The time of reckoning is here-Omnikron, the interstellar destroyer, has come to Earth! The Impossibles race to help a barely living Space Ghost, while Mightor and Birdman battle the massive entity-and the scientists who understand it are trapped in the secret base of F.E.A.R. As the heroes face a force beyond anything the world has seen, the kids they left safely behind hatch a bold plan…
It’s a quiet moment for everyone to regroup and get a handle on everything that’s happening. While Dr. Quest learns more about Omnikron from Dr. Zin, the rest of Team Quest hooks up with Dr. Kim-Conroy and her son. The Impossibles also stumble on someone new from another vortex!
This issue-long story is one just filled with exposition. We learn more about Omnikron and it’s past, get a little more clued in on the new Mightor and his powers, and find out what makes Frankenstein Jr. tick. These are actually important elements that will hold this whole story together. I’ve been curious about some of these things since the beginning of the series, and it’s nice to see some of it paying off.
There are a few things I think Parker is setting up for later in the story, so it should be fun to see where some of this stuff goes. While this isn’t a very exciting chapter, it certainly provides a lot of elements to build on for the second half. We’re not getting a lot character development here, but there are really just too many characters to adequately do that.
Interesting issue that gives readers a better insight into the overall story.
Jonny ,Hadji and race arrive at the Frankenstein jr. base , Birdman teaches the new Mightor how to use his powers , Space ghost arrives at earth .
This was a much better laid out story as the plot finally starts moving somewhere , with some action scene in between. There were a few funny moments here and there and the mystery about who or what Omnikron is,is revealed .
Art was more consistent in this issue than it was in the previous issue and the dialogues also felt more legit. Overall a decent comeback issue for the title
The creative team on this book is firing on all cylinders. Either that or I'm the perfect target audience.
They're using classic HB characters from my Saturday and Sunday morning childhood and bringing them into a shared universe that weaves them all together in a seamless manner that boggles the mind.
Our cartoons grew up and they didn't get extra violent or shed any clothes to do it. They just have an excellent narrative with quality dialogue and endearing characters.
