Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
I’m not a good reviewer as I have a tendency to repeat things but they are all relevant. This is a good book with lots of action and great characters. Caina and friends are out to defeat another major enemy and save the world (or part of it). Good read
This book features Cassander Nilas as the villain whose nefarious plot to destroy Istarinmul takes precedent over foiling Grand Master Callatas.
Cassander Nilas believes that Caina died at Rumarah and has posted proclamations all over the city announcing this. Her friends and fellow Ghosts are devastated at this news.
On the other hand, Caina believes that Cassander was killed in Rumarah so both of them are wrong.
Cassander demands that the Starfall Straits be opened to allow the Umbarian fleet to pass on their way to destroy the Empire. He flagrantly insults both Callatas and the Grand Wazer in front of witnesses when his demand is denied. Oddly enough, he seems rather pleased that the Umbrian contingent is banished from Istarinmul.
Meanwhile, Agabyzus, now leader of the Ghosts in Istarinmul, reports to Martin some disturbing news. He has discovered that Cassander has been purchasing properties that seem to form a giant circle around the Golden Palace. They fear it may open a portal.
Caina is now a valikarion and still discovering what new abilities she has. Again, why she doesn't call upon her pyrikon more? There is a scene where Annarah is wielding hers, yet Caina removes herself from the confrontation because she doesn't have anything to contribute in the way of weapons. I disagree.
In spite of Claudia being in her third trimester of pregnancy she refuses to stay home but feels her powers are needed to vanquish their enemies. Martin reluctantly agrees to let her do as she desires.
Caina is having a hard time mentally recovering from being stabbed by Kalgri. She is paranoid and expecting Kalgri to attempt to kill her again at every turn.
They finally determine what Cassander is plotting and join forces to stop him. Interestingly, Kalgri doesn't interfere.

Dear Jonathan, another excellent and entertaining story in the continuing adult series. I have rated this book lower because of the unbridled sexual and between the two lead characters. Your characters are not helping the depraved morality of the current time. I highly recommend reading this book and series to adults interested in reading a great story. Thanks for the entertainment.
This series just keeps getting better. The first books were lacking but this one makes up for it. The strong main character and the great story telling keeps you reading, the pages turning easily. Great Reading Everyone!
There was so many twists of surprise! I couldn't stop reading. I love Caina, she's just amazingly clever at solving puzzles. The Ghost series and this one, Ghost Exile, are definitely MUST- READ books💜💜💜
Ghost Exile book 7. Spoilers ahead for the earlier works.
It opens with considerable discussion, in different venues, of Caina's apparent death in the last work. And Callastas, having demanded his reward and been denied, plots. It does not help that his own survival used necromantic techniques that harm sanity.
It involves a circus performance, the problems with using a large circle in magic, an offer to the Red Huntress, Claudia's pointing out that even though a battlefield is no place for a woman about to go into labor, the whole city's about to be a battlefield, breaking into a palace to discover things, and more.
The author is consistent in both the good and bad points that seem to be his hallmark in the Ghost series. superb storytelling and character development is offset by poor editing.
