This book is a little outdated now, but it is a detailed description on rendering portraits in colored pencil. There is still a lot to learn from this book, and many include it as a must on their bookshelf. I like the way it shows you how to blend core pencil colors to reach various skin tones. It is definitely worthy of reading!

This book has some good color combinations for skin and hair but it requires many many layers so it will be ideal for a big project not coloring in books. I particularly liked the section on how to color fabric I found it to be very useful and it’s hard to find instruction how to color fabric and clothes. It is excellent if you are serious about doing portraits. This book uses prismacolor colored pencils.

Well I guess the library wanted its book back. I may yet buy a copy for myself but I don't really have much interest in portraiture per se. I did like her overall technique lessons; those alone make the book worthy of interest for anyone working in this medium.
