was ok. Based on this one book, it wouldn't make me want to go out and read all the others.

It's about different worlds consisting of cyborgs, humanoids and humans. Cyborgs are not looked upon favourably and any that are damaged in any way are brutally disposed of.

Barrel is teaching the young offspring to fight, but he needs and expert to come and teach them. Nola interviews for the position and Barrel knows instantly that this woman is his and his alone.

Now all he has to do is go and collect her from another planet. All under the radar of those who would want to do them harm.

Jumping Barrel

Barrel has to find a Expert for the small humanoids that are in his care. But finding an Expert is harder than he realized. Nola is looking for a post where she can be more open and honest with her charges instead of always following the rules.
Barrel sees an advertisement for an Expert and Nola sees one for his charges and they find they are meant for each other. Barrel must get Nola to come to his planet 🌎 to work with him and his charges so that they might be together. Can telling the truth get you exactly what you need? Only time will tell.

Series: Cyborg Sizzle #3.5
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

Another short novella in the Cyborg Sizzle universe. This one is about Barrel finding his mate while on the hunt for a teacher for the orphaned children they are looking after. I really love how caring and accepting the cyborgs are of the children. It is quite adorable watching them bumble along trying to teach them. Overall, this was a short and sweet novella with a hunky cyborg.

So glad I read this story. It was a quick little sweet story. While sweet stories aren't my favorite... I actually loved reading this one. After reading Releasing Rage and meeting Barrel in that story, I wanted to read his and all the other cyborgs that I meet in that story. After everything they have been through they deserve some sweetness. This is perfect for Barrel. I can't wait to read the rest of them.

Short but sweet.

I liked this novella a lot. The pace was awesome with a lot of emotional drama fit in few pages. I really like this pairing. NOLA doesn't fight the pull, her only real fears related to her resume's embellishments. Barrel is a perfect fit for her, sexy, respectful and accepting of her.

And Ka-Na is a great character.

This is a 4 chpt story, available for free on Amazon.

The kid was adorable and not annoying at all, I like how she wasn't perfect but was still written as deserving love.

Insta romance. Insta sex. All things that are expected out of a short Cynthia Sax book, but I wish it was longer and the plot was drawn out more. I love cyborg books and I wish it had more meat in this one.
