A glimpse into background story of Elijah

This story builds the characters’ future journeys. It is centred around Elijah Baker’s meeting with Rochelle and explores their evolving friendship. The pacing is good, and the story unfolds that mirrors the tentative steps of a budding relationship - Rochelle stands out —quiet, mysterious, and layered. Her resilience to adversity contrasts with Elijah’s vulnerability. Elijah’s struggle between friendship and romantic longing is portrayed with nuance and realism. This book seems to be building up to the main novel (one I haven't read). It’s a quiet story about connection, hesitation, and the unspoken feelings that shape us all as we come of age. I really liked Elijah as a character and felt for him in this story. I am curious to read on to find out how their romance pans out.

Such an in-depth beginning to what I can only assume will be a fantastic read / listen. This book gripped me with it's realism. A friendship with the different faucets of love that plague our main character. Some say that people of the opposite sex can never really be just friends and this book examines the inner struggle of those exact emotions. A cryptic tale of a possible unrequited love where fear of the unknown can rule the decisions you make and ultimately your life. The narration was smooth and well done as is the story and flow. I loved the character developments as Elijah seems to stumble and Rochelle thrives. I hope to learn more about these two in future reads on this series!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

They met on that first day of school, in room 331. Elijah and Rochelle. Elijah fell hard, but just couldn’t ever seem to tell her how he felt. This is their story of friendship. Of love. Of jealously. Of heartbreak. A prequel to Postcards from Paris.
I received this complimentary Audiobook from Story Origin and want to leave this review. The narrator, Adam Barr did an amazing job with this book. Very easy to listen to. Brought the feels to the surface to enhance my listening experience. Well done.
Note. I prefer the male leads to be alpha. Elijah is not. But this story had me so captured, I was still pulling for him!
I am anxious to listen to the next book!

How it all started

Room 331 is a prequel to the book Postcards from Paris. If you have read the novel, which I have, then you will appreciate what the prequel adds to it and shows how things started. Rochelle and Elijah are wonderful together as they meet for the first time and begin what will become their deep friendship. They will also start to fall in love with each other and it is wonderfully written. As a reader you are swept into their lives and start to feel the emotions they do, along with spark their chemistry. I would definitely recommend this book, whether you have read the other book or not.

A beautiful and at times heartbreaking story. Elijah met Rochelle his first day in class after transferring to a new college. His life was never the same again.

Rebekah Dodson writes with such emotion. I really felt for the characters and found myself hoping for things to work out.

Adam Barr delivered the perfect performance. I could feel the whole range of emotions that the characters were experiencing.

‘Don’t wait’
I’ve tried to live by this advice…and I’d rather receive a “No, thank you” than to always wonder. Makes things soooo awkward, otherwise.

‘Friends don’t let friends get taken advantage of.’
Not all predators are violent. Charmers know how to get past the “safety warnings” and into one’s personal space. When somebody brings up a charmer’s past, take heed.

Looking forward to the next books: ‘Postcards from Paris’, ‘Postcards from America’, ‘Postcards from Moscow’, and ‘Postcards from Montreal’.

Sweet sorrow. Third year of college, new start, new school and no friends. Enter Rochelle, sitting next to her in the first class seemed innocent enough, then there she was in the second class. Must be a sign. The story follows the year and all that it delivers. There are surprises. There is heartache. There are secrets kept for the benefit of all. It ends as it must with the clues given at the very beginning.
