The Jerusalem Protocol

Rate this book
The Jewish people have prayed for centuries for their Temple to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. But how . . . without inciting World War III? In this sequel to The Cloud Strike Prophecy , ISIS wages a brutal assault that stretches from the Middle East to Texas. While the world’s attention is on ISIS, a unique opportunity arises for the first time in history. Meanwhile, rumors swirl that the Israelis plan to rebuild their Temple in spite of the Muslim Dome of the Rock dominating the Jerusalem skyline. When ancient sources reveal long hidden clues to the actual location of the original Jewish Temple, Ty, Regan, and Solly are given the dangerous job of proving this theory. Their investigation could lead to a holy war . . . or it could change the world forever.

The Jerusalem Protocol is the second fiction novel by author David Orlo. I appreciated this sequel to the Cloud Strike Prophecy more than the first novel. The author clearly does his research regarding certain details such as technologies involved in flying an aircraft or doing portable drilling. He, however, at times gets too involved in the details and then rushes the overall story along to the neglect of character development and their interpersonal relationships. He uses too much summarizing.
The story itself captured my attention, as it is about the possibility of rebuilding the Jewish temple on the Temple Mount in present day Jerusalem and how that might be accomplished. It simultaneously recognizes the tensions in the Middle East that occupy our thoughts and threaten our world.
I appreciated the presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Author's Comments at the back of the book which clarify which portions of the novel are, indeed, factual and relevant for our present time.
I would recommend this book.

A very good second novel by David Orlo Dykes. It is based on the premise that the site of the temple in Jerusalem is not where the Dome of the Rock is located. Thus raises the possibility of a third temple without the destruction of the Dome of the Rock and the resulting warfare.
Like his first book, this is a good terrorist novel set in Israel. A good read.

The second novel from new author David Orlo continues the Regan Hart series. While it's not necessary for the reader to have read the first book, it would be helpful. The three main characters in the book are continued from The Cloud Strike Prophecy and while there are retrospective narratives that provide some insight into how the story developed, first time readers may wonder how and why this team is together. Readers can always go back and read the first book to fill in the blanks after completing the current story.

The main trio of Ty, Solly, and of course Regan Hart are back and involved in an international incident that could have been ripped from the pages of any current newspaper. The only negative about the plot line is that with a little more effort it could have been split into at least two books. There are several sub plots and twists that are really solved a little too easily to be truly believable. I wish Orlo had taken a bit more time to develop these stories and inserted a little more tension for the characters by not having all of them work out in favor of the good guys. That is something that seasoned writers include to build intrigue and identification with the characters. As an avid reader of fiction that is what really separates the good from the great authors.

Knowing the author personally I can see where his desire to have the message of Jesus be the focus of the book caused the story to flatten out a little. This makes sense given the nature of the book in some ways as a part of the series, but might cause some new readers to scratch their head as to why it becomes the central theme in a book centered on the rebuilding of the Jewish temple. The story is a bit too neat and tidy for me. I would have preferred a little more left unfinished to adequately mirror real life and help me stay connected to the story and characters.

With that being said, the book is a great read. The story is interesting in its scope and implications. It's based on good research and many trips by the author to the places included in the book. With more experience writing the development of the back story of the characters will improve but it is adequate now. The plot has enough twists to keep you engaged. You will want to keep reading until you get to the end. I was intrigued by the weaving together of the stories concerning ISIS, the Jews, intelligence agencies, and Christian concerns. It makes perfect sense and while it may be too simplified the reader can imagine the outcome actually happening sometime in our near future.

I highly recommend the book and I look forward to future installments from Orlo and the Regan Hart Series or other stories. This book will be appreciated by anyone, but for those interested in Christian or Jewish Prophecy, it will be a thought provoking masterpiece. It might even get them to ask, "Is this fiction or a not yet fulfilled reality?"

I received a complimentary copy of the book for my review and honest commentary.

There is History, Current Events, ISIS, and Intrigue. "The Jerusalem Protocol" is the second novel by David Orlo. I read the first novel in the Regan Hart series, "The Cloud Strike Prophesy" and was initially introduced to the interesting cast of characters and to David Orlo's superb writing style. "The Jerusalem Protocol" continues with a very intriguing storyline that develops a plausible perspective of a third Temple to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. It is commonly thought that the Muslim Dome of the Rock occupies the location of the original Jewish Temple and would prohibit rebuilding on that spot. A theory, discovery from ancient times suggests this may not be the case. The novel intertwines history by beginning with an up-close view of the destruction of the second Temple as described by an eyewitness. It is interesting to see how David includes action in multiple locations in the world. Being from East Texas myself, I especially enjoyed the scene that takes place on a redneck's farm. A great addition is the author's comments which gives insight to his intentions and expounds on the plot. A third book is anticipated next year. I highly recommend this series. #JerusalemProtocol

Intriguing fiction that is relevant today, THE JERUSALEM PROTOCOL is an absolute page turner with rich characters who easily and quickly become a part of your world. Come along on the thrilling adventure and be a part of this investigation into historical facts and present-day intrigue in the Middle East involving the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock, biblical prophecy around the rebuilding of the Temple, and how it may affect the rest of the world – YOUR world. David Orlo has done an outstanding job with his research and wonderfully intertwines fiction with prophetic truths in this second book in a series (the first book being THE CLOUD STRIKE PROPHECY). Discover for yourself what you believe awaits us! You won’t want to put this book down until you reach the end, but I advise taking regular breaks!

After reading this compelling fictional thriller, I wished I had read it first before visiting Jerusalem a few years ago. The author has been to Israel dozens of times and it clearly shows through the detailed description of events and places, some of it "behind the scenes" material. The characters are compelling and I found myself cheering for them, especially for Regan and Ty, along with Sol (the Australian Mossad agent). If you are looking for a fast-paced action read that is nearly impossible to put down once you start reading, this is it. Order a copy for yourself and read it ... then you will likely order more to give away to others as gifts they will treasure. Even though this is a sequel in the series, it absolutely stands on its own and could easily be read first before reading the first novel, The Cloud Strike Prophecy.

Oh, my gosh, this book is fascinating and riveting! I feel like I know Regan, Ty, and Solly personally. I read the book in two days because I could not put it down - I had to know what was going to happen on the next page, and the next and the next. There is danger, intrigue, deliverance, and determination. I have been to Tyler, TX and to the Temple Institute and the Temple Mount, so I felt like I was right there with the characters in the book. Will they be all right? Will they escape? Read this book and find out. Especially, find out a possible scenario for how the Temple could be rebuilt. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. The Temple Institute mentioned in the book is a real place. I have been there and seen some of the things they have made to be placed in the new Temple.

'The Jerusalem Protocol' is a very well written, action packed fictitious adventure! This is the second book in a series (the first is "The Cloud Strike Prophecy"); the main characters are lovable and they encounter interesting people, challenging situations and notable opponents. You will be drawn into every scene, flying from East Texas to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and more, in addition to wanting to spring into action to help the main characters with stealthy maneuvers in this history filled page turner! You will not be able to put this book down until completion! ("The Cloud Strike Prophecy" is every bit as good as this one!) THIS IS A 'MUST READ'!!! I LOVED it and you will too!

The Jerusalem Protocol is the second book in the Regan Hart series. It’s a fast-paced thrill ride from start to finish. Orlo weaves together history, theology, and current events keeping the reader engaged throughout this page turner. When the incredible cast of characters converge in Israel, the pace of the story increases to a climatic crescendo. I don’t want to give the story away but it includes ISIS, Jewish customs, Islamic traditions, prophecy and of course, conflict... The book is entertaining! It’s relevant! It’s unputdownable!
