Always the bridesmaid and almost never the bride. Gia had stopped looking for love a long time ago when her fiancé jilted her at the altar. When she finds herself face to face with her cheating ex, she tries to cover her nerves in the strong arms of Evan Tate, who seems more than willing to distract her with every inch of his sex appeal.

When the wedding is over, Gia wants nothing more than to put the weekend behind her, but Evan has other plans. He makes it more than clear that Gia wasn’t just a one-night stand to him. Evan wants so much more.

Can Gia learn to leave her past behind and take a chance on love? With plenty of obstacles in the way, would the two be able to beat the odds?

Taking Chances is a hot, steamy romance. Gia and Evan set my tablet on fire! While their relationship started out as pure lust, I was very pleased when they slowed down (a tad) and got to know each other.

Gia was so cynical of everything--not just taking a chance on romance. Evan was much more upbeat and willing to let go of the past. I loved the way Gia handled Evan's mother and ex-wife! I could never have been that cool-headed. Without a doubt, I would have made a scene. Tony was a gem, especially when he asked if he should spit in their food!

Mrs. Groves was quite a character. I would love to see a "prequel" covering her life story. I would like this to be a series and for Tessa, Tony, and Ben to get their own stories. They were all such interesting characters.

I gave this book 4.5 stars due to a couple of things: It was never explained how Evan knew so much about Gia and Clint. Since that was important to the story, I would like to know the answer. Evan should have stood up to his mother instead of letting her get away with being so mean and nasty. He should have clearly stated his feelings for Gia and told his mother he wouldn't tolerate such behavior.

This is the first book I've read by this author but it won't be the last. I definitely recommend taking a chance on Taking Chances.
